L'AO - L'Aigle D'Or

Clam, quiet, fresh and clean, nestled in a quit ans very safe village a short drive into the hills. Perfect for a stay and visit of the Alsace wine country and its amazing treasures. Warm and efficient service, spacious and very clean rooms, very comfortable.

Charming small Hotel Stayed only one night but was amazed by the setting and the nice surrounding. The surrounding invites you to drift away. I would have loved to simply lose myself for a day. Sit in the park and forget the present for a little moment. Would go again for an extended stay. We had everything we needed. Good breakfast, clean rooms, a quite and good night. Friendly staff. This is a fantastic small hotel, in a lovely peaceful area. We had a lovely superior room, very spacious, clean and fresh with lots of light. All the staff were warm, friendly and very efficient. We stayed half- board which included an excellent set menu. There is an excellent wine list with lots of local wines.|The restaurant was very busy, so probably advisable to book.|The hotel had a lovely atmosphere, we felt welcome and well looked after and I hope we will pass this way again as we would very much like to return.

We chose to stay here on our way to Switzerland hoping to do some walking in the Vosges and weren't disappointed. The hotel is located in a beautiful village and has walks from the door. We took our two dogs and they were welcomed by the hotel, allowed into breakfast and dinner with us. We were on the second floor which was a bit awkward with the dogs, but it wasn't too much trouble. Rooms are traditionally decorated and very comfortable and the restaurant is excellent with a good choice of local wines. Ideally situated for visiting Le Grand Ballon, the Alsace Wine Route and some of the well known Alsace villages and towns.

Very tranquil and peaceful, romantic location but not much obtion within walking distance. I assume it is the best option for hiking the surrounding mountains. You definitely need a car to explore the area. We had a pleasant stay. The room was nice and cosy but needs some touch ups. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant excellent. We had breakfast and dinner and both earn 5 stars.

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. We had a late arrival. But we were nevertheless warmly welcomed. The rooms are clean and served its purpose. However I found the bed to be a bit small and I’m not even that big myself! ( 157cm) We also had dinner at the restaurant. We were very pleased with the excellent food and wine ! The service personnel were very helpful and friendly. The hotel also offers free parking for its guests. The only downside is the location. It’s a bit off the path. But for that you have some peace and quiet away from the city.

reat place for a relaxing stay. The hotel is located in a very calm village and has a very extensive garden where you han relax after a firm hike. Drinks are available all day. The restaurant is a real great restaurant and has a fixed menu. That makes it less suitable to stay more than 4 days as you may end up with the same dish again. But there are some nice brasseries nearby too. The hotel is ideal to stay when wanting to visit le Grand Ballon. Parking space in the immediate neighbourhood.

We loved our stay in the valley of the Vogeses. Great food, beautiful room, kind and friendly staff. Very welcoming and great with our son. We will come back 100%!||||
