La Contenta Greenpoint

La Contenta has been one of my favorite restaurants for a while now. The bartenders and servers are really hospitable, they take great care of you. The drinks and food are delicious! I’ve tried everything on the menu that I could eat (shellfish allergy) and drink, and honestly everything is worth it here !

Upon entering a Mexican restaurant, the aroma of the cuisine is always a delightful welcome. Regarding the new La Contenta location, I can affirm that the ambiance, atmosphere, culinary offerings, beverages, and customer service were all exceptional. However, the handmade tortillas were particularly outstanding, evoking a sense of nostalgic familiarity. Furthermore, I highly recommend sampling the tepache. I suggest ordering the carne asada tacos with tepache. I highly recommend experiencing the new location; it truly captures the authentic flavors reminiscent of Mexico. The new management has clearly demonstrated their expertise, and their team is dedicated to providing an unparalleled dining experience.

La Contact is such a gem! ✨ It’s a fresh concept Mexican restaurant that feels so warm and home-like the second you walk in. Sometimes they even have live music, which makes it even more special. Roberto is hands down the most hospitable person I’ve ever met — he made the whole experience feel like we were guests in his home. We had so much fun! And the food… wow. We tried guacamole, shrimp tacos, salmon, another shrimp dish, and honestly every single thing was incredible. I couldn’t even pick a favorite because it was all so delicious. And the non alcoholic margaritas are amazing!!! Highly recommend — we’re already planning to come back! 🌮💃

AMAZING FOOD WOW !!! Loved the salmon al pastor it’s a must , love the music and the drinks as well and the fish tacos are so delicious and they use handmade tortillas . 100% recommend and will be back to try more menu items.

When I heard they opened a Greenpoint location, I had to go. The LES location was my first Mexican food experience in New York and has always been my favorite Mexican food in NYC. I recommend the carne asada tacos and the Oaxaca Express cocktail

I’m from Mexico City and can honestly say their food is great! We went on Independence Day and the live music and atmosphere was great!

La Contenta is such a wonderful addition to Greenpoint! We visited on a weeknight and the service was immediately warm and welcoming. Happy hour (from 4-7 p.m.) includes guacamole and chips, fried catfish tacos, and vegetarian nachos and we ordered one of each to share. My kids loved both the food and ambiance of the paper flags or "papel picado" and touch-activated table lamps. The servers were incredibly sweet to them and brought each a marshmallow Paleta Malva Bony Pop at the end of the meal and a tiny mug of "Mexican water" for the adult!
