We went for bottomless mimosas and it was delicious! We also got bellinis and bloody marys. The breakfast was also very good, I got the avocado toast. We finished off our breakfast with some chocolate cake. Highly recommend this place for brunch, will come again!!

La Cava has a lively atmosphere that works equally well for a date night or a low-key girls’ night. There’s outdoor seating and happy hour specials, which make it even more appealing. The food was surprisingly impressive—the chicken Caesar salad and salmon main were both delicious. Service was attentive and made for an enjoyable evening.

My wife and I have had so many milestones at this wonderful restaurant. We had our first date here outdoors in December of 2020 and have shared so many memories and celebrations here since then! The food is delicious, happy hour is great and they have a great selection of wines and cocktails. Amazing service from the wait staff as well. Five stars!

La Cava was definitely a top favorite restaurant I went to in New York city when I came to visit. Incredible pasta, drinks, and dessert. The service was great. It was my dad’s bday and the server (also the owner), celebrated my dad’s bday with music and a cheesecake and shots. He’s so happy with the birthday celebration!

As an out of town solo visitor, I’ve come here two nights in a row. The paninis are delicious and the filet mignon with mashed potatoes was perfect! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Excellent happy hour and fantastic wine selection. I look forward to coming back the next time I’m in town.

La Cava is a great place for a fun date night or to catch up with friends! I went with a group of six and enjoyed the prosciuttos burrata and salmon tartar as appetizers; they were terrific!! The servers were very polite, and the food came by quickly. As the main dish, we ordered Vodka pasta, which was good. I ordered mine with chicken instead of shrimp, and it was good. The fillet mignon came with mashed potatoes and green beans sautéed in mushroom sauce; it was delicious. The place was an enjoyable and chick environment; I recommend it to anyone near midtown.

Cozy wine bar that's casual to go out with friends, work colleagues, family. Happy hour is from 3-6pm although the Malbec and Pinot noir happy your wines were underwhelming. The appetizers were decent. We got a 2 type cheese plate. The goat cheese was very good but the portions were on the smaller size. The bruschetta was nice as well as the duck pate and chocolate mousse cake.

Loved the cozy ambience, friendly staff, great happy hour, and excellent food. Overall, a fantastic experience--I'll be back.

Great little bar and restaurant in midtown East. The kitchen is literally the size of an office desk. It was so tiny and I couldn't believe the cook was back there, slinging it and making it happen! The bartender was very service oriented and it's a nice Vibe. I just went in for a few drinks and I can't wait to come back and try some of their food which looked amazing!.

We came on a Thursday and (luckily) had a reservation, which we were so glad because it got so busy! Clearly a really well-liked place, with a great wine list and a lot of food options from tapas to bigger entrees, which I really liked. We had a party of 6 and ordered 2 bottles the Tempranillo and it was fabulous. We got the olives, which were okay- they seemed to be not that fresh but the cheese and prosciutto were really good. Others got pastas and salad and everyone really enjoyed their food, though it was definitely on the pricier side imo. I thought the space was nice and the service was great!

I was sexually harassed by who appears to be the owner/manager-- Alijah. Alijah told me that he owned La Cava as well as two other places in the area. I went with my relative, and Alijah continued to buy us drinks on the house. One of the first things he said to us when he arrived was that he liked "a hairy pussy... a Republican pussy." He then told me that our server, Robert (I will conceal his real name), was single. He asked me if I was single, and when I said yes, he gestured for Robert to go out with me. Robert said, in Spanish, "it's not the time." He then asked if my relative was single, and, when he found out that my relative was single, Alijah sent a female coworker (I will conceal her name) to be introduced to my relative. By the end of the night, Alijah attempted to ensure that I come the next day so that he could "treat me," and he told Robert, "make sure she comes tomorrow." By the end of the night, Alijah told me, "of course I want to get in your pants..." and I recorded this. I left immediately after he asked me whether I had been recording him. But many uncomfortable and sexual statements had been conferred to me and my relative by this point. I am in my early 20s, and I have lived in NYC for 5-6 years now. I get hit on by creeps all the time. However, what bothers me deeply is when these creeps feel so comfortable acting this way as a worker, let alone the OWNER. I will not be returning to La Cava.

