"Oaxaca is no less celebrated for its mezcal production, and this South Broadway sibling to Adelitas Cocina y Cantina does the culture surrounding the agave spirit proud. Not only is the selection exceptional, but the staff is well-versed in its every detail. Palenque serves food too — including, with any luck, tlayudas on special: Think of them as Oaxaca’s oversized answer to tostadas. (Bonus: you can also try pulque, a refreshing beverage fermented from agave sap, just down the block at Dos Luces Brewery.)" - Ruth Tobias

When arrived, place was very busy and a bit loud. I knew having conversation was going to be difficult. But I should expect when seated on patio. Service was good but a little unorganized with people in training. Atmosphere like I said before was loud. Now once the food came I was smiling ear to ear. The food smelled so good and tasted fantastic. Overall, I enjoyed eating here and think you will to.

I got an al pastor chimichanga. It was ok because I feel like it could have been fried longer. It was like soft fried. The tortilla didn't have the crunch and golden brown look that I was expecting. The ceviche was excellent. My guy got the carne asada burrito and he said it was alright. You scan the QR code for the menu and there are 2 codes to scan to see what they serve. The server was very nice and helpful. Michelada was delicious also. Parking is on the street and seating is either covered outdoors with heaters or indoors, where we sat and the atmosphere was chill.

La Doña is a Mezcal-centric cocktail bar serving Mexican street food in rustic digs behind Adelitas. We arrived at La Doña and were seated at a table by the bar. The aesthetic was lively and there was a line out the door when we arrived (which can be attributed to La Doña's Happy Hour which also runs on Saturdays from 4pm-6pm). There was a large patio that was covered and heated. The bar was an intimate, low-lit space harboring top-shelf mezcals. Our server Julie was awesome - she was knowledgeable on the entire menu & led us through their robust selection of mezcals and recommended her favorite cocktails & food options. You can't go to La Doña and not do a flight of Mezcal. Our flight included the Wahaka Espadín Botaniko, the Quiereme Mucho Tepextate, and the Bozal Tobala. The Wahaka Espadín Botaniko was a clean mezcal (almost reminiscent of gin) with a hint of juniper and cardamom. The Quiereme Mucho Tepextate was floral with an earthy finish. The Bozal Tobala was bright and citrus forward. This was the start to a very fun meal. The Banana Con Clase was made with Mezcal Veras reposado, Rhum JM Volcanique, tepache, & walnut. This cocktail surprised me in the best way - not a cocktail I would regularly order but I loved it. It was a unique spirit forward drink (like a mezcal old fashioned) with a hint of banana sweetness. The Mezcalrita was made with Madre Mezcal Espadin, fresh lime, & house-made simple syrup. The Raices Profundas was made with La Luna Cupreata, Lejay Creme de Cassis, beet, lemon, rosemary, & egg white. The Coco Morado was made with Tequila Ocho Blanco, coconut, guava, & lavender - lovely cocktail in looks & taste. We started the meal off right with a Chips & Salsa flight - they had a great variety of salsas & sauces (truly something for everyone). If I had to pick, my favorite was the chipotle sauce but I really liked trying them all! The Tartar De Atun was made with Ahi Tuna marinated in soy sauce, served on a bed of avocado, onion, tomato, topped with a balsamic drizzle and toasted sesame seeds. Beautiful, bright, & refreshing - the tuna was high quality and topped a high cylinder of avocado. For famous dishes, we had the Molcajete De Adelitas made with marinated grilled steak, chicken & shrimp with a spicy tomato, cheddar cheese sauce, accompanied by green onions, nopales and panela cheese. Corn and flour tortillas were served on the side. The molcajete is a must order - it was piping hot, mouthwatering stew goodness that I couldn't get enough of. This dish had amazing, authentic flavor that stayed hot the whole meal due to the stone bowl. The Mole Verde was a slow cooked chicken thigh smothered with mole pipian and served with yellow rice, refried beans, lettuce and pico de gallo. The chicken was tender and juicy and paired well with the vibrant mole. The Enchiladas de Oaxaca was made with three corn tortillas filled with cheese & carnitas and served with refried beans, rice, lettuce, pico de gallo, and mole. The classic Oaxacan-style enchiladas were doused in sauce and stuffed with meat & melty oaxaca cheese making for savory bites.

