Popped into La Internacional Supermercado for tacos and was blown away! The carnitas and chicharrón at the front deli looked incredible. Ordered carnitas, asada, rajas con queso, and al pastor tacos from the taqueria in the back. Every single one was delicious, with perfect salsas (loved the spicy green sauce!). The taquero even offered us chiles toreados, which were a fantastic addition. Tacos were big, filling, and delicious. Will be back!!

YOU CAN HAVE THE BEST TACOS. YOU ONLY HAVE TO GO INSIDE TO THE SUPERMARKET AND TASTE THE BEST CARNITAS, PASTOR, RAJAS AND MORE. AND BUY THE VERY GREAT PRODUCTS. ALSO, THEY HAVE THEIR OWN PARKING LOT.

Always always banging. Walk into the store, walk down the right side aisle, straight to the back. Order your tacos at the register: Carne asada, barbacoa, carnitas, chicharron, lengua…. Pick your own taco and get a free roasted jalapeño.

Tacos are filled with meat, however, carne asada was dry. For the price of each taco, limes were not included. We were told it's 50c each. $5 a taco and at the bare minimum half a lime was not included. There are better places at a more reasonable price. Spent close to $50, and not even a slice of lime was given. Do better.

My friend and I made the truck out there, and it was absolutely worth it. I had a carne asada taco, a barbacoa taco, and taco al pastor. They were delicious and very filling. I probably would've been good with just two tacos. Get yourself over here if you've never been.

This place was legit! It had been on my list for years. Finally tried their tacos & the Barbacoa taco was yummy as well as the chicken guisado. My husband loved his Al pastor and carne asada tacos. Quick & friendly service. Free parking too! Will definitely be back.

Best tacos in the city. Even after a tour of South America, these are the best. I was told this myself 4 years ago and have agreed ever since. I have counted 45 people here at once getting tacos. The the grocery store makes the experience that much better. While you wait make sure you get some chicharon from the deli, but pay for that up front first.

This review is for the Paco's Tacos served at the back of the store. The tacos here never disappoint. I have been to this location a handful of times with my boyfriend, and have tried the carne asada and pollo guisado tacos. The carne asada tacos were delectable. The meat was tender and juicy, bursting with flavor. The pollo guisado were quite good too, but nothing beats the carne asada. I always smother my tacos with the salsa verde - literally so addicting! The people are always friendly and the service is quick, even during busy hours. Seating is limited, which may be a problem if you are looking to eat there. The last time I was there, I was with my dad who is handicapped and unable to get onto the high bar stools. It was a slight setback for us, but when he saw others getting their tacos, he pushed a chair aside and decided to stand instead of sit at the counter. He said that the setback was not even a setback if the tacos looked that good. Once he took his first bite, he proclaimed that he would always eat here no matter what the seating situation is. I looked into it and I'll have to try out the other Paco's locations that are stand alone and have more accessible seating, but this location gets five stars from my dad and I!

The service is extremely fast and he tacos are made fresh. Everyone is friendly, but seating is first come, first serve if you do not want the order to go.

the time online say they open at 8am and and another car was waiting to be let in, she said she 8:30, so we waited til 8:30am, the lights came on in the restaurant but no one let us in. she called , they let the phone ring , I called and they just let it ring. if you want taco early morning don't let the open mark excite you.

Pretty good tacos here.They definitely fill them up with plenty of delicious meat.They get slammed on the weekend so be prepared.Totally recommend stopping in for tacos!!!!

I hadn't thought to try them out before a co worker who grew up in the area raved about the tacos here one day while giving me a ride home. After that, it seemed like every ride share driver who'd sparked conversation with me would ask if I'd ever had the tacos here because they'd either heard about them or have had them and told me how I was missing out. So eventually, I convinced my husband to take a walk with me to grab a few of these epic tacos. They told not one lie. Those tacos were amazing! Flavorful, juicy, and quite filling. It's my new go to for tacos in the area.

Hidden gem for tacos! Prices for one taco $4.25 each, but they are definitely worth it. Come prepared to wait there is always a line. The home made salsas are great, the red salsa is super spicy. I tried a carne asada taco, Al pastor taco, and a chicharrón verde taco. All the tacos were delicious, but the chicharrón verde taco is one of the best I have tried. Will definitely be back to try some of the other tacos available. Just a watch out is inside a small grocery store.

