The Best Hangover Cure Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Michael Lopez, Michel Lim and Michel Nguyen’s Vietnamese restaurant will whip up classic aromatic bowls of broth and noodles, sure, but their menu packs a lot of more hangover cure-adjacent options too, like cheesy ramen, a poutine pho where the broth is used to make a banger of a sauce, and banh mi burgers." - JP Karwacki

17 Restaurants for Group Dining in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Vietnamese-Korean fusion is the main event at this colourful, funky spot that might be the only place in the world where pho and poutine meet on the menu. They will happily take reservations for groups of up to 40 — just call or email to reserve your group." - JP Karwacki

The Best Restaurants in Montreal’s La Petite-Patrie | Eater Montreal

"La Belle Tonki is beloved for its riffs on the poutine, like the Kimcheesy, a mashup of fried cheese curds, a spicy cheddar ramen sauce, and kimchi, or the Dac Biet, featuring beef three ways (braised, carpaccio and meatball) and a pho-based gravy. It’s also a safe bet for vegans, who can sample most of the dishes on the menu with some slight modifications. With takeout on the rise, La Belle Tonki has started a sustainability program — after returning five clean containers, customers get two free imperial rolls. Need another reason to go?" - Eater Staff

The Best Vietnamese Restaurants for Pho in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Rarely does Triple AAA-certified beef figure prominently on a pho menu, but longstanding Vietnamese restaurant La Belle Tonkinoise and its newer, cooler offshoot, La Belle Tonki (over on Beaubien), are big on quality. The former serves lunch, while the roomier Belle Tonki has taken over dinner service, adding funky menu items inspired by traditional Vietnamese cuisine, such as poutine with braised beef, homemade meatballs, and pho gravy. Bonus: it has local beers from 4 Origines, kombucha, and fun cocktails like the Old Feng Shui with bourbon, five-spice syrup and Thai green chili bitters."

I tried the Ramen and Poutine DAC Biet at La Belle Tonki, and both completely blew me away. The Ramen Laksa was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor a perfect balance of spice and coconut that warmed me up in the very cold night instantly. The Poutine DAC Biet was another highlight, classic Quebec comfort food with a fun twist. Crispy fries, melty cheese curds, and that savory gravy that ties everything together. You can tell they put real care into combining Asian and Montreal street food Fusion in a way that totally works. Ending everything with their Creme Brulee Cafe Viet et Amaretto. The vibe of the place was super chill and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Not to mention the Manga/Old School/Gaming vibe that you get from the decoration! Definitely we'll be back for more from this spot.

Google
All around solid meal! We got a variety of dishes: poutine with meatballs/fried chicken, noodles with shrimp paste, papaya salad - all of which were highly delicious. I like that they had a good mix of traditional Southeast Asian dishes and those with a Montreal twist. Vibes were also excellent inside the restaurant.

Google
Amazing experience! Wonderful little place, the decor was something to take your attention. The food options were great, we tried the poutine, chicken burger, and carpaccio(!!!) - all were great! Also tried the beers (NEIPA and Stout) - amazing flavors!

Google
after Street Monkeys, I wanna give la belle Tonki full 5 stars, honest business, decent food, good quantity, meets my expectations for Asian fusion.

Google
Over-endorse this place, better than a great dining experience. Delicious morue amok, dumplings, & pho bò— and good cocktails. Also ambience. So low key but very hip and warm. Friendly service.

Google
The food is large and filling, and the price/performance ratio is high. But once you go there, you will understand that the real attraction here is actually the atmosphere. The unique Vietnamese food is completely different from the usual Vietnamese noodles and lemongrass barbecue meat rice. Avg $35 per person, first come first served, children are allowed, it is recommended to arrive before 6 pm,otherwise there will be a queue.

Google
I’ve seen a lot on IG and always wanted to go but never had the opportunity. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Everything was fantastic! I had a bao bun-type dish that was super delicious, along with dumplings and 2 poutines! The décor was fun - a lot to look at - I especially loved the collage on the walls. I had a cocktail, made with pineapple+ tequila —perfectly balanced flavors. Great food, great atmosphere, great music. Definitely a fun place to go with some friends. *There was a little lineup to get in. But we did have reservations so the wait wasn’t long.