Very friendly staff. Huge selection of Mezcal, including some that are difficult to find. Cocktails were well-crafted and tasted great. All the food we tried was solid. We will be back!

I love that this restaurant is named after the one and only Maria Felix, La Doña. This was such a fun restaurant to eat at. It was exactly what my husband and I were looking for date night and it definitely passed the vibe check. From the Margaritas to the Molcajete and let’s not forget the fresh chips and salsa, all were on point! The Patio dining at night gave it such a great ambiance. The staff was attentive, friendly and fast. We definitely will be back our next Denver trip!

I was there this past Saturday and absolutely loved the place, service and food. You not only have their menu but also the famous Adelitas menu, they shared the kitchen. We had the Tlayuda (Oaxaca dish) and Chile Colorado, it was so tasty, going back ASAP

The experience was amazing when a table for 9 was set for me and my party! The food was HOT and absolutely amazing 🤩 I would definitely go back again. And Betsy was our waitress! She was absolutely kind and worked well with everyone at the table. She was able to be patient and listened to everyone’s request and delivered. So glad she was apart of our first gathering here! Thank you Betsy and La Donia! 🥰🤩❤️👌

I was genuinely surprised with this restaurant because usually when you go to a trendy Mexican restaurant, the food can be a little disappointing. I guarantee you this place is as authentic as they come! not only are they trendy, has a beautiful aesthetic, the food is absolutely amazing and authentic. The price is absolutely worth the flavor put into this food. I’ve never had lamb flautas, that was a different flavor than I’m used to but it was good. The staff is absolutely wonderful and helpful with the menu, The bathrooms were well-kept. 10/10

Yelp
Wow!!! Amazing food! We stopped in while visiting the area and opted for outdoor dining. The food was delicious, flavorful, and well seasoned. The guacamole was fresh and not too spicy. They also have a great salsa appetizer trio that we shared. We shared the entrees- starting with molcajete de adelitas (10/10). This was such a stand out! It came to the table sizzling. The taste and flavor of every component blended together perfectly. I also found the entire dish unique with the use of melted cheese. We also shared the mole oxaca which was great (8/10) - although this dish was good, it was not nowhere near as unique as the molcajete.the Naranja Fresca was a nice fresh mezcal cocktail. Olas de rubi was good too but not as light with the added egg white. Overall, great food and drinks, nice atmosphere and good service. I would go back for lunch or a more casual dinner.

Yelp
Came here Friday at 6pm, waited about 30 min for a table after putting my name down. Sat outside. Quite a lot of seating. The bathroom situation suuuuuckeed. There were like two restrooms and they were always occupied. They should have more bathrooms for such a big place! I think they're connected with Adelitas. same owners or something? Chips and salsa were alright, salsa had quite a kick The molcajete de adelitas ($38) was a bowl of steak, shrimp, cheese, etc and we got both flour and corn tortillas. It was tasty! Especially when I added tobasco sauce. I liked the flour tortillas more than the corn. I think this dish is meant for two people? Idk but I could have eaten the whole thing myself. I would come back to try more.

Yelp
The Skinny: AMAZING drinks - food was surprisingly mediocre. (drinks 5/food 3) The Overview: First off, I was very excited to try this place since I had heard rave reviews about drinks & food. We started off with some drinks, we ended up with the Raices Profundas, Seda Verde, and Cigarro De Papa. All the drinks were amazing - almost too easy going down. Refreshing, well balanced, unique and pretty. The bartenders know what they are doing! After having amazing drinks I was pretty pumped for the food. Unfortunately - it missed the mark for me . They had food from their sister restaurant Adelitas. I had the taco dish with Lengua, carne asada, and carnitas. Overall the tacos all were a bit on the bland side and lacked seasoning. Maybe it was my over hyped expectations from being blown away by the drinks - but even with some salsa there was much left to be desired flavor-wise in the food. Vibes/service: Overall, the spot is situated in a great spot on broadway - close enough to stuff but not in the central so that its too rowdy. There's an outdoor patio with plenty of seating and an indoor area with tables & bar seating - I'd recommend indoors for a better vibe. The bar is where its at and you get to see all the mezcal and tequilas they have on hand - very impressive! Service was friendly and quick. Would I come back: Drinks were so great I'd definitely come back - and from all the rave reviews I'd be willing to give the food another shot as well. Maybe just an off night.

