Came here because of the good reviews for the Gluten Free pizzas. I have a wheat allergy and am not GF. Got the GF Works Pizza with a 32oz pitcher of Dos Equis beer. Total came out to $38. I was not impressed with the pizza flavor. It was just okay. The part that I was disappointed in was the lime slices that were served with the beer they were old and turning yellow/brown on the inside and the skin was turning brown so you know they were old.

The food was amazing! I'm not sure I've ever had better Italian food. There was a snag with the kitchen staff making a dish incorrectly a few times but the servers did everything they could to make it right. Everyone was friendly and took good care of us. I can't wait to go back.

Google
While the food was above average, and the service was exceptional, something was going on with kitchen management because it took 40 minutes to get any food. We were offered the obligatory "on-the-house" dessert, but it wasn't very tasty at all. It was more than a little irritating to see around a dozen orders filled for "to-go" customers; I will never understand, nor do I aggree with, call-in (drive-up, et al) customers receiving priority over conventional customers. I understand that it's more lucrative; it's the choice to prioritize based soley on money that I have a problem with. The food and service were so good, we are definitely going to give them another try!

Our server Steve alone was enough to make us want to come back! He is very personable and funny while also providing top tier service making sure we had everything we needed without us having to ask. Food was also fast and delicious, shout out to chef Sergio! Can’t wait to visit again!

Google
Best Italian restaurant I have had in a very long time. I’ve had Italian food in New York and it tasted just as amazing! Definitely recommend and definitely well worth it. Definitely going back! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive he found out it was our first time and brought bread to our table and joked a lot with us. I appreciate that because it’s not very common these days ❤️

It’s been a long while since we ate here. Had lunch, ordered the meatball sandwich, pepperoni pizza and fried calamari. Service was great. The bread on the sub was fresh and warm, a slight crunch. Everything tasted just right and the staff was quick and courteous.

Google
Great vibe, amazing hospitality, and super tasty food! Our server, Sam (or Sammy—sorry, I'm not great with names), was fantastic. My wife and I really enjoyed chatting with her. The food we ordered was excellent in every way, and it wasn’t expensive at all! You have to try their garlic knots—they’re the best I’ve ever had. They also have bar seating with big screens right in front of you. The place is perfect for couples, families, and even single guests.

We tried this place for dinner one evening. We were greeted at the door and sat right away. They do fill up quickly so get there early if you want to get a seat right away. We ordered the Fried Artichokes and some Garlic Knots. Both were just delicious and cooked to perfection. We ordered a Meat Lovers pizza which was cooked to perfection. Even though they were busy the care that was put into making and cooking the pizza was just amazing in the way it tasted and looked. They are a small family run place so you will see the owners there almost all the time. They are open for lunch at 11:00am and close early for 8:30pm on weekends and 7:30pm during the week and are closed on Sundays. The restaurant was clean as were the restrooms. You will usually be checked on by one of the owners during your meal. We cannot wait to return and try some of the pasta dishes they have available. A lot of care goes in to making the food at these restaurant and you can taste it in every bite.

Yelp
I was there back before COVID. When they were at Alma School and Warner in Chandler next to Walmart. But now moved to Dobson and Guadalupe in Mesa. The man that runs it is the original owner with his wife and from the east coast. Just remember out of talk of the town and in the east valley. I know great food. For Italian and also if the founders of the business is from New York. The best right on for the best food cuisine to have. Also they have a catering service also. For your next event. I met the owner a while back a nice guy. Michael Katz Chandler, AZ katzmichael76@gmail.com

