The Best Ecuadorian Restaurants In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"On weekend afternoons, La Hueca Epa is filled with kids in soccer uniforms eating fried chicken and big bowls of ceviche. This family-friendly spot in Corona is great to pop in for a casual lunch or dinner, and we’re pretty sure you could come here for six months straight and never repeat your order. The menu mostly focuses on seafood—with options that range from bollo de pescado to red crabs with rice and plantains—but don’t be afraid to branch out. Try the breaded steak that comes with rice beans and a bowl of crispy fries on the side." - Bryan Kim

La Hueca Epa Review - Corona - New York - The Infatuation

"La Hueca Epa is open all day, serving a lengthy catalog of Ecuadorian dishes in a compact dining room on a quiet residential block of Corona. Seafood is the specialty here, and, in addition to a variety of soups and stews, there are a bunch of different ceviches—including one with black clam. But don’t ignore all the meat on the menu. Try the breaded steak served with rice, beans, and a little bowl of crispy fries, or, if you’re feeling ambitious, get the picada that comes with pork, chicken, chorizo, and steak. The portions are substantial, so plan on sharing." - Bryan Kim

Google
food was okay, nothing special. however, our receipt had no items on it, just the total. i had to pay my friend back for my items, however i couldn’t find a online menu and the menu on google is not the same prices as i recalled at the restaurant. i called to ask about the prices, but was dismissed and was asked call back an hour later due to them being busy. more transparency is needed to customers.

I’m not someone who gives 5-star reviews easily—I’m pretty picky, especially when it comes to food. But La Hueca Epa is truly good. I had a delicious seco de chivo. The dish was clean, not overly seasoned, and the goat meat tasted fresh and was easy to chew. The sweet plantains were perfectly cooked and added the right touch of sweetness. José, our server, was kind, gentle, and incredibly helpful. He walked us through the menu and guided us toward the right choice. Everything was excellent.

I'm a chef and this is my first time in this place The food was delicious The service is good. The price is the same as all Ecuadorian places I will come back again. I don't review too often in any places but this time is worthy.

Everything was just delicious, plentiful and with an authentic Ecuadorean flavor. Highly recommended. Owner was very attentive and so were the servers. My favorite Ecuadorean place from now on
