We had just arrived in Neuchatêl and checked into the hotel. On the way to the old town we were looking for a good place to eat. We found this restaurant on Google Maps and it was very close. So our expectation was to get something good to eat in a small old town restaurant. We got a table inside. (They were usually booked up, so we got lucky and will make reservations next time) We were really impressed with the attention to detail they seem to have put into the restaurant.
When we opened the menu we noticed that the prices are rather upscale, but also that there are probably more elaborate creations to eat here.
I am usually a friend of simpler dishes, but was actually surprised here how well these creations with different flavors complemented each other perfectly. It reminded me a bit of kaiseki, a Japanese style of cooking.
The bill was as expected for us relatively high, but by the super service, the atmosphere and the palate feast well justifiable. We will gladly visit the restaurant again (this time with reservation) and also recommend it.