Yelp
This is a review from someone that frequented this place near weekly since moving into the area in mid 2018: They stopped using Grande cheese after the ownership change. No reason to really come here for pizza now. It's just ok. That was the one thing that set this place apart: cheese quality. In fact, this place always brought on a food memory of the first job I had washing dished at an Italian restaurant owned by an older Sicilian couple. It no longer invokes said memory... Anyone that has ever messed with costing pizza knows the cheese is the most expensive ingredient. I was actually thinking about asking them if I could buy some Grande off them for my home pies (Grande does not sell direct to consumer)... Guess that's not even a possibility now. After ownership makes a decision like this, you wonder what else is gonna slide off the cliff after. First, it shows that they do not understand the fundamentals of pizza and what distinguishes great pizza from good pizza; furthermore, it shows they don't even trust their existing customers to know what they like... Downgrading such an important ingredient shows a complete lack of respect for existing customer's pallets. Also, no one looks happy that works there. I bet all the employees were getting beat up because of the ingredient downgrades today.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday night to try the stuffed pizza. It was delicious and something kind of fun/unique. We also ordered honey BBQ wings for an appetizer and they were pretty good too. They bring you out free garlic bread and there's oil and balsamic vinegar at the table for dipping which we loved! The service was a little slow considering it wasn't very busy at all but the server was really nice and the prices are reasonable! The atmosphere is that of a casual sit down restaurant.

Mary W.

Yelp
Picked up pizza and wings :) outstanding food! Service was great. Inside looked great but we took it to go!

Yelp
We went to la famiglia for lunch, the server was really helpful and provided us with good suggestions. Really liked the ravioli, the cheese was perfect. The lunch special menu was very reasonably priced. the server found out we were celebrating a friend's bday and he was kind enough to get us a couple of cheese cakes to try. Both the strawberry and Oreo cheese cakes were very good. The restaurant was not too crowded during lunch. Very friendly and welcoming. Service.

Yelp
Don't judge a book by its cover! This place looks a little rough from the street but the owner is a sweet man and the pizza is fantastic: soft, chewy crust, slightly sweet sauce, scrumptious pepperoni. We ate outside in the very small but clean sidewalk patio. There is a great selection of drinks, beer and wine to go or you can eat inside. Ordering is self service but staff brought us our pizza, china plates, utensils and water. A very pleasant meal.

Yelp
Last night we hit up our favorite east side Italian place. La Famiglia is a staple in my diet whenever I want Italian. You can't beat the food, the true Sicilian decor inside or the friendliness of the staff no matter how busy they are. Keep up the great work team. See ya soon

Yelp
Can't believe we've lived here almost 5 years now and didn't know La Famiglia existed. Someone recommended them from instagram and decided to give them a try. So thankful we did! We are from Long Island and I can't really find pizza similar to back home, it's rare when I do. We tried the grandma pie, the pepperoni rolls, and omg the garlic knots. The grandma pie was delicious, the basil was super fresh and the tomatoes were aromatic. The crust was thin and crispy, just how I remember. By far 10/10, the price is steep at $30 a pie but in my opinion totally worth it. The garlic knots were fantastic, we also added extra garlic on top. The crisp on the bottom from the oil was to die for, literally! The dough was soft and filled with flavor. The pepperoni rolls were good, but weren't the star of the show. Like another review mentioned, they only have pepperoni in them so we asked for cheese. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The owners are from Long Island as well. The restaurant was pretty big inside and clean. Can't wait to try more options.

Yelp
Everything I've had from here is delicious but two things that stick out the most are their famous garlic knots, and the Fried Calamari. I've generally given up on fried food, but this calamari is worth it to splurge on occasionally.

Yelp
Being from Jersey I almost got emotional when I saw DISCO FRIES on the menu! It is a super complicated thing? No. Could you order and ask any restaurant to do this for you? Yes. But THIS NAME brings me back to diners at two am with friends, laughing living care free! The pizza reminds me of the literal neighborhood places by me growing up, and my family orders every few weeks!

