The 12 Best Outdoor Bars In London - London - The Infatuation

"La Camionera is a hot place for hot people to do very hot things, including but not limited to, mainlining olives and eyeing up an exceptional fig tree. This Hackney spot is London’s most talked-about lesbian bar. By day, it’s all about cold brew and croissants, but come evening they have achieved a full, gay, Mediterranean fantasy primed for Campari cocktails and playing card games." - heidi lauth beasley

21 Standout LGBTQIA+-Owned Restaurants & Gay Bars In London - London - The Infatuation

"La Camionera is London’s most talked-about lesbian bar. From the team behind Dalston Superstore’s hottest trans masc night body2body, Alex Loveless and Clara Solis worked tirelessly, funded by the community, to open this bar on Well Street. With shiny stainless steel stools, a warm terracotta colour scheme, and a fig tree in the garden, they have achieved the full, gay, Mediterranean fantasy in Hackney. Serving coffee and pastries during the day, and wine and cocktails in the evening, La Camionera is a sexy, laid-back alternative to east London’s louder queer destinations." - rachel rumbol

La Camionera - Review - Hackney - London - The Infatuation

the whole place was so cute! I loved the vibe and the outdoor space was so big! my girlfriend and I arrived around 1pm and we started off with a latter and matcha and shared a buttery banana bread! they were all so yummy, the staff is super attentive and kind. The bathroom is huge and clean! I especially loved when the place started getting a bit busier and you could feel the community that has been built up around the location!

The vibes and aesthetic of this bar are absolutely gorgeous - it’s perfect for a spot to chill in the evening and the staff were so friendly! The drinks are relatively reasonably priced for London and they have a small selection of cocktails too! I came for the singles night and whilst i loved the atmosphere, it was too busy to really hear people and would’ve been much better if the speed dating was organised with sheets of paper with peoples names and number on or if people had name tags, as it was really difficult to hear what people were saying and catch a vibe within 3 minutes, as well as remembering 20 or so people’s names. As the night went on as well it just kept getting busier, so a lot of people didn’t manage to get a seat or get involved in the speed dating. However, it definitely felt like a very safe space though and i’m aiming to come back soon!

super welcoming staff, me and my partner enjoyed a few drinks outside and the banana bread which was to die for! would definitely recommend for a queer welcoming atmosphere.

Really loved the vibe! The space is small but cozy and candlelit. There is a patio with outdoor seating as well.

Im not sure if I understand this place. My partner was really excited to try it so we came around 10 expecting to get a drink and walked in to a crowded/buzzing but still standing room available space (like most popular bars). We were then intercepted and told that if we weren’t meeting people then we needed to leave.….the server was really nice about it but still, we came all the way from south London to go to a decent lesbian bar and being turned away for a drink feels weird and shitty. It definitely left us deflated and ruined our night. What time are you supposed to arrive at a place to get a drink before it closes? I thought they were open till 11:30 on Saturday. Genuinely stumped and disappointed about this as we were both really looking forward to trying here. I wonder if there’s something culturally I’m not getting - moving from Brooklyn where if there’s space to walk in you can get a drink no matter what at most bars? If you have a last entrance time make that clear or have a bouncer at the door. Getting in and being told to leave just feels awful especially at a queer bar where you’re supposed to feel welcome // belong. I don’t know if we will come back after reading reviews from other BIPOC people feeling unwelcome.

Been here a few times and the service is usually fine, like the service was nothing special but never had any bad encounters, but when I went last week the bar staff were really rude to myself and my friends. We were spoken to like we were stupid the whole time and it threw off the entire night, and every time we were brought drinks the staff were really cold and acted like they didn't want us to be there. Was pretty unpleasant and I don't think that I'll be going back. I had friends visiting from abroad that I'd been hyping la camionera up to and they were disappointed and had a bad time, ended up leaving pretty quickly and finding a different bar. I do usually love it here so I was bummed to have experienced it in this way, I think the staff should be warmer like even if you don't like a group of guests for whatever reason, you should be professional and respectful, that's just a baseline.

I love this bar. The interiors, the staff, the ambience and the culture are stunning. Service can be slow and there is only one toilet, but it's a busy place and it's a compromise I am willing to make for what has always been a delightful experience.

Lovely place and amazing to have the space, really nice atmosphere! Such a shame that the acoustics in the place are awful, it’s so loud from people talking you cannot hear a thing! I tried the speed dating which was made very intense by everyone having to shout to be heard. I’m not a sound expert but I think it can be fixed with some panelling or something!
