"For in-the-know New Yorkers, Sézane has been a kind of Parisian style Holy Grail. The laid-back French label pretty consistently check off all the sartorial boxes, best known for their thoughtful edit of lace blouses, stacked-heel boots, great jeans, and unfussy dresses. For their first US outpost, they've settled down in Nolita, where design inspiration comes straight from founder Morgane Sezalory's Paris flat complete with plush velvet seating, light wood floors, wraparound bookshelves, and lots of houseplants. (Bonus: there's a small café fueled by goop favorite Maman so you can sip your latte while you peruse the racks, or settle into the nook near the front with one of the many books on offer.)"

Looks like many similar reviews. The lack of engagement on behalf of the store employees leaves a lot to be desired from the brand. Have visited the DC pop up many time and everyone was kind and welcoming. This store, not so much. There is a person who wasn’t dressed anything from the brand with a zig zag cut into their fade, that was the worst. No smiles, just judging women who came to shop. Forgot to add about the young Asian person with the bob haircut who was equally as bad. The nicest people were the people behind the cash wrap and the person working the fitting room. Do better please!

Similar to many of the reviews, the staff here made me feel unwelcomed - as if I was a nuisance. I quickly picked up on this when the employees stared at me expressionless. Or when they rolled their eyes when I confused sizes and requested for a new one. This is the first time I've actually felt nervous to request a different size or shade. The only employee who gave me a smile and treated me with kindness was the lovely South Asian woman at the register. People to people interactions and the environment you create reflects the brand. It's a pity to say that while I am happy with my purchase, I left this location feeling incredibly disappointed by the lack of courtesy and warmth.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The store is small but beautiful. I even received a small gift with my purchase. Nice detail!

I love Sezane online, but my experience in the store was terrible. Staff were inattentive, slow, and generally seemed unhappy (did not make for a fun or pleasant shopping experience). I asked to try on a few different shoes and was left waiting for 15 minutes before I went to the check out counter and asked what the delay was - apparently they had just forgotten about me. When they did bring the shoes out, they dropped them with me and then went to attend to others, which made it hard to ask for a different size. I will continue buying online but I'd be lying if I said this hadn't turned me off the brand some. Please improve so that I can love the store as much as I love the clothes!

I have been in several times and really feel like the customer service in this store has been lacking for the last few months. Like others have said, it’s hard to get the staff’s attention, and even when you do flag someone down to check on an item, they just bring it out and leave (no asking to start a dressing room or advice on sizing etc). Last time I was in I saw a blouse on a mannequin, but didn’t see it anywhere in the store. I asked an employee if they had any sizes in stock, they said there were only two left in two different sizes. They brought me one size from the back, and said the other size was on the mannequin. Of course, the blouse on the mannequin was my size—so I asked if they could take it off for me to try on, and I was told they weren’t allowed to take anything off the mannequins. The blouse was sold out online too, so there was no way to order it. The associates offered no solution or apology, which was really disappointing and frustrating, especially considering I would have bought the blouse if they would have taken it off the mannequin! Seemed like a silly store policy and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Google
Staff was extremely helpful. I brought in images of items that i wanted to try on (from the website). Two staff members helped me by quickly grabbing multiple sizes and a dressing room. Even snagged some restaurant reccos as I checked out. Oh and super cute clothes :)

Google
I’ve shopped online, but first Sezane store I’ve visited in person. It was much smaller than I expected, almost more of a showroom? There were a handful of clothing racks, an accessory wall, and a wall of folded sweaters. They didn’t have the clothing items I was looking for, I ended up with 2 jewelry pieces. They didn’t have much of a size selection either, I’d stick to ordering online. The two gentleman working the sweater wall were a delight, but the female associate in back had an extremely rude attitude that drove us out of the store.

