"Nestled in an adorable country farmhouse since 1985, this acclaimed French fixture in Chevy Chase is known for delicacies like foie gras creme brulee, pate, and sauteed calf liver. A large fireplace, year-round porch, porcelain rooster statues, and a piano player all add touches of timeless whimsy, with an added modern-day perk of ample (free) parking. Saddle up to its casual counterpart, the Cognac bar, to order its beloved burger and draft beers in a wood-framed setting." - Tierney Plumb, Stephanie Carter

We had a wonderful family dinner here around Christmas time. This is such a charming restaurant! No, I can't eat here every day, but it's the perfect place for a special occasion. Service was professional and warm. Food was fantastic! We tried the French onion soup, lobster bisque, filet mignon, seafood pasta, seafood in pastry. All was beautiful and delicious! Highly recommend a visit here when you want to treat yourself.

Nice charming French restaurant in the heart of Chevy Chase. Good for a romantic date and for baguettes, souffles, and food overall. French onion soup was good, but I thought it was too pricy. I did not like the pate. Good service and nice ambiance rounds out the experience. However, this place is definitely for those who prefer a older feel to their ambiance, and have a deep pocket.

A little treat for date night at this long establish French restaurant. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good service, and delicious French country cooking. A little light piano music on the side. A delightful evening.

I loved Le Ferme. The atmosphere features a charming French Country design. The servers were friendly and attentive. We dined there on Mother's Day, and everything was perfect.

Google
Very nice and cozy restaurant. Very old school vibe which is amazing. Live music was great. The service was fast and good. The food was delicious and tasty. Overall really enjoyed our anniversary there and will definitely come back again. The only complain that I have is their chair! I know it looks rustic which is good but they are really old and not comfortable. I hope they change them with other rustic chairs.

Google
Wonderful atmosphere, ambiance, and food. I can't believe I didn't know about this place until now. My only complaint was the service. It seemed like most of the customers were "regulars" so they got all the attention from the waiters. Do yourself a favor and order the chocolate souffle. It was amazing. I'm normally underwhelmed by desserts, but this was absolutely delicious. It takes a while to prepare so you have to order the souffle when you order your main entree. Definitely worth it!

My son and I enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at La Ferme. The food was absolutely exquisite and delicious. The staff was kind, accommodating and gracious. It was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I hope to return often.

We have been dining at La Ferme for many years. Usually a good experience, but not tonight. We ordered the châteaubriand for 2 @ $125. It was very tough and most of it was not edible. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay and it was served at room temperature. I asked them to put it on Ice and they did but it was on the other side of the room. I finally asked them to bring it over to our table because our waiter never came to refill our glasses. I also had to get up from the table myself and secure a water. pitcher because no one came to refill our water glasses. Our waiter had no personality so was not part of our dining experience. We were celebrating my 76th birthday and we probably should have just cooked a steak at home. After so many years of dining at that restaurant, I probably will not go back.

Yelp
Just a lovely place to celebrate our anniversary. Beautiful old house with quaint French country decor on the inside. We ordered the skirt steak (specials menu) and filet mignon (regular menu). Both pieces of meat came out to perfection. My filet mignon had the perfect pink and juices. I don't believe I've had a better piece of meat anywhere else. We added the potato gratin and it was creamy and delicious. For dessert, we got the praline and Grand Marnier souffles. I have never had souffle before so had to try it since it was supposedly, "The best dessert in town!" Our server informed us that we needed to order this at the beginning of our meal since it takes 45 minutes to prepare. Though I conclude that souffles are probably not what I expected, my partner enjoyed it and finished mine as well! Service was excellent and attentive. Just a wonderful dining experience. Parking: Easy on a weeknight. Spaces are a little tight.

Yelp
Have been going to this restaurant since it opened in 1985. It was 5 stars when it opened and has maintained the same quality ever since. It is a special occasion place for me but for many of my friends it is their regular go to place to hang out and have a spectacular meal. Sophisticated but not stuffy, very welcoming, a true delight in décor, hospitality and food excellence. You will never be disappointed in a meal here.

