Our trip in San Antonio was coming to an end, and this was where my friend and I had our last meal before flying home the next day. It was a lovely restaurant, the food was great, and the music in the background was quite nice. I'd like to thank this establishment for serving my friend and me a good final meal in San Antonio.

Google
I had the pleasure of enjoying a solo dinner at this outstanding restaurant. Dominicko was exceptionally professional and made the entire evening truly enjoyable. The food was phenomenal, and the ambiance—enhanced by the tasteful Italian-inspired decor and architecture—added to the overall experience. I absolutely love this place and look forward to returning.

Google
La Focaccia was good to us. We had their bread with olive oil (complementary). I ordered the lasagna, which I could not finish because it was a large portion. It was delicious. We also ordered pizza which and that was delicious too. Overall pleased.

Google
We had a private party of 75 people and they gladly accommodated all of us without an issue. Food was great as always and staff extremely friendly with everyone. I recommend it to anyone who likes Italian food and drinks.

It’s awesome when a family owned business is excelling. Once you enter the establishment you can tell it gives off cozy, old school Italian restaurant vibes. Waiters/waitresses are also dressed according to the theme and their service is equally impressive. Italian cuisine is expansive with a rich history; so it’s important to get the taste right. This restaurant achieves this without any issues. Appetizers, Entrees, desserts, everything tasted wonderful.

Google
A new favorite Italian restaurant. Everything is fresh and well seasoned. We look forward to trying more items on the menu.

Google
Really enjoyed my time here. The food was fantastic, though the atmosphere suffered with the fluctuation of the music from a quiet tune to very loud. This place has little parking and the outside does not do it justice. Give it a shot. I know I will enjoy it again. I suggest the creme brulee.

My fiance and I go there all the time and it NEVER Fails. Everything in this place is absolutely delicious, best Italian place in SA. The service is always great. We love Lee 💛

Yelp
Let me start with saying....I grew up in the Philly suburbs with lots of authentic Italian food. I've lived down here in San Antonio for almost 4 years now. It was my first trip to La Foccacia. The service was great. The entrees my wife and I had were great. Although her crab had sand in them from not being properly cleaned and her dish had an un-opened muscle which any chef will tell you means it's dead and you should t serve it. I do, so want to give this place a 5 star review for flavors alone but the dark and dingy environment and terrible wine selection just hold me back. It's like a restaurant that's doing well....bit also two months from being on Hells Kitchen and in desperate need of a physical makeover. Not the kitchen...just the ambiance

Yelp
Great food, great service and great atmosphere! We each had a different special and the pasta and seafood in general were very fresh and very tasty. Our friends had the veal and pasta dish and it blew them away also. Great place and not too crowded. Thnx!

Yelp
Wonderful Italian food! Beef lasagna and grilled banana nut bread were excellent - definitely save room for dessert or get it to go.

Yelp
The hostess act as if I did not exist . Very rude to be the face of the restaurant . BLACK people stay away !!!!!!!

Yelp
La Focaccia's food, atmosphere and friendly staff made our experience in San Antonio's old King William neighborhood a home run. We were visiting from Denver and decided to take a break from Fiesta and River Walk. Best decision ever!!! The linguini with white clam sauce was chock full of plump clams and so flavorful that I sopped up every last drop with the bread. My husband's shrimp in marinara was a treat. Our sweet server, Josephina, was sooo careful to get our orders right. And then we struck up a conversation with a couple of Focaccia's long time customers who'd come into celebrate a birthday. Then the owner joined us! The whole experience was a delight. I'd come on a date or I'd bring the family. The place isn't glamorous, but a trip to Focaccia is like a trip to your favorite Italian restaurant where everyone knows you and is genuinely glad you stopped in.

Yelp
I have to give La Focaccia an all around 5 Raviolis! An honest mistake was made with our reservation, however the staff went out of their way to accommodate our party of 15. From the Manager to the waiter staff, we were shown respect, compassion and provided top notch service. Our orders consisted of Spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs, Fettuccine, Chicken Alfredo, Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Marsala and Chicken w Lemon Butter Sauce, all dishes were superb! The restaurant's atmosphere was quaint and relaxing, and not once did we feel rushed to finish our meals, or encouraged to leave once we were done. A heartfelt gratitude to these amazing individuals! Thank you , Thank you , Thank you for making my husband's Birthday Dinner an enjoyable success.