Yelp
Hubby & I had dinner here last night. I was wanting chicken parm with Alfredo on the pasta. Our favorite Italian restaurant has been disappointing so we came to our second place. We arrived around 5:00 and were seated right away. Service was pretty good. Thankfully, the A/C was working well this time. It's like walking into your grandma's house. However, it could use some TLC. Especially the wood floors. They are pretty scrapped up from the chairs that are missing the floor protector caps. We ordered waters, sangria and beer. The beer was good & cold according to hubby. My sangria came out & looked light in color. My first one was okay, but my second one was very good. Hubby loves bread with oil & balsamic vinegar to dip it in. We add pepper & Parmesan cheese to it. The bread is good. I wanted garlic knots, so we ordered the happy hour ones. You get 6 or $5. They were okay. We felt like they needed to cook them a little longer. Hubby got spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce. He liked it, but said it wasn't as good as our favorite restaurant that starts with an "S". I got my usual with fettuccine noodles. You get 2 pieces of chicken. It was good, but not the best I've had. We both appreciated they give you enough sauce. So many Italian restaurants are very lite on the sauce. We want enough sauce to noodles. We will be back, but it's not our favorite Italian restaurant.

Yelp
Tried their pizza randomly last night. Wow! That has to be some of the best pizza I've had in a couple years. This will be my new favorite!

Steve M.

Yelp
Overall disappointing. Second time I ordered from them. First time garlic knots and pizza were great but wings were so salty they were completely inedible. Fortunately the owner refunded me for the wings because she herself recognized they were ridiculously salty. Decided to give them a second chance and again, the pizza was great but the garlic knots were burnt beyond edibility. Overall their Pizza is very good but inconsistent and coverage of toppings and the marinara is overly sweet for my personal preference. After refunding my money for the salty chicken wings the owner asked me to give them another chance. I now have and I will not be giving them another one.

Kim T.

Yelp
Very good pizza, sandwiches and deserts. Takes like back home. This is my go to spot a few times a week.

Yelp
Amazing food amazing people. Quick, comfortable. Awesome choices. Great atmosphere. My wife & I can talk without music bearing.

Yelp
This was our first time at La Famiglia and we tried the Grandma pizza with the works and it was absolutely amazing, some of the best we've had. The staff was right on top of things and everyone was very pleasant. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
We came on as a group of 4, on a Friday night. It was busy but we were able to get a table right away. The server was very attentive, we all had drinks from the bar menu, and they were so good! We ordered a pizza called the Grandma pizza. Hands down the best pizza I have ever had. We ordered a shrimp Alfredo the Alfredo sauce was homemade and so creamy and good. We also ordered what they call garlic knots, I will definitely be back for more! The atmosphere was cute Italian music playing, the staff was all happy, and worked really good together. I noticed it was a family environment they invite the customer in.Happy to have found this little gem.

Yelp
The worse customer service. So bad we didn't even sit down. We got in and stood there for almost 10 mins and not one employee even acknowledged us. We stood there and 3 servers just walked on by. Even who I think was the manager, she just walked by, not even a "I'll be with you guys in a minute". I mean if the place was busy then I would understand but it wasn't !! Then finally this guy came up to us and said "how can I help you?" Uhhhhh, how about a table!?? Then he said it will be about 15 mins . 15 mins!?! There were atleast 7 open tables!! So we just left. We were so disappointed because we heard good things about this place.

Ginger C.

Yelp
We order from this restaurant tonight for dinner and they messed up our order. Since it has been under new ownership, this place has really gone down-hill and is very over-priced. All 3 of my kids have worked there at one time or another, under the old ownership and it was a great place to eat at. We called to let them know our order was wrong tonight, and the new owner sat there and argued with my husband. We were just calling to let them know that our order was messed up, but they don't care!!!! They can take their pizza and shove it up their @&)&$*+#%.

