An Italian restaurant that serves what Italian food would be like: freshly made pasta, cozy spaces, a welcoming courtyard, and candlelit tables. This is a popular little restaurant; reservations are highly recommended. You will be greeted by a gregarious fellow who is the owner/proprietor and who loves what he does. You can sit either inside or out by request (depending on availability) at the time of arrival. The setting is nicer outside, and the seating is far more comfortable inside, as the patio has hard plastic chairs. We sat outside, in the quaint courtyard with a fountain and "string" trees. The tables are set with white linen, and a fresh candle is placed when you're seated. Everything we ate was fantastic and filling, but not heavy. It's a bit hard to explain, as Americans are used to "Italian" food being very thick and heavy, but their creams, dressings, and sauces seemed "light". They have a list of off-menu items (Specials) that are worth listening to. The pasta is al dente, and the portions are more than ample for most. The dress code is casual, though it's a small restaurant, and you will see many people on dates dressed nicely; they seem to accept all. The service was friendly and timely; although we had a couple of miscommunications, they were not serious issues and were easily resolved. The prices are not cheap, but if you splurge for La Fontana, you'll have a lovely experience. I can recommend.
