Great Italian food away from the tourist area. We had no reservation but arrived early and the owner/manager was kind and jovial. Our server was very patient and did an outstanding job. Solid, value-driven wine list. Now, the food: it was excellent. Many homemade pasta dishes, meat and fish of the day. Homemade sausages, prosciutto cut right there, and locally sourced products like truffles and meats/fish.
I started with a basic rocket and parmesan salad. Co-pilot had an amazing cream of mushroom soup w/bacon and poached egg. I should have ordered it for myself! My main was the meat of the day: three different meats in a pot au feu type dish. Excellent, simple flavors. Co-pilot had the homemade spinach gnocchi in a white cream sauce. It was wonderful. Dessert was a creme brûlée. Make sure you make a reservation. It is a lovely dining experience.