Yelp
Excellent traditional French bistro food with a wide menu and charming, yet old-school setting, with mainly septuagenarian clientele. Service was attentive, but didn't seem the strongest, as all our dishes kept being brought to the wrong customer, I had to place my order three times before the waiter got my order right, and in the end, I'm pretty sure I got the wrong wine (not a Sauvignon and an awful Riesling or something else). Here's what I tried and enjoyed: -- French onion soup: well-executed, traditional presentation with a significant stringy cheesy cap, sweet caramelized onions, and soaked baguette slices -- Heirloom tomato salad with aged balsamic: fresh, balanced, perfect for spring or a hot summer's day -- Veal calf liver: super tender, really perfectly seared, though I did find the ratatouille and green beans and mashed potatoes on the side to be a little lacking in seasoning -- Softshell crab special: super flavorful and tender, a real treat --Hazelnut souffle: traditional souffle that needs to be ordered at the start of a meal, and easily shareable between two or more We'll be back, though I will say that the decor made me feel a bit like I was in the "It's a small world" Disney ride.

Yelp
What a special anniversary dinner we had at La Ferme! The food was delicious, as always, the server was absolutely kind and patient! While the portions are small, they are delectable. We had gravlax, foie gras, seafood risotto, and Truite Amandine. A lovely glass of Pinot Noir, For dessert, one of their special soufflés, (chocolate!) and a creme brulée to die for!! Special touches were greatly appreciated, notably the "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate on each dessert plate. What a special night!

Yelp
Thanksgiving dinner was a great treat this year for me at Le Ferme. 3 course dinner was excellent. Great tasting and plentiful. the service too was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful Holiday memory.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place gets bad reviews. Reading them almost made us change our reservations and I can tell you that would have been a mistake. First off, our waitress was a lovely young lady with a ton of patience (my in laws asked a lot of questions). She was helpful in navigating the menu, specials and drinks. Second, the food - wow. Tasted homemade. There wasn't anything we ordered we didn't like. Everything was tasty, including the warm bread that kept coming out. Pro tip: book dinner resy's early. This seems to be a neighborhood spot, we got there at 5:25. By 7pm is was packed! The liver and lobster ravioli are spectacular... and yes, order the soufflé at the start of the meal. Can't wait to go back!

Andrea C.

Yelp
The menu is rather limited in my opinion. OK place, especially for a local joint. It's worth trying though.

Yelp
Went to celebrate a professional win. The ambience is very cozy, not quite a house since it had a fairly open floor plan, but welcoming all the same. The parking was free, a nice treat compared to DC and Bethesda. Split a few courses: sea bass, soufflé, scallop appetizer. All were fantastic eats. The most memorable is the soufflé; repeated scraping of the ramekin good! And the brussel sprouts, a surprising treatment of the vegetable. Thinly sliced for maximum crunch but still more heft than thin leaves.

Stuart M.

Yelp
The setting is beautiful. The service is great. Our appetizer was the endive salad. A great way to start the meal. It has so many elements. The crisp bitter endive. The savory blue cheese. Crunch from walnuts and sweetness of apple. Our first entree was trout almandine. Perfectly cooked trout with a side of green beans. The second entrée was filet mignon in a brown sauce. Great flavors again, but one star off for some tough portions that were too hard to chew. Fries and green beans as sides. The chocolate soufflé for dessert was scrumptious. All in all a great night out enjoying classic French cuisine.