Yelp
We were downtown for Fiesta and decided to dine before going. We hadn't been to La Focaccia in years as we live in N. San Antonio, needless to say we WILL make the commute. Everything was a 15 stars out of 10! We had the Chicken Alfredo, Napoleon Salad, complimentary Focaccia bread and all were phenomenal. Our waiter Lee was the best and gave us excellent service. The dining room is classic Italian, reminded us of Tuscany. Take the time, take the drive, it is well worth it.

Yelp
To begin parking is a nightmare, you have to park on the street and there is virtually little to no street lighting. Very disappointing. Party of four for dinner. First the complimentary focaccia bread was cold, cracker thin and tasteless. Though they have a wide variety of wines, you were limited to only the house wine because they didn't have any other whites chilled. The toasted beef ravioli appetizer was cold, toasted too hard and had no seasoning. We had three different entrees; Penne alla Sicilians was warm at best and the pasta was lumped together, served with too little sauce to add flavor and the cheese was square slices of cheese that looked and tasted like it was kraft singles. I didn't dare ask my guest that had the Linguine with Clams and the Chicken La Focaccia how their meal tasted, but neither finished the meal nor asked to take the leftovers home. We all passed on dessert. Will not return and cannot recommend

Yelp
This is a great Italian restaurant! I feel like it's a hidden gem... we had the mussels and they were delicious! The sauce was great and the garlic bread was nice and toasty! If I lived here I would come back with my family! We are foodies and love good food and great vibes!

Yelp
I have past by this restaurant many times throughout the years but never tried it until yesterday. My friends and I decided to have lunch at La Focaccia. As you walk in you are transported back in time with the decor and ambiance. It was pleasant. The complimentary flatbread and dipping oil was not expected but we enjoyed it more than bread from other places. Our group enjoyed a pepperoni calzone, pepperoni and spinach pizza, and chicken fettuccine. Each item had a beautiful presentation. My friends LOVED the calzone and pizza. They were both quite big, so they took the uneaten portions home. I had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The chicken and fettuccine were both cooked properly. The Alfredo sauce was not like anything I ever tasted. It had a more butterly and chicken stock taste. It was not the Alfredo sauce I was used to, but it was delicious. For dessert we shared (I should say demolished ) one slide of tiramisu. It was a little piece of heaven. Our waiter was very attentive and genuine. Our glasses were never empty and the experience is one we will repeat in the future.

Yelp
What a weird experience it was coming here. We felt so uncomfortable we didn't even stay to eat. As soon as we walk up to the door, we almost hit the host since she was awkwardly standing at the door just starring out at us. As soon as we walk in, she doesn't even look up at us, just awkwardly grabs menus and starts walking us to the table with no eye contact whatsoever. The place smelled weird and looked very dirty. Our appetite quickly disappeared and we just decided it would be best to leave before we attempted to give this place a try.

Yelp
Delicious, authentic Italian food in San Antonio, Texas! And obviously I'm one of the last people to know. When I got to La focaccia Italian Grill, the place was already filled with patrons. Everyone mid meal, sipping on red wine and enjoying their entrées. That was a huge reassurance for me. The wait staff was super helpful and nice. We were seated quickly. Inside they have booths and a wide open floor plan dining room. A gorgeous chandelier, right in the middle, setting the ambience of romance. It seems like a great place to go as a family and have a nice family style dining experience and also go for a romantic first date. I had the five layer lasagna and it was delicious. It was robust in flavor, cheesy and everything you would expect from a traditional lasagna. I also enjoyed their homemade in-house focaccia bread. I paired it with olive oil, seasonings and vinaigrette, and also sprinkled some Parmesan. At that point, I practically made my own little pizza. It was really good. my sister had the seafood stuffed cannoli and I didn't taste it but she seemed to enjoy it. The caesar salad was crispy and tossed and ample dressing. Very delicious. When I'm back in San Antonio, I would come back.

Yelp
The most bizarre experience I've ever had. The hostess refused to interact with me, it was weird. I had to ask her for a table.... The waitress was sweet but stressed and out of sorts, wine options limited. I ordered off the menu and she was confused by the clam linguine, took that as an air to read other reviews and was shocked, consistent bad reviews on the hostess, food and sanitation. Cockroaches and food poisoning. Promptly went to Battalion down the street which restored my faith in humanity. Do not go here unless dining with mortal enemies.

