La Colombe Frogtown Cafe and Roastery

There are five locations in California and they're all in Southern California. As of April 2024, I have only been to the Silverlake and Frogtown locations. I prefer this location because it's more remote, away from traffic and parking is a little easier. They do have a few (maybe a couple?) parking spaces in an adjacent lot for La Colombe visitors, but street parking is easy to find (depending on what time you visit). The patio is a great space, with plenty of seating. Know that the sparrows outside in the patio are bold and will eat your pastry if you don't watch it. After your coffee and/or pastry, enjoy a walk along the bike path right outside the patio.

The staff are so nice here! It's right on the bike path and I love to ride there. During the week, the atmosphere is so nice and cozy. It's a shared business space, which can make for some interesting people watching. I wish they were open a little later during the summer because they are always closing just when I'm craving that last coffee of the day. I avoid it on the weekends because the line is usually out the door and the crowd is usually pretty unwelcoming, especially if you try to ride there.

Great service. Great pour over. Good coffee takes time and yes I did wait about 8 mins but good coffee is worth it! Right on the LA river bike path as well and nice scenery to look at while enjoying a coffee.

I was very underwhelmed by their coffee and food compared to what it tastes like on the East Coast. The pastry was dry but it was a cool atmosphere, service was top notch and definitely would recommend for vibe.

Sorry but this place is really mid. What wins you over is the location, the river the courtyard annnd that’s about it. I always thought they were a decent coffee roaster and I think they are but this location in particular doesn’t seem to know how to pour drafts. Every time I’ve ordered a draft from here I’d say a quarter of the drink is all foam. Imagine going to get a beer at a bar and the only actual beer you get is like two shots in a pint glass. Would you want that? Would you pay $8 for two shots of beer? Surprisingly I’ve had their canned drafts and they were much better. Again not a review of the brand itself just this location. It’s typically quiet, well spaced out and chill. And I liked this spot because a draft latte is usually worthwhile among the other so so cafes in the area. Hopefully they can rectify this because I’d like to keep coming back.

Such a random location and parking is a bit annoying but the coffee is delicious and the scenery is beautiful ao it's worth finding a spot. There's a bike path along the side and it's right by the wash which has trees and other plants (and trash unfortunately). I've always gotten the Cortado and I love it. Good flavor, with nice thick (cute) design foam on top. Their pastries are good too. They have clean restrooms. A few seats inside and about 10 spots to sit outside. To me it's very relaxing, especially after a good hike.

Secret coffee location next to LA River, 1/2 bike ride to Griffith Park and 1/2 hour bike ride from the other end of Frog Town. Lot of choices and delicious goodies you won’t find elsewhere. Bought a box of coffee and got a free coffee, drip or cold brew. The coffee here is roasted and brew on site, very interesting flavors, and choices. Also, you can walk here, or any other of transportation to get here like. Parking lot, clean restrooms, and plenty of birds chirps to keep you grounded in nature whilst you work away on your laptop, device, or immerce yourself in a good convo.

Out of two La Colombe locations that I frequent, this one is my favorite location. Because it's near the Los Angeles river, you get to enjoy beautiful scenery with your beverage. I've also found the service to be consistently friendly. They do offer food for sale including pastries, but be warned: if you leave your food unattended outdoors, you may attract some hungry birds! They offer your standard coffee-based beverages, and you can also buy bags of whole beans to brew at home. Depending on when you visit, street parking may be limited, but there's a great pedestrian/biking path by the river if that's more your speed.

I met up with a friend to check out the Frogtown flea market along the LA River and after a long stroll, it calls for some coffee! I ordered the pumpkin spice latte with oat milk. The expresso wasn't too strong and I wished it was a bit stronger. That place was popping on a Saturday afternoon with some bicyclist stopping by for a drink too!

The lady in front of me asked if the draft latte couldn't be all foam because it ends up being 1/3 full after the foam goes away. Kind of like asking if could just pour it like a beer so it's not all foam. She was told no. Not very cool. The century city location pours it well but this location it's all foam for $7. Just think it would be fair to give a full coffee vs 1/3.

One of my favorite coffee shops! Love the coffee, the vibe and location. I've tried their oat nogg half tan latte which was a little bland this time around. I could barely taste the coffee but overall still good.

Everything was practically out. Either their stock count is off or this is a spot to stop in on but the coffee was not great in my opinion. I had. Caramel latte which was not my expectation but it wasn't the worst taste of coffee bean. the place needs to be wiped down thru the day more often cause it brings in alot of people with pets , sweat, walking foot traffic from the bike/ walk trail. Restroom was not cool at all. Parking is challenging.