Yelp
Very nice decor (very French, complete with a giant rooster), balcony seating, big cozy fireplace, good food, limited menu choices, inattentive, slacking service, huge on-site parking lot. Unique architecture and venue but a bit overpriced (even by Chevy Chase standards). We came here on Valentine's Day, and with the prices they were charging, we were expecting better service. We had a reservation and arrived on time. We were quickly seated. We were lucky to get a table in the corner which is quieter. Tables under the big roof would be much noisier. We ordered cocktails and our main dishes: sea scallops (tiny scallops, contrary to our expectations, but nicely presented) and the other dish is lobster salad. Both were delicious and came relatively promptly. Fresh bread was presented as well. However, we waited for an hour for the dessert despite prodding our waitress multiple times. What a let down. They clearly forgot to place our order or forgot to tell the kitchen we were done with our main course. Either way someone dropped the ball somewhere in the chain of command. It was nearly impossible to get the attention of, or wave down, our waitress. We were expecting a culinary event on the special occasion, and yet in the end I can't say it's worth coming all the way out here for the French experience. (Toilet was clean and decorated; see my photos) L'Auberge Chez Francois at Great Falls, VA, is a much better bet if you want a French dining experience.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to come for a nice celebration. I've been for a friend's bday, retirement party, and Thanksgiving... and now my Mom's bday! It has this homey feel but with a nice elegant touch. The service is wonderful and you won't even notice your water or coffee glass is already refilled! We went for brunch and it was a great 3 course meal. I enjoyed the potato and leek soup and my mom had the French onion soup. For the next course, I had the frittata with , red pepper and steak with a side of greens beans and hash browns! My mom had the chicken and spinach crepe. We both really enjoyed our dishes! Greens beans aren't my favorite vegetable, but these were cooked nicely! For dessert, my mom had sorbet and I had the crepe with hazelnut and caramel sauce with a dusting of powdered sugar! Omg. Yumm... melted in my mouth. My mom even ate some!! They surprised my mom with berries and cream for her birthday. It was so refreshing and delicious! I will be back. :)

Yelp
La Ferme is a unique restaurant with a special ambiance, great food, and excellent service. I've been several times for both lunch and dinner and have always enjoyed it. We arrived on Saturday night for our 7:30 reservation and the restaurant was buzzing with seemingly longstanding, well-dressed patrons. We were promptly greeted, seated, served bread and offered wine recommendations. The Sancerre was the best I've tasted! A few of us placed similar orders of endive salad, French onion soup, trout almandine and finished with grand marnier and praline soufflés which were ordered early for preparation time. We all agreed that the trout almandine was the best of three highly renowned and popular French restaurants in the area. La Ferme is always a pleasurable and highly satisfying dining experience!

Yelp
I went here with my parents and wife for brunch. I enjoyed the food. My only complaint is that service was slow. Be prepared for brunch to take 2+ hours on a Sunday. I wish it had been faster, but the food was good to the point where I wasn't upset about it. The restaurant itself is well decorated, including fresh flowers on the table. I enjoyed the ambiance. Now the food. The stars of this meal were the snail fricasse and the quiche. These were both delicious. The quiche was light and flavorful. Also good was the onion soup. Of the omelettes, I preferred the landais. The wild mushroom omelette was also good. For dessert, we shared Mixed Sorbets Served in a Tulipe. This was also good.

Nastassia W.

Yelp
The service was embarrassingly terrible and the food was just fine. It's cute inside and the front of house staff were ok but our server was the worst I've had in ages. Never brought us a drink menu, including when he finally asked what we wanted to drink 20 minutes after we were seated. We just guessed at the cocktails and wine they had. He didn't offer a menu or suggestions. He made us order everything at the same time we ordered our drinks (apps and main and tried to get us to order dessert). When he dropped off the food he didn't ask if we wanted another drink (we did). He never came back to see if we liked the food. We asked for a soufflé when he brought the main course because he said we had to because it takes a long time to cook (and then he came back 15 minutes later because he forgot what kind I ordered). When he dropped the soufflé (mediocre, btw) we had to tell him we wanted another dessert and coffee. The crème brûlée was cold (obviously not prepared for us) and the coffee never came. Oh and he double charged us for the wine, so after we left he called to fix it and we had to drive back for the refund. While waiting for my refund the hostess finally asked how dinner was and I told her it was terrible. She said "sometimes we as women are afraid to speak up" but that I should have gotten out of my seat and complained. Give me a break. I don't know how this place has such good reviews. The food was mediocre and tastes like the menu hasn't changed since it opened almost 40 years ago. Thanks for the free anniversary champagne but we were so over it by then (champagne came at the very end, after dessert) that we didn't even finish it. Waste of $300 honestly.