Google
I don't know if it's because I am young and was dressed a bit casually, but I genuinely have not experienced such indifference from any sales associate than I have at the Sézane on Elizabeth Street. I received no acknowledgement, let alone help, the entire time I was at the store. I basically had to beg to try on the top I was wearing and am lucky that it was the right size, because no one asked me if I needed a new size or any assistance. Honestly, I am mad that I even stayed and purchased an item from this store. I have shopped at Sézane before at their store in Marylebone, and had the exact opposite experience. The sales associates quite literally gave us brownies on the line. I couldn't even get eye contact. I am a New Yorker. I understand the base-line hostility that even I possess, but I genuinely felt inferior while shopping here. Anyway, I digress. Sézane, you lost a customer (not like you care), and it has nothing to do with the clothes.

Yelp
Love this brand! Sustainable, ethical, stylish, and affordable! Kudos to this location - the person who helped me at the store didn't treat me differently because I asked about and tried women's jeans even though I am a cis gender male. I am grateful and will return often.

Yelp
I read the reviews when I was planning my visit to NY and because beggars can't be choosers and I am not going to Paris anytime soon, decided to take my chances and visit Sezane anyway despite the not so pleasant experiences people have had. I was slightly nervous because my online experience with Sezane has been stellar. I've ordered and returned things with ease (and the one time I had an issue, customer service fixed it quickly and kindly) and the pieces I do have are gorgeous and timeless and I didn't want my in store experience to ruin that. I needn't worry though because it was honestly a 10/10 visit. The only thing I have to complain about is the line outside but the sales associate letting people in and out was so polite and once we were in all the staff we're so attentive and nice. Besides the wall of knits, most things/sizes seem to be in the back but once you're in the dressing room, someone will grab you what you need if they have it. I was worried about selection but they had all 3 pieces I wanted to try on. I ended up purchasing one thing I went looking for and another one that I wasn't looking for. Maybe I got lucky on the day I visited but there were so many shoppers and it must have been overwhelming but the staff were helpful and kind!

Yelp
The jacket I wanted to buy was marked $225 ( all of the jacket tags said $225) at the register they said it was a mistake and the item was actually $255! They would not honor the advertised price , which I believe is illegal in NYC. I emailed customer service to ask to purchase the item at the price marked on the ticket - they also said no - They have definitely lost me as a good customer... poor customer service .

Yelp
I had 3 lovely ladies assist me with a couple of sweaters today. From sizing to the stretch of the fabric, all 3 were super helpful and honest. Although they didn't have all the pieces I was looking for, I walked away with one happy purchase.

Yelp
I have been to this store a few times. They didn't have many clothings items and the quality of the material is worse than I expected.

Peter L.

Yelp
I gave someone some clothing and shoes from Sezane for Christmas. I don't understand why it was such a difficult ordeal to exchange these new unworn items for the correct sizes at their ny store. There is no way to contact the store directly by phone or email but instead you must contact a central contact point and wait. In addition you wait on line to get into the store. It's a bit frustrating. I don't think it's the unpleasant French attitude but more likely an attempt to not be overwhelmed by calls and emails. Like most people we have limited time in which to address issues like returns. Spending a greater part of a day trying to negotiate a simple exchange is frustrating. There must be a better way.

Keeley ..

Yelp
I love their clothing and have made several online purchases and a few at a location in Paris when visiting that have worked out great. However, I went in to the NYC store for the first time and the staff was decidedly rude - as if they were annoyed that someone would need help or ask questions. I waited in line to visit with the sweater bar and asked which sweaters were a v neck vs crew and which could be worn backwards. The associate working answered my questions in between gabbing with her coworker and I didn't hear her or understand. I asked again (with no frustration) and she rolled her eyes in my face and then spoke in a slow condescending voice. I then gave up on understanding their selection and just asked to try one of the sweater in my size, pointing to the color I liked. She huffed when she realized it was on a higher shelf. It was totally unprofessional and rude. I don't know why they spend the money on having a storefront just to treat people like that.

S M.

Yelp
Ridiculous in-store experience. First, you wait in line to get in - sure, I get it, they don't want the store to be crowded. But once you get in, they have a "knitwear bar" where all of the sweaters are folded - you can't touch anything, can't even walk behind the bar (as the store associate rudely pointed out when he rolled a ladder in front of me to keep me from walking any further). Therefore it's impossible to see the cut, pattern or style of any of the 20-odd sweaters without having him take each one down for you individually. They seem to have lost sight of the fact that having a customer is a privilege. I came in ready and willing to purchase something - walked out disappointed at the less-than-pleasant in-store experience, feeling very disillusioned by the seemingly romantic French brand.