Yelp
This is a great small Italian place in the East Valley. It reminded me of my college days back in Pittsburgh; they have pepperoni rolls! Coming from NY, pizza is an issue out here in AZ; this place does a good job with their thin crust pies. i have been here a few times over the last 6 months, and they are consistent, and I appreciate that. I always order a cheese pie from a new joint as a good test; this place passes. They have pasta, entrees, pizza, salads, and everything a typical Italian spot would offer. I tried their shrimp parmesan hero, and it was really good. Tried their Sicilian and Works slices as well, they don't shy away from the toppings. The baked manicotti was very good as well; they have good sauce. But, my favorite was the pepperoni rolls, salty and doughy and a good crust on them as well. A good option for Italian. Check them out for yourself.

Yelp
Pizza was great and staff was super friendly and nice to the kids he even put my boys on a chair so they could watch there pizza being made

Yelp
Holy Moly---FINALLY SOME PIZZA THAT TASTES JUST LIKE HOME! Ok, now that I got that out of my system....let me explain...upon walking in you a greeted with the sweetest aroma of Italian spices --the garlic, the basil, the oregano, etc and then you are greeted with a warm hello that feels like you're home. The ambiance and service was friendly and prompt throughout whether you are there to pickup to go or dine in. I've already been there once to carry out but this time I have my mom visiting from NY and I had to bring her here to see for herself and give me an honest review from someone who was just in NY day before vs me who was home in December. We opted to play it safe for her and order a large cheese pie with garlic knots and boy did we make the right decision--the garlic knots were buttery and garlicky pillows of heaven and the pizza had the perfect cheese to sauce ratio with a chewy crust. We wanted to finish it all in one sitting but we were going to stop somewhere else and decided to pack some to go. But it was HARD. After all the pizza places claiming to taste like NY that have failed-just add this spot to your list--you will not regret it.

Yelp
We hosted a small party at La Famiglia this past Saturday for 20 people. They reserved a small area in the restaurant and we were able to work with Josephine on the details and catering options. She was very attentive to details and communicated very well with us leading up to the dinner date. The food was ready upon arrival and staff was super helpful throughout our dinner. We had a few pizzas, salad, and two pasta dishes (Alfredo and ziti). Only downside was the croutons were a bit stale tasting but outside of that there was enough food for our party. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

Kimo K.

Yelp
Restaurant has been sold. They no longer participate in the restaurant.com program. Too bad!
google avatar

Matt T.

Yelp
Food was good, though the menu pricing and final pricing was deceptive. They include on the check a 3% surcharge to cover "credit card fees" but then on the check also say to get the 3% discount pay with cash. I get it credit card fees suck but don't put them on my food pre-tax so basically these are making a little extra doing this. Didnt feel like making it a big deal vs just making this a spot I won't go to again which sucks cas the food wasn't that bad just a dishonest owner.

Yelp
This is a true authentic Italian restaurant, family owned and operated. Very clean and spacious restaurant. They even have a bakery counter with numerous delicious looking desserts to choose from. We were promptly greeted and seated by Bonnie, who was also our server. She was so attentive and accommodating. I highly suggest asking for her to be your server. Mom had a calzone which had a picture perfect presentation. She said it was the best she had ever experienced. She also had a side salad with the most amazing Italian dressing she has ever tasted. My husband had a pizza and he said it was PERFECT. I had the manicotti with a side of sausage. MMmmm! It was simply exemplary. It had the precise amount of sauce and cheese baked on it. Oh!! And the complimentary warm focaccia bread served with balsamic and olive oil was just blissful! Before leaving Mel helped us pick out desserts to bring home. She packaged each one with care. At the end, Bonnie and Mel thanked us for coming in to have lunch. It was such a phenomenal experience that all 3 of us decided we wanted to return again soon. Thank you Bonnie and Mel for such a delightful lunch!

Yelp
The service was fabulous but the food was meh! I sat at the bar and had the boneless chicken wings. They were heavily breaded and a little salty. I've had better. It's too bad because I really want it to love this place, because Steve, the gentleman who greeted me at the door was outstanding! However, the pizza was just OK. The chicken wings were average at best! The bar was a little sticky, like it needed to be cleaned a little bit more. It felt like it had some type of a film on it, which made it a little tacky feel to the touch. I doubt that I will go back, but if you are reading this, you should probably give them a try. Maybe I'm just being too picky but I've had better food.