Yelp
What a great meal. Came with my parents and grandfather for my dad's retirement dinner. Parking was so easy, there's a big lot behind the restaurant that still had multiple open spaces!! They start out with bread for the table which was so good, chewy, and warm. My mom and I had to stop eating it or else we would've ruined our meal! We got two of the same appetizers, I'm not sure exactly what it was but I think it was called La Terrine de Gibier, the photo with the slaw and cut bread with a cut of meat on the middle. I typically don't like these types of dishes but this was very very good. For entrees, I got the almond crusted trout and switched the potatoes for rice, it was delicious, however the fish a a tad bit over cooked. I still ate the whole thing though!!! My parents split the filet mignon, pictured on the tray and another on a plate. The meat was done perfectly, my dad gave me a few bites, but he and my mom loved it. My grandpa got the calf's liver, he really enjoyed it and loved the mash potatoes with it. Personally not a fan of animal organs but he loved it, it's one of his faves. For dessert we all got our own, I got the poached pear and it was absolutely ICONIC. BEST dessert I've had at a restaurant in ages!! It was so so good, light but creamy and decadent. My grandpa got the sorbet and loved it, I had a little bite of the raspberry scoop and it was so tart and yummy. My mom got the profiteroles which were yummy but she liked mine dessert more. And my father got the chocolate mousse cake, he absolutely devoured it. The service was great. We had our reservation at 6 and left around 8:30-8:45. He was attentive and kind, and our other servers were awesome. Very attentive to take our finished dishes and made sure our water (mainly my water) was always full. The vibes were nice. It was giving cottage core, warm and welcoming. A lot of seating for many people and they dim the lights around 7ish so for those with iffy eye sight be aware of that! Overall, recommend!

Brenda O.

Yelp
Really enjoyed a great brunch. So much so, that my friend and I intend to return for dinner at a later date.

Cathy Z.

Yelp
I have to admit I am usually not a huge fan of French food. Any cuisine that needs to rely so heavily on butter and doesn't really use seasonings doesn't really appeal to me. That being said, I had a great experience at La Ferme. Our server Jacquelyn (not sure if I spelled that right) was so sweet and made us feel so comfortable. There are no vegan entrees so she offered to make me a plate of vegetables for my meal. The ambiance is really beautiful and serene. There was even live piano music! I don't really like to order gazpacho at restaurants anymore because I have had some nasty, sweet gazpachos. But the gazpacho here was great with the perfect amount of light spice. If you'd like to have a souffle for dessert, you have to order it at the beginning of your meal so that they can prepare. Unfortunately, one of the 4 souffles we ordered fell, but they were really nice about it. I had the assortment of sorbets which was the perfect ending to my meal. I especially enjoyed the kiwi and coconut sorbets which were a little more unique than the standby mango and raspberry. The wine selection is fantastic and we really enjoyed the champagne and chablis we ordered. Overall, the food is maybe not my #1 preference, but the excellent service and ambiance make this a restaurant I would return to.

Mari B.

Yelp
First time we came here we liked it. Last night was poor. Lobster bisque, muddy and dark and no taste of lobster and almost no lobster pieces. Crab salad mixed with sauce that made it taste awful. Lobster pasta with very little lobster and that same muddy lobster bisque as sauce. Scallop appetizer for $20 had ONE medium size scallop. One. Seriously? A delicious scallop, but ONE for $20? With risotto. Filet was pretty good. Souffle was okay but had almond slices inside, which ruined the texture. $200 for a very subpar, stingy meal. Will not come back.

T B.

Yelp
Excellent service, delicious food and a warm setting. Look forward to the fireplace in fall and winter

Emily S.

Yelp
Had an exquisite anniversary dinner here. The warmth and hospitality of this restaurant allowed me to forget how rainy and dreary it was outside. My eyes were drawn to the butternut squash risotto with seafood (scallops, shrimp, and lobster) and it did not disappoint! I also tried my husband's strip steak and it was tender and flavorful. We didn't end up ordering dessert but they still came by with a whipped cream & strawberry thing which was a nice touch. Definitely want to come back again!

Alice 0.

Yelp
Delicious food, beautiful restaurant and top notch service! We will always come back!

Erin P.

