Where to Order Takeout in Broward and Palm Beach | Eater Miami

"You can start with a classic French onion soup; Belgian endive and arugula salad with grapes, pear and gorgonzola; or an addictive whole grilled jumbo artichoke at this Mediterranean coastal spot which is one of Delray’s best. Restaurateur Francis Touboul is one of the few who can still get branzino; other entrees include roasted duck with cassis reduction; New York strip steak; and classic coq au vin. The molten chocolate cake is truly crave worthy." - Beth Landman

Google
Love this place! Best restaurant around if you want a really good dining experience and the best food. The atmosphere is beautiful, service is great, and there is no doubt the chefs in the kitchen work hard and are passionate about putting the most into making the best food around.

Google
We came for a birthday celebration and everything turned out perfect. The owner the hostess, Brian our server, everybody was so warm and professional. The food was amazing as well. They treat you like family.

Google
Came here for the first time on a whim for my birthday dinner and it was perfect! Service and atmosphere excelled. Started with the french onion soup which was amazing and then had the filet mignon for my entree. It was extremely tender and perfectly cooked. My family had the NY strip steak and also loved it. Definitely returning in the future

Google
This place is interesting. First of all we had a great attentive server. Food that was excellent was the bread, fries, and French onion soup. I ordered a $36 4 cheese 4 pieces of ravioli pasta that was pretty good but yikes on price point. The NY Strip gave Publix quality (and not the best) and who ever allows $17 cocktails to served like this needs to be fired. Also, being sat in the super bright side room felt a bit weird. Maybe try dimming the lights?

Google
An absolutely perfect dinner. From start to finish it was delicious. The staff were extremely attentive. I loved the dimly lit well appointed dining room and beautiful artwork. My scallop and shrimp dish with risotto was superb!

Google
If you find yourself in Delray Beach area and you enjoy exquisite French cuisine this is the place for you. A staff knowledgeable, courtesy and helpful compliment a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Francis is a step above the average owner/chef in every way. I will not only be back, I will make great effort to do so. Thank you all at La Cigale for a wonderful dinner.

Google
Stayed at Aloft Cigale recommended to celebrate 3 birthdays Came in for happy hour ordered Tuna Not the best Anyway Watched as other parties birthday celebrations were recognized and ours ignored We can say happy hour price and 241 drinks ok But I personally would not return and would recommend other businesses on the Avenue Just saying

Google
Excellent choice for a warm cosy outing with the significant other. Great atmosphere and lighting, with professional wait staff. The menu selection is very comprehensive, with a good selection for all. And lastly, but certainly not least, the taste, quality and serving portions of the menu items are excellent!!! Attempting to describe the taste and flavoring of the food, would be futile. It just has to be experienced. Loved every bite of everything wee tried. It is certainly a must for the higher end dining experience. Two negative things worth pointing out, would be the location and the pricing. The location is a little awkward (in what seems to be a drab residential neighborhood) and the pricing is a little on the high side. Nevertheless, I would recommend this place as a "must visit," if you're ever in the Deerfield beach area.

Yelp
Service to actually get the food was fair. Attention to us by the manager was excellent. I don't remember what we all ordered but it was very good.

Yelp
I enjoyed our happy hour here. The entrees are $25 and drinks are half price. I went here with a group and we had a lot of fun. I had a fun time with our group which was an extra bonus. Happy hour starts at 5:00 pm and we arrived by 4:50 pm to make sure we could get the long table in the front. It all worked out so perfectly. It is a very elegant place inside! Happy hour is a great way to see the place and try the foods ! I just wish we were able to dance a little! LOL

Yelp
Ambience beautiful, service fantastic, food delicious. We got there for happy hour and to our surprise they were doing a prix fixed menu at the bar. 25 dollars several entries to choose from, drinks buy one get one. I had the clams in a white wine over linguine super good . One of my friends started with the French Onion soup he said it was equisite, my other friend got the Caesar salad chicken cacciatore, my other friend did Salmon all of us were very pleased.