Yelp
Wow, this place surprised us both. We weren't expecting such perfection, but then again, when you look at the Yelp reviews, it isn't off the table to expect legit amazing. Legit amazing is what we got. First, can we talk about the bar? It's absolutely gorgeous with the back lighting and bottle arrangement. I loved the cushioned seats also and all the wood. There are also community style seating as well as traditional tables, all minimally decorated but done so well. The entire vibe of La Dona is inviting, mellow, and relaxing. I felt myself exhaling as we walked in! And, we haven't even gotten to Happy Hour. Double wow. Flavors were so on point, cooked to order and visually pleasing. Happy Hour was perfect. We ordered Chips + Queso, Queso Fundido and Lamb Flautas. We left nothing, haha. I loved my Paloma - maybe too much. This was some easy drinking, lol. This is one of those places we will certainly return to and bring friends. Really well done!

Yelp
La Doña is a perfect spot for an evening out or a casual get together. I'm a fan of Adelita's and I just learned La Dona is a sister restaurant. La Dona's has a great covered patio with the same delicious food from Adelita's plus a variety of cocktails which can be ordered with or without spirits. Our server was polite and quick to take our order. Our food came out quickly. I ordered the tacos and I like that you can mix and match. I ordered lengua and asada on this occasion but it doesn't matter which ones I order - I like them all. If you're looking for a sweet treat order the flan. It's creamy, sweet and light.

Yelp
We went to go eat at Adelitas and there was a 20 minute wait. While walking around the block we discovered this was part of the same restaurant. This restaurant had selections for both restaurants! We decided to eat inside because it was a little cool out. The service was friendly and quick. First we had the Lamb Flautitas appetizer the sauce was the best we ever had. We went with the waiter's selection and ordered the molecejete de Mariscos it was amazing served in stone, still sizzling throughout the meal coming with our soft tortillas on the side It was enough for 2 people. My daughter ordered the enchiladas, and her fiancé ordered the Carne Asada. Both were very happy with their meals but eyeing ours. We will definitely return on our next visit.

Yelp
The food was so good! I had their breakfast burrito and it was delicious. A lot of food for the price too. Service was slow is the only reason I'm not scoring 5 stars

Lisa R.

Yelp
Went here for a weeknight dinner with friends and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved everything! I've had Adelita's and recall liking them a lot, but La Dona is a more casual spot with access to both menus! We had the happy hour chips and salsa, which was solid. Then, I had to order the Enchiladas with the mole sauce. This was delicious! I will say I'm not a huge fan of refried beans, so I didn't dabble much with my sides as I was too enamored with my enchiladas! Plus, I was able to snag a pint size Michelada, which was the icing on the cake for me. So yummy! (These usually come in 25 oz which is just too much fluid for me!) Can't wait to come back!

Amy R.

Yelp
I'm SO GLAD we stopped by to eat here on a whim. Our server was so helpful and friendly! I'm glad she gave us the inside scoop on the moles because they were amazing! My husband and I ordered a mole Oaxaca and mole verde dish each so we could try them both. I loved both of them!! The verde has a lighter, fresher flavor profile and the Oaxaca is smoky with a really robust depth of flavor. The enchiladas and chicken they were spread on top of were also beautifully made. The ambiance inside and also on their expansive patio is fun, slightly romantic but still casual. I would highly recommend La Doña for date night, girls night, solo night, any night...

Caylie R.

Yelp
Our server was super friendly and attentive. I got the carnitas enchiladas and they were amazing! Cocktails were good too.

Kayla R.

Yelp
We all love a good Taco Tuesday, am I right?! I was here visiting for a work trip and I hit up this place with my coworker and his lovely wife to grab some dinner! It was a beautiful night out so we ended up sitting outside on the patio area and really enjoying the evening! We ordered some queso and guacamole to start. And of course, had to have the house mezcal margarita with salt. It was delicious! I'm a HUGE fan of mezcal so I had to get it. It was super refreshing! The queso and guacamole were also so delicious. Our server was great and made sure he took care of us all night long, which was great. For the tacos, I believe they had some deals for Taco Tuesday, so I ordered a couple of them. The tacos were really good, too! Definitely a great spot I would think for a happy hour or even a dinner with friends. I definitely enjoyed it!