Yelp
Stopped by for brunch (we made a reservation but they had plenty of tables open for walk-ins). For brunch, they offer a 3 course $31 pre-fixe, with an option to choose a brunch cocktail (bloody, mimosa, champagne) in lieu of the dessert course. I had the soup of the day (gazpacho with avocado) and it was so delicious. Just the right portion and very flavorful. My dining companion had the yogurt parfait which was HUGE and delicious. For our main, we chose the Omelette Landaise (vegetarian with onions, peppers, pesto, and got cheese) and the Pain Perdue (which is French toast). Both were large portions, well made, and delicious. The rosti potato slice that came with the omelette was rather greasy and a bit cold, but I was full from the omelette! Service is great and the staff is lovely and attentive. The setting is also gorgeous, tucked away in a neighborhood with plenty of trees and flowers. The patio is enclosed and sunny while the dining room is cozy and filled with wooden accent. Looking forward to coming back for dinner at some point.

Yelp
What a nice place. Great food and service in a beautiful atmosphere. My wife usually isn't anxious to return to any restaurant soon after we visit, but La Ferme is an exception. Started with a French onion soup and an endive salad. Both amazingly good. I had the salmon and my wife had the liver. She said it was the best liver she's ever had. The salmon was perfectly cooked and so good. Dessert was a souffle and a piece of the chocolate and Grand Marnier mousse cake. we ordered dessert when we ordered our entrees since the souffles take time to make. Both excellent. I can't recommend La Ferme enough.

Anthony H.

Yelp
Such an amazing beautiful place to enjoy French style dining. Decorated like an old European cottage, the building itself has as much character as the menu. Be sure to make reservations because this restaurant is very popular in the area for fine dining. It is always a great experience at La Ferme. Their French style dishes will make anyone who has been, and eaten in France miss the little restaurants and cafes that line the picturesque streets of Paris. Occasionally, they have a pianist serenading the customers, which really adds to the mood of the evening. Plenty of wonderful French wines to choose from. The dinner specials are always worth a peek as well. I cannot stress enough how amazing of a restaurant this place is, especially if you are looking to have a romantic dinner with a loved one. Do yourself a favor, and treat yourself to a fantastic French dining experience on the farm (La Ferme). You will not be disappointed.

Paul P.

Yelp
Not handicap accessible with tricky entrance, interior steps and narrow space around tables. Quite loud and no quiet areas though such was offered on phone. Owners response to complaint: " Your experience was not a pleasant one but you should know that dealing with grumpy guests who think they should blame the rest of the world for their growing misery and who are convinced that the world runs around them make your experience an unpleasant one too. " Parking difficult if crowded with no convenient alternatives. Food good except the bread. Service good through main courses and then a long wait for coffee and the bill. An old, grumpy guest.

Donna B.

Yelp
Everything was sterling! The atmosphere, service and food were all the best one could imagine. On a snowy night we figured not many people would be there. It was not quite to capacity, but quite busy and that was mid-week. This was our second time there; the fireplace was roaring. One felt as if one was in a large French country home. All are accommodating and service oriented. The food is exemplary. I have had their delicate oyster stew with bacon - sublime, the venison and boar are wonderful, the pheasant and trout were incredible. Everything is fresh and one can be accommodated for food sensitivities easily. Cannot wait to go back. It is a special place.

Alex B.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, great food, try the Soufflé! Great location for a Christmas weekend family dinner

Brett M.

Yelp
The ambiance is and always has been wonderful. The piano player is a nice touch. Service was ok, probably because the restaurant was full and the wait staff were seemingly running. The food, however, was disappointing. The tuna was overcooked, the broth for the mussels was very salty, the Soufflé which is their specialty and requires pre ordering, came out as soup. Very under cooked. Which is all very disappointing given the pricing of the restaurant. Expensive for less than average food, at least on this occassion.

Billy S.

Yelp
A hidden French gem in the heart of Chevy Chase and all its residences . Since 1984 . I love going there to escape and find myself back in France. The food, the staff, the ambiance. I simply love the restaurant .

Shirley D.

Yelp
What a great dining experience! Located in the Chevy Chase villages, the restaurant blends in well with the neighborhood. Service was excellent and the Chef visited our table to answer our questions about the food. Ordered the Le Filet de Boeuf au Poivre (Filet Mignon au poirve served with Parmesan-truffle fries). The sauce was buttery and creamy! If you're into fine French cuisine, this is a must-try.

Anon E. M.