Yelp
This was our 3rd time in 5 years and it always impressses us. The Happy Hour special menu is such a bargain. 2 for 1 Drinks and an amazing $25 dollar entree selection.

Yelp
There is nothing not to like. This is consistently the whole package from start to finish. Friendly faces, excellent service with an extensive menu to accommodate everyone. Warm atmosphere and able to accommodate large groups or sit in the bar area. Nice happy hour when they open their doors at 5 that goes until 7. I highly recommend.

Yelp
The regulars "social hour" club are there at the door waiting. Martini's are all lined up at the bar and high tops for the widows, couples, one woman fell off her high top chair. She was in her 80's. The Bar tender Debbie a bleach-blonde with nails has more attitude than any other over priced establishment in south Florida. Very expensive especially since Delray transformed from charming to Las Olas strip of restaurants and bars. We ordered leek soup-fair, escargot that was Luke cold. I ordered the wasabi seared tuna (overcooked), my husband ordered the chicken. Not worth $$$$$ it anymore. Used to be good. This restaurant has its regulars to be sure. Ambiance is nice. Parking lot with valet.

Yelp
Always a delightful dining experience. Great food, great drinks and above all great service

Yelp
My partner and I had a dinner program here and everyone was so helpful. The service was great. I had a difficult time finding a venue with a private room. La Cigale has great ambiance and the food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly and my partner enjoyed the seafood crepes. So glad we found la cigale.

Allison H.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. We started with the foie gras. Incredible. It had a beautiful sauce and was served on buttered toast. The raspberry was such a nice pairing with the foie gras. And then we had the mozzarella paparedelle pasta which was so delicious and perfectly seasoned. Such. Gem of a restaurant. The service is top notch and there is complimentary parking. Go here you will not regret it.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Small comfy place with good service! Would def recommend going back

Yelp
this happy hour was fantastic. Never disappoints. However, it's time for management to replace the high top stools. They're so uncomfortable & worn.

Yelp
I haven't been to this restaurant in approximately 10 years why I'm not sure but tonight I thought it might be a nice place to try again with some friends first of all the atmosphere. Nice it was Bastille day so they had it all decorated and they had a special menu to my pleasant surprise I had the Caesar salad, which was delicious. Escargot very good Also the salmon came with two vegetables and for dessert and lemon pie. We also had the pork chops which were double pork chops came with potatoes and a vegetable and delicious also wedge salad, which was good and coq au vin and bread pudding with the special dinner got three courses for Bastille day and a glass of wine. It was a very pleasant experience. The waiter staff was excellent parking is valet or self parking lot. You don't have to worry about parking in downtown Atlantic Avenue. With the extraordinary cost of parking in Atlantic Avenue downtown this was a free valet and free parking. A definitely luxury for this area I highly recommend if you're in the area to try it.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem. Terrific ambiance and very attentive service. The proprietor actually took care of us. We started with authentic French onion soup and artichokes . Our main courses Scottish Salmon, and Branziono were superb We were offered a lemon tart for my birthday. Looking forward to our next time.

Yelp
We had a reservation for 20+ for the night before our friend's wedding. The food was exceptional, the restaurant was beautiful by the water, and the service was fine dining service. For dinner, appetizers I shared the goat cheese puff pastry and lobster bisque, and for my main I had the seared scallops. Dessert we had the macaroon- which was my favorite part of the meal! Everything was phenomenal. We wanted a longer dinner service and had a really lovely time. 5 star service :)