They have a taco joint in this place that's got the same menu as Paco's Tacos. They are Paco's Tacos. Tacos are delicious but there's so much meat it spills out and you have to eat with your hands It would be nice if they provided forks

This location is smallest of the three. The taqueria is at the back of the restaurant and has a few tables. Unfortunately there isn't enough tables for amount of business this location gets. It's get packed! Fortunately, we got there before the rush came and found a couple seats open to watch the magic happen. I ordered their carne Asada and al pastor tacos. Both were phenomenal. And both tacos were packed full of meat. That's what I love about Pacos Tacos. Their consistency and the no skimping on the meat. Although they don't use skirt steak here either, it is still tasty and full of flavor. The al pastor was also tasty. The last time I had an al pastor at Pacos, something felt off. Perhaps it just needed to be cooked a little longer. But glad to see it was just an off day on the al pastor, because I enjoyed them this time. Pacos tacos is definitely Top 5 tacos in the city. Can't wait to come back!

I saw someone review them on IG and decided to try them because they are not too far from the house. These tacos are packed with juicy meat. Their service is fast and you can be in and out in 10 minutes. It's a good spot.

This is a good (but not great) taco spot on the southside. I think I favored this spot more because it's tucked away in the back of a neighborhood grocery store. The store itself resembles more of a mini mart. I ordered two carne asada tacos and horchata for $6.95; they don't charge tax. The horchata was delicious and one of the better ones I have had in Chicago. It tasted more balanced whereas some others I have tried have been extremely sweet or others have skipped cinnamon altogether. This place is definitely popular among the southsiders in the area and it appears to have a steady stream of business. If you can't grab a seat at the counter, where you can watch them prepare the food, you might be able to grab one of the few tables available.

Had 2 friends that I had eaten here so I knew I had to try it out! I got 5 tacos. 2 Barbacoa, 2 carnitas, 1 chiccarones taco. I really enjoyed the Carnitas and chiccarones tacos. Onion and cilantro on my tacos. They're not stingy with the salsa! Some folks were eating their tacos in the store and you can see the cook at the grill. It's inside of a supermarket which is something different than I'm used to but if you need to pick me up a few things you can kill 2 birdsb with one stone. 5 tacos for about $13. It's tough to beat that from a price to delisciousness ratio.

3.5 stars. Very solid tacos for about $3 each. I prefer a charred flavor with my carne asada tacos, but these were lacking. Still good flavor though. We tried just about every taco on the menu and they were all pretty good. The horchata is house made, but was too sweet the day I stopped in. Not worth a special trip, but if you're within 10 mins grab a few tacos.

Bang for your buck - Salsa is very fresh and homemade Cons: - Tortilla shells aren't fresh or homemade Conclusion: - Not bad. There are just better options nearby, where they make fresh tortillas with more corn flavor, and the meat is even more flavorful (ex: La Barca for cecina tacos or Taqueria Tayahua for carbonado or cecina)

Have you ever been scared to write a review in fear of the place being discovered and then you wont be able to get your favorite tacos of all time? I sit here in fear as I type this. SO DAMN SERIOUS. This place is the absolute JOINT. I know it sounds weird, tacos in the back of a store, but i would not lead you astray Yelpers. I order the carnitas, pastor and asada, onion and cilantro with avocado. These tacos are stuffed to the max and worth every penny they charge, These tacos are so good that I was totally silent throughout the darn meal. Its real simple, you order, you pay, sit down, go get your food, eat, leave. In between att that is the taco and how packed with flavor it is and juicy. Not all tacos are created equal and let me tell you, La International reigns supreme. Chiles provided upon request and the place is absolutely bustling. I recommend this for all taco connoisseurs. The service is friendly and they run this place like a well oiled machine. Prices are super reasonable. Counter seating with a few other table strewn about. Great for a quick little lunch.

Best taco place on south side, I get steak tacos it comes with cilantro an onion but I ask for the chard peppers an green salsa take it home add cheese an avocado an a cold beer great tacos all the time I drive 40 min to get the there that damn good

Stopped on Monday and had two tacos - a lengua and a pollo. The lengua did not have much flavor and I didn't like how it was cubed (prefer it sliced) and fell out of the tortillas. The pollo was much tastier but, did not have much meat for the price. I noted that for a lunch hour there were only 2 diners.