Amy G.

Yelp
Our new favorite Mexican restaurant! Loved everything about this place- the friendly service, creative cocktails and of course the amazing food. There is a large outdoor patio that is covered, as well as indoor seating. We sat inside and were quickly greeted by our waitress with a thorough explanation of the menu and specialties. You can order but from here and from the kitchen next door, Adelitas. We got drinks from the bar that were perfectly balanced and flavorful. Then we started with a salsa flight and the three different options were delicious. The tomatillo salsa was so fresh and the avocado one had a nice spice. For dinner, I got the chile rellenos from the adelitas side of the menu. This is under the vegetarian side but the waitress asked if I would prefer yellow rice (which is cooked in a broth) and this was much appreciated. I got one of each type and both were incredible. Super savory with plenty of zest from the red and green sauce. The rice and beans were an excellent compliment as well. My husband ordered the Enchiladas de Oxaca which were equally delicious. He chose the Al pastor flavor and it was such an amazing mix of spicy and and sweet. The enchiladas were cooked perfectly (not soggy at all) and the mole sauces were rich and smoky. We enjoyed both of our meals and were way too full of dessert. Looking forward to coming back and trying the tacos!

Nathan L.

Yelp
Andy was a so knowledgeable about the Mezcal and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting about the tasting notes. Can't wait to come back would look forward to having him as a server again.

Anna F.

Yelp
What a great little sister to Adelitas! I had been several times when it was still to Palenque, and while I loved the cocktails, I was never super impressed with the food. I finally had the opportunity to check out La Dona for a friend's birthday and was super impressed with the improvements. The all season patio is fantastic as it doubles the space, provides warmth in the winter, and equally as important, shade in the summer! The mezcal list is extensive with some serious big hitters, but they also have lots of classics and twists on classics- like the mezcal old fashioned. The food was excellent- big shout out to head chef, Danny! I absolutely loved the spice level in many of the dishes. We had mostly apps, queso, guac, and ceviche, and they were all awesome. I especially loved the ceviche- I am not normally a fan of shrimp but the citrus and spice was perfection. Can't wait to come back to sample more of the menu and maybe a mezcal tasting!

Rachel M.

Yelp
I LOVE the atmosphere of this place! Dimly lit (yet not too dark), decorative wood, beautiful paintings, and very kind & attentive service. Their Taco Tuesday deals are top-notch: $5 house margs and beer, $11 beer + shot, and various types of Mezcal. The HH tacos are $2 each (small corn tortillas but so delicious!), chips & salsa is $2, and the lamb flauta appetizer was $9 of pure flavor! They share a menu with Adelitas next door (which is iconic as well) but I prefer the ambiance of this restaurant over the other. It's easier to converse; a bit more intimate.

Gee And Squidward T.

Yelp
The green pozole is amazing! Service and Ambiance is great. Do the combo of beer and a shot of mezcal it's worth it.

Tod B.

Yelp
Ok Fans this place is a show stopper!! This spot is a must stop in cause you will be missing out on some good eats. Omg the presentation, the ambience , the food was amazing if not to say the least From the Steak Tacos to the Huge Seafood dish , chips and salsa , mushroom dish OMG and that was just the appetizers It's has 2 business adjoined into one spot and they made this all work righteously This is my new favorite spot for amazing Mexican food Service was very attentive like all places should be

Sage S.

Yelp
The molcajete is on point. Great drink selection, food from either their kitchen or Adelita's. Don't miss it.

Haylee O.

Yelp
The MARGARITA FLIGHT This was everything. Sweet, spicy and light. The queso fundido was some of the best I've had in Colorado, cute outdoor seating. Need to come back for the molejete.

Tatiana T.

Yelp
This restaurant is delicious! I will definitely be coming back. There were lots of vegetarian options, and my food was tasty and good. No complaints! Additionally, my drinks were excellent. The service was great, and the waitress was cordial and funny. We truly had a good time and I can't wait to bring my friends when they come to visit me in Colorado.