I sat at the bar and had a couple of glasses of wine and an app. The bartender was great; she was friendly and attentive without being hovering. They have a nice wine selection for all price points, including a solid happy hour. I tried the melon and prosciutto. The prosciutto was great, cantaloupe could have been a little riper. The whole place has a great vibe. Would definitely go back.

Ambience was cozy, but I stopped in with my boyfriend for 30 minutes before a dinner nearby and we were extremely rushed. He was taking off his coat and was asked right away if he was going to be sitting down or not which was off putting, and we were asked if we wanted to refill for another glass, though we had wine left in our glasses, five times in the span of 10 minutes. There are many wine bars nearby, which I've enjoyed without the feeling of being rushed and would recommend those instead.

The bartender is the best. The steak i had today was awesome. I had a medium steak out of this world. La Cava has the best atmosphere. I have been coming here for 4 years and love it. Recommend it highly

I pass this place so many times on my walk back home from the gym, TJ, or what not. I used to live across the street from this place, but never went. A guy I have been dating picked this place to meet. I got there earlier and he was late (per usual). I waited for him by ordering a glass of wine, which was not good at all. I looked over the menu and could not for the likes of me find anything that I wanted. I looked over the menu on Yelp and their website and nothing looked all that good or made sense. When my guy finally arrived, I made a reservation at some other place nearby, paid for my drink, and left. I was a bit doubtful that the food would be good if the wine wasn't all that good. I don't think I will give this place a take two because I was not all that impressed and never been to a place where nothing on the menu was appealing.

Stake tartare was good. Pastas were amazing. Really nice service. Can't believe this place is right next to my dorm and I just tried it after a whole year

The service was good and we sat outside and I love the ambiance of sitting outside on the street but maybe that's because I'm a New Yorker and I live for that plus the view of the city while I eat I always enjoy . The food itself was okay I personally would have like my egg yolk to be just egg yolk the egg white part kinda gave a slimy texture and I didn't care for that but the flavors were there I wasn't super hungry so I just had the tartare but as long as they just put the egg yolk next time I would have enjoyed it more . Also the bread was barely toasted and was soft and chewy would have liked more of a toasty crunch on it.

La Cava is a cute wine bar in Midtown east with good happy hour deals! I went with a group on a Thursday evening and it was full but not packed, the music wasn't too loud, and the ambiance was great. I can only speak to the happy hour deals but my friends and I enjoyed La Cava for good wine and beer deals. $8 glasses of wine and $5 beers are some of the best deals in the area. Servers were kind and checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. The only downside is that happy hour ends at 6 so if you are leaving midtown after a workday you may be cutting it close when it comes to ordering drinks before happy hour ends. We wished there were happy hour app deals or easy bites to order and enjoy along with our wine.

