La Grillade Gourmande

It’s been almost 12 months since we visited however after stumbling upon a 1 star review I felt compelled. As an Australian who speaks very little French, the wait staff were amazing. Their help with food and wine selection was so professional and put us at total ease. I can only surmise that our 1 star reviewers were 1 star patrons. You get what you give! I will also add that we had no reservation until the amazing team at de Venoge secured a last minute table for us. A true 5 star experience🥰

My wife and I consider ourselves more than average food enthusiasts. While we love New Nordic Cuisine, we’re also big fans of French Cuisine. Although our 8-day trip to the Champagne region was primarily focused on tasting champagne, we had high expectations for the restaurants we had booked. La Grillade Gourmande met - and exceeded - our expectations on every level. The food was exquisite, including the best escargot dish I’ve ever tasted. Their pairing of wine and champagne with each course was spot-on, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere simply wonderful. We were so impressed that we returned the very next day to try more of C.B.’s dishes and were lucky enough to get a last-minute table. I believe it’s important to book well in advance here to ensure a spot. A heartfelt thank you for two unforgettable meals, C.B & K.B and your team. I hope - and truly believe - we’ll see you again next year.

Lovely food, presented beautifully. Very attentive and warm service. The open fireplace cooking added to a lively winter atmosphere. Booking ahead of time is essential.

Amazing food and incredible service - everything was a hit and the waiters were super friendly. Special shout out to their complimentary broccoli soup of the day it was insanely delicious!!

During our recent visit, we had the pleasure of dining at this exceptional restaurant for both lunch and dinner on the same day. Each meal was a delightful experience, with the cuisine surpassing our expectations and ranking among the best we’ve had in years. The chef’s personal touch, visiting tables to ensure satisfaction, added a special charm to our dining experience. By the end of the evening, the staff felt like friends and family, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We eagerly anticipate our next visit and will wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to friends traveling to the area.

Second visit after exactly 1 year and we were just as impressed by the great food and wine selection. We were a party of 4 and everyone loved everything they had, no exceptions. Excellent, educated and targeted champagne and wine recommendations by the somelier. The atmosphere of the place, very inspiring. Relatively tiny, which creates a warm feeling and we loved the open grill where one can see some of the dishes being prepared on the spot. Congratulations to owners and team for their friendliness and awesome service. Would visit this place very often if I did not live 650km away :)

Suggest to book online if you would like to dine here. Service was good as we got into the shop. Ordered their €42 menu. We really enjoyed the broccoli soup!! Got the foie gras for and additional €5. Both the entrees were good especially the scallops. Fish was very good but the chicken fell abit short and on the dry side. Quite a long wait for the dessert ( about 25-30mins, understandable as the shop is full ), quite disappointed with thejr moelleux au chocolat after a long wait as it was not hot and the ice cream was not to my liking. Pineapple gratin was on the sourish side as well. As the shop was full, it was on the noisier side.

Delicious food, wonderful service, great atmosphere ( we had a perfect summer day and were seated outside). You should make reservations ahead of time. If you’re looking for a perfect French cuisine, this is the perfect place.