Yelp
I recently went to the physical store and was able to use my credit notes for in store purchases which is a big relief for me since the problem to process online purchases is still an issue. The people work in the store are very friendly and helpful and they make you feel welcomed. Shopping in the real store is definitely a much better experience. The online customer services still sucks, one example is when I emailed them to confirm if I can use credit notes to shop in physical stores and their response is "no, you can only use credit notes to shop online." So I did some research on the Sezane website and it did say credit notes can be used at any Sezane stores. I really hope Sezane can improve their customer service because most of the time they just don't know anything and they are useless.

Roanne M.

Yelp
The sales associate in the sweater section was very helpful, pleasant and really explained in detail the different types of sweater.

Yelp
Rude staff. Couldn't bother to help me. Spoke to me slowly and condescendingly like I was stupid. Not knowledgeable about shoe colors and was hesitant about bringing me another size of a boot that I've been eyeing for months. Really was excited to visit the store but I'm super disappointed in the lack of service and friendliness. Definitely will not be returning.

Yelp
I just had a baby and wanted to get myself something special so had been searching for a necklace with baby's first initial. I saw a necklace I liked online, so popped into the sezane store with a friend so I could see it in person. The necklace is actually sold in two pieces: the chain and the pendant. A sales associate got both items, took them out of their respective baggies, and put the pendant on the chain for me, as the pendant was much too small for me to handle. I tried the necklace on, but it was a bit smaller than I expected so I put it back in the baggy, figuring I could loop back if I changed my mind. As I was halfway out the store, the sales person chased after me, accusing me of stealing the pendant because she couldn't see it in the baggy. I told her it was there, so she pulled out the necklace (which she should have done BEFORE accusing me of stealing) and there it was. Despite falsely accusing me, she was fairly unapologetic. Everyone in the store was staring. I don't know if it was because of my appearance or something else, but it was incredibly humiliating and, frankly, left me feeling really hurt and upset. I understand that with so much foot traffic, there must be a decent amount of theft. That being said, it's totally unacceptable to accuse innocent customers of stealing. I really hope that sezane can better train their employees. As you may have expected, I won't be returning back.

Yelp
Love this store but small so the selection of clothing is better online but the staff is super nice!

Yelp
Sézane's pieces are expensive, but occasionally I'm willing to treat myself to some Sézane pieces. On my last trip to New York, I finally got to visit a Sézane store in person. I like their stuff and have ordered online from them in the past. On my first visit to the store, I was on the hunt for the Anastasia hat in gray. Sézane doesn't keep a lot of stock on their website. I was a little frustrated because I had put off ordering the hat online and when I decided to finally buy it, the hat was sold out. Luckily, there was stock at the store. The sales associate even brought me a new one from the back so I didn't have to purchase the floor model that everyone else had tried on. The store has this cute seating area that looks like a French cafe. My husband was able to wait for me comfortably at one of the tables. I'm not sure if it's usually like this, but on the day we were there they had hot coffee available, which was cool.