Yelp
My wife and I started to come here on special occasions in the past few years. I say special occasions because it's easy to spend a total of $100-$200 for a full dinner here for two. But when one wants top service, it's worth it. We like to dress up to go out for dinner, but given nearly every restaurant is casual these days, it's hard to find a place where you can wear a jacket or tie, or both, and not feel out of place (no worry given the bougie clientele in this area). It's usually the French restaurants that provide great service, but La Ferme is one of the better, if not the best, ones in the area. It's hard to find a good place that properly sets a table with salad forks and butter knives, still uses white table cloths, folded cloth napkins, knows the difference between water and wine glasses, and serves bread. We were greeted at the door by the restaurant owner, who checked our reservations and took our coats; there was a pianist playing softly in the background, and we had fresh flowers at the table. As for the food... Every time, I'm slightly disappointed by the small portions. But my mind changes when I bite into the food. They really believe in quality over quantity. Nothing is ever too sweet tasting or too fatty. Compliments to the chef! After eating our appetizers, main courses, and deserts, we are always grateful for not having eaten more; so the portions end up being just right. I love their salads, salmon, chicken, and chocolate soufflé. They are generous with the alcohol, unlike so many restaurants. Only minor issues that I can think of, like the location is hard to find without using the GPS, but that's not something they can fix. I'm a little intrigued by why it seems 90% of the workers are men, not that it really matters much. Ground floor seating isn't too crowded, though I got seated next to a busy intersection. As others also noted on here, they were slow and I regretfully had to flag the waiter down at one point, but the waiter explained to us that they were having computer issues. Being out on a date night, and enjoying the food, we didn't mind that it took a little longer than normal.

Carol H.

Yelp
Four of us dined at La Ferme last week and loved the entire experience. The place is lovely and the food was first rate. Our server was helpful and very experienced. In addition to some lovely wine, we capped off the experience with a baked souffle that we all shared. In sum, terrific ambiance and delicious food. Highly recommend!

Yelp
La Ferme is a historic gem. Located in the heart of Chevy Chase, MD, it is off the beaten path of the D.C. restaurant scene. In earlier days it was called Brook Farm Tea House (the remnant of a 600-acre estate first deeded in 1780 to Charles Carroll), and Eleanor Roosevelt lunched there with Congressional wives. It later became the Brook Farm Inn of Magic and hosted entertainment performances. It went through several restaurant iterations over the years before La Ferme opened in 1985 under the leadership of Chef Alain Roussel who had before worked in the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. Nancy Reagan used to frequent it for lunch. The food is classic French cuisine done to perfection. Fantastic ambiance with a piano player on the weekends and a roaring fire during the winter. A perfect place for special occasions. They have opened a bar area which is a popular gathering spot for neighborhood residents. They are so lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant close by!

Gina S.

Yelp
I really want to love this place, the ambience is amazing. Pros Parking is plenty Nice outdoor patio Presentation of food Cons I felt the waiter pressured us into an appetizer and I wanted dessert not an appetizer. The fish was a bit dry. The dessert was nothing special. This is the second time I've eaten there and each time I've felt nauseous afterwards so unfortunately I won't be going back.

Scott R.

Yelp
Sunday Brunch - a very good deal. 3 course meal - can be light or almost a full dinner with wide selection options. Party of 3; everything we had was good. Mussels as an first course a real standout. Nice atmosphere - feels like a neighborhood institution - though if you're under say 50, you might have to sit at the children's table. Seriously though, it is an older crowd. Ample parking. 'Tucked away' feel. Visually interesting decor. Slightly bumpy service day we lunched, but they had just gotten a wave of diners, so a minor hiccough. Solid experience, will return.

Classless, rude bar staff - they give locals special treatment and ignore everyone else. There are too many other great places nearby that have fabulous drinks and cuisine as well as good service. I'll give it 2 stars for having a cozy atmosphere and ample parking.

Yelp
We have dined at La Ferme for years. Today (Mother's Day) was a disappointment. My sirloin steak was stringy and less trimmed of fat than usual. An iced-tea refill brought back a glass of room-temperature tea with no ice. The desert order, three "warm chocolate-walnut brownies," resulted in some strawberry concoction instead. When the replacement deserts arrived, the brownies were not warm. Our waiter was probably a holiday fill-in. Each of the complaints may be minor by themselves but collectively they were numerous enough to cause me to consider other dining venues in the future.

