We were a party of 7 overall with a table booked at 2pm. We all promptly arrived but our table was not "quite" ready. After sitting down a waitress came over and set down 1 wine menu and waited for our orders. After departing our table, some 35 minutes later our drinks still had not arrived. After grabbing the attention of another member of waiting staff, we again asked "where are our drinks"?. "Some" drinks came to our table more time later and one of our party had to go to the bar and get the rest. Having not been to this restaurant previously, at any point, no member of the waiting team at explained the process of ordering food. We saw people queuing at a counter who looked like they were ordering food so our party decided to follow suit. This was nearing an hour of being in the restaurant. We duly ordered food, some of our party ordered the set menu and again we waited, and waited, and waited another 40 minutes for the set menu starters to arrive. Well, they did and once finished it was another 30 minutes before the main courses to arrive. Arrive they did, some 2 hours and 20 minutes minus our side orders of Garlic Bread and another bottle of Wine which was ordered in between the starters and main courses. Had it not been for a fairly decent main course, 1 star review would have been left. We asked for the bill to find that tue wine we ordered which had not arrived was still on there. This was 3 hours and 30 minutes from arriving in the restaurant. We had to say something as the service was probably one of THE worst experienced at ANY restaurant. The restaurant organised 2 sitings of which we were obviously on the second of the 2. Almost tye waiting staff seemed to be rinning around like headless chickens and we experienced the worst of it.
As compensation the restaurant did not give us any kind of discount off the bill. 10% or 15% would have been barely acceptable after the low to no service we experienced. What the restaurant did decide to do was remove the bottle of wine we ordered but didn't receive, a glass of wine and a bottle of beer. After spending night on £470, we had a glass of wine and a bottle of beer taken off......a total of 3.1%...
Never, ever again, will I step into this overpriced, understaffed and unduly shambolic restaurant where guest experience is not considered a priority but cram in as many people as you can't cope with. You had a chance to make amends and failed miserably......your other reviews say it all....
