DJ-spun tunes & happy-hour deals keep patrons content at this longtime lounge.
"When: Daily until 9pm; Sun-Wed, 11pm until close; Thurs, 12am until close The Deal: Half-Off Everything Lots of East Village bars have a Happy Hour, but La Linea’s goes until 9pm every night. It can feel a bit cramped inside once the DJ takes over, but the deals here are some of the best in the neighborhood. If you stick around long enough, you can enjoy another Happy Hour that starts at 11pm Sunday through Wednesday (or 12am on Thursday)." - matt tervooren, bryan kim
"Ladina Bar feels like a step-up from your standard dive—it’s dark, with a relaxed and easy vibe, but the floors aren’t sticky and there aren’t any wobbly bar stools on their last legs. You’ll find a small beer and wine list, but you’re really here for the cocktails: they make a great Manhattan and an even better Naked and Famous. It’s open until 2am, so order one of each, wave to the person dancing enthusiastically to “Born In The USA” at the other end of the bar, and see where the night takes you." - Guillaume Guevara
"You could go for one or two more drinks, but you already have seven Venmo requests from your friends for drinks at previous bars, and you really don’t want to spend much more money. If you’re around the East Village, check out La Linea, which does half-off the whole bar from midnight-4am Sunday through Thursday." - matt tervooren
"La Linea is in a part of the East Village where just about every storefront has a chalkboard sign out front advertising drink specials. While most of these faded chalk doodles say that Happy Hour ends at 7 or 8pm, La Linea’s goes until 9 every night. It can feel a bit cramped inside once DJs take over, but the Happy Hour deal (half-off everything) is one of the best in the neighborhood." - Matt Tervooren
