How Pandan’s Sweet and Floral Flavor Adds Nuance to Cakes and Desserts - Eater

"Tran is the owner of Là Lá Bakeshop, a Vietnamese bakery in Toronto that uses pandan liberally in its pastries. One of its signature cakes contains a layer of pandan chiffon cake resting on a base of coconut-infused sticky rice, which reminds me of green glutinous rice sprinkled with coconut flesh and other sweet toppings, often sold by street vendors in Vietnam." - Giao Chau

There was street parking right outside. I did a grab and go. But there are two bar seats Love their roll cakes. My favourite place to order cakes for the asian pallet. Not super sweet and asian inspired flavors. Enjoyed the new longan jasmine! Keep it coming :)

Olivia

Google
I would highly recommend this to bakery to anybody interested. Their Asian inspired flavours are soo delicious! I bought 2 cakes (pandan & taro) for my husband’s bday and they were a hit. Super fluffy light cakes, lots of flavour, but not too sweet! Additionally, the service is above and beyond. I had to last minute cancel my order due to a potential cancellation of the birthday event, they allowed me to cancel and then even were on standby in case I still needed the cake order (which ended up happening). 10/10 customer service experience and 10/10 delicious cakes!!! I’ve also tried their salted egg cake / rolls and they’re so yummy. Such unique flavours. This place is definitely one of my go to’s for any cakes needed in the future :)

I am in 💜 with the Lava Buns. All flavours. Fav is salted egg yolk, taro, and pistachio. The key is to heat it up a little so that the lava melts. Amazing quality and worth every bite. It's a dream - a real puff. Staff are always nice, patient, and smile. Will come back and try the other flavours.

Google
So yummy!! I got the salted egg yolk cake with pork floss and it was so creamy😋 the cake itself was also not too sweet, which I like. Fluffy and not dry at all, but it is more on the pricey side (worth it 😍).

Google
They have a cute selection of mini cakes with Asian flavours such as durian, ube, coconut, mango, pandan, and salted egg rolls. The sticky rice cakes are light and not too sweet but still creamy and delicious. Just a bit pricey for the size and quantity but otherwise fun to try.

Google
Coconut sticky rice mini cake - one of the best desserts I've had in recent times. It is flavorful & creamy with multiple textures and just the right amount of sweetness.

Google
Love the Southeast Asian flavours of their buns and pastries - especially their salted egg lava bun! Not too sweet and just right. I was picking up my order and it was a really rainy day - the staff didn’t have to but they helped get me a bag to carry my order in because I had a lot of boxes. Really appreciate how kind they were!

Sunday, 20 April 2025 I had such a lovely experience at Là Lá bakeshop! The pastries were delicious, and the cozy atmosphere. But what truly made my visit special was the exceptional customer service from Avery. Avery was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. She took the time to explain the different pastries, gave great recommendations, and made sure I was taken care of the entire time. Her genuine warmth and positive energy really stood out and made the whole experience memorable. Thank you, Avery, for making my day! I’ll definitely be coming back — and recommending Là Lá to friends.

Yelp
We came back again on 2025-06-29 for their Mini Cakes, which are so good and not too sweet. From 2025-06-17 to 29, when you buy a Mini Cake ($12.50 or $14.00), you get a free Longan Jasmine Mini Cake ($12.50). We loved the Longan Jasmin Mini Cake, so we had to take advantage of this special! We ordered the Matcha Pandan Mini Cake ($12.50). Both cakes were so good. You won't regret it! Review 2025-122

Yelp
TL:DR... I (thought I) ordered the new Longan Jasmine cake for Mothers Day dinner.. went to pick it up in the afternoon of Mother's Day.. only for the very kind associate to tell me that I had actually made the order to pick up the following week ‍‍‍‍. They were sold out - every cake accounted for and I thought I was SOL. No one's fault but my own... After going to the back to speak with the head baker, they rummaged to find that they COULD make another cake for the other customer and I could have the one in the display case. I was STUNNED. incredible service... she knew it was for our dinner tonight and she SAVED MY BUTT. Now that I've had the cake... it is everything they've described it as. Light, not too sweet and delicious. The longan are perfectly ripe, the frosting/cream wasn't too heavy and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. Thank you, associate, for saving my ass and our Mother's Day gathering! I'll definitely be reordering (and triple checking the pick up date)!!