Yelp
Happy Hour with Prix fixe menu - Yes Please! And 2 for 1 cocktails What a lovely restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere. The bartender is a gem, she was lovely. With kindness and humor she gave our "Party of Three" suggestions and fine explanations of all the happy hour menu items. We each opted for the Appetizer Course: Red Bell Pepper Soup with Goat Cheese crumble - received rave reviews. I loved my Pate de Champagne - a delicious chunky country pate. Sampled my friends Chicken Liver pate, it was wonderful too. For Happy Hour Prix fixe we ordered old school favorites- Seafood Cioppino (a classic seafood stew) which was a delicious and a generous portion. Veal Picata was also a very large portion and had great compliments. The Beef Burgundy, sadly was a bit dry and not rich in flavor. The gentleman next to me was disappointed with the quality of his Ceasar Salad and he complained that his French Oinion Soup was overloaded with cheese as he tugged on it, trying to get a spoonful of broth. He was a regular patron, and said the Chef was having a bad day on this early Friday. He always looked forward to his gourmet Happy Hour and usually loved the food. It was about $65 per person for this upscale Happy hour - I look forward to returning.

Yelp
We were a group of 6 on a Friday night enjoying a reunion dinner. La Cigale is an upscale dining experience. The decor is elegant and our service was top notch. Drinks, entrees and desserts were spot on. I ordered the French onion soup which was such a treat since I rarely have it. So happy it was worth it here. Then I had the varied fish cioppino. It was lovely! My friend had the trout which was a nice portion, extremely fresh and flavorful. Everyone was happy with their courses. You must try the chocolate chip biscotti. It was probably the best recipe if you like them soft. The chef comped us the desserts probably because he knew it was our first time here. Smart business man! This is the perfect intimate venue to celebrate that special occasion. We will definitely return in the future.

Yelp
Superb elegant dining experience. The food is so good as is the staff. Francis, the manager, is always so friendly and caring.

Ros W.

Yelp
There is no room for improvement in this amazing restaurant. The atmosphere is welcoming, the host maître d' is knowledgeable, personable, and extremely accommodating. Service is unobtrusive and invisible but excellent. My oysters were fresh and properly shucked; companion enjoyed her artichoke leaves with gusto. Main courses were attractively presented and delicious. Desserts respectively of tiramisu and crème brûlée were excellent. Returning will be a pleasure indeed.

Yelp
Outstanding food drinks and wine, staff is courteous and knowledgeable service is excellent and ambience is delightful

Yelp
Excellent dinner, great foods, great service. Very good wine selection. Nice ambiance overall. Would recommend the duck. Escargot was divine too. Check them out, highly recommended.
google avatar

Elisa G.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. I love a round table for 6 people! We sampled a number of dishes, but the standouts were the osso buco (fall off the bone tender and unctuous) and the duck. The duck was moist and crispy (which is often difficult to achieve). The music/singing is always fun. He sings Sinatra and Darrin and others you know in your soul --but the music is an accompaniment. You can still talk and hear. It's an older crowd, but they have likely been going there for years. They know quality. Service was attentive (from cocktails to the end). And the end was a delicious espresso martini.

Yelp
We went to celebrate my cousin's wedding anniversary at La Cigale. We really enjoyed our evening, everything was perfect. Andrea was our server, and she was awesome, she really took good care of us. We were seated in a private room with only six tables and it was perfect. We ordered their famous onion soups, lamb chops, mussels, shrimps and scallops à la Provençale and I ordered the paella. The paella wasn't on the menu but Andrea went to ask the chef if he could prepare one and he was happy to do it. We told Francis the owner that we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and he sent us a tiramisu and a lemon tart on the house. It was really nice and classy of him. We had a great experience starting from the valet parking attendant to the service, food, the music and ambiance. For sure, we'll go back again and again!!!! Keep up the great work!

Jessica R.

Yelp
Food was just OK. Nothing to return for. Ambiance was pretty bland. Found the $20 Valet to be absolutely ridiculous, I can park 10 feet away for free.
google avatar

Ray C.