Bomb tacos! This taqueria is in the back of a grocery store so its hidden away. They have huge tacos. I always get tongue which are $4 per taco which is pricey but they are worth it. Never come during lunch time or on the weekends because it is so full. They have a counter around the grill so there is not enough seating area. Its pretty much an in and out sorta place. Only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because I love my tacos with with hot cheetos. So I usually buy my cheetos located at the front of the store and walk to back to get my tacos. One day I did just that. As I was seated already eating one of the waitresses asked me for proof that I had paid them. Since I paid literally 1.50 for the cheetos I didnt ask for a receipt. Well the waitress made me stop eating and walk to front to verify. Extremely uncool. She apologized afterwards because I told her she could of easily waited until I was done eating but she made me get up walk to the front with my taco in hand. Anyways the tacos are bomb!!

EXCELLENT tacos, no matter the type they are great. Fast and efficient service and located in a small shop so you can grab a few things for later on the way out. Located right outside of the stockyards. Great lunch stop. Highly recommended.

This is a local supermarket with some awesome tacos for $2.60 each. You can watch them prepare the meats by grilling or boiling them and cooking the tortillas on the grill. I enjoyed the salsa and limon along with the generous flavoring of cilantro and onions on the tacos. I tried the carnitas, barbacoa, and carne asada tacos. I would definitely recommend this local joint to a friend who wants to taste some comfort Mexican food. The atmosphere is lively, and the soft corn tortillas with salivating freshly cooked meat oozing with juices coming dripping down your hands is an experience to have. I washed it all down with a ice cold lime Jarritos. I suggest 3-4 tacos for the average hungry college student looking to fulfill their taco fix. The only downside is the limited space. But it is a perfect venue for a party of two.

South side of Chicago is the sh*t when it comes to cheap eats. On the corner of Ashland and 46th., "Supermercado La Internacional" is the Back of Yards neighborhood represent for their working-class tacos! Yes, head all the way to the back. There's a taqueria and all tacos are made-to-order. By the way, this place is BUSY, but Rosa J. and hubby were able to spot two (2) stool seats by the cashier. Most patrons speak fluently Spanish, so was my Italian hubby. There's no shyness if you want good food. The cashier and cooks were friendly and helpful regardless what language you choose to communicate. Hubby and I consumed four (4) carne asada, one (1) lengua, one (1) pollo, two (2) orders of horchata. The total was $18.60. Since the cost of living in the city of Chicago has elevated drastically due to that never-ending increase of tax, dinner for two (2) under $20 is considered reasonable. These tacos were amazing! The portion of well-seasoned meat was abundant in each taco. Based on other Yelp reviews, they recommended "dine-in" instead of "carry-out," for a significant difference with the amount of meat. While I couldn't scientifically validate this hypothesis, I "eye-balled" some of the to-go orders and concluded that some Yelpers' observations leading to formulate such hypothetical statement could speculatively be true. Their free parking lot is quite tight and cramped, so hubby opted for paid street parking on 46th. If you want to "cheat," make sure that the meter guys are enjoying their tacos while you're doing the same. Run out the door and pretend that you're moving your vehicle whenever they are done eating. Really though, just pay four (4) quarters for a 30-minute parking. "With great tacos comes great honesty."

Great taco joint in Back of the Yards... it's in the back of the grocery store! First off, it's always busy so expect a line.. also expect dummies in line that simply don't know how to order tacos; yes it's true. Just so were clear all they do is TACOS.. absolutely nothing else so don't expect burritos & tortas/ TACOS ONLY! Watch The Taqueros load up the flat top with double corn tortillas and get to work/ it's definitely something to see. The carne asada tacos are the star of the show and they do them authentic with finely diced onion & cilantro; stuffed with steak and piping hot! Tacos are served with lime wedges and they have great salsa verde as well as a rojo. The Al Pastor is also outstanding.. probably the best I've had and I think better than the steak; you be the judge. Small seating area around the kitchen & don't forget to ask for a jalapeno pepper with your order! Prices average/ Talk later

Loved their tacos! Went here with a friend, staff was really nice. Just a quick place to grab some food. Coming from a person that hates corn shells, I had no problem with their tacos. Steak was well seasoned as well, I will be back!

Super great tacos in a thriving supermarket. There is side parking lot and you enter through the alley. Enter in the front door and you immediately see the deli and meat counters as well as the chicharonnes / carnitas for sale by the pound. Taco stand is in the back for $2.60/taco for most flavors (carnitas, chicharonnes, pollo, Barbacoa, carne asada) or $4/each for the lengua (pricy but very tender)! The tacos were very meaty for the price and 3-4 each will fill up someone with a big appetite. They come fully dressed with onions and cilantro, I got 2x barbaocoa, 2x carnitas, 2x carne asada, 1x lengua for $19 and change for two hungry people. The Barbacoa was our favorite , it was so flavorful and tender and juicy! Every two tacos come with a red and green salsa cup, which tastes freshly blended- the salsa verde is mild and the red salsa is extremely spicy in the best way possible! Skip the carnitas, it wasn't that flavorful sadly. Kind of bland. The lengua was nice and tender but a bit pricey IMO. The carne asada was nice and crispy but not as tender as I hoped. It was filled with a lot of meat though and still very good. I will be back for the horchata and more tacos! There was a line even though it was a 3 pm on a Friday but the line moves fast, there is a lady taking ur order while you wait in line and then she gives you a ticket with your order to take to the counter. They take both cash and card, and the ladies speak Spanish automatically but switch to English if you're non native like me.