Yelp
We always look forward to celebrating milestones, birthdays, and everything in between cakes from Là Lá Bakeshop! Even our parents have given it the "not too sweet" stamp of approval! There's just so much durian fruit inside, and it's perfectly ripe and custardy. The Vietnamese coffee tiramisu is equally good! We've had long debates about which cake is the best one, lol. Their customer service has always been so incredibly great, and they deserve all the business they're getting. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Ordered a taro lover birthday cake online to have it shipped. It was my first time hearing sticky rice in a cake so I knew I had to try it. The delivery service they use was useful, they sent multiple text messages to notify when the cake was going to arrive. The cake itself was beautiful and delicious. We got to try it together and all agreed that it was unique and yummy, not too sweet either. I would like to order their newest flavour (longan jasmine cake) one day!

Yelp
I heard that there was a Vietnamese own bakery in Toronto so I had to try it! If you're a fan of Durian, then I highly recommend the durian cake just because it is a Durian lovers dream. There were actual chunks of durian in the cake and it matched so well with the cake. The Logan cake was in the lighter side of flavor but still very good. I wish I lived in Toronto so I could try more flavors.

Yelp
La La Bakeshop makes the absolute best box cakes! I'm obsessed with their ube cake--it's my go-to order, and I've had it more than five times already. The cake features delicious ube flavour, a soft and airy whipped cream layer, a fluffy cake layer, and a unique sticky rice base infused with ube. The sticky rice is the best part! I also tried their matcha pandan cake, but it wasn't my favourite. The bitter matcha powder on top was overwhelming and took away from the overall experience, so I'll be sticking to my favourite ube cake from now on. One thing I've noticed is that the box cakes have gotten smaller, but thankfully, the price was adjusted to match the size reduction.

Yelp
I tried the pastries here for the first time recently and really enjoyed the aesthetic of the bakery! the cakes were so cute. I ordered the lava buns and thought they were so cute! they were a little small but the flavors were so cool! I really like the Creme Brulee flavor .

Yelp
I was so ecstatic to find out that this Vietnamese Bakery opened in Mississauga. I've been a fan of this place since I visited their Bloor location. The people working at the stall are helpful and the service to get your pastries and cakes is quick. Just a disclosure the place is inside Ocean Supermarket and they're right in front of the entrance. The flavour of Viet coffee is very potent and durian and coconut are my favourites. I'm also a fan of their Banh Mi Croissant as a perfect savoury quick bites. I recently tried their Taro sliced cake and that was amazing. A very light creamy cake with a taro flavour bomb. The seaweed roll cake is very interesting as it has sweet to salty components.

Itt V.

Yelp
The cakes here are quite tasty. We liked their pandan coconut cake. So 4/5 stars for food. Why the two star review? On the price tag, it said it was normally $12 but it was on sale for $10. Awesome! After paying, I realized that they charged me $12+ tax instead of $10 +tax! I went back to ask the cashier and she said "oh that sale ended yesterday but we don't have a new sign yet". Mistakes happen, but she didn't try to rectify their mistake, didn't fix their price tag (e.g., can cross off the number), and kept their misleading price tag there. If you go there, beware and check the price in case they overcharge you.

Vivian _.

Yelp
The employees here are so cheerful and genuinely love what they do. They took time to explain each item and even helped me choose a cake for my friend's birthday. Everything was neatly arranged and very clean. I ended up getting the chocolate mousse cake, which was rich, creamy, and not overly sweet. The packaging was also elegant and secure. A fantastic experience all around.