Yelp
We had dinner at La Cigale last evening. Service, food and ambiance were all excellent. It was difficult to have a conversation with the person across the table as there was live music and they didn't take a break the entire two hours we were dining.
google avatar

Yelp
Decide to receive the New Year's in a city where it was warm, Del Rey was my choice and La Cigale was the perfect place to receive the new year Place us cozy, happy, friendly, food was delicious and service outstanding I had the mushroom soup. Polenta tray, jumbo shrimp, few cocktails and everything was outstanding

Yelp
We dined here a few weeks ago with another couple It was OK. The hostess was very nice and accommodating, as were the wait staff. The menu is well thought out, yet the food was simply put, mediocre. I wish only success to those in the restaurant business, yet La Cigale is just OK at higher prices ( in my opinion) than should be. At approximately 150.00 for two, with 2 drinks, a shared appetizer, and one dinner entree and one selection from the apetizer section of the menu, the food did not match the bill. I wish them success.

Michael H.

Yelp
Their food is extremely great and their appetizer of escargot and garlic cream sauce is to die for ex

Howard R.

Yelp
Elegant restaurant with old world charm. Francois and is staff are like family. The food is prepared wonderfully and wine for everyone's taste. Plus, the noise level is subdued and perfect for conversation. Additionally, there are cosy private rooms.

Steve S.

Yelp
We go there with some frequency and for good reason. A truly charming restaurant with superb food and service. The owners could not be more gracious or welcoming. And always safe to bring friends there - nothing worse than recommending a restaurant that fails to impress but not an issue here. Everyone we have brought has loved it. One of the many sad things about leaving our Florida home for the summer is not being able to go back to La Cigale until October! Many, many thanks!

Ronnie M.

Yelp
Great service by an experienced waitperson. Great ambiance. And the food was terrific. We will be going back.

Yelp
Our daughter took us to Mother's Day dinner here--a wonderful experience all the way around! Valet parking! Everyone gave us the VIP treatment. We loved the Calamari, Veal Piccata, Filet Mignon & Red Snapper! They offer a great variety of desserts--Creme Brûlée', Golden Apple Tarte and Chocolate Molten Cake were scrumptious! Finishing touch was the professional singer with a repertoire including Sinatra, Tony Bennett, etc.! We will definitely return!

Yelp
I have been an extreme fan of La Cigale from their first location to their current location. Unfortunately because of the pandemic I have not been able to go, until last night. The menu is basically the same which I enjoy however they were a little off last night. My wife order the pate platter and veal piccata no capers. She loved it. I ordered the Foie Gras which is my favorite item on the menu. It came out with a frozen center. $38 a pop there's no excuse for that. I also ordered the duck crispy which it was the Cassis reduction was very watery, almost as if they needed to stretch it out. I understand that all restaurants have a bad night, last night was theirs. I will return to the restaurant at a later date with the hopes that it was just a bad night. Typically I would give them 4 1/2 stars. Last night 3 1/2 stars.

Neal Z.

Yelp
It just feels special because it is. We love the Dover Sole And the singer sound s like Frank Sinatra

Stuart S.

Yelp
As usual it was a better than great evening. Food was exceptional and service was very attentive and non-over bearing. Francois is an excellent host and makes every dining experience memorable.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere and mussels were amazing! Delicious sauce and wonderful desserts

Yelp
We were in town for the Tulane vs Florida Atlantic football game and found this restaurant on Yelp. The food was great. I had the steak which was served at the correct temperature and was delicious and my wife had the lamb chops which she enjoyed. Our server was knowledgeable and personable. The ambiance was good. Would definitely come back.

Lou Ann L.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and greeting. Oh well. I ordered the cioppino. The broth was just okay and the seafood was a big disappointment. The squid and tiny bay scallops were way over cooked and so rubbery. I have never seen bay scallops in a nice restaurant like this. They overcook in 2 minutes. Someone should have told the chef. I didn't eat it. No concern by the waiter. The waiter was attentive in the beginning, but what are you going to do when you don't want to ruin the evening by sending your food back? We also ordered cappuccinos and dessert after we were able to get the attention of the waiter. The whole staff seem to be more interested in setting up the tables for the next day. The dessert was eaten before the cappuccinos finally arrived. The 3 others at my table said that the food was less in taste than was expected, but a real thumbs up on the escargot.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Romantic. Great date night. Fancy and classy, all the way! Ambience lighting! Food is amazing! All the way through. Some might think pricey but worth every dime coming here!
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this restaurant. They have a great happy hour menu with lots of food choices. We tried the salmon kabob, spinach & truffle quesadilla and blue point oysters. Everything was great and $6 for each plate. The portions are small so you might need to order several plates to feel satisfied.
google avatar

Sharyn F.