Yelp
This was a very pleasant surprise. The food was amazing and fairly proportioned. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was nothing but delicious. And all of our main courses were just as amazing. The restaurant itself was quiet with soft music in the background, but we also went at an earlier time. It wasn't too small either...perfect size for an intimate meal. And the waiters were very nice and welcoming. They started you off with water and you could order any other drink if you wanted to. And the food came out at a decent time. Even at the end of the meal, if you wanted to take leftovers, the waiter would pack up your food for you. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you want something small and exquisite.

Yelp
Very unique spot. Food was okay. Service could have been better. Not busy for a Sunday at 5 pm. Waitress Dolores seemed uninterested in asking how the food was and if we needed anything. Would totally come back though, hoping to get better service.

Yelp
Found this restaurant for date night and I was feening for Italian and seafood- this was great! We were greeted, by an elder man- may be the owner, however he was very polite and informed us that a few people called out and it will be a little bit of a wait. After maybe 15min of waiting- the server and service was great! Great food, small but warm establishment, and for the lack of servers that weren't available, we received our meals and drinks in a timely manner. Definitely going back to try the other dishes!

Yelp
free bread with oil was 10/10 cheesesticks 8/10 riesling wine 10/10 pesto tortellini 8/10 - wish it was more garlic-y but then again i like a lot of garlic Server was super nice and checked on out frequently! Love the vibes of the restaurant, perfect for a family dinner

Yelp
All I can say is this place is dying a long, slow death. Food is wayyy the hell overpriced. It doesn't come with a salad and the tea is $3.95. Get real! That's insane! There is no way in hell this place should still be in business. Just like their chicken which is tough, this place expired years ago!
google avatar

Miles D.

Yelp
Walked in to the restaurant and immediately was greeted by the odor of couch dust and dog poop. When we sat down we were told there they don't serve sweet tea. After a little while I had to drop one In the toilet. There was a roach. The roach got uncomfortably close to my butt hole. I killed it. Along with my terrible restroom experience there was little lighting in the stall so it's hard to see if there is a poop stain on the toilet paper. When the food came they brought tomato sauce pasta instead of the butter lemon we asked for. My grandma is allergic to tomatoes . What if I brought a allergen to her home. And on top of all that, they charge an extra fee if you pay card. They had to take away our dying currency. At what cost.

Yelp
Both my boyfriend and I got sick from this place. Horrible experience from the staff to the food. I would not recommend this place at all. The food was below average. I read in the other reviews people have gotten sick from here. Stay away

Julie V.

Yelp
Food was not bad but it was not good. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo and my husband ordered lasagna. The food was not cold but not hot. The place was dead so there was no reason for food to be cold. I may return but most likely I will not.
google avatar

Alyssa P.

Yelp
Bread and oil were great, wine list is excellent, service was also great. Our server was very attentive. I really liked this place but I got terribly sick off the oysters. Also spotted three roaches.

Yelp
It was our first time and we absolutely loved it! Our server Dolores was a true gem. We ordered the Veal Scaloppine Piccata at her recommendation and it was delicious. All the food was! It's definitely going to be one of our regular spots and we plan to bring our family next time! We loved the ambiance as well.

James N.

Yelp
The restaurant is great. The owner is almost always on site. His father started as I understand it Luigi's Italian restaurant shortly after they moved here from Rome for Hemisfair thank goodness they stayed! the signature bread., Focaccia, is the best I've ever had and it comes with every meal. The veal is excellent as are the pasta dishes all very good The pizzas are excellent cooked in a wood heated if brick oven.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance were great! It isn't exactly a place for younger kids but it is a great place for a date night. There is 4% added if you use card. Overall we were happy and would definitely recommend it.

Yelp
Do not order online until they work this out. The ordering uses SliceLife and it was a nightmare. After ordering online, we ended up having to re-order in person and paying again. Hopefully SliceLife will refund the money they debited. We picked up our food and we were pretty pissed off. La Foccacia REDEEMED THEMSELVES WITH EXCEPTIONAL FOOD, in spite of being short staffed. We've been going there for years and feared it had taken a turn for the worse--not so. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Sharon M.

