Where to Eat the Best Oaxacan Food in Los Angeles

"Claudia and Abel Pacheco serve something for everyone from their colorful truck. Offerings range from sweet crepes and paletas to Oaxacan antojitos like tlayudas and memelas to their signature, high-quality aguas frescas. Aguas de jamaica, Oaxaca horchata, and maracuya have concentrated flavors and are served without ice to maintain their integrity. The pair even offers Thai iced tea in a nod to nearby Thai Town. The truck also is the best place in Hollywood for tacos de birria, and birriamen. The latter is a family recipe for beef barbacoa from La Chinantla, which is a more robust version of the popular stew." - Bill Esparza

La Chinantla Serves Tlayudas and Agua Frescas From a Converted U-Haul - Eater LA

"Previously a U-Haul van but outfitted with a kitchen, La Chinantla Truck is wrapped in bright rainbow colors filled with rows of tempting aguas frescas. The truck still offers several birria options such as tacos, mulitas, burritos, and birriamen (ramen with birria and consomé), but Angelenos will notice a slightly more complex blend of smoky, toasted chiles in the adobo, and a richer, darker stock compared to other birria stands." - Bill Esparza

Google
Honestly one of the best taco trucks in la, hugely underrated and overshadowed by Leo's that parks its truck 40 feet away from this one. I always prefer this one. Get the birria in any form and you will not be disappointed (if your stomach can handle cheese, the mulitas are ridiculous). Also the lady (and the rest of the people working) is such a sweetheart.

Google
this taco truck is the BEST one in LA!!!!! i am going as far to say that these are the best tacos i’ve ever had. they are only $2 and you can get quesa birría (my personal fav). the shells are always crispy, the onions are always sweet and the cilantro is always fresh. the consommé i would bathe in. please do yourself a favor and order from this delicious life changing truck. you won’t regret it.

Hands down some of the best agua frescas. I work around the area and I would always see this taco truck until 2/7 when I got this sudden craving for an agua fresca. A little backstory: the owner of this taco truck started the business by selling natural and homemade agua frescas. There are many flavors to choose from and regardless of which one you choose, know that it’s fresh! I haven’t tried the tacos yet but what I do know is that the tacos are made with handmade tortillas. They also sell champurrado, crepes, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, mulitas, nachos and so much more. Give it a try, support local businesses.

Omg. Go here and ask for the passion fruit drink. Ask for a little chamoy inside. Enjoy. Birria tacos if your hungry, trust me.

Got food poisoned today. If I were you I’d avoid. Go read about food poisoning. People can die from it or even get paralysed. Very unclean and reporting this place.

Took 30 minutes to deliver a sub par burrito. Very average and terrible service.