Yelp
I don't expect anyone to be following the saga of my traveling pants, but I find reviews on quality to be helpful (if only I'd read more of them before purchasing), so hopefully this helps someone else. Sezane accepted the return of my "defective" Olivier trousers and issued me a $25 credit. I was assured this pair had simply slipped by quality control, so I reordered a new pair. Unfortunately, with shipping costs, etc., even with the $25 credit, I ended up paying $10 more than when I purchased the first pair with several other items (which entitled me to free shipping). New pants arrived 2 days before I had to leave town for a month. I tried them on, they fit great, so I packed them in my suitcase. I packed one other pair of pants and selected shirts for each pair to keep my bag light. The first day of my trip, I wore my replacement Olivier trousers to a business lunch. As I stepped out of the car, yep. They split. In the very same place, right down the middle of the rear end. My boyfriend ran into the nearest shop and frantically purchased a pair of leggings. I was a half hour late to my meeting...to which I had to wear leggings. I emailed customer service again and while waiting for a response, basically had to lug a suitcase half-filled with clothing I couldn't wear (ripped pants and shirts meant to wear with them). I realize these are first world problems, and I made do -- whatever. But with that in mind, if I'm going to spend $150 on a pair of pants, I'd really love to just be able to wear them. I don't feel like that's a lot to ask. I was provided a return label to return the second pair of trousers. I was not, however, provided any sort of apology, amenity or acknowledgement of how shottily made these pants are. I have a really difficult time finding clothes I like that fit me this well. I had such high hopes! Alas, if this is what I can expect from Sezane, I will not be purchasing anything else from this brand and will be sharing my experience with anyone who asks. FYI, these were the Olivier Trousers in a US size 8. I am typically a US size 6 (I'm 5'6", 130-135 lbs.), but based on the website measurement recommendations, I sized up.

Yelp
I absolutely loved coming here the first time. I heard of Sezane through influencer Sincerely Jules and she looks great in all their clothes! When I first came to Sezane, they had a lounge area for tea and biscuits, and had a book reading the week prior so I left with a free book. The 2nd time I actually purchased something from the store. The associates were so helpful. They got different sizes for me from the back and also got an unopened shirt that I wanted to purchase since the one on the floor had a makeup stain. When they had wrapped my purchase they also dropped in a free gift which was a nice surprise. It was lovely too - a deep red velvet pouch. My coworker had purchased their clothes online and was disappointed when she got them since the photography really is gorgeous. I'd recommend going into the store to see what you're getting.

Lori G.

Yelp
Been window shopping on the Sezane website for a while so I was excited to visit the store in person. I shopped for about 15 min and tried on a few items and the. left as the service just wasn't the best. The store wasn't that busy either.

Moi M.

Yelp
I routinely ordered from Sezane's website. Placed a very large order online and was not informed at any point that there was an extra $150 customs fee on top of shipping that I would need to pay for. Had I known, I would have never placed the order. It got held up in customs and Sezane told me to fill out the paperwork (did not tell me fedex would be sending me a separate bill). Also didn't tell me I could refuse the package and it would be refunded back to me despite knowing this information the entire time I was in contact with customer service. All I had to do was re-order in smaller parcels and everything would be fine. However, I got slapped with the customs fee charge, ended up returning a few items, and was told "sorry we don't pay customs fees it's in our fine print terms and conditions. Have a good day." Hiding fees in your terms and conditions is not appropriate customer service. The right thing to do would have been to comp the customs charge one-time as a courtesy and I would have stayed a customer. You have been warned. Order at your own risk. I know I won't. *UPDATE* After complaining, Sezane did end up issuing store credit in the amount of FedEx's customs charge. It would have been better if they just issued a refund since I still have to spend it at their store, but at least there was some acknowledgment.

Yelp
I really love the style of Sezane clothing, however the quality of the clothing and customer service is quite lacking. The clothes are no better than Forever 21 quality. I had a top that ripped after wearing it 5 times or so. The highly stylized photos online aren't a good depiction of how the clothing fits or lies and I've had clothes that fit very differently in person than online. On top of that, returns take forever and customer service doesn't stand by their clothing. Maybe I've been spoiled by outstanding customer service from companies like Everlane and Nordstrom. I'd skip this store and this company if you haven't already been sucked in by their cute clothing.

Yelp
its a very expensive store. i ended up buying a pair of socks for 20 bucks. i didn't realize there was tax on them because nyc doesn't charge tax on socks but why do they? weird. someone should look into them. the socks r very cute and wear well. washed and worn a few times already. still holding up. just not sure if i would return right away. yes 20 is expensive for socks but then again so is 14 for certain brands but i love socks so i don't care. i still think they were worth it but they shouldn't have charged tax.

