The 25 Best Restaurants In Barcelona 2024

"Gaudí-influenced Casa Sayrach is possibly Barcelona’s most over-the-top work of modernist architecture that hasn’t been turned into a museum. It’s home to mezzanine-floor La Dama, a Mediterranean-French restaurant that looks like the elegant apartment of a nimble-footed socialite heiress of the same era, with its mirrored doorways, crimson velvet banquettes, and vintage floral wallpaper. Great design doesn’t always equate to great food, but La Dama is the exception. There are dishes like mushroom risotto, juicy whole-cooked roasted coquelet, and squid in the calamari carbonara that’s sliced like tagliatelle to give the classic pasta dish a beautifully textured twist. This spot offers a reasonably priced two- or three-course lunch (€21 or €26, respectively), but the evening, when the candles are lit, is when this place really impresses. " - isabelle kliger

A beautiful restaurant, both inside and outside. We enjoyed the lamb, tenderloin, as well as the calamari carbonara (appetizer). Endives salad and truffle fries were not bad as well. Cod and the asparagus risotto were the only mediocre dish, overall had a great time!

DANA TEDESCO

Google
Top of the line hidden gem in Gràcia / Eixample. Delicious food & drinks. Great service. A classy, yet trendy vibe. All dishes had a tasty twist, such as crispy guanciale & almonds on the asparagus risotto. The Spanish cod with tomatoes, olives & capers was excellent. Try their sister cocktail bar "Galileo" for more unique drinks after your dinner!

Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful building! Every single member of staff was super friendly, helpful and kind. The food was also incredible, the Duck Wellington was amazing. Will be back for sure!

Google
Incredible ambiance from the moment you see the exterior facade til the moment you walk in and the man uses a huge key to open the door for you. The food is good albeit not the best in BCN but it is really the total experience that delivers at a reasonable price.

This restaurant is in a magnificent location, and the architecture is astonishing. The Gaudi style modernist building is an experience in itself worth seeing. The decor of the restaurant is also pleasing, lots of worm lights, and artwork. Tables are a bit too close to each other for this type of venue. The food is ok, fresh ingredients. Was expecting a bit more attention to detail from this king of high ranked establishment: my steak had lots of fat on the edge, not trimmed, and also lots of sinue. The lobster pasta was supposed to be spicy(in fact, the server warned me it would be spicy), but the dish had zero spice when it came. The staff was very attentive, they even brought me a plate of pettie four with a candle and a Happy Birthday message, which I really appreciated. The desert was great, the raspberry signature desert, but my son's "fruit salad" litteraly had only gren apple and pineaple. Nothing else. It was a great experience to be there, but for the price we paid, we could have easily eaten at a Michelin star location. Will not return.

Last night on our Mother/Daughter holiday. The building is a stunner!! We shared plates…Started with the quinoa salad, wild boar and finished with the duck Wellington. The only change I would make is the knife & fork for the duck. It was really hard to cut. 😉

We had our last dinner at La Dama before departing Barcelona. The place did not disappoint. The atmosphere was memorable, and the waiters were attentive. I would visit again when I return to Barcelona.

Google
Best part of this place is the location, the drinks and the interior inside is amazing. The food was good but nothing extra ordinary and the service was not good at all. We felt very stressed to leave and they came several time asking if we finished our food even though we just wanted to have a relaxing dinner. Maybe they should not have late dinner to book.. we were in the 2 hours time of table reservation but still they say kitchen needs to go home.. this is not the guests problem to consider but should be solved from their side.

Yelp
If you're looking for an unforgettable experience with a speakeasy vibe, La Dama is a must-visit! I went with a large group and had the chance to try a variety of dishes. Some standouts that you absolutely have to try include the STEAK TARTARE 'LA DAMA', SWORDFISH CRUDO, STRACCIATELLA PUGLIESE, LOBSTER SPAGHETTI ALLA CHITARRA ARRABBIATA, and my all-time favorite, the WELLINGTON DUCK MAGRET! For dessert, don't miss the APPLE CRUMBLE and the MOUSSE DE CAFE. The servers were incredibly sweet and attentive, making the experience even better. ENJOY! There were far too many photos to upload, so here's a video instead. :) https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFRLqKWozp3/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Yelp
My mother and I had such a beautiful dinner experience here. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was relaxed, and all of the staff were extremely friendly. From start to finish everything was perfect! Definitely go experience it for yourself.