Yelp
I adore their marinara sauce I ordered the penne primavera and my beloved had the lasagna Impeccable service by Lee My favorite Italian restaurant in San Antonio is hands down La Focaccia

Jazz J.

Yelp
Margherita pizza so good. Service is excellent. Wine selection as always great. Lots of variety on the menu.

Amanda C.

Yelp
I'm so mad it took me so long to give this a shot - this is an old-school, charming Italian restaurant that's like stepping into grandma's house. The hostess greeted us like we were old friends and was so nice and lovely. The waitstaff was super attentive, always filling our waters and sodas. The free bread was delicious and everyone really loved their food. Larger portions and, in the traditional style, the meat entrees all came with a side serving pf spaghetti that could have been its own meal! I didn't snap photos, but all of us really enjoyed everything, from the soup to the pizza to the pasta dishes. We will definitely come back.
google avatar

Gloria G.

Yelp
2 out of 4 of us got sick. ‍ the person that waited on us did the bare minimum. There are other Italian restaurants in the area where the ambience is much more inviting and positive.
google avatar

Amanda J.

Yelp
Everything was spectacular. Atmosphere. Wine. Food. Service. Definitely recommend! I had the crepe with seafood in it. SOOOOO. GOOOOOOD! I've never had a crepe at an Italian restaurant. Wasn't sure what to expect. But it was amazing!! The side of pasta, although just noodles, was sooo good too. I chose the butter garlic with my noodles. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Neesha P.

Yelp
Delicious Italian food with vegetarian options. I had a white wine sauce for the first time on our waiter, Kenny's, recommendation and it didn't disappoint. It was delicious! Would order again. My dad enjoyed the eggplant parm, and mom enjoyed the tortellini cream pesto. For saucey dish lovers, highly recommend!
google avatar

Sabrina R.

Yelp
Reading some of the reviews had me a little worried going in. But the food & service was excellent! Elizabeth kept our meal flowing without rushing us. The Linguine Pescatora was by far the best I have had anywhere! I've had the same dish in 4 and 5 star restaurants, so that is saying something! I asked for it to be slightly spicy and it came out with the perfect amount of heat for me. My husband was pleased with his lasagna, as well. The focaccia bread and dipping oil were a nice accompaniment to our dishes. We each enjoyed a Caesar salad before our entrees, which were also good. We agreed that this will be one of the restaurants we will have to return to each time we are in San Antonio.
google avatar

Joel G.

Yelp
We've been coming here for a long time, which should tell you a little bit. As far as few of the negative -Parkings terrible especially during lunch and dinner times. -restaurants seems a little dated. I know it's going for a classic Italian but feel like it could use some brightening up maybe with some new lighting or the general decor. However the positive far out weigh those, they make fresh complimentary focaccia bread in there old brick pizza over. Side salads are fresh and actually use romaine as opposed to iceberg. When it come to their entrees we had the chicken parm and it was awesome! Breading was light and crispy, it wasn't greasy and flavor was on point! The tomato sauce it's in is so bright and bold it truly is a compliment. All of their past is really good and for the price you can beat what you're getting. This beats Olive Garden any day of the week and can hold its own against any other Italian place in SA.

Julie K.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Hmmm.....the moment we walked into this establishment, we should've realized that we needed to leave. We waited while the hostess assisted another patron, but our wait went much longer than the time it took for her to get this person seated. She never greeted us, but instead found something funny as she was laughing. My son finally asked if they had a table for three. It's almost like he snapped her out of a trance as she finally acknowledged us and told us she would get us a table. Our server was extremely sweet, but lacked the ability to keep up with water glasses being filled, etc. We were hopeful that maybe the food would make up for the lack of good customer service. Sadly, the food was a disappointment. The flavor was okay, but mediocre. The old saying that "you eat with your eyes" would've fallen on deaf ear as our dishes literally looked like slop! I was so relieved when it was time to leave, not knowing that once again we we would be "wowed" with disgust. As we were walking out, my daughter and I saw a small white bucket, uncovered, with a ladle floating in the herbed oil which is served with the bread. This bucket was on a shelf by the door used to exit. Gross! This is experience was by far the worst we've ever had. Please consider choosing another restaurant in Southtown as there are many that are outstanding.