Yelp
new favorite store, and now my go to. i love this brand and how transparent they are with where the piece is made , what materials are used and how to care for the garments. I adore the way the store is set up as well, and all the flowers. def worth a trip when you're in the city. i'm a big fan of the leather goods and tops. i do find the sizing a little tricky, but wonderful customer service to assist.

Yelp
This is related to an online order. UPDATE: It's been a week and I still have not heard from Sezane's customer service. This is abhorrent for retail, especially during the holiday season. I will never shop from this brand again. Now I understand all the negative reviews and false promises from their CS team. "Remaining at my disposal" generic responses on Trustpilot should mean that you actually RESPOND to your customers' inquiries, not wait until they leave negative reviews on Trustpilot. **** Oh, dear. I'm extremely nervous shopping at Sezane after reading the horror stories here and on Yelp. I've spent $1000 over the past two weeks and have an outstanding query with customer service (one of my orders has been duplicated on their site) and I worry this will affect my return. No one has responded to my multiple emails to date and, as a marketing executive, I find it odd that they don't have an autoresponder for their CS emails. Order #: N°4129842. Please note my initial query was about the duplicate orders. I realize that my return is en route and will be processed upon receipt. My concern is two-fold: that the duplicate order will affect the return, and then, based on the reviews here, will my return be processed without heartache. I'm loyal to companies that have a good product AND treat me well post-purchase. Honesty, I'm giving up. I'm assuming I'll never hear from your team & my return will never be processed. I'm selling any returns from my recent orders on Poshmark and will communicate with my credit card company moving forward. I'll also be writing an article on Medium about companies that exhibit subpar customer service (because influencer collaborations won't keep you in business forever--reliable customer experience will).

Yelp
Insta-famous spot. The outside of this place is Floral Heaven. I love the ambiance of the place, however the clothes are too expensive for my taste. Just go check it out to look at the decor. I loved that a lot of the employees were French. They weren't the friendliest but I kind of expected that with the cultural difference.
google avatar

Cathy Z.

Yelp
I really want to like this store and this brand but this is really just another one of those insta famous spots at the end of the day. I first purchased a sweater online 2 years ago, before the store opened, and the sweater was itchy to touch and way smaller on me compared to how it looked on the model (and I'm likely shorter than most models). Then I got a tank top in the summer, but the fabric became wrinkled and hard after 1 wash. I went to check out the store last year, and the store associates were all ignorant (1 French girl and 3-4 American girls I think at the time), not sure if this is because I was Asian or came in gym gear. Asked to try on a sweater in which the website said it was available at store, one of the associates kept on saying they don't have that size and really didn't seem to care. I had to ask 2 more people to search the back and turned out they had lots of them in the back. In conclusion, forever 21 quality for like a 150% markup, poor customer service that'll only be nice to you if you "fit in with the brand"/are an influencer I guess.

Yelp
The quality is bad . The customer service is lacking. The new knitwear is falling apart and the customer service does not really care .

Yelp
I ordered quite a bit of clothing online and went to return & exchange some pieces at their location in Nolita. When I arrived there was a queue of 10 or more people outside to get in the store. There was a guy letting in only a few people at a time. There were hardly any people inside and 4 employees were standing around chatting at the front while we were all outside. I would understand if it was a sample sale, if the place was packed, and maybe even if the staff was crazy busy. It felt like we were waiting to get into some "exclusive" club where they have people queue to make it look like it is packed inside when it's not. I took out my phone and actually took photos and a video because it was so unbelievable. Everyone in that line was shocked and annoyed. I do not see myself going back to their location anytime soon. It's unfortunate because I really like their clothes (so far).
google avatar

Yasmin R.

Yelp
Scheduled a private style appointment via their website. Loved the experience. Roger was my stylist and he went above and beyond. We exchanged emails ahead of our appointment and he delivered on my asks/wants but also introduced me to pieces I wouldn't have otherwise explored. Settled on 5 pieces and I'm super excited to "start" my new collection.

Looblue L.

Yelp
I am from France, I love this brand, I have tons of clothes from them. I am rating one star because I really disliked the service I got by going to the sezane apartment in NYC! I am a good and loyal customer but I would expect someone to be a little bit less rude! She was so cold and so unfriendly, I didn't want to stay longer.
google avatar

Cannelle T.

