La Brea Bakery - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This long-standing cafe and bakery is giving away 100 meals per day to hospital workers as part of their Frontline Meals Program. More information can be found here. They’re also open for pick-up, and delivery is available through most platforms. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Absolutely breathtaking food and service! The venue is clean and we were greeted quickly. This place is where you order and they give you a number to take back to a table. You seat yourself. The smells lure you into a raging hunger and the displays are very appetizing. The food was delicious and flavorful! There was a plethora of food options. They also sell adult libations to moisten your palette as you shovel the food into your mouth. I definitely recommend this place!

Avocado toast and a breakfast sandwich with two regular brew coffees came out to $48. Even though that's pretty standard for breakfast in LA these days, I would like for the breakfast to be worthy of the price. I didn't love the brew, and my avocado toast had a very whipped avocado, which kind of changed the taste. I didn't love that either. My friend loves the breakfast sandwich. It's delicious and filling. Last time I got a bagel from their bakery, which I thought would have been fresh, but it was stale and terrible. I do like that they have outdoor seating. I don't like that you can only valet your car and that the time limit is only 1 hour or you will be charged $8. Republique is next door, so I'll be trying that next time for sure.

Super cozy place with awesome bakery and bread. We had breakfast from avo bruschettas and pesto pasta. I didn’t really like onions in my bruschettas but combination of avo and oranges was 👌. And danishes with raspberries and apricots were really delicious. Also they have a free parking for an hour that’s quite enough for breakfast

Great food with so much variety. We ordered 2 omelette that's perfectly cooked, seared tuna salad with multiple grains and veggie and banana pacan toast. It's the Go-to place for the locals. Average price per dish $10-$12.

This place has one of the most unique avocado toast I’ve ever had! It’s got orange, and radish and pistachios and things you would usually not associate with an avocado toast and may have a hard time imagining how it’s all going to come together. But there’s a method to this madness. It somehow comes all together beautifully and creates a burst of flavors in your mouth. The orange adds freshness, pistachios add the crunch, radish breaks the monotony of the usual flavors and avocado simply gets to be the star of the dish. They do bake fresh breads there, so your toast is also going to be mouth-watering. It’s a bit expensive, but worth it in my humble opinion.

Nice, relaxing cafe for a brunch. A bit on the pricier side in my opinion like having brunch in NYC, but that's what you get in this neighborhood. Portion is on the smaller side, but it's filling enough. I had the pecan french toast which was not as sweet as it sounds and that's how I like my sweets. My husband had the chicken, gravy and biscuit and he really liked the biscuit (he usually complains it's not Southern enough). The chicken was very good too (ugh he had the better choice this time).

This was my first visit to La Brea Bakery. I didn't have much expectation, I thought this would be one of usual bakery. But found out to see they have dine-in tables and actual meals in their menu. Since I love to try anything new, I decided to dine-in and have their breakfast. I decide to have their B.E.L.T. Sandwich. The Sandwich came with Taos Potatoes which was plus. The Sandwich taste pretty good especially the egg was over easy, and made the Sandwich very tasty. The bacons was pretty thick. The price is not too cheap (my Sandwich was $15) but I guess those are going rate for anywhere in descent restaurant now days. But over all my experience with the restaurant is pretty good. Oh the waitress were very friendly and gave me really good service. I would come back if I am aroma JD this area again and try their Pecan Stuffed French Toast since I love any type of French Toast.

Wow everything about this restaurant was well executed. From the valet parking the moment we got there (which is reasonably priced; $8/hr, first hour is free!) to the food and the service! We ordered at the cashier and had a pleasant interaction. When we sat down, a server came around promptly with our drinks, then another person came by asking if we needed anything, then someone came with our food and then someone else came to check in after that. All very friendly interactions. And The food was spectacular! You can tell that they use very fresh products and take great care in how they prepare everything. Reasonably priced and with small outdoor patio. Will definitely be coming back again!