Yelp
LA LA Bakeshop is a modern Vietnamese bakery with a few locations in the GTA. They serve a variety of baked goods infused with East Asian flavours such as pandan, coconut, durian, taro, matcha, and salted egg yolk. They usually have seasonal items such as holiday-themed cakes (for Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day, etc.), such as the Chocolate Yule Log for Christmas (which is very pretty and cutely decorated). Some of their most popular and best-selling items include Durian Supreme Cake, Matcha Pandan Tiramisu Cake, Vietnamese Coffee Tiramisu Cake, Salted Egg Cake, Taro Lover Cake, and the variety of croissants. In addition to full-size cakes, they also serve mini cakes and buns (individual-portioned) such as the Coconut Sticky Rice Mini Cake, Taro Ube Mini Cake, Crème Brûlée Lava Bun, and Matcha Lava Bun. It's a great bakery option for those looking for Asian flavours, especially because Asian baked goods tend to be less sweet and some have savoury components (e.g. Bánh Mì Croissant, Roasted Seaweed Roll Cake, Salted Egg Cake / Croissant). For drinks, they offer different kinds of milk tea, Vietnamese coffee, and coconut coffee. Service is quick and friendly. It's mainly a take-out place and you can pre-order online or by calling ahead of time, and schedule a time for pick-up. They do limited in-house delivery, but it can fill up quickly (especially during busy holiday season).

Yelp
The chocolate lava bun was to DIE FOR. WOW. You could taste the quality of the cocoa they used to make the chocolate molten filling. Warmed up the bread was soft and pillowy and the insides became liquid gold. Crème brûlée bun was just the same but would be ideal for vanilla lovers. You'd definitely have to love chocolate to enjoy the chocolate bun because it was soooo rich and deep in flavor. Also tried the Vietnamese tiramisu which was good but it tasted like any traditional tiramisu admittedly. I loved that the ratio of cream was higher than the ladyfingers. The garlic cream cheese bun was very sweet and packed with cream cheese. Not my favorite but nice.

Yelp
Tiny shop with unique dessert options! I popped in as my da slices durian so I wanted to pick up a durian cake for him to try! Ended up getting a durian, coconut sticky rice and the viet coffee tiramisu. I didn't try the durian as I'm not a fan of the fruit- the coconut sticky rice was delicious but for the 15.00 (box) sized it's really quite overpriced for basically rice and cream... the viet coffee was not my favourite- as it's super creamy- it was good for again for 15.00, I don't understand why (making the packaging costs a lot)? They did let me know that their full cakes serving 6-8 range from 35-50, so realistically I should have gotten a full cake as my 3 cake boxes were about 55.00 tax in. For the amount of cake there actually was this was definitely pricier then it should be.

Yelp
LA LA Bakeshop is a modern Vietnamese bakery selling delicious baked goods, cakes, desserts, and even drinks. Located near Bloor and Spadina, this small shop is a haven for anyone who wants to try something unique. The shop is primarily takeout although there are a few spots to sit at to enjoy your items. I've been to LA LA Bakeshop numerous times and love all their offerings! The banh mi croissant is definitely a favourite (it's as good as it sounds). The roll cakes are a mix of savoury and sweet which is interesting (in a good way!). Definitely unique and something I've never tried before. Their garlic cream cheese bun is also heavenly. Their mini cakes are amazing as well (recommend the matcha pandan tiramisu and the coconut sticky rice mini cake). They also recently started selling bottled drinks as their Scarborough location has drinks made to order. The Vietnamese coffee is good and the Jasmine milk tea has a strong tea flavor. Overall, definitely recommend checking out this place! Unique baked items and desserts with an Asian twist.

Yelp
Had the pandan bun. It was light & fragrant with pandan flavour despite having no filling.

Yelp
Roll cake : Salty & savory Pork floss, sweet & runny custard, melt in your mouth roll cake. This harmony of all flavours & textures made me savour every single bite. Salted egg roll cake($6.25) slice vs. roasted seaweed roll cake($5.25). Other than different topping of salted egg in the sauce & crumber / roasted seaweed. They tasted like they had same roll cake & custard cream. I did not tasted strong salted egg flavour maybe it was already mixed with salty pork floss? Next time I will probably pay $1 less for roasted seaweed roll cake. Snack size Bahn Mi Croissant was spreaded with yummy patê, a good quality pork sausage & crunchy cucumber slice. Was not sure how they pickled cucumber so perfectly. Another sweet & savory treat! As advised, I heated up in my air fryer for a couple of minutes, had it slightly warm. It was perfect. Durian Mini Cake : also enjoyed real durian sauce with pandan cake, topped with butter custard. It had a good amount of durian flavour. La La celebrated their one year anniversary with 20% off promo & free tote bag and I happily enjoyed all the goodies I picked up from them. Sincerely friendly service was provided and loved yellow color decor of bakery. So cute!