Dana K.

Yelp
I really was between 4 and 5 stars because of the check-in here, but the food is probably 6 stars out of 5, so it works out! I was with a group, and all 4 of us loved the drinks and food at La Dona. The food is from adelita's which is around the corner. Recommended on Yelp, we had the ceviche, the queso fundito, as appetizers, the molchajete with all the protein and the enchiladas. This place is nothing short of amazing.....I'm such a weirdo, that I dreamed all night about how to make the tomato broth in the molchajete! I mean, what if I can never figure it out, and can't dive the 31 minutes it takes from my house???? It was life changing, that food! I forgot how hard it was to get into the restaurant, that street parking was a little walk, that they sent me to another restaurant to wait until my table was ready, that the check was kind of pricey.......yes, hell yes, I would go back!!!

Denise R.

Yelp
First time here at the restaurant heard about it from some friends and it was absolutely amazing. Nothing like going to a restaurant that takes pride in their food they had a great happy hour menu great patio great music and amazing food

Trish A.

Yelp
It has a nice casual atmosphere. The service was good. The food was the same as Adelita's. We were not informed about the daily specials, so I don't know if they offer the same specials as Adelita's. The outside seating is excellent and the inside offers as much seating as Adelita's. We will continue to visit this location.

Matt C.

Yelp
Take my money. Just take it. As soon as I heard about this spot (which to be honest was somewhat recently) I knew I had to see what the fuss was about. For a bar rat like me, the fuss is warranted! A buddy and I popped in last Friday night. We were impressed with the cocktails, bartenders, as well as the bones of the bar itself. It's low lit but not dark, and with all the reclaimed wood it felt like we were sitting outside in the most pleasant of ways. Though they do have a spacious outdoor patio if that floats your boat. If you sit at the bar, you'll get the chance to witness the bartenders in action. The gentleman behind the stick was cool as the other side of the pillow. More importantly, dished out incredible cocktails. I ended up going with their House Margarita and Strawberry Negroni. IMO, a Margarita (or any sour for that matter) is one of the quintessential cocktails to test a bartender. Well, this dude passed with flying colors. I drank it far too quickly. Moving on to a slow sipper, their mezcal negroni variation was splendid. For those who find Campari too bitter, they infuse theirs with strawberries, which sweetens up the flavors. I'm not 100% certain, but it's highly probably you can order food from Adelitas next door. Our bartender offered us chips and salsa (only $2) and I thought to myself, "why can't this be the new bar nuts?" Fantastic experience and a great neighborhood vibe. Just with high quality mezcal and tequila. Sold, sold, sold!

Andrew L.

Yelp
Great mezcal selection and super nice and knowledgable staff. The place gets pretty busy and loud during happy hour. Check them out!!

Kevin N.

Yelp
My goal was to try Adelitas but there was a 40 minute wait on a Thursday, so we went to La Dona instead. They share a kitchen with Adelitas and have the same menu! The vibes were much better here too. It was like being in a speakeasy. In addition to having no wait the service is fast and friendly too! House Margarita - Solid! Especially during happy hour. Enchiladas De Oaxaca - I got the carne asada with the chipotle crema sauce and I was in heaven! The sauce was so creamy and flavorful. The carne asada just melted in your mouth too! My only complaint is the rice and beans were a bit bland, but the enchiladas more than made up for it.

Matt L.

Yelp
This is our favorite Mexican restaurants in Denver! Awesome food, atmosphere, and drinks!

Robert F.

Yelp
We had a great experience at La Dona Mezcaleria. My buddy has been coming here for years, so I had to give it a shot. The dining area was quaint but inviting with a lively atmosphere and vibrant decor. Our waiter was friendly, and went above and beyond to explain the menu and what to expect. For appetizers, their homemade chips and salsa were excellent with the right amount of "kick". They specialize in Mole, so I tried the Mole Verde with a margarita, which were both excellent and I'd highly recommend. I noticed they had an outdoor patio, which I'm sure would be a great option in the summer. I was pleased with my experience and would definitely come back!