Yelp
An upscale restaurant inside Casa Sayrach (designed by Manuel Sayrach, a student of Gaudí) that I went to as part of a goodbye dinner for my tour group. The interior was elegantly quirky and candlelit. Every room is decorated differently, which was fun to observe since our group was spread out among several tables. The presentation of the dishes is gorgeous and enticing, while the taste is flavorful and fulfilling. Special mentions go to the lobster spoons, beef onglet, sole meunière, and tarte tatin. I didn't get to try the cocktails; maybe next time :) The candles by the bathroom were a real mystery at first, but I later saw that they are first situated on an angled metal candleholder that allows for the wax to drip into that shape over time. How interesting LOL

Yelp
What an amazing restaurant, honestly, a 10 but can only leave 5 stars so that's what the rating is gonna be. I'll start with how easy it was to book a reservation. I called them and set up a date/time but had to change it. I reached out via email and it was changed and confirmed right away. When you first get there you are greeted at the entrance and escorted to the restaurant. The foyer and elevator are stunning! Once you enter the restaurant you see the bar at your left, it was definitely a spot worth a pic! We were a big group so we were seated in a private area which I was thankful for because it made the experience more special (we were celebrating my moms birthday). The restaurant is so gorgeous, it feels like you've been transported back in time to a wonderful era. The food is delicious too, I had the duck Wellington and it did not disappoint, it was amazing! The mashed potatoes and beef tenderloin were also to die for. I highly recommend booking a reservation here if you're visiting Barcelona, it was an unforgettable experience and we can't wait to be back. Pro tip for smokers: they have a very cute patio

Yelp
Delicious! We stopped in with a small group as part of a tour of the city and were surprised they'd select such a great spot! Quaint and charming with awesome food and service. Great location too.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible experience. We made a reservation at La Dama in December 2024 for a March 2025 dinner. In February, the restaurant unexpectedly informs us we now need to pay a $124 fee to hold our reservation, which we pay believing this further holds our spot. We travel 6k km to Barcelona and two days before our last night's special dinner at La Dama, they tell us they don't have a table for us at our reserved time of 8pm, but they can offer us 5pm or 10pm (WTF!) OR...they can put us at a high top in the "bar". Since every other nice restaurant in Barcelona is booked by this point, we have no choice except to take the high top. When we get to the restaurant, we discover that the high top is 0.5 x 1.5m (for three people) and stuck by itself in the corner of the entry foyer (which happens to have a bar-it's not in "the" bar). When we lightly protest, there is zero accommodation. When we ask if we can get a refund for our deposit, they flatly say no. So three of us crammed into a tiny table sitting on uncomfortable stools, getting jostled by incoming diners and never got to see the inside of the dining room that is supposedly part of the La Dama experience. We hurried through our unpleasant meal and never looked back. We understand that things come up, but there were so many ways La Dama could have accommodated us or improved our experience for us but didn't offer anything other than a cheap round of drinks.

Yelp
A fun evening celebrating a friends birthday. Great food and drinks. Attentive wait staff. Loved the interior and exterior designs too

Yelp
My wife and I went here for dinner on Saturday night and really enjoyed the ambiance and food. We were late due to most streets being closed off because of a bike race and the staff was very understanding. We were able to get cocktails at their amazing bar while we waited. Our table for dinner was located in a great space and we ordered the burrata, steak for two, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and cheesecake. Their cocktail and wine list is great, we ordered cocktails, a bottle of wine from Burgundy and Tokaji for dessert wine. My only complaint is that there was a family with a ~6 year old watching tv shows on his parent's phone at full volume for over an hour. Candidly this is not a place to take children and I wish somebody on the waitstaff would've said something as it was really annoying, especially when most people there are enjoying date night or a nice night out with friends and family. Overall good experience and we live in Barcelona so we'll probably go back at some point but maybe just the bar for drinks.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience! The architecture and atmosphere are funky and intriguing. A doorman greats you and leads you into this secret apartment. The food and cocktails were delicious. I had octopus and it was great. The waiters were very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
This was a gorgeous space and wonderful food, with a full bar. All the art displayed was truly captivating. It was a bit more quiet than I would have liked but other than that, a wonderful experience.

Yelp
The building is a masterpiece, make sure to enjoy cocktails in the bar before dinner. The food is unusual in a ver good way.

Yelp
I very, very rarely write reviews unless they are positive because I have a lot of respect for those in the service industry and the restaurant business, but I figured since I am someone who HAS TO research a place very thoroughly before visiting, I should help the next person who comes along researching La Dama before a dinner out in Barcelona. We booked La Dama through Airbnb Restaurants, a new feature on the website that allows you to book tables at certain restaurants via a partnership with Resy. When I mentioned this at the restaurant after they didn't have our group's name in the reservation system, we were told that this was "impossible" and were we SURE that we had booked a table at La Dama (I was asked this multiple times). We were then treated very rudely by the hostess and various staff who made a show out of finding a place for us. I can understand that having an unexpected group of 8 show up on a Saturday night at peak time for a reservation you were not aware of would be inconvenient, but in any other circumstance that I've been in where this has happened, the restaurant has at least apologized and not treated guests like an inconvenience. The food was quite good and wine selection quite good as well, but there were other small things - not providing a knife other than a fish knife to those with the salmon entree when they had to cut asparagus (and so had to borrow knives from others at the table), laughing at one of our guests when she had to repeat an order for a glass of wine 4x and then pretending like they hadn't heard the order in the first place, etc. On the way out, staff once again told us "Next time, don't make the reservation through Airbnb!" as we walked out the door. Pretty sure they were trying to make a joke but once again, making paying guests feel like THEY are the ones in the wrong for making a reservation online that the restaurant has not kept track of is frankly rude. Again, this sounds like quite a rant and might seem ridiculous to some readers but I haven't had a restaurant experience that was quite this unpleasant in a very long time. I in no way felt welcomed or comfortable and felt rather like I was being ridiculed for the entire dinner. Would not go back and had to write this novel of a review.... 2/5 because the bartender at the front is an absolute angel who makes a killer cocktail and because the space/building/decor is truly spectacular.