(Last visited 12/6/2020.) In the city doing Christmas-y things for the weekend and it's time for our weekend brunch! It's actually quite difficult choosing just a single place to get some bottomless mimosas in New York City, but out of the hundreds we had to choose from, today was La Cava's day! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is so cute, chic and calming. The restaurant is elongated with tables on either side until you get to the place where the bar rail takes over on the right side. The dark wood floors add to the elegance and upscale feel of this quaint spot. The vibe was so chill, decently quiet and truly peaceful. Service: I can't remember the gentlemen's name, but he took excellent care of us. He actually runs another restaurant in the city, which I'm drawing a blank on right now, but... nonetheless, it was such a grand experience and a lot of it had to do with him. He was funny, sweet, talkative and just made sure we had the best time possible. Food: The bottomless mimosas are what drove us here and we very glad with what came out. The drinks were a pale orange (as they should be) and not heavy on the orange juice. We were served our mimosas in our own little adorable carafe that would just get refilled whenever we ran out. They were delicious. For my brunch entrée I went with the Steak Panini. It's steak (I'm unsure of what cut) with sautéed onions, mushrooms and bleu cheese crumbles all between 2 slices of focaccia bread. It was very delicious. It's served with a very small salad and handful of fresh chips. Everything was delicious and not terribly filling. That's kinda what you want! I'd absolutely get it again. Value: Bottomless mimosas will run you $25.00 per person and you're limited to 90 minutes, but if things are slow and you're nice they'll keep pouring you. They do it Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am to 4:00pm. My Steak Panini was $19.00 so my whole meal was totally worth it. Worst Staff Ever! This place is disgusting, horrible and rude service. Me and my girl went there Monday night, this male bartender, his name is Marco / Marcopolo he seems cool at the first, but little too comfortable talking to us. Then this two weirdo came into the bar, they said they are movie director & actor, the C Level actor. They were started harassing us and using inappropriate words. Then one of the guys told the bartender, Marco something then Marco started acting very RUDE. He unnecessary turned up the music and it was very loud, also He through some ice cubes towards us!! Probably he wanted us to leave, but We couldn't believe his horrible behavior. Who does that to the customers? What a disrespectful staff! Don't come this spot, it's a very toxic place and bad service! Very disappointed. Also watch out of these "movie people" for the harassment! They were keep using F words and very rude towards us. . What a crazy night and we willnever come back!

Best salmon ever!!! Also, grilled chicken is so good. This place is perfect for a laid back dinner. Such a cute atmosphere.

Solid wine bar in the midtown east area. Good for dates or happy hours, La Cava serves a variety of wine and also bites to eat. Ambiance is nice, especially at night but it can get crowded at times. My only wish is that they extended happy hour times so I can make it after a long day at work!

Really nice place to eat! Went on a Saturday morning and sat at a high-top. The food was great and the spicy margarita hit the spot! It is a really aesthetically pleasing spot which is why we stopped in in the first place. I would come back and try something else on the menu!

Nice wine bar with an intimate vibe and an extensive wine list. We were a larger group and the servers were very accommodating, and the service was very friendly. I didn't have the food, but the sandwiches looked a bit dry based on what others at my table got. Overall a cool spot and glad I tried but will look to try others in the city

This place was awesome! Great selection of wine. I had a Cote de Rhône that was to die for. There was also a 2019 Tempranillo that pulled at my heart stirrings. If you are a wino, this is the place for you. Only complaint was that there was only one server but I know NYC is in need of food service workers so they were busting their a$$.

Great place for a laidback night with friends or even a nice date spot. Went last night with a couple friends and we ordered a bottle of the missoni cab. Tasted great, nice and light. We ended up ordering a charcuterie board to accompany our wine. The truffle cheese was to die for (also got the Brie and Manchego). Ended off with an espresso martini. Overall a wonderful experience, the vibes were good and the food and drinks did not disappoint. Will be coming back soon.

After a lackluster dinner nearby, stumbled upon this spot that had available outdoor seating on a Wednesday night. Despite the noise on Second Avenue, the ambiance is relaxed, staying that way through the evening. Between two people, ordered glasses of Tempranillo ($12 each), and a small Cheese Plate ($12). Wine is served quickly after ordering, solid pour and easy to drink. Cheese plate consists of one hard and one soft cheese (we picked Manchego/Cambozola respectively), raisin nut bread, grapes, and fig jam. Both cheeses are rich in flavor, and went well with the accoutrements provided. The warm raisin nut bread was particularly tasty to pair together with the cambozola. Service here is fine, took a bit to get the check, but the food did come out quickly. Nice dinner-date spot if in the area and want to avoid the big crowds.

Good wine bar with decent amounts of wine by the glass for Happy Hour. Which ends at 6pm - but is every day so it's good for the weekend. Lovely cheese plates, pate, and meats. The mains were really bland (got pesto pasta and chicken Milanese). The service was excellent and the vibes were great. My advice is to get a proper chef, or expand the meat/cheese plates. The wine program could use a little love. The Albariño was great, but the rest of the wines were pretty basic. The Pinot Noir was from California- would have been nice to have a lower alcohol/cool climate one - ones from Germany are such a steal.