Yelp
I really like this store. The service is lovely and so are the clothes. But I have a bone to pick with them about the fact they are just randomly close sometimes when the website says they're open. This is the second time I've come to buy something, only to find a sign at the door saying the store isn't open. Cute as the sign is, I am not amused. If you plan to visit, call in advance or something-or just shop online.

Yelp
As I was planning our recent trip to NYC, I made sure to strategically make a Saturday brunch reservation in SoHo. This allowed us to walk over to Sézane after filling our bellies without the guys in our group complaining too much! I adore Sézane the brand as it's impossibly chic in that 'I'm not even trying' French gal way, yet completely accessible. And I adore Sézane the boutique because it's so well curated and thoughtfully designed. From dainty jewelry to the softest sweaters to chunky-heeled suede boots, it was so wonderful getting to see (and try on) some of the new collection in person. The staffers were quite friendly and helpful and quickly led me to some of the items I had bookmarked online. Hopefully, Sézane will someday open a storefront in Chicago. In the interim, I'll continue to sandwich Sézane shopping excursions in between brunch and museums whilst visiting New York!

Yelp
Forget about returns, no customer service telephone to call, apparently no extension on Christmas gift returns. Caveat emptor!

Yelp
I Love Sezane. Unfortunately I've been trying to purchase their signature perfume. I live in the U.S. and can't find anyone to answer my question on how to order. I got the Sezane App. It won't let me register because they don't have my area code to be able to buy anything. I found a bottle of said perfume on eBay a while back and it was $300. I don't have anyone I know who lives in New York to find me a bottle of this perfume. By reading all of the negative comments I see I'm probably never going to be able to get my my hands on the perfume. Which saddens me. I'm pretty sure I won't receive it if I purchase it online if I could get the online store to allow my purchase. I found the phone number to New York. I'm going to give it a try, but now I'm worried it will get to me broken. Seeing a lot of comments about clothing tearing and the quality. So should I or shouldn't I? It's sad that no one else sells this amazing perfume. And if you're lucky enough to find it, you won't get raked over the coals in price point. If anyone knows how I can go about purchasing this much elusive perfume please feel free to send me an email.

Yelp
I purchased a really darling blouse from Sezanne two months ago and have worn and washed it all of two times. I discovered a defect where the collar is stiched to the shirt. The fabric must have been improperly cut and is just shredding and will not stop. To fix it would compromise the shape of the shirt. I've shopped there for myself and gifts many, many times and asked if they would consider an exchange this one time. Instead, they grilled me on what I wash the shirt with, how I wash, what temperature water, what soap, how I dry it, asked for photographs, and then after this what felt like a BAR exam, told my to get it fixed at a tailor and that they could pay the expense (after a tailor has said it cannot be fixed). I will not be shopping there again. There are better brands that stand by the quality of their product enough to admit something is worth damaging out.

Yelp
My favorite boutique. The clothes are beautiful. The quality is superb. The scent is to die for. The customer service is excellent. I always have a lovely experience shopping in Sezane. I will say, some pieces are comparatively overpriced, but I'm addicted so I can't help but return. Thank you Sezane for bringing us joy from Paris! #sezanelovers

Yelp
So disappointed with the quality of the silk shirt I bought and the unresponsiveness of their customer service team. After wearing my shirt two times, it tore at the seam. I promptly contacted their customer service via the email provided two weeks ago and have yet to hear anything. I had been following the brand for a while and high high hopes for the quality of their apparel but in the end of the day I could have just purchased an H&M shirt for a quarter of the cost.

Yelp
There are no phone numbers, they can't afford a phone or employees to take phone calls for phone orders? If you like it chances are they don't have it - everthing is sold out all the time, unlike most retailers like good american they re stock popular items you know bc is business and they want to make a profit- getting ambercobie vibe where everything is exclusive and seemingly exclusionary. Doesn't seem like a good business model isn't the point to make sales? They say they will get back to you - communication and customer service is lacking even high end designers like Alexander McQueen, YSL or Christian Louboutin aren't this difficult to reach or buy products from - sadly I get better customer service from those high end designers seems like they only have 1 size each for each item. An item I wanted sold out in 1.5 days here is a smart idea MAKE MORE you know to make a profit...and how about getting some telephones....