Yelp
Nothing to write home about. Lovely inside with wonderful service. Couldn't eat the PATE Platter. The Pate was more like salami and the Chicken liver mouse was awful. Sent back. Charged anyway. The Frogs legs were just eh...Bland. should be good and garlicky Osso Buco was ok. Creme Brule was excellent. And a bottle of lovely Bordeaux. For $152. could have gone to a real French restaurant.

Sharon H.

Yelp
The veal Parmesan was out of this world. The best I've ever had. The service is phenomenal and very lovely. The atmosphere is very inviting and you feel like you have been going there for years, as to how welcoming they are. next time I am in Delray Beach, that is definitely my go to place. Love Loved Loved it. Wonderful.
google avatar

Patty W.

Yelp
Want to check out an upscale restaurant in downtown Delray Beach? This is the spot to get your eat and wallet on. It's located off the strip and away from the madness of Atlantic Avenue. The chicken francese smothered with lemon caper sauce was served with potato purée, which I doubled up on since I didn't want green beans or the other sides that they offered. I prefer the cut over the string green beans, so blame the pickiness on me ;) I had a bite of my date's filet Mignon and dipped it in some béarnaise sauce that was included with his entree. You can never ever go wrong with béarnaise sauce for a topping on a meat. It is absolutely out of this world. We couldn't leave without having some sweets. The golden apple tarte was served warm and flambe at the table. Of course, the bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla cream was screaming my name before the dinner even came. When we stepped in here for dinner the other night, it exceeded our expectations. Our entrees were divine and the desserts were fantastic. The staff was friendly and right on top of everything. They offer complimentary valet parking, which is so nice since the parking lots around the area is usually filled up.

Mary Ellen L.

Yelp
Great dinner. Lots of space between the tables. Everything was great. Beet and goat cheese salad. Veal chop. Tiramisu dessert. Cocktails are great also.

Christopher D.

Yelp
All good...food, service and ambiance. Just wish they were in open table so reservation's were easier.

P. D.

Yelp
This place knows how to make the customer feel special and appreciated. Service, wine, food, ambience, and live entertainment were all 5/5 stars. We can't wait to visit again. Thank you!

John D.

Yelp
This 8s an exceptional resturant. The bar is fantastic with a happy hour specials. The food is truly exceptional. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. There is also a local following which is great.

Yelp
The meal tonight, which was Italian night, was perfect. We arrived for happy hour at 6 PM and had cocktails and then a wonderful meal which included flounder and chicken and veal. We chose tiramisu for dessert and it was awesome, enjoyed by all five of us. We chose the Franciscan Cabernet Sauvignon as our wine choice and it was also great! We always come back to our special plave.

Nancy R.

Yelp
It was not a good meal in any way. Nothing was good for the five people that sat at my table and currently feeling awful. I do not recommend this restaurant, there are so many other choices!
google avatar

Teri F.

Yelp
I can understand why this restaurant has mixed reviews. It is overpriced and inconsistent. Some of the food is very good whereas, some of the food is just average. For example, the Coq Au Vin was excellent, one of the best, I've ever eaten. On the other hand, the Souppe de Poisson was just mediocre. The broth tasted lack luster!!! We only received four very small thin slices of baguette and they were not warm. The restaurant was extremely crowded and very, very noisy. It was almost impossible to hear your dinner partner above the din of the room. If I could've given this restaurant 3.5 stars I probably would've done that!!!