A little noisy. I must admit, but decent food. We stopped by La Cava yesterday for a meal. We ordered prosciutto burrata, duck pate chocolate mouse cake, cofe and mousse cake. The service was ok, but a little slow, Are they worth visiting? Probably.

Cute little brunch spot with rustic/industrial-chic aesthetics that I love. Came around 2:30p on a Sunday and it was a little busy but still had tables outside for me to sit down at right away. Had to wait a minute for the waiter/host to appear so I could be seated. He was polite but appeared somewhat distracted, maybe stretched thin? Despite the open tables and standard simple brunch menu, it took a few minutes for him to come ask my order, and even when he did he was busy answering a phone call and put the call on hold to verbally take my order. Perhaps it was a takeout or delivery order, but regardless felt a little awkward/rude. Ordered the Smoked Salmon Frittata which was supposed to come with goat cheese, arugula, and roasted potatoes. I was picturing a classic oven-baked frittata but what came out was more akin to an omelet, and disappointingly did not come with arugula but instead spinach. It felt as if goat cheese and smoked salmon were sandwiched between two "buns" of semi-scrambled eggs. Still, the omelet-frittata was hot and the flavor was decent. The potatoes on the other hand were lukewarm and underseasoned, but at this point I've yet to find potatoes that come well seasoned so the mild disappointment was more a result of my stubborn hope than anything else. Waiter's follow-up was much more attentive, supporting the stretched thin theory. Overall, okay food with decent service. May come back due to convenient location and willingness to give a benefit of a doubt/try other menu items.

La Cava is a versatile wine bar offering a great selection of glasses and bottles with all kinds of Italian classics to eat. The food here is as much of a delight as the wine selection.

Dined at the bar and had a great experience. Just great vibes all around. Ordered the bruschetta and a couple of paninis. The steak panini was a little dry, that is my only qualm with the restaurant, but besides that the food was good and fairly priced. Net/net with the good service, drinks and overall good food, I enjoyed my experience and would go back.

This was a good late night spot to go to. I liked that you could get a glass of wine, carafe of wine (which was for 3 people), or a bottle of wine. We tried the malbec and cotes du Rhône. The cotes du Rhône was amazing. It was smooth and bold. I also really liked the Caesar salad and margarita panini which came with greens and chips.

Very friendly and attentive staff located on 2nd Ave near UN. The HH specials are good and varied cute space with distancing available. Makes a good spot for friends dates and solo dining. The food isn't great but it isn't horrible. Recommended in midtown East.

We were looking for a glass of wine & a snack as we roamed Midtown East. Cava proved to be a very nice little out of the way place on 2nd Ave. Sandra capably doubled as server and bartender. We both chose the price fixe lunches. Tami a Caprese salad and I a Foie gras plate. Both excellently prepared and in reasonable portions. Second coarse was a chicken/avocado panini for Tami and a Salmon Nicoise for me. Again, well satisfying taste, portion size and presentation. As it was happy hour, I chose a French Rose. A thoroughly satisfying luncheon on our last day in town this trip.

Couldn't get a resy at a nearby trendy brunch spot so gave La Cava a try. Bottomless mimosas with right oj/bubbles mix ($25), really decent eggs Benedict ($16) with potatoes and green salad. Eggs were poached perfectly and a nice lemony hollandaise. Not at all crowded on a Sunday at 11:30am and we sat by open windows and enjoyed the friendly staff on a beautiful early fall day.

La Cava is the sort of unassuming place you walk by for years, then one day you venture in and regret not coming sooner. I stopped by on a beautiful May day and went for an al fresco prix fixe lunch - there were several choices. Began with a pate of decent quality and attractively plated -- garnished with grapes. I moved on to a salade nicoise - they substituted fresh salmon medium rare for the standard canned tuna and it worked. Everything else was comme il faut. If memory serves $19 for two courses. Service was good, and the glass of rose I washed it down with was a nice pour. I'll be back.