Joshua G.

Yelp
1st off Service was outstanding . Food was grrreat!! The vibe was right . And I will be back soon!!

Yelp
We had a group of 41 people and they had a separate room to accommodate us. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. There were 2 servers to handle our entire group; they worked hard, were pleasant and did a great job. Highly recommend.

James W.

Yelp
Food was great Pizza, Pasta, Garlic knots. Service was great also even with a full house. We also took home 4 different Cheesecake slices made that day. Great place take the whole family!

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! I was looking for something to order for dinner and this popped up on UberEats. It came quickly and was hot when it arrived. The 18" cheese pizza was really good! Was thin and floppy with a lot of flavor! The crust was the perfect texture. It is hard to find pizza this good in Arizona. I would recommend trying it. I also had the sausage, peppers, and onion Stromboli and the chicken Parmesan. The Stromboli was just okay - I felt that it was rubbery and the bread was a bit hard. However, the chicken parm was very good - cooked perfectly and the red sauce was thick and wasn't too sweet.

James M.

Yelp
The wife and I came in for the Monday pasta special for $10.99. We both had the same thing. Spaghetti with meatballs. Meatballs were $3.50 extra. The food was good, the breadsticks, not so much. My main compliant is our bill was over $64.00 I had 2 Budweiser bottles and the wife had 1 glass of house chardonnay. The beers on the menu were $5.50 The bill came and he had the beers at $7.25 each. Ok The corrected that after a bit of a wait. The bill was still over $60.00 We had to get going and i paid. Now that i think of it the bill was still way too high. You total all this up and it should be under $50 I went on their website and couldn't find anyway to contact this place.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Liars! They charge you a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. If you ask about it, they say they give you a "discount" for paying cash of charging the listed price. The only"disclaimer" on the menu is a line in tiny print saying prices subject to change. Nothing else is posted to warn you of the bogus fee. Plus if that's not bad enough the food has no flavor!!! Pizza needed salt. Garlic knots needed butter. Antipasto needed toppings. Total rip off. We really wanted to find another Italian restaurant. Olive Garden and pasta fazollis are way better!! Oh don't tell the owner that you will post a bad review. They will say that you are trespassing as you walk outside with terrible leftovers to give you dog for dinner.
google avatar

Sophie B.

Yelp
Best Italian place ever. Feels like home as soon as you walk in and staff are always friendly. I absolutely love their baked pasta dishes and can't get enough of their homemade ricotta.
google avatar

Bob T.

Yelp
Excellent Pizza, especially the NY Style! Great service dining in or take out. I recommend calling directly, instead of using Grubhub, etc. I love they have Peroni on tap! In addition tge prices are a little higher than anyone around, so that's why I have a four star. I got a salad and a 10" Pizza with Pepperoni and Extra Cheese and with tip it was almost $28.00. ‍
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
What happened to this place?! When I lived closer, we used to get take out weekly, now we are a bit further away but it's on uber eats. Today I ordered our usual, the white Spinach pizza and it was pretty gross. The cheese was too salty, made the crust soggy, and they were super tight with the ricotta. As an extra blah, they forgot my salad so I had to request a refund. I think they might have changed pizza chefs, suppliers, or something.... cause this place went from the best to off our rotation.
google avatar

Yelp
This used to be my 'Go To' pizza place. Let me start by saying the pizza is top notch. This place has tested Price Elasticity. This principle of economics measures the affect of quantity demanded to changes in price. I was a customer of this was place for around 10 years. I loved this family owned business and enjoyed supporting local businesses. Over the years, my standard order got more and more expensive. My standard order increased in price over 100% for the same thing. I started exploring my options and have founds similar pizza (not as good) but 30% cheaper. La Famiglia has Priced me out. I don't Demand this product at this Price level. All the money saved I can go explore other local establishments. Thank you.
google avatar

Jerry V.