Yelp
I was a big fan until I ran into customer service issues I can no longer overlook. I made the mistake of ignoring the warning they consider sufficient that says there may be duties and to split up large orders up to avoid delays. I was thinking maybe $30 in fees. After I received my large order, I then received a Fex-Ex bill for $300. Sezane didn't care and let me know that they consider their little blurb on the website sufficient. On several previous occasions, I've had to email and sort out returns after only being refunded for a small amount of a large return. It's always been refunded fully, but only after an email saying, "you forgot to refund some of the items." If you are going to order from them. Split up your order!! They will tell fed ex to bill you for huge amounts without contacting you to tell you the duties are so extensive. They are not customer friendly.

Yelp
Honestly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The company does not stand by their products either. Their jumper broke me out in terrible hives and they just said well sorry take it back to London (I live in Boston). Marion in customer service was just so rude and condescending. She then proceeded to tell me to just sell it on Poshmark. Also, they have taken my money twice from returns which has taken many emails to get back. Please, please beware. I will never order again and advise all others to do the same.

Yelp
I wish I could leave zero stars. I purchased a dress in store a few days before Christmas. The dress I tried on was a sample and they brought a fresh one up from downstairs and wrapped it beautifully for me to take home. When I got home and pulled out the new dress to wear that evening I found it had been doused in very strong perfume. I have allergies to many perfumes and was not able to wear the dress. No one asked if I wanted a dress that had been drenched in perfume, or warned me before purchasing. Since the perfume made me physically ill and the dress was not wearable for the event I purchased it for, I decided to return it. I returned to the store this evening, and found a sign on the door saying they were closed until spring. There were six women working inside so I knocked on the door and showed them my bag hoping one of them would tell me how I could complete the return. The women turned their heads when I knocked then immediatley looked away and refused to acknowledge me in any way. What sickening customer service. I will be reporting this to my credit card company as there is now no way to return this purchase, and I was not given notice that they would be closing for so long when I bought the dress.

Yelp
I've been following this brand for awhile since they were an online only retailer and now they have a store in nyc makes me so happy. The service was really great when I asked for a size in an item that was not on the floor but was available according to the site. They gave me the item and brought me over to the fitting rooms promptly. After purchasing I was surprised with a gift of either a handkerchief you could get free embroidering done in store or a small Sézane pouch. I chose the handkerchief where you could be seated on velvet cushions by cafe tables with carafes of water. I loved the small touches in the store that made it feel personable yet high end.

Yelp
I came here for the first time a few weeks ago, and for an event the other night and I am in love with this store. It is aesthetically beautiful, full of gorgeous clothing and shoes along with pretty home wares, including candles and coffee table books. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. The prices aren't too outrageous for a boutique store and I would definitely recommend coming here if in the area and looking for a beautiful store to shop at, or buy a gift for someone.

