I'm in love and I'm so thankful I found this place when I did. Now that certain hell has been unleashed on Minnesota and them gays can get married*, I know it will only be a matter of time until people will be marrying sea monkeys, flip flops and bakeries.
I already proposed to this one in preparation so if everyone could back the fuck off, that'd be great.
It's like a time warp here. I'm pretty sure the prices haven't been this low anywhere since 1983.
That being said, however, the quality of the products being provided is nothing short of stellar. They sell bread (uncut loaves, rolls, French bread, etc), sweet loaves (banana, lemon poppy seed, pumpkin, raspberry, etc), donuts, bars, cakes, cookies and coffee. This is one of those places where they make you feel welcome when you come in.
The raspberry loaf is something I probably shouldn't be able to access so easily. It's soft, sweet and laden with fresh raspberry pockets (they list all of their ingredients on each loaf--nothing weird goes into them). My favorite way to eat it is by unhinging my jaw and pretending I won't look like Danny Devito after a few too many.
It's a small, cheap, feel good, simple sort of bakery. You aren't going to find any shaved truffle and honey ganache dipped cherry chicken fritters here.
That's okay because they do the basics and they do them exceedingly well. They also accept cards and have pretty ample street parking (they're on a corner lot).
To give you a quick idea of how cheap they are, my girlfriend and I got out of there yesterday with a large cup of coffee, one donut, a raspberry tart and a raspberry loaf for a little over five bucks. My lawyer advises me to add that I cannot be held accountable if you pull a hip out in an attempt to rush here.
* Thank you, Minnesota. I didn't think I could possibly love you any more... but I do.
