La Barra de Kaymus

"A restaurant with a modern feel, located in a residential district, hence its location slightly away from the city centre. It features a single dining room plus a pleasant private space, where Valencian chef Nacho Romero focuses on simply prepared, contemporary-style dishes which are nonetheless skilfully prepared, including rice dishes (here, paella is seen as “a dish that brings families and good friends together”) and reasonably priced menus. Highlights include the Kaymus salad with a seafood salpicón, the croquettes, and the cod fritters." - Michelin Inspector

We were thrilled to find such a great local restaurant close to where we were staying in Valencia. Our hosts had recommended it and it did not disappoint. Chef Patron Nacho Romero runs a wonderful restaurant, very simple with really great food and guidance regarding wine also. We enjoyed Dinner greatly; indeed, we returned again for another splendid meal on our final night in Valancia. The servers too were really great. Thank you Nacho and Team

We went there since we saw it as a Bid Gourmand on the Michelin App… what a deception… the restaurant is quite small with an automatic glass door always opening on a very busy road. The waitress is lovey but service is so slow and not perfect and we have had to wait a good 15min in between dishes. Portions were rather small and lacking of flavour. The best thing had been the black olive bread with was delicious. And parking is impossible in the area. I would not recommend it.

Good quality food and reasonably priced. Very helpful staff. Since I was dining alone, they were able to prepare a set of small portion courses for me to try most of the dishes on their menu.

A very disappointing experience, we were very excited for this restaurant as it was highly recommended. However, we were brought a paella that must have been reheated from earlier as it was somehow cold AND burnt at the same time. We mentioned it to our waitress and we had the chef, Nacho, come to us and super rudely say we had to "stir" the paella??? After much stirring and no surprise it was still cold. Very disappointed, charging premium prices for a mediocre experience - we had much better paella in the centre. Would not recommend especially with how rude the chef is.

Extraordinary cuisine in a Trendy restaurant. We had a meal in this restaurant by a recommendation from my sister in law. We were amazed by the taste, quality, service and fusion of different tastes. The setting is very modern and pleasant. We went for the X-press tasting menu which had ample starter selections and mains. The price was surprisingly very reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and diversity in the menu. The food served had good flavours and made with fresh, Rich ingredients. Nacho and his team need to be very proud of their food and service.... definitely a Michelin Star knocking on the door! Keep up the good work and I hope this review brings many customers. One of the best restaurants in VLC! 👍👍

Not bed, and the food were special too, but the main dishes disappointed us, the ribs was too dry, what a pity !

An all around outstanding experience. The service was delightful, the ambience pleasant, and most importantly the food was top notch. It is not in the city center which means by definition its not so touristic. In this part of Spain Paella is a must try, but alas it is par encargo in this restaurant so you must remember to call ahead. That said the Arroz del seynoret was perfect. Noteworthy was also the ensalada de tomate valenciano con bonito escabechado and ensalada kaymus. Two thumbs up.