My review is specifically for a TGTG order, but I had a great experience this afternoon at La Colombe. The cafe is at the end of a cul-de-sac, and it sits against the LA River bike trail. This would be an excellent stop along the route, for the more athletic among us. The cashier was incredibly friendly & seemed genuinely interested in picking out items that I would eat/enjoy. The pistachio croissant was DELICIOUS -- highly recommend! I will definitely be back for a latte when I have time to enjoy the patio.

Cute coffee shop with patio seating and quick service. Nearby path lets you take your coffee for a walk. Love the vibe in this area, the LA river walk and bike path are adjacent. Very cute vibe on the weekends.

Delicious coffee! Cute ambiance! It's a perfect little walk from my kids gym. They also have tasty treats and pastries. Our favorite is the oat chai!

I love their coffees and every once in a while will drive to La for their seasonal dirty chai iced latte! It's the best I've ever had. Not too sweet

I've never been disappointed with their coffee at La Colombe in Frogtown. They also have a decent selection of sweet treats too.

Love coming to this location hidden in this neighborhood and in-front of the LA river walk, it's the place place to have coffee, pastries if you're in the mood for it. The baristas are friendly and quick to give your order. I've been coming for quite a few times so it was time to give my review. Now that I've been running, I'll be coming for runs and make my stop to have my coffee after. Parking is a bit scarce but if you're there early you'll get lucky. Oat milk draft latte is so yummy and so are the lattes!

Definitely one of the better chain coffee shops! Decent coffee, super friendly staff, quick service and lots of seating. Good place to grab a quick cup of coffee and sit by the river but nothing out of the ordinary.

Next to the LA river and 0.2 miles from spoke cafe Staffs are friendly, drinks are okay. Pastries are also ok. I had the half tan drink, it wasnt the strongest coffee considering how much milk they put in there Convenient location near biking trail to grab a coffee. Have both outdoor or indoor seating so very dog friendly Will return because its conveniently located next to the LA RIVER TRAIL.

La Colombe is one of my favorite coffee spots in NELA. Their coffee is smooth and delightful - my go-to order is an iced oat milk latte. I'll be honest, there used to be employees there who came off a bit uppity, but it's nice to see that the last few times I've been, they've been replaced by much friendlier faces. La Colombe is where I go when I want to enjoy great coffee in the sunshine while watching tons of dogs go by.

Hidden away next to the LA River, this coffee shop is a cute little stop for your walk along the path or a walk around the little shops in Frogtown. There is all outdoor seating, great for a quiet rest with your dog or a coffee date. Tried a matcha, which is notoriously hard to nail, but I thought it was good! Sweet workers and chill vibes.

Fruity blond guy was super rude when he said they're closed and when i was about to ask a question he straight shut me up and ignored me. Not coming here anymore. Plus their Frogtown latte was super bland and its basically a very watery latte with no sweetness.

Honestly such an odd place... saw the pictures on yelp and everything looked so good! I was craving a nice croissant and saw they had some. Called ahead to check stock...no answer. Called again....no answer. I drove over and they still had a few pastries in the box. When I walked up to the counter the girl just stood there scrolling on her phone. After a little while of looking at the pastries standing there not even getting a hello or welcome or even a glance I asked her what a specific pastry was. She looks up still holding her phone and goes "mmmmmm. Which one?" Just completely uninterested. I point at it again and she tells me it's a ham and cheese. I then say "sorry I can't tell what any of these are because there's no labels" and she proceeds to look back at her phone just standing there blankly. It was hands down the most awkward interaction I have ever had at a cafe. I ordered a plain croissant and a blueberry muffing Togo. I then ask if they have any matcha lattes (because I didn't see it on the menu) and she blankly says no looking like this emoji . So I just pay and get out. $10 for two pastries. Blueberry muffin was amazing but the croissant was not the best, it was pretty hard and had no honeycombing. This place is so pretty but I would not spend time in such a uncomfortable environment.

La Colombe has become my preferred place to go during my bike ride along the LA River path. It's not crazy busy but the food and coffee are delicious! Don't skip out on the almond croissant and iced Americano!

Husband ordered Strawberry Latte and I ordered Strawberry Matcha, both iced. His drink was good because you can taste both the strawberry and the coffee strong! As for mine, the whole milk overpowered the strawberry and matcha I could hardly taste neither. I didn't enjoy it as much as I anticipated.