Yelp
Finally got to pick up a couple desserts from La La after having this placed bookmarked for a while! I came around 10:30am and their showcase was almost filled with all their goodies. I picked up their coconut sticky rice and durian cake - both $14 each. I found their coconut sticky rice cake was good with a pretty strong coconut flavour. I enjoyed the sticky rice at the bottom which added more texture and bounce to the overall dessert. For the durian cake, it was good too - reminds me of my childhood. However, for both cakes I felt that the pandan chiffon cake had very muted pandan flavour. The cake itself is green and with the subtle pandan flavour, I feel they use food colouring. The cakes were both nice treats but for the price point, I felt it was just OK. I also got a slice of the salted egg roll cake with pork floss and was not a huge fan of the savoury and sweet concept however I appreciate the creativity behind this dessert. La La's baked goods are certainly beautiful and creative and I would definitely try them again in the future. Service was nice.

Yelp
Grabbed the lava cream cheese bun with pork floss on top on a whim because I walked by and it smelled AMAZING on the inside. The bun was $6.50 and while it was super fluffy and had lots off cream cheese filling, I wouldn't say it's worth the price tag or that it would be a regular purchase for me. They also offer cakes in boxes for $9.50 with pretty interesting flavours and seem like they would make nice gifts or treats for a birthday picnic!

Yelp
I visited La La Bakeshop back in September when they first opened and it has been one of my favourite Vietnamese bakery spot in Toronto! This #veryasian bakery is one of many Asian businesses in the GTA that is proudly embracing Asianess along with the support of the Asian community in the GTA. They recently opened a new location located in Sky City Plaza in Scarborough!!! Items featured - Vietnamese coffee tiramisu ($14) ~ classic tiramisu with Vietnamese coffee - Durian mini cake ($14) ~ layers of pandan chiffon cake filled with sauce containing real durian and topped with their signature custard - Coconut sticky rice ($14) ~ layer of coconut sticky rice, pandan chiffon cake and topped with delicious coconut sauce and shavings - Salted egg and cream cheese pork floss cake - Lava cream cheese ~ filled with cream cheese sauce and topped with pork floss and cheese powder - Scallion and cured sausage ($3.80) ~ soft and fluffy bread filled with sweet & savoury custard and then rolled and coated with pork floss, scallion and cured chinese sausage - Bahn mi croissant ($6.80) ~ classic Vietnamese bahn mi with a twist: croissant!

Yelp
Everyone in the family loved the durian cake! We tried the Daan Go durian cake and needed a change. This was even better and we were super glad we gave it a try. The cake was super creamy with lots of durian pieces in the middle. The bakery is super cute and it has a very cozy vibe. You can tell they put a lot of thought in their menu and space. They have so many unique cakes and buns. The happy birthday sign they gave us is also really unique. It's a bit far from home but I definitely will be back! I want to try their salted egg yolk cake next.

Yelp
Another good place to hit up if you want to get your sweet tooth on. We came here or dessert, and coffee. Love the vibe here, the chocolate cakes and vanilla cream cakes are good here. Nice crew working here, and sweet pastries. We will be back

Yelp
The durian cake was ordered for a birthday celebration. The cake itself was well constructed. It was firm and loaded with durian stuffing. Their 6 inch cake (35$ in person and 45$ on Ubereats) feeds 4-6 people.

Yelp
This #VeryAsian bakery pushes to embrace Asianess and cultivate love & pride within the community. Ask me how good this cake was...I'll tell you, driving from Markham to their cute shop in downtown Toronto the day after the snowstorm was so so worth it. This Supreme Durian Cake is available with the Lunar New Year design until Feb 1. It was absolutely perfect from the melt-in-mouth texture of cake to the accurate durian flavour and sweetness! You can place your order: lalabakeshop.ca