Yelp
Wow. It's been a long time since I've been here. Had a lunch calzone and it was the bomb diggity! Crust is so light and amazing! So delicious and such a great value. Service is top notch

Alejandro C.

Yelp
Service was awful! Went to pick up a pizza and was walked over by one of the waiters to the to go area and clearly asked one of the 3 ladies standing there to help me. As I walked up to the counter, the 3 ladies walked away and so I stood there for about 10 minutes til one came out from the back to say what did I want! Unprofessional!

Olivia R.

Yelp
I have had this restaurant on my list for a while and it did not disappoint. First and foremost Steve was our server and his was incredible. Super attentive, funny, & knowledgeable about the food. The food was delicious! Definitely get the garlic knots. We also tried a slice of pizza, meat lovers Stromboli, stuffed Stromboli and black and white cookie. All were amazing! The portion sizes for a lunch were very generous. 10/10 recommend this place!

Mel G.

Yelp
We have been coming to La Famiglia for over twenty years. From their time in location on Alma School and Warner to their current location on Guadalupe between Alma School and Dobson, we have NEVER had a bad meal! Over the years we've taken family, we've taken friends...anyone new to the Valley who asks where to get good pizza and Italian food, we always tell them "LA FAMIGLIA"! The service is always great. No matter how busy they are, Bonnie, Jo Jo and the rest of the staff make sure to acknowledge you - let you know that you will be taken care of. Despite now living in the Deer Valley area, we still make the drive regularly to La Famiglia! On our visit today, taking the first bite of the cheese pizza was just like taking the first bite all those years ago. We had to sit down...oh yeah, we WERE sitting down!

Betty L.

Yelp
Will NEVER go back. the service was awful. not only were we told the three times we asked for our salad before our entree that the kitchen was "backed up" "oh I'll grab it" .. salad never came. our food came before hand. my parents then said to the server ya know what cancel the salads we wanted them before the meal like we asked you about several times. the server then proceeded to raise his voice at my parents and then treated us horribly the rest of the visit. the owner lied to my parents and stated that there's a 20% gratuity added on tables of 6+ adults (there were five of us) and a toddler. there was no such statement on the menu where she said it was. my parents paid the bill but not the gratuity which wasn't even stated anywhere in the building ... they called the cops on us. so MORAL OF THE STORY.. crap food, worse service, get yelled at for speaking up for yourself, don't pay a little spoiled underage server serving alcohol and then get called on to the cops

Mike R.

Yelp
Great New York pizza and restaurant. Would recommend this real pizza place to anyone!

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner last Friday night around 6 and got seated right away. Our server was friendly and quick. This place is a nice family restaurant. We enjoyed trying it out but will probably not be back, unless we want to try the pizza.

Sydnee P.

Yelp
My bestie & I drove from the west valley to try La Famiglia and we CERTAINLY were NOT disappointed. Jarred was absolutely amazing!! Had amazing recommendations... very personable.. made our 45 min drive absolutely worth it!! Will be talking about La Famiglia to all of my friends/family!

Terry K.

Yelp
The pizza tasted so fresh and the person I was with had the Chicken Alfredo and absolutely loved it. We will be back

Cary Q.

Yelp
Our server Sammi was excellent, and wow the strombolis were amazing. Huge portions, flaky and butter crust, just a really nice time. Good food, good service!

Yelp
Very Disappointed in the way management handled hair in the Gnocchi. Waitress claimed we must have put the hair on the food and was upset because my Daughter's Sausage tasted raw and not fully cooked. My wife was disappointed in the taste of her Ravioli red sauce. We always enjoyed Celebrating Birthdays there in the restaurant and now will most likely never go back...ever! We will go to Olive Garden from now on. My recommendation is to check your food before your fork goes into it.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
Awful. It arrived cold and barely has any cheese on it. Need I say more. I should have gone with a chain pizza place.
