Where To Eat For Under $10 In Mexico City - Mexico City - The Infatuation
"Casa de Toño is famous for its pozole, and they have several locations throughout the city. A large is about $5 and usually more than enough for one person—we recommend the maciza (lean, white meat pork) or the zucchini blossom and mushrooms. The crispy potato flautas are also excellent, especially when dipped in a side of melted cheese, and you can’t leave without finishing your meal with arroz con leche. The service is efficient and warp-speed fast, but you won’t be rushed through your meal." - guillaume guevara

"GO: for all the Mexican classics you love, on the cheap. La Casa de Toño is a great spot for a big crew, or when you just need to eat various combos of meat, cheese, and tortillas.
ORDER THE: pozole. That alone should be enough to fill you up, but why stop there when there are flautas, enchiladas, quesadillas, and tostadas calling your name...
THE VIBE IS: bustling. Expect gatherings of all sizes of families and friends. And a crazy efficient waitstaff that might even clear your plate before you've had the last bite.
PRACTICAL STUFF: There are several locations of La Casa de Toño and not all of them are 24-hours. See here for more info.

"Gerson also says they take inspiration from the Mexico City pozoleria Casa de Toño, which served just pozole and flautas when it opened." - Chris Crowley
This Mexican restaurant was okay in terms of food the flavors were decent, though nothing particularly memorable. However, the service really stood out. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy atmosphere that made the experience enjoyable. While the food was just alright, the great service and pleasant vibe are commendable.

Plenty of tables, service was fast and very attentive. Food was delicious. We order the huevos mexicana and the chilaquiles rojo con pollo y dos huevos, a couple of jugo verdes and delicious cafe de olla. Food came out quick. We paid with a card. Very good experience for us. The pics in reviews are not good so i hope mine look better. Buen provecho!

The pozole rojo was great, not the best but very good standard, also really enjoyed the chilaquiles verde, had a michelada also but wasn't that great so don't reccomend.
Quick service, though can be very popular and you might have to wait with a ticket to get a seat at busier eating hours.
Serves typical Mexican food at decent prices.

I got recommended this place and it was pretty good. Well known by many locals, so you have to wait a bit. You get a number and then you can take the elevator up.
But the staff is pretty quick.
Food is delicious.

Excellent food. The pozole was to die for. We had the chicken pozole. The enchiladas and flautas were also great. Their drinks were also great. There may be a wait, but you won’t wait for long. Grab your number and try it out.