Yelp
Sézane is one of my main go-to brands for knitwear. They have soft and well-crafted sweaters that are both beautiful in that effortless French way, and also very cozy and wearable. I also love their delicate blouses and silk dresses. Almost everything they make can be easily dressed up or down, and never feels like it's trying too hard. Their leather goods are also simple and gorgeous. My only complaint about their clothing is that some of it (particularly bottoms) are sized smaller than usual. An XS top usually fits like an XS at Sézane but although I wear a French size 34 (or American 0 to 2) in most brands, the same size pants or jeans here will barely go past my hips. I'm a little surprised by all the negative reviews of Sézane's customer service. I've only ever had positive experiences here, and every sales associate I encounter on the floor immediately smiles and greets me. Help is offered frequently in a manner that is friendly but not pushy or intrusive. The boutique is called "L'Appartement" and there are definitely elements that resemble someone's stylish apartment. It has a lounge area with a couch and armchairs, and there are often snacks and drinks served, like coffee, tea, madeleines, and cookies. Once, I was lucky enough to be there when they were serving champagne! The atmosphere is very relaxed and calming. You can browse at your own pace, try things on, and chill on the couch with no one hurrying or pressuring you. And when you make your purchase, there is usually a really awesome free gift thrown in - very pretty items that you will almost definitely use, like a scarf or a leather pouch. It can be a little frustrating at first to see that a lot of their merchandise (especially different sizes for each style) is hidden away in the back room instead of on the shelves, and you have to approach a sales associate to fetch them for you. However, I understand the need to keep the space uncluttered. It looks more beautiful this way and also helps the store feel more like "L'Appartement". I've also come to enjoy shopping this way - all you have to do is ask an employee for your size in all the designs you like, and they will fetch them from the back and add them to your dressing room rack, leaving you to continue browsing leisurely with your arms uncluttered. One of the employees, Maud, is outstanding and such a great ambassador of the brand - charming, funny, chic, and so quintessentially French. She remembers me when I come in, and always goes out of her way to make me feel welcome and taken care of. My main suggestion for Sézane's L'Appartement New York is to carry the special collaborations that seem to only ever be available online and in the Paris stores. I was really looking forward to trying on a couple of sweaters from the Sézane x Manoush line but was informed the line isn't carried in New York when I showed up.

Yelp
With this price you can get much cuter, more timeless and better quality clothes from American brands and receive a lot better customer service. After trying a few of their pieces, I really can't understand the hype, other than the fact that they are famous on insta and they're a french brand?! Honestly these days you can find chic good quality clothes anywhere, you don't have to go to Paris for that :))

Yelp
I love their clothes, but the service was horrible. You have to actually chase down a sales associate if you want help and even if you chase them down, it seems like they don't make an effort to listen to what you want. I had to repeat myself many times, but it seemed like their minds were somewhere else. The sales associate was looking at her nails while saying "let me know when you need more help"...I thought that was kind of rude

Yelp
Walking into this store is a dream! Beautifully decorated. It just gives off the 'French' feel! From the small seating and tea cups in the front to the flowers and scents you smell. The customer services associates were very pleasant and asked right away if I needed any assistance. The store carries clothes, decor and small accessories. Overall besides the store decor and vibe the items don't make me want to return

Yelp
Love Sezane. Love the clothes. Great quality at a great price. The store is beautiful and the staff are very helpful. The only bummer is that they don't sell the perfume. They have bottles out but unfortunately can't sell/ship in the U.S. Every chance I get to get into the city, I love going. Its def an experience. The morning I went they were making crepes outside. After shopping it's nice to sit inside or outside and enjoy the beautiful decor of the store!

Yelp
Very curated style & lovely decoration and garment selection. Unfortunately as much as I'd love to love them (trust me I've spent already a lot there) the horrible & rude customer service is just unbearable for the pieces. The sales associates can't help you & they act as if they're doing you a favor. Totally unnecessary to export that part of my beautiful France. Until they change that I stick to other options like maje, revolve, net a porter to curate my own Parisian style ;) bises

Yelp
Def a insta famous spot with the bike outside and the bonjour New York sign. Love the vibe inside and outside. Def go in and check the place out if not at least the decor. BTW; it's a female clothing store, went with the wife and she loved it.

Yelp
Absolutely unacceptable customer service. I followed their return policy to return most of a large order and they did not refund me what was owed ( in fact, only a third of the amount). They have yet to respond to numerous inquiries sent two or more weeks ago. The clothes are pretty but do not have consistent sizing, thus the need for a reliable return policy. Beware!

Yelp
This company is totally fraudulent. I ordered shirts in August. Still nothing. The shirts are Hocus a Pocus themed for Halloween. I sent them a message in September about the order, and now it is still in transit from China. They are totally stealing money. Cannot give me a current update cause they just sent the order after I complained. If the order is not here by next week, it will go back and I better get refunded. They were on Facebook but have since taken their Facebook page down. Do not order from these crooks!