Yelp
RUN RUN RUN! I had food poisoning at La Dama last night. I've never been sicker in my life! I was so sick I missed my flight back to nyc today and had to see a doctor at my hotel and go to the ER. Overall this was a very unpleasant and expensive experience. I ate several appetizers but I believe the culprit was the white beans and seafood entree (see picture attached). We spent over 300 EUR on dinner and now I have over 1,000 EUR in medical and travel expenses. This was a very disappointing and painful experience. I will never rerun.

Yelp
Wow! This is the best restaurant that I have eaten in in Spain, and one of the best anywhere in Europe or elsewhere. The restaurant is situated in a fabulous 'mansion'-like dining-room setting, and we happened to eat on a very slow Monday evening where the only other group was in another separated room. Thus our experience was quite private and intimate and extremely enjoyable. The menu is expansive and a combination of Catalan and Spanish regional cuisine with a French style/presentation. The menus are available in multiple languages and the staff speak multiple languages as well. We customized our own menu combining various appetizers, small plates, and large plates, and the combination was fabulous. Several small 'amuse bouche' items were presented which were fabulous, including a sea urchin soup served in a shell. Wine pairings suggested by the staff were fabulous, and the desserts were amazing- in fact their banana tarte tatin is one of the most memorable and delicious desserts I have ever eaten. This restaurant is a MUST for fans of fine dining in the Barcelona area. The cost was over 200 euro combined for the two of us, and we left extremely full & satisfied and tried (and drank) a great number of things. For those from the SF Bay Area- think Gary Danko and Meadowood (Napa), but more antiquated and 'classier' surrounding, and honestly I much preferred this meal to any I have had at any elite SF Bay restaurant. This is a restaurant I would personally book well in advance of my next trip to Barcelona, whenever that is...5 stars up and down the spectrum for this experience.

Yelp
What an amazing experience I had at la Dama. This is a fine place to go. The food and the service were all top notch and delicious

Yelp
The one star I am giving La Dama is for the hard-working & very apologetic Russian waitress who patiently dealt with our many (warranted) complaints. As for the remaining four stars, I'll say that the ambience at La Dama is great, but everything else really isn't. I came here with a group of 5 for a pre-Christmas dinner. We were obligated to pay $100+ per person and yet received horrible service, sub-par food, and the day manager even had the gall to ARGUE with one of our party about her steak, which she asked for "al punto" (medium or "to the point") but which was blackened on the outside and raw/bleeding on the inside. To me, this kind of experience might also serve as a warning for tourists, who should be careful they are not taken advantage of. My own party (not tourists) experienced some sketchy shit: For example, one of our party received fries that were clearly of the defreeze-and-microwave type. When she complained, they brought back a different batch of fries that were clearly homemade -- meaning that they were planning on serving us the cheapest, lowest quality stuff they had in the house. If we weren't fluent Spanish speakers able to articulate our complaints and argue with management, they might have tried to trick us in other ways as well. It's really a pity that this restaurant, which is located in a gorgeous modernist-style building and which (just a few years ago) was one of the highest-quality eateries in the city, has been ruined by a boring menu and poor service.

Yelp
La Dama came highly recommended...we walked in, greeted, and swiftly served. He had this amazing braised pork which was super tender with sweet sauce which paired perfectly. I got the steam sea bass and it was yummy..it came with potatoes and some cooked julienned carrots, celery, and onions. total with wine, water, aperterif was 200€ for two. I guess high end places also charge cover which was 8€ each. Spain is different from france in that only 8% vat is included in the bill. Im still not sure how much to tip if they include Cover in the bill. So confusing!

Yelp
Excellent service and amazing atmosphere. You feel transported into a different moment in time. Has been refurbished recently. Try the cocktails and the food is delicious as well.

Yelp
Absolutely magnificent!! After one meal here, we booked for the following night. That was fantastic as well. This restaurant alone is reason to return to Barcelona!