Yelp
This is basic Italian comfort food some right. I was surprised in all the best ways. Outstanding service. Great food. Our server Krlly was brilliant. . Everything from wine, to desert was done perfectly.

Yelp
I thought I was going to love it! Its centered in the wonderful King Williams district with an authentic appeal, beautiful interior and a classic Italian environment. Excellent wine menu and the Pinot Noir was . They make their own bread served with olive oil and oregano, their very own homemade red wine balsamic vinaigrette (amazing). The service was very good however the waitress seemed new or didn't do the best at selling the menu. I think it's great when you have a wait staff full of personality that provide recommendations and explain the menu up front to you. The main course was lacking. They were sold out of the seafood caneloni so we ordered the eggplant Parmesan and Chicken Picatta. They were also out of spumoni! The chicken picatta lemon/butter sauce came in a thick gravy form (very different) and the presentation looked kinda gross to be honest. It was a white chicken breast (no breading or crust) it was bare white with what I call "fakin bacon" on top. This is normally a favorite dish of mine I've ordered from several restaurants and this is the first time I haven't like it. The pasta was amazing, no complaints. My wife didn't like their eggplant Parmesan at all. This is her favorite meal she always orders first from every New Italian restaurant we try and if it's good she'll then explore the menu. From looking at it appeared to be baked? The cheese wasn't even all the way melted on and it looked like it was going to be cold in the middle (if you know what I mean). Too bad. Such potential. If the food were good we would totally have been back because we love the environment and it's a great place for groups, family get together, and date nights!

Yelp
Decided to try Southtown on our date night out. It was fun! Cute area. Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. We compromised on Italian. This place is pretty big inside and well decorated. Not too crowded for a weekend night. Food was good and service was good as well. We will definitely be trying this place again!

Kimi Z.

Yelp
The bathroom is right next to the kitchen- as I was walking by you can see all the dirty pans piled up and saw the guy LITERALLY grab a handful of spaghetti with his hands and put it on a plate. Not a clean establishment. Servers are nice but a bit dismissive. Food is not that great.

Tara R.

Yelp
Would not recommend. Chicken focaccia was subpar at best and the veal dish was tough.

Danny B.

Yelp
I'm 13 and never leave reviews but I downloaded yelp so I could review this place. Amazing food, amazing service, everything was perfect about this place! Our waiter Lee was amazing.

Ron P.

Yelp
Wood burning pizza oven. Good pasta. Decent wine selection. Tablecloths. Daily specials. Attentive services. Live piano on weekends.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Hey guys this place is open for business even though online it states it's closed. First time here and we loved it. The food was good and won't break the bank. The weird thing was inside is actually way larger than it looks on the outside. The tables were spread out so plenty of distancing enforced. The strip seems to have a lot happening and you can just walk and drop by to eat some good food. The service was great.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Seriously good Italian eats! My girlfriend and I dined here last Friday before going to the McCombs Theater to see A Bronx Tale. She ordered the spaghetti carbonara, and I opted for the grilled beef filet 'Sicilian Style', which came with a flavorful assortment of sautéed veggies and a side of pasta. Despite me wearing a suit, I got marinara on my pasta. The steak was cooked to order, nice and rare, and the veggies were fresh and flavorful. The marinara was great too. It would be great atop some meatballs or on a chicken parm. My girlfriend's carbonara was amazing, the best I have had at a restaurant stateside. They did it the right way. Wine list is also very solid and really good wine prices across the board. We will definitely be back. I am going to try thr saltimboca next time!

Andy B.

Yelp
Excellent authentic Italian food and services. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating!

Roxanne B.

Yelp
We went to have dinner and I had the spaghetti carbonara and my husband had the lasagna and both was delicious! I also got a salad but couldn't remember the name of it and had my tiramisu cake to go. I highly recommend it, everything freshly made

Yelp
Huge restaurant but limited parking. Small lot so we had to street park. I had the seafood with pasta, my daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo , my dad had the beef tenderloins and my mom had salmon. I don't remember what my husband had. My food was amazing. My daughter ate her entire bowl of fettuccine (she's 2yo). My dad said his beef was tough and my mom's fish was boring. My husband said his was just ok whatever it was. Service was good, tables are close together so not much privacy considering it's a huge restaurant.