The tacos are literally to die for! Whether you're hungry, or hungover this is the place to be. You HAVE to get the green chicharron , carnita , and the steak! My ultimate best and favorite spot. Hidden gem.

How I've stumbled here? I left my credit card at Whiner Brewing on Saturday and stumbled across this corner the next day. You wouldn't have noticed that a taco place existed. That's because it's hidden away on the back of a small Mexican grocery store. It was packed on a Sunday. I wasn't in a rush and was driving back to St. Louis. The horchata on the menu really caught my eye, and I have no regrets there. I ordered a carne asada and carnitas tacos with a horchata. The flavors on the meat really hit the spot for me. Once you get your tacos, you're going to be either crapped on the corner of a table because the seating is limited. It's more of a place where you order, sit, eat, and go. I'm very glad to stumble upon it and willing to come back if I'm every around that part of the city.

4 star review for just the carne asada tacos - these were very filling and delicious at $2.60 each (tax included)! They come with green and red salsa, both are spicy - I prefer the green one as the red one as more of a smokey flavor. Horchata was pretty good ($1.50) and wasn't super sweet. Barbacoa tacos were just ok, probably will not get those again. Not much flavor. Can be a bit of a wait for your taco around dinner time (~10min) but they come out super fresh and hot!

Amazing tacos. I love living in the neighborhood because of this spot. The wait for tacos is not long, their Chiles toreados are perfect and they do not skimp on meat. I made tostadas out of one barbacoa taco! Even though the horchata kinda tastes like the Klass bag mix, I don't mind!

I have to admit I was hesitant at first about coming here for authentic taco's due to the sketchy areas near this place. There were a fairly large parking lot for shopping here but the area was not lit so I decided to street park. The only lines I saw was the people buying groceries and no lines for taco's yet possibly due to the time we went which was a little past normal dinner times (after 7pm). I ordered a trio of beef tacos to try, they gave me a ticket and I sat down. 10 minute and they called my number which was in Spanish and since I was the only person without any food - they assumed right. Have to admit, each taco had a generous portion of meat and was actually pretty good, so good I had to order another trio. Each taco was $2.60 and lime was $.25. Highly recommend this place.

The tacos here is still tasty. The staff still works hard. But my issue is the prices are constantly going up. $3.25 for a taco? Again the tacos are good but I'm not sure they're that good. I'm glad this place opened back up after the pandemic, and maybe they're compensating for the time they were closed but honestly if the prices stay the same or increase anymore they are going to lose some customers.

This is one of my favorite taco spots.. They have a taco tray also in case you're having company and dont wana cook! They are pretty quick with the orders as well!!!

This is my favorite taco place across the board. Best tacos ever. My favorite taco is Rajas con Queso. Sadly, they dont open late but when I'm able to go it's always a treat!

Get the carna asada, carnitas n pollo...no one gets the chicken tho...according to my coworker.

This is corner store in the back of the yards hood with a taco area in the back. People come from all over the city to this place. You'll usually find a line but they work quickly. Tacos are a nice size and prices are not bad either. They have a variety of options. I personally like the Asada tacos & pollo adobado. If you love s give this place a try.

What else can be said that hasn't been said already...the tacos here rock.. and you get alot of meat in the tacos... The only thing is that precisely because they are soo filling you may need to unbutton your pants..after you are done eating... so if you are in some type of diet... this is probably not in any approved food list..but it is ooohh soo good!!! This would fall under your "cheat meal" These tacos are the real thing....no lettuce...cheese on...them Its a restaurant inside a supermarket but I think the bulk of their business is from the restaurant..There is also not alot of seating and this place gets filled really quickly so that is the only reason for the minus one star because if you are like me and going with kids..they only have stools ..so its a bit tricky with small children but the food is phenomenal.. p.s The taqueros are waaay nicer than the females that help out at the cash register...and they are quick considering they get many orders both for dining in and take-out.