Stopped by La Colombe's coffee shop since we were in the area and wanted to get some planning done with my friend for our upcoming trip. Parking was near impossible close to a residential neighborhood, and streets were very narrow. After we finally got parking, found the coffee shop. It's well located right next to a bike trail, convenience for those stopping by on their bike route to get a cup of joe. There's ample of outdoor space for sitting as well as some indoor space. You order at the counter your drinks, and there's also a nice display case for pastries. My complaint about this place is that it does not have wifi nor any charging port for those that are looking for a more traditional coffee shop.

La Colombe Coffee Roasters is a chain across SoCal and the U.S. and this fantastic location is in Frogtown, right by the LA River. I was actually surprised by how close it was to the LA River, which was absolutely beautiful and relaxing during my visit in December. It was my first time to the coffee shop and parking was a bit challenging as it was mostly residential. I ordered a few pastries and the service was alright. Pastries were better. Overall, I would recommend it for the location and pretty great pastries!

Appearance is disguising. They charged for small drips as for large. -why -it's seasonal -why you are not warning about it -if you don't like it, choose another place. We are not nice. So ok. Me either

I really wanted to like this place and prove the negative reviews wrong, HOWEVER, they are unfortunately VERY TRUE! Tall, short-haired barista with nose ring could use a class on customer service, and coffee really needs improvement, especially for being in such a prime location! However, the ambiance was the only thing I enjoyed. Would revisit just to sit in their patio and look out towards the LA River.

Not really sure how I feel about this place. It's located right by the LA river bike path, so it's really convenient if you are running or biking on the path. If you are driving, parking might be an issue as it's just street parking available. There is a gated parking lot there, but it's for employees only and the other businesses that share the lot. I have to say that I like the seclusion that the outside space gives me. The interior is industrial looking and not a typical coffee house where it's warm and inviting with seating. But the outside space is very nice and great for mornings or just to chill. They don't have a very big menu like the chains do, but their coffee is more tasty. As for WiFi, I am not sure if they have it or not as I took my coffee to go. My only objection about this place is it's located in the middle of a neighborhood and not on a more open street with ample parking.

One of my favorite coffee shops. It's located by the river and parking is in the neighborhood. Coffee and drinks are awesome. Their pumpkin latte was amazing. Some times I forget about this spot but I will definitely be back!

three words: oat draft latte. la colombe, i have loved you since you started in Philly and followed you as you moved to LA. my bf and i love coming here on a Sunday morning, sharing a large draft latte, and reading on the patio.

Great location along the LA River for bikers and walkers or joggers. They have a small seating area. Dogs welcome but must be on leash. The staff were attentive and nice. There is parking which is always a question I have. I ordered a strawberry iced latte and a pistachio rose water roll. Love them both. I'll definitely be back.

La Columbe is a really cute coffee shop. I ordered the vanilla latte and it was good but honestly nothing crazy special. The interior design of this cafe is really nice. They have an indoor and outdoor patio area to talk and hangout with friends.

I will rewrite my review. It got flagged or reported and taken down by Yelp. I want to make sure people with allergies see this to warn them of the possible treatment they'll receive. I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding my recent visit to La Colombe Frogtown on 07/13/2024 at approximately 12:10 pm. I have been a loyal customer and always communicate my severe nut allergies to ensure my safety. There have been staff members who have gone above and beyond at this location to make me feel comfortable. They have looked into ingredients, washed their hands, and ensured I can safely have my morning coffee. Unfortunately, during this visit, I encountered unprofessional behavior from two staff members. One woman with short hair not only failed to take my allergy seriously but also mocked me in front of other customers, laughing in my face. Additionally, another woman with longer hair accused me of trying to get my drink for free in front of a room of customers, further compounding the negative experience. I would be able to point the workers out as I unfortunately cannot forget their faces. I found this treatment distressing and believe it constitutes a lack of respect for customers with disabilities. I am considered disability due to the severity of my allergy. Following this incident, another customer even felt encouraged to join in the unkindness. I am concerned about the implications of such behavior on your establishment's reputation and customer experience. I hope you will take this matter seriously, as I would like to see improvements made. If no action is taken, I will reconsider my patronage with La Colombe in the café, including all products on the market.