Yelp
Have been following them on Instagram since they've opened. Been meaning to try this place out for a while, although it's a shame I haven't physically been to the store (hoping to do so soon) my friend was kind enough to swing by and pick up a few pastries for himself and grab me a mini cake as well. I'm a huge fan of anything that is sticky rice, pandan and durian, I usually don't have a chance to come across Vietnamese desserts often so when I do I'm always looking forwards to anything that catches my eyes. My friend got me the coconut sticky rice mini box cake ($14 CAD). Packaging was really nice, plastic box which clearly displays the layers of ingredients along with a nice and simple sticker (great gifting ideas if you're ever looking to gift something to a foodie). From bottom to top it consisted of sticky rice, chiffon pandan cake and topped with a coconut sauce and coconut shavings. Taste wise, I wish the pandan in the chiffon was stronger, to me it just tasted like a regular chiffon cake but dyed green. The coconut sauce wasn't so sweet which was good. I'm not a huge fan of coconut but it was pretty tolerable. Sticky rice wasn't too bad, it was green and I was wondering if it was also flavored with pandan, if so then that would be a shame because I couldn't taste any pandan. Overall it was a nice try, I probably wouldn't buy it myself cause it is a bit steep in terms of pricing/size. Hoping I'll have another friend that will gift me some durian cakes from there in the near future lol.

Yelp
This place was one of the places that I've bookmarked for a while. I was so excited to try Vietnamese desserts while I was in downtown! It is a very small store with a clean and modern interior. As soon as I walked in, a young friendly lady greeted me. She asked me a few questions to help me choose which desserts to get. I have never had Vietnamese desserts before, so I was glad that she explained all the desserts. The hardest part was choosing which ones to get, everything looked so good! In the end, I got roasted seaweed roll cake slice and salted egg roll cake slice (both are best sellers). The total was a little over $11. It's a steep price for two cake slices, but you won't regret it! Both were lightly sweet and sour at the same time. It's something that I've never tasted before, so my taste buds were on a tour! I loved every bite, and so did my mom! Highly recommended! If you love desserts, come and check this place out!

Yelp
Even before their opening, I had always wanted to try this bakery! LÀ LÁ Bakeshop specializes in transforming southeast Asian flavours in UNIQUE and DELICIOUS desserts. Whether you live in Toronto or outside the GTA... you've got to try their cakes and buns! They have a HUGE range of classic Asian flavours from SALTED EGG to DURIAN... this spot was truly one of the highlights of my year. I was so glad that they do delivery in which I was able to catch a taste of these baked goods. Luckily, they offer free delivery for any orders $50+. Captured in the Picture - Durian Mini Cake ($15.50) - (8.5/10) As a durian lover, I have NO COMPLAINTS. It tasted just like durian and it wasn't too sweet. Even though the mini cakes may seem small, it is so decadent and rich in flavour that I had to consume it over a span of two days. Vietnamese Coffee Tiramisu ($14) - (8.0/10) Your classic Vietnamese coffee in a cute compact box, what more can we ask for!? The condensed milk truly comes out in the Vietnamese coffee as it is delicious and super flavourful. It is a classic take on a tiramisu but with a viet coffee twist. Roasted Seaweed Roll Cake ($22.80) - (8.8/10) I was obsessed with this chiffon cake. These roll cakes are truly my childhood and I had to stop myself from eating the entire roll. Even though roasted seaweed and pork floss may seem STRANGE in a chiffon cake, the custard was a great balance to the light and FLUFFY cake. It's dangerous having this entire roll at home because I couldn't stop myself from eating it.

Yelp
4 stars for their mini cakes! Got their coconut sticky rice mini cake - super addictive. The textural contract with the cream, cake and sticky rice was so good. Delicious. Also got their matcha pandan mini cake which was also very tasty. A bit on the pricier side at $14 each but they are pretty tasty - I'd definitely come back to get their cakes again. Tried a few of their other baked goods but faves were definitely the mini cakes and the banh mi croissant. It was super filled with delicious cold cuts and so delicious!

Yelp
Hmm so this place was just alright . It's really cute with cutesy decor ! Very bright and cheerful atmosphere and good to try at least once . We got the pandan coconut mini cake . It tasted ok/good .. average-ish. The girl working there let us know it's very similar to the deserts she ate growing up as a child in Vietnam but fancier packaging . Very enticed by this so we decided to try and she wasn't kidding , it tasted like viet street food , the same kind you could prob get in China town for a quarter the price . At $14 before tax , price was steep and not sure if it's worth it . I'd probably go back to try everything once just to try it but after that , I'd probably won't return.