The restaurant wasn't too busy and we stopped by there for a quick dinner. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I wish the portions were a bit bigger however. It looked like half of a sandwich cut in half. The staff were very friendly and I think just about every one of them said hello to me with a smile.

This place is right on 2nd Ave, in line with several other bars and restaurants and nearly all are really good. This particular wine bar is laid out pretty nicely and has a decent wine selection. The staff was very helpful in letting us try several wines before selecting a bottle. They also have a food menu with several nice looking dishes. Their caprese was pretty good. It's a nice place to stop before hitting dinner nearby!

I came to this spot twice during my one day in NYC. I went for a late lunch with my friend and fellow screenwriter. I had the crabcake - it was tasty and the presentation was wonderful. I also had a crisp, zesty Sauvignon blanc. I returned in the morning for brunch and had the salmon Benedict and bottomless mimosas. The Benedict was perfect, and perfectly paired with a salad with amazing dressing and home fries. This charming spot will be my go-to location when I'm staying in Midtown East. Lovely, low key vibe and excellent food makes this place a new favorite.

This area has a lot of great options for wine, so La Cava has a lot of competition. It was while I was walking to another spot that I noticed their wine happy hour sign. I have heard of La Cava before while searching for new wine spots on Yelp, but hadn't had the chance to check them out, so decided that then was as good of a time as ever to try. It was a pretty good experience. The atmosphere was classy and what I would expect from a wine bar. The place was a bit loud and more crowded than I am used to seeing on a Sunday night, but not to the point where it was so loud you couldn't enjoy yourself. I started with the happy hour Malbec, which was pretty mediocre all around... A very drinkable wine and something that might be a crowd pleaser, but very simple. I wasn't expecting too much from a happy hour wine, though. The Cotes du Rhone was a lot better, and the Bordeaux was simply fantastic. I also had a taste of the Rioja the person I went with ordered, and it was fine, but nothing I'd want a full glass of. The prices were very affordable, especially for this area. While I didn't get a bottle, there were some fantastic bottles on their list: Chateauneuf du Pape, Barolo, and Dom Perignon come to mind. I'd come back without a doubt, maybe at an earlier time where it is a little less crowded, though later on was great for atmosphere.

First night in NYC after a long flight. Was warmly greeted by Mare and ordered great apps & food. Moments after was kindly approached by lady named Mari who made sure we were all taken care of. Moments after Carlos the chef came to talk to us and recommend places we should visit. Probably the most meaningful and memorable night I've had in NYC thanks to the amazing staff. Great place and even better food! Highly recommended!

Came here with some friends for dinner and drinks. The staff is pretty friendly, but the service we received was sloppy and not up to the standards we expected from what appeared to be a nice establishment. After trying the disappointing Cava Plate, our 3 meals took a full hour to arrive with us having to ask when we would receive it. The food wasn't nearly worth the price It was also miserably hot inside too! We had a table by the back and were dying from the heat. Don't go here if you mind sweating while waiting for your food.

Service was very nice and so was the cheesecake. That's it. Crabcakes was just not tasty. They tasted weird. Not bad just weird. The cheese platter was ok. The fig jam was nice. The chicken entree was gross and I was hungry and I love food and I barely took 5 bites. It looked like they chopped all the ingredients put some chicken on it and drowned it in vinegar. And someone said it's not a good date spot because it's noisy. Holy f#ck is it noisy! Bus stops right in front of the restaurant. It's loud. And the place wasn't that crowded but I had to speak loudly to be heard. If I was only having wine I would come back but def not for the food

I've been visiting this place since I stumbled on it years ago. I try to visit every time I come to NY. Went last night with galpal and we had a great time. Super nice staff, friendly bar neighbors, and really nice food and wine. Plus prices are reasonable for NYC.
