"Contento is notable just based on accessibility alone—the bathrooms have touchless sinks and grab bars, and the lowered bar allows wheelchair access. But the food and thoughtful service at this East Harlem restaurant deserve to be celebrated as well. The Peruvian-leaning menu is full of standouts, like a tart ceviche, a hefty burger cradling raclette, and a section of memorable large plates like crispy pork katsu. This is a phenomenal date night spot, but you could easily just pull up to the bar if you live in the neighborhood, consume that burger, and feel the contagious energy of the place." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, carlo mantuano
"You should come to Contento in East Harlem for dinner uptown after a walk around Central Park. Beyond the delicious mahi mahi ceviche swimming in a wildly citrusy leche de tigre and a jenga tower of crispy pork katsu with vinegary slaw, the service here is excellent. On one of our visits, almost every member of the staff checked in on us throughout the night, offering backstory on the wine producer of our $35 bottle of rosé from North Fork, and making sure we were well hydrated. It’s also worth mentioning that the restaurant was built with accessibility in mind, with a lowered bar counter and a bathroom with a wide door, lower sink and toilet, angled mirror, and handle by the toilet.t." - nikko duren
"Contento in East Harlem serves delicious Peruvian dishes like mahi mahi ceviche bathing in leche de tigre and crispy pork katsu with vinegar-soaked slaw. Aside from their well-executed small plates and great wine selection, Contento was built with accessibility in mind. It’s the only place in NYC we’ve been to with a lowered bar counter designed so that anyone can hang out there with a glass of wine and a plate of octopus in black chimichurri sauce." - hannah albertine, carina finn koeppicus

"Contento is a phenomenal date night spot that has what we call The Feel Good Factor™. This East Harlem restaurant’s Peruvian-leaning menu is full of standouts like a tart ceviche and a hefty burger cradling raclette, and you can eat both of these things on the heated patio out front." - team infatuation