Yelp
Two words - Taco Tuesday If you haven't had someone in your circle introduce you to this spot for some top notch tacos, then obviously you are hanging out with the wrong friends who don't 'taco' bout it ‍ Lame.... It's hard to find a spot where every one of your friends who claim they love Mexican food, but have an allergy or restriction of some sort, can chow down and enjoy some tacos that are bomb.com so bring them here! This little hidden gem is located behind Adelita's on south Broadway and might have the best margaritas in Denver with the tequila selection was well. I've been here a few times and can honestly say I've brought the pickiest eaters and snobs who swear they can't find a restaurant who can cater to their "demands"... I mean allergies/restrictions until they dine here! There is a list of tacos ranging from 2-$6 that can be modified to cater anyone who has special dietary restrictions - and guaranteed they will shut up and love it! They also feature a special or featured taco each week which is available until it sells out and can honestly say it has never disappointed me! Get your taco Tuesday on here! Plus.... I promise you will be thanking me later

Kay R.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Love the outdoor patio and location. Be prepared to wait a while.

Abbey L.

Yelp
Drinks were really good and queso was a big pan of melted cheese, exactly the way I like it!

Scott M.

Yelp
Food is good , but so many strikes this night. 1) doesn't allow you to drink at bar while you wait for a table . 2) one bathroom for hundreds of people (men and women) 3) waiter had a slight attitude Saturday night rush doesn't excuse the service and facilities.

Alana Z.

Yelp
My friend suggested this place and raved about their food. I always thought that the best Mexican food was over by Federal and Alameda. Every single thing I had here was FANTASTIC. I ordered the al Pastor Michelada. YUM. It was refreshing and light. We got queso fundido with chorizo for the table. The flour tortillas are bomb. The queso is perfectly melty. The peppers were a nice texture change from the gooey cheese. Loved it. Best queso fundido I've had. Then came the most delicious thing of them all, the enchiladas. I had one al pastor, one carnitas, and one cheese. Holy MOLE. LOL. Wow wow wow. That mole sauce is freaking powerful in flavor and honestly just brings the whole dish together. The rice texture is amazing too. It sticks together which obviously is a quality of rice that I love (I am Chinese). The salsa verde was also phenomenal. Thinking about this dish has me salivating right now. Alan was our server and such a delight. He was knowledgeable and clearly loves the food there. He gave the best recommendations which is always a must in a good server. I had a wonderful time drinking and chowing down. I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone and coming back!

Zulma M.

Yelp
The food wasn't great. I wish they actually made their salsa verde sauce from scratch. I can tell it's from a can. Second....the service tonight was horrible. Wasn't really taken care of. Was only checked on once, and he wasn't even busy since he was standing in the back at times. Drinks....were not what I thought would be. Third....our waiter was rude when ordering. Not professional at all. Came off rushed and as if we should know the menu, when he's the waiter. Overall, the worst. It was cold outside and was told it was warm since we asked for a table inside, lady in the front pretty much made it seem like the only option was outside in the cold when I saw inside, there were seats available. Who can eat outside in 20s degrees, horrible service and bad food. My second time here and it was bad. I heard it was good but i wasn't impressed at all. They need a bigger menu.

Yelp
10/10!!!! This is my favorite restaurant in the city. Order the molcajete with shrimp, steak and chicken. If you try it, it'll become a frequent craving!! The mezcal margaritas are amazing. Don't miss their mezcal Wednesdays! Such a good spot with a great atmosphere and friendly staff/amazing service every time!

Yelp
The food was ok, not authentic Mexican food though. I had the flautas and didn't like them in the green sauce. The green pozole was ok but it had alot of pork fat. The mixed drinks were not very good unless you like mescal. Service was good. I wasn't a fan of the outdoor covered eating area, the chairs were uncomfortable and the floor was uneven.

Yelp
Formerly known as Palenque, La Dona offers a very similar menu and great food/drinks. It's tucked away behind Adelita's, FYI. Mezcalita = so refreshing on a hot day! Especially if you're sitting outside on the patio. Goes well with ceviche or a bowl of green chile posole. New to La Dona that wasn't available from the former menu = enchiladas. Wrapped in corn tortillas, pick your choice of protein and toppings. Chicken with salsa verde for me, please. Love this little neighborhood joint. It's not big, but it's delicious.

