An amazing meal and experience. We were made aware from Rick Martinez' Eaters rec, and felt we had to try it. We were lucky to get a seat right in front of the chef, with a smaller homey store, quick service, a small menu and a small (likely 10ish year old) cashier, it was amazing.
The menu is apparently made around their masa which is made from corn that they nixtamalize themselves. I love the different fillings and masa based dishes. We got the tlacoyos, gorditas and huitlacoche quesadilla (ate like mushrooms). They were so good, the masa so soft and perfectly cooked, the salsa macha so flavorful. The price of this could be so much more and yet I think chef is doing this for the community. Thank you chef and her family for an amazing meal.