Google
We planned to try this place based on my cousin's recommendation and it was so yummy. If you are a traditionalist you may oppose but try before you make that call. The flavours were exciting fresh and a symphony on your palette. It was their 7th anniversary so they had a special set menu 😋. The service was amazing. The are thoughtful and proud of thier establishment. The atmosphere was fun relaxed and inviting ... my kind of place. As Arnie would say ... I'll be back!

Yelp
This is a Cambodian & Vietnamese fusion restaurant! We have been here multiple times and each time the food & service has been excellent! Last time I ordered a Kimchi Poutine with Popcorn chicken and it was delicious. All the ingredients pair together well and it's really an interesting fusion of flavours in every bite!! Special shout out to the service! They are friendly and accommodating. Ambiance is laidback and has a great vibe! Definitely recommend a visit!!

Yelp
Fun place. Love the decor (ghetto blasters and bespoke wallpaper?), and the music. Didn't realize you could make resos, so had to wait. No big deal. Good food, and drinks. Tried the more traditional items such as the cod and the vegetable of the day. My dining companion had the kim chi, fried chicken poutine and the ube Vietnamese coffee tiramisu. Everything was great. Definitely going back!

Yelp
LOVE! one of my favourite restaurants in all of Montreal. They have amazing Vietnamese food with a modern twist. My absolute favourite is the Kimchi Poutine... fried chicken with a spicy sauce and cheese over fries... what is not to like!?!? I've tried many other things on the menu and all are very very good. Cocktails are great. Service is excellent. Would highly recommend coming here if you are in neighborhood.

Yelp
A friend of mine who lives in Montreal told me about this place ages ago and I never got around to getting there last time I was there. Finally getting there, I understood. The place is pretty neat inside - Sylvia calls the decor "funky" and that is a pretty exact way to do it. Lots of neat and unique cocktails and a menu that's got lots of options without being overwhelming. Poutine Dac Biet splits nicely and was amazing. Great cocktails - especially the Tofu Fa and Old Feng Shui. I almost wish I was hungrier to try more things, but I'll definitely be back to try more.

Yelp
Amazing food and fun atmosphere! The chicken sandwich and the Roti Nutella dessert were absolutely delicious!

Yelp
Don't sleep on their kimchi poutine. It sound weird, but it WORKS. The fried chicken, the squishy cheese curds, the spicy sauce. This was so good. It was my first poutine and it ruined me for the rest of the trip. I got a small beef pho as well, the broth is good, it's got more depth than lots of other places I've been to in the states, but they are a little light on noodle quantity.

Yelp
The place is small and cozy. They have great and friendly staff. Their food is also good but the portions are small for the price.

Yelp
J'adore ce restaurant! La bouffe est delicieuse unique et les gens qui y travaillent rayonnent

Yelp
Super cute place with great deco. Overall the food is great! I just found the pho to be with very few noodles.

Yelp
I've been here several times, for takeout as well as in the dining room. Yummy food, funky decor and a friendly vibe. Family friendly, but serves alcohol so you can have a drink while your kids eat noodles or Kim-cheesy poutine. I've had most of the menu items and have never been disappointed!!

Yelp
One of my new favorite spots in Montreal! I'm so glad that our air bnb ended up being across the street of it. That's how we found it. My husband loves poutine, so we ordered the, "dac biet and Kim-cheesy" poutine. We fell in love with the Kim-cheesy. Fresh cheese curds and really good Kim chi. We ordered it 4 times that weekend. Hahaha the dac biet was okay. I wouldn't order it again. Keep up the great job guys The restaurant was always packed every night and had good loud music. The owners actually said hi and introduced themselves to us while we were waiting for our food. Since we ordered out. I don't think this place would be kid friendly. Definitely a hipster place.