Yelp
This is one of the best Asian bakeries right now! This Vietnamese-owned bakery has two locations in the GTA. I was gifted a few of their items for Christmas and LOVED them: black sesame croissant, salted egg roll cake and scallion & cured meat roll cake. So when LA LA BAKERY came to Mississauga for Square One's Lunar New Year pop-up event - I *had* to swing by to pick up some goodies! Their team was very friendly and helpful. They even offered samples of their drinks - which is not available in-store. I fell in love with the Coconut Vietnamese Coffee and bought 2 bottles! I also got more salted egg roll cake slices. And then new-to-me items: Roasted seaweed roll cake, and the coconut sticky rice mini cake. The latter item was incredible! I ate it a day later but the texture was still intact and the sticky rice was shockingly light. And the flavour was on point. Even my friend who is not a "sweets person" wanted more!

Yelp
Wow, these desserts were so good! I was just visiting Toronto and my friend picked up some sweets from this modern Vietnamese bakery. These mini cakes were amazing. The matcha pandan was absolutely delightful. The Vietnamese coffee tiramisu had a kick to it. The durian was a star - had great flavor and even little chunks of it. The salted egg croissant was also delicious.
google avatar

Moni S.

Yelp
The black milk tea is sour, like it had gone bad in which I can't believe they are still selling it to the customers. The chocolate croissant is not at all fresh, taste like it's been in the fridge for days, it even has the smell of other products. I have a stomachache right after I had half of the egg cake, heavens I'm seriously concerned about the food security of this store.
google avatar

Yelp
This modern-Viet bakery offers QUALITY of bake goods! We kept the goodies overnight, and they are still really moist the next day! So IMPRESSED We got to try some of their specialties: Lava Salted Egg Bun - You can see how much filing they put in this bun!! So smooth, melt in your mouth Butter Garlic Bun - A strong garlic flavour with a super fluffy bun Banh Mi Croissnt - I love how they create a next level banh mi, I mean who doesn't love croissant! Look at those beautiful layers Roasted Seaweed & Salted Egg Roll Cake - filled with La La signature butter custard, topped with pork floss. They are so creamy & a nice combination of sweet & salty! Durian Mini Cake - DURIAN LOVERS!! you need to get your hands on this cake, they did not skimp on the fruit; I'm truly obsessed with this! Can't stop eating it This will be your favourite bakery in Annex! The staffs are super friendly as well. Can't wait go back asap!

Yelp
Not only is the shop adorable, but I enjoyed every tasty morsel I put in my mouth! I've never had Vietnamese baked goods, and I wanted to try something that I couldn't get where I currently live. So I opted for the lava salted egg bun. It was okey, gooey, messy and outstandingly delicious. Once I bit into the bun, I immediately knew why it was called "lava" bun and also understood why I was given a spoon. The inside custard was savory and sweet at the same time - honestly, a flavor sensation I've never tried before. I absolutely loved it. I made a complete mess of the counter where I ate (but I cleaned it up!), but I think that's testament to the fact that I was in a complete trance as I made my way through the pillowy bun and custardy center.

Yelp
Amazing quality cake all within a cute packaged container. Beautiful layers of pandan infused chiffon cake, coconut cream cheese sauce & sticky rice!! A genius creation with lots of unique desserts at this new Vietnamese inspired shop. Will definitely be back to try more items!

Yelp
The durian Supreme cake is a must try! As well as the coconut sticky rice cake! I recommend if you are ordering cakes order through the website first.

Yelp
Looks like this place is new and mainly focus in bakery using Vietnamese ingredient. Surprisingly, the items are quite good and they are not too sweet which is perfect for asian palette. Popular items sold out very quickly and today, salted egg lava bun and durian cake are sold out when I get there and it's only 3pm and they open on 1 pm today. :( I guess would need to go there earlier next time... I really wanted to try out lava salted egg We tried some items: Salted Egg Pork Floss roll cake - I like this and salt egg add quite a unique flavour to the roll and goes quite well with the pork floss. Quite good and something I never tried before. Vietnamese coffee Tiramisu- it's a good piece of tiramisu with nice coffee flavour, not sure if I tasted the Vietnamese coffee though but I like it. Pandanmisu- similar time Tiramisu, but instead coffee, the flavour is Pandan leaf according to the owner, not sure if I spelt it correctly. Taste quite different and unique flavour, Should try! The shop is nice and clean with simple decor and the owner are very friendly and I am sure you will love them. :) give it a try if u haven't .. Today, boy the line up was long .... Oh, we got too excited and ate almost everything before realizing I didn't take any picture ... except for the Pandanmisu.. oops... :)