No Wifi. Excellent little corporate cafe off the la river bike path in the heart of frogtun. You will find a variety of canned coffees, coffee beans, coffee filters, cups, and coffee tee shirts. My vanilla oat latte smells delicious, and I hope it doesn't upset my stomach to have coffee with no solids. I would get a pastry but they're $900. Best, Aaron

Didn't go to this location but drove by it and it looked much roomier than the one in silver lake. Super creamy coffee, favorite place hands down with alternative milk options too

Dear Yelp Community, First time visiting during December. Amazing! Quiet area along the pathway to the Los Angeles River, this place is a hidden gem. Staff was not very friendly, but not rude either...maybe they were busy (and tired), so this review could be four for five stars. I ordered a coffee, so I cannot comment on much else other than the incredible ambiance (outdoors) to this venue. Enjoy. Sincerely, Anna

I absolutely love this coffee. I have been drinking their cans for awhile and didn't know they had a store front. It's a bit far from me but I made the drive with my wife to try it in store and I can say it did not disappoint! We had the gingerbread latte with regular milk and it was 10/10. Don't really like super sweet drinks so how they made it was perfect! It's a bit hidden but the view towards the water front is nice! The person helping us order was very helpful and nice! Would come back again when I have time to make the trip but in the mean time I will keep buying the 4 packs at target!

The coffee is superb, and the atmosphere is perfect for breakfast or leisurely moments by the river. A popular pitstop for cyclists before embarking on long rides. They offer a range of roasts from mild to strong, and surprisingly, their Decaf is quite enjoyable. Opt for a decaf Americano over regular decaf coffee. They also provide vegan pastry options. Enjoy a relaxing time with your dog, taking in the sights at the bike path. This spot is certainly an upgrade from Spokes Cafe for hanging out.

They told me to be careful because the coffee is strong there. I didn't believe it so I ended up getting a iced Americano Venti. The drink was super delicious and very flavorful. The caffeine didn't kick in until I was already on my way home on the freeway doing about 70 when I realized I left the car back in the parking structure... 10/10 will definitely be going back soon!

My experience here was quite interesting. The parking is horrendous!! The location isn't ideal BUT the coffee was great. I struggled for about 15 minutes to find a parking spot. There is a small parking lot with a bunch of parking spots that read "La Colombe employee parking only" and out of the probably 14 spots...only about 4 were taken. Really wish they had designated parking. It was frustrating to be honest but thankfully the service and the coffee made up for it. I ordered a oatmilk latte with vanilla but the draft. It was smooth and nutty. I haven't had a good draft coffee like that in a while so I was very impressed! 5/5 but that parking almost ruined my experience.

The skinny pink hair girl always on very bad mood attending costumers , she's so very rude I just got the worst service on my entire life during my stance living around frogtown 2022-2024 LA. ZERO start to this place bc this lady.

Originally from NY, I avoided La Colombe like the plague because of the pretentious baristas who would sneer in my face if I asked for sweetner in my lattes, but holy crap was this a 180! Super friendly service and even more delicious coffee! The vibe of this place is so relaxing and I definitely have plans on coming back here and getting some work done.

They brought back the amazing pastries!! Thank you La Colombe. I was so excited to come back and have one of the best chocolate croissants. They also added some new ones.

La Colombe coffee shop along the LA River trail is a fantastic spot for a refreshing drink after a nice walk. The iced black and tan is a particular favorite, with its smooth and creamy texture and bold coffee flavor. The staff are accommodating, and they even provide cute little steamers for our daughter, which is a nice touch. Overall, we love stopping by La Colombe after a weekend walk and highly recommend it to others looking for a great coffee shop in the area.

We went on a Tuesday morning, there was a long line but went by quick! Service was good! I love everything about this place, from the outside to the inside was lively with aesthetic designs. I had ordered a latte with goat milk, it was okie and the blueberry muffin was so good! To top it off, the LA river is right outside, so we went for a walk and had a good time with our coffee and bread :)

Love coming here on the weekends because I'm able to walk my dog on the trail that is next to this place! The workers are all very inviting. The wait is never too long and coffee is always good.

5 stars all the way! Hidden gem, literally HIDDEN gem! Highly recommended between the knowledgeable staff and ambiance. I was taking a stroll along the river and decided to pop in and boy was I sure glad I did! The coffee is on point, 5 STARS!

Still the BEST! The atmosphere is chill, baristas are friendly & efficient, coffee always excellent (they have completely spoiled me so other coffees in Frogtown taste blah in comparison). The days I don't get to go, I'm crabby. IJBOL.
