Traditional and modern tapas, paella, and Spanish wines served

"A tapas bar from José Andrés within Hudson Yards, part of Mercado Little Spain." - Melissa McCart
"Few plates of food are as unashamedly fried or as genuinely fear-inducing to the weak stomached as La Barra’s fried chicken. It comes in three sizes, the smallest of which could tide you over for a week. The batter created in the kitchen of this basement Colombian spot in Elephant & Castle is otherworldly-looking: swirled and jagged, with a golden brown crunch that looks like it’s come from another dimension, while the chicken inside remains perfectly moist. A side of chicharrónes and plantain is totally welcome." - jake missing
"La Barra is the requisite tapas restaurant in Mercado Little Spain, the Spanish market and food hall in Hudson Yards. It's in the middle of the market and easy to spot with red Spanish tiles, colorful flags, and pitchers of sangria on every table. In addition to the usual suspects like patatas bravas and croquetas, the menu has regional specialties like Sevillan mollete de pringá made with crusty buns, and fluffy Mallorcan ensaimada, a pastry filled with spicy chorizo spread. There’s usually a wait, but once you get a table, feel free to spend an extended Happy Hour here and then pick up a bottle to take home from the wine shop next door." - Neha Talreja
"Peerless pica pollo, Dominican fried chicken, is available from La Barra, under the arch in Eagles Yard, Elephant and Castle for takeaway." - James Hansen

"Operating as a full-service tapas and wine bar, La Barra serves a full tapas menu featuring Spanish icons like patatas bravas and empanadas and shares its menu with its sister bar Vinos." - Carla Vianna