Yelp
Good food, wine, and atmosphere. Celebrated my birthday on November 11 this past Friday. However, I was charged double for my bill by the restuarant and had to call my bank to resolve the issue.

Yelp
First impression. #1 Restaurant. Sweet and love environment. Someone really cares about Customers- lovely place..Not your standard Sitdown meal....This goes beyond that. This is not beer taco to go- This is A truly Family Dinner setting. Do not complaint, if you do, means you do not appreciate what others do for you,,,oh yes- Love the Live Music..!!!!

Yelp
My family have been going to La Ferme ever since we moved into the area. It's a great place to go for special occasions or just a fancy dinner. Not just the service is great, the food too. Their meet is delicious as well as multiple other meals on their menu. Very Recommended.

Yelp
Had my sisters bridal shower there this weekend and I'm really glad my sister decided to go with La Ferme. The restaurant is located in Chevy Chase, MD and has plenty of parking. We had about 35 guests and all of them were able to park at the restaurant. The manager Prakash was extremely helpful. I had a decorator come into do the backdrop and he really went out of his way to redecorate the hall. We had to cover the fire place, I was kind of bummed about it at first but oh well. For appetizers we had a choice of smoked salmon, fruits or French onion soup. Lunch: French toast, Salmon, chicken Dessert: ice cream, chocolate cake, waffles We had about 35 guests and every single one of them loved everything on the menu. I personally had fruits for starters and they were fresh and tasty. Salmon for lunch and omg it was so delicious, definitely have it. I had the chocolate cake for dessert and that wasn't really good. If you are looking to host an event I would highly recommend La Ferme. Everything is perfect the food, the customer service and they are reasonable.

Yelp
Fabulous food in an iconic setting. French country decor enhances your dining experience. Always love sitting near the fireplace in winter and the sunny lanai is a treat in summer. Traditional French fare is well prepared and presented. Groups can reserve a lovely alcove or upstairs dining room for private parties. Transport yourself to Paris as you enjoy a very special experience.

Yelp
Super friendly staff and really unique space. Appetizers were great, the mains were forgettable.

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed excellent service. tonight however was an unpleasant exception. two of us were meeting family for a party of five at 4 pm on thanksgiving. my sister and I were late but the rest of the party arrived on time. when we finally got there(cab trouble, we are usually 15 mins early wherever we go) the manager tried to give us a lecture about being late. my sister blew him off. i did not, I listened to his concerns until he angrily informed me he didn't need to listen "to shit" from others in my party. yes that is an exact quote. I told him I had heard his concerns and didn't need "shit" from him. on the way out I asked for an apology only to be berated further by this poor excuse for a customer facing representative of the restaurant. he continued to threaten me and told me multiple times to "go back where I came from". I am appalled. I know this was a busy day and I'm sure he was very stressed but that is NO excuse for speaking to a customer this way, especially when I was trying to be sensitive to his concerns. la Ferme, post what you will in response but this guy seriously needs a time out. or fired. pick one.

Yelp
I came here to celebrate my birthday but my sever(Asian guy)made me have a bad day. I have been sitting for 20 minute to take my order after that my server never came back to check back our table. Never ask for something else. The food is good but I will never come back. PS. My check was $150 but I still gave him $30.

Yelp
On Thanksgiving Day, we found ourselves in a predicament after losing track of time while visiting a friend and needed to find a restaurant that was still open. Our search led us to La Ferme, where we were initially informed by a kind staff member that the kitchen was already closed. Just as we were about to leave, the same staff member approached us with an unexpected offer to provide us with a take-out meal, despite the kitchen being closed. We were traveling with kids, and this offer was not just about providing a meal, but ensuring our family could still enjoy a nice holiday. This thoughtfulness was truly touching. We accepted the generous offer and were treated to a delicious meal that added to the joy of our holiday. We are immensely grateful to the kind individual at La Ferme. Their gesture turned our day around and made it one to remember. Our experience at La Ferme was beyond exceptional. It was not just about the food, but the warmth and kindness that truly embodied the spirit of Thanksgiving. We highly recommend La Ferme for not just their delicious food, but also their exceptional service and hospitality.