Yelp
Very cute bakery along Bloor! Easily accessible as it is around the corner from Spadina subway station. The staff is extremely friendly and the display case of treats look picture perfect. I purchased a bun, a rolled cake and the coconut sticky rice cake. I love the rolled cake the best as it reminded me of the first time I tried it while travelling in Vietnam. I'm definitely coming back for more rolled cakes and also to try their Vietnamese coffee tiramisu which was sold out when I was there!

Yelp
Another Asian inspired bakery with unique desserts. They have flavours like salted egg yolk, pandan, durian etc. Staff was friendly and desserts were pretty good.

Yelp
Pastries were delicious! If you like pork floss buns you're in for a treat. The butter garlic bun was also delicious.

Yelp
We love their delicious cakes with the most innovative flavors. I liked their Banana Peanut Butter Mini Cake. it has delicious banana flavors similar to banana bread! There's lots of yummy creamy delicious banana inside! Their Avocado Mini Cake is soooo fragrant and creamy, similar to an avocado smoothie! I loved the texture, it was light and delicious. They always surprise me with their flavours, make sure to try them out as the Banana Peanut Butter Mini Cake is their current Fall seasonal special! The mini cakes are also quite filling and half a cake was the perfect amount for me.

Yelp
I love this place for The salted egg yolk pork floss bun, it's probably one of the best ones that I found. So much so that we've come downtown many times just to grab some buns. The pork floss is crumbly and has a moist flavor and The salted egg yolk filling is very generous which I love. I recommend eating it as is as opposed to having the warm it up because you can have that option where they'll just nuke it in the microwave for a bit. We tried this once and it made the bun soggy and the feeling way too hot. This was not enjoyable and I wouldn't do it again. We tried the cream cheese bun with pork floss, once, because the lady accidentally gave us the wrong one when we wanted The salted egg yolk bun. I'm not a fan of cream cheese so I did not enjoy this, I'm sure it would be good, if you enjoy cream cheese. I've also tried the durian cake box, which I love durian but this was not good. I was really excited to eat it, because I bought it for my birthday, but was disappointed with a subtle tart flavor, not sure if it was supposed to have the heat of sourness but or if it was going bad. I had also inquired if there was any cream cheese filling and they told me that there wasn't that's why I purchased it. I've pretty much tried all their salted egg yolk options, the sliced roll and the croissant as well, although both good, the salted egg yolk bun coated in pork floss is the best. I've also been meaning to try the hue sausage bun and the scallions slice roll, but it has been sold out, probably unlimited amount is made, daily. Overall 9 out of 10 would recommend.

Yelp
I was so excited when I heard of this Vietnamese bakery, esp coming from a viet background myself and they did not disappoint! I only tried the matcha pandan mini cake this time and it was so so delicious. I have no complaints, except I wish I got the bigger size! It wasn't too sweet and the cake was so fluffy. I am definitely coming back to try other flavours!

Yelp
Loved the Durian mini cake! Loved it!! Wasn't expecting much but the rich and fresh taste of durian was impeccable. Will be my go to for this craving. Can't wait to come back and try the other goods!

Yelp
The lady working was very nice and inviting, and recommended me the garlic cream cheese bun to try. I've had this bun before, and the one I got from here was just not up to par. Literally smaller than my palm for 6.50 (plus tax), and although the filling was nice and creamy, there was absolutely no garlic flavour to the thing. The bun was soft, but nothing special. I wouldn't go back to try other stuff, maybe it'll be better than what I had, but it's just too expensive to take the chance.

Yelp
Had the pandan match tiramisu cake, it's ok? The pandan part is not as fluffy as an actual pandan cake though. The tiramisu part is good.

Yelp
I got the roll cakes and the egg yolk buns ! They. Were. Amazing! I love this fusion, it's neither too sweet or too salty, it's perfect for me! I introduced it to my Vietnamese parents, apprehensive of how they'll take the taste, but they absolutely devoured it! Will deff become a regular!