Yelp
I was genuinely surprised with this restaurant because usually when you go to a trendy Mexican restaurant, the food can be a little disappointing. I guarantee you this place is as authentic as they come! not only are they trend, has a beautiful aesthetic, the food is absolutely amazing and authentic. The price is absolutely worth the flavor put into this food. I've never had lamb flautas, that was a different flavor than I'm used to but it was good. The staff is absolutely wonderful and helpful with the menu, The bathrooms were well-kept. 10/10

Yelp
Mmmmmole! I love everything here with mole sauce. The Mezcalrita is good too. I like that you can order from Adelita's menu as well. The atmosphere inside by the bar is great.

Yelp
I was in for the first time earlier today with a friend of mine and my service dog. I was told to leave even after explaining my dog is a service animal. That is illegal federally, and as promised I am "leaving" a very honest review because you cannot, in this country, discriminate against a person with a disability under ADA laws AND you also cannot discriminate against a person with a service animal, again under ADA laws. I do actively Advocate Civil Rights so I will not be overlooking that. If a person did not want a service animal in their facility... then maybe do not run a business, because the laws are not exempting you from that form of discrimination. UPDATE in reply to the business's comment in retaliation to my complaint: Under federal law, service animals are protected under Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Lying to defend your discriminatory act does not change real events. At no time did my dog lick anyone. My dog was leashed to me the entire time. Screenshots have been taken so it is far too late to try to lie again. A USDOJ complaint has already been filed. When a place of business makes an error YOU correct the behavior, what you do not do is lie to defend your illegal actions. Finally, no one asked what service my dog provides, but implying you believe you have a right... you actually do not, that is also illegal. You are only permitted to ask two questions, 1. If it is a service animal, and 2. What duties. Furthermore, retaliating about a complaint of discrimination in the form of libel is also ILLEGAL. I will reiterate here that it is too late to edit your comment because I have already screenshot it. When a place of business cannot just admit a wrong they try to lie and smear you. Listen if you do not want to be federally obligated to those with disabilities or those of a different nationality than you, then do not have a business in America. If you do not want upset customers leaving very RAW reviews for bad service, then do not have a business. It is a simple thing.

Yelp
Went to this wonderful restaurant for my birthday (May 5th). Had a blast with the mariachis playing classic songs, the food had me in cloud nine, and the drinks were just the right strong for me! If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant with solid roots, this is the place for you. Also keep an eye on them drinks, they have some great deals

Yelp
They serve Adelita's food here. I recommend you come here instead of Adelita's because it's much less crowded. Their tacos are money and their enchiladas are fire. Guac tastes fresh. Everything is light and not heavy tasting.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance, the food was delicious as well as the service. If you go for the first time please let them know so that you may try their sauces. Simply delicious, and definitely coming back.

Yelp
The Wednesday mezcal deal is a good one! I got to try a few great mezcal options at 50% off! I also enjoyed the food. The waiter was incredibly attentive. He went above and beyond to look out for someone in my party with food allergies. I'll definitely go back!

Yelp
The chips were a tad stale. I asked for a sweeter margarita and the waiter gave me an attitude. They said something along the lines of : well I don't know what you expect because it can not get sweeter than that. I swear I love my fair share of liquor but I was expecting this margarita to taste like a margarita. Like actually taste the lime but all I had was straight up tequila. I just would've preferred if I was met with an answer that didn't make me feel like I was asking for much? Regardless, he delivered what I ended up asking for. Lastly the shrimp tacos were so good; and the ambiance was very relaxed and chill and I loved that.

Yelp
I love this place, the food is great and the mezcal selection is the best in town. I question the direction that the quality of service is headed after my experience this evening. At around 10 I ordered food for myself and my girlfriend from at the bar. I also ordered tacos for my friend who i was expecting at around 10:45. At 10:30 I mentioned to the head bartender that I planned to order neat mezcal pours for us all upon his arrival. She immediately snapped at me, stating that she wouldn't be pouring the mezcal if he was to be in after last call. I expect half-assed service like this at a dive bar, maybe. But not at La Doña, a self-proclaimed mezcaleria - which is generally a term I associate with fun, hospitality, and mezcal-drinking.
