"BorraCho Tacos is set to open at 42 South Broadway on October 3; it’s Symensma’s latest endeavor, already located inside Avanti F&B. BorraCho will bring chef Kevin Chu’s current Avanti menu to South Broadway and expand on it. Customers can expect tacos with shredded short rib, queso, sweet onions, and pickled chili; and tacos with shrimp satay, sriracha mayo, mint, radish, and avocado. First time visiting La Loteria oh my goodness this place is to dye for! The minute you walk in you’re greeted by such a warm beautiful welcome. The food is absolutely delicious, the micheladas are out of this world! The owner Edgar is awesome, literally makes you feel like family. I highly recommend coming down to check out this restaurant you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much again Edgar to you and your beautiful family. May God continue to bless your business with growth.

Came all the way from TN cheese dip on point. Amazing taco had the fish and shrimp myself. The fish was strong fish taste but good. The shrimp was really good. Husband liked his food as well

This place is an absolute must for Mexican if you're in the Denver area. The owner was wonderful with great service and a smile. He went out of his way to be friendly and make you feel like family. The food was delicious, the freshest steak I've had in a taco, and I saw my tortilla being hand made behind the counter. My parents got Jalapeño margaritas and described them as the freshest and most refreshing drinks they've had. Truly an experience you do not want to miss out on!

Google
You have to order before sitting down to eat fast casual style but food came out so quickly. The place is small but well decorated and has a good atmosphere. I tried the birria tacos, which were in my opinion very small and the meat was salty. The nachos were much better. A little pricey

Google
Food was good but not authentic Mexican . It’s a small place seating for big parties will be difficult. The customer service was not that great idk I had more expectations from recommendations on tik tok. I wouldn’t go back. The are was nice tho to walk around as it was snowing

Google
La Loteria Mexican restaurant offers counter service and delivers your meal to your table. It's a pleasant experience.

So this place is right next door to pie hole. Another fantastic spot. The chips are warmed & served with fresh salsa the street tacos are amazing especially when combined with there house blend sauces. Wonderful service & quaint and authentic atmosphere give them taste

Google
Very solid Mexican in the Denver area. The California Burrito came with green chile and was one of the better, and larger, Cali burritos I've had in the city. The fried Avocado and crispy Baja fish tacos were really enjoyable - came with a nice mango habenero salsa. Good quality tortillas. The chips and salsa weren't much to write home about, especially for $6. The red house salsa had a really great kick that took everything up a notch. Glad to have this spot in our neighborhood. We will be back!

Yelp
Tasty and cheap tacos, (especially the al pastor on Tuesdays), enchiladas, churros, and breakfast, which they serve until 3 on weekends! I've had almost everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Their drinks are excellent and fairly priced. The daily specials and happy hour deals make this place even more appealing. A friend and I came for taco Tuesday about while ago and we didn't pay attention to the cost, then later before we were finished eating, the manager came over to say the new person who rang us up didn't price the tacos correctly and offered us some drinks and churros to make up for it. They definitely could've gotten away with it, but chose to be honest and upstanding about it instead! There is usually plenty of seating but the bar and tables can fill up especially around dinner time, but people usually don't stay too long. It can be a little loud, but this is my favorite fast casual spot in the area by far. The only thing to be aware of is they include an 18% service charge even though all they do is bring your food out, but the prices are still very reasonable.

Yelp
This place has a really inefficient area for waiting in line . The setup is not great so you're constantly moving out of the way as people walk past. Guac was good. Salsa was alright. Red hot sauce was medium spicy, green one didn't have much flavor. Shrimp taco was not great. Good crunch factor but that was the only highlight. Goat taco was way too wet and mushy for me Carne asada was OK. A bit dry. Nice employees tho but I'll get my tacos elsewhere unfortunately

Yelp
I came here for the first time while visiting some friends in Colorado. Super cute place! Great for pictures. Food was pretty good. Real authentic food. While traveling to different places I find it hard to find authentic Mexican food. So I was impressed. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. You have to order at the front and they bring you your food to your seat. Just be ready for the 18% service charge already included in every bill.

Yelp
The service is always top-notch when I've been here (third time). My daughter ordered seconds on the tacos de Al Pastor; which she never does. The birria is my favorite. I'll continue to come back when I'm in this part of town.

Yelp
Fun place to stop for a quick drink and snack. Service was super fast, friendly, and up front about the automatic gratuity. Chips and salsa were a plentiful portion and the house margarita was good. Definitely a friendly place to stop by when on Broadway.

Yelp
We were told the food here was delicious..,well let me just say that it's a really cool ambience. Loved the Loteria vibe! Michelada was decent. Food was over priced for mediocre tasting food. Mexicans do not eat white rice and black beans...at least not any that I've had. Asked for no Cotija, got it on my food anyways. Food was expensive and they add in a "tip" but they call it something different and aren't transparent about it being added. Sorry but very disappointed with the food. Enchiladas sauce was nasty tasted like Las Palmas but worse, very bitter. And carne asada was tough, over cooked and just not good at all. Definitely not a do-over for me. I have come to terms with good Mexican food and Colorado do not go together. I see lots of great reviews, but I'm Mexican so my expectations are higher than some.

Yelp
This was my first visit to La Loteria Taqueria. When you enter you order right at the counter. We got chips, salsa, and guacamole as an app and my friend got tacos and I got enchiladas queso verdes. The food arrived fast. I was not prepared for how large of a dish the enchiladas are. They were not traditional enchiladas it was almost like a quesadilla with chicken, avocado, and cream on top. It was delicious and I asked for the verde and pico on the side and I am glad I did. The verde salsa was bold in flavor and tangy but also spicy which was have over powered the other elements. I would love to try the Margarita and tacos next time.

Yelp
i had the most delicious torta and tacos here! this place has a great bar and plays good music. the employees are very attentive, bilingual, and friendly. highly recommend for a date night or a night out with friends :)

Yelp
Second time coming here this week. Just noticed that there's an EXTRA tip menu that you MUST decline. Otherwise, it's the automatic 18% plus another 3%. Tricky. They do explain the initial 18%. But then they flip the screen toward you and you are faced with another tip screen. I didn't want to press "no tip" for fear of erasing the initial 18%. So I just signed and pressed next both times. And later did I realize that they automatically added another 3% tip to the bill. I don't care if they wanted to charge automatic 20% tip, which I would've given anyway. But, this is cheating/scamming unsuspecting customers. And it's not a full sit down restaurant. You order at the counter, have your food brought you, get your own drinks, and bus your own table. The food was great. Just beware of this scammy tip practice. God, our tipping culture is OUT OF CONTROL!!

Yelp
I had three carne asada tacos and an order of chips and salsa with guacamole. Everything tasted great, and the portion size was perfect. The thing I liked the most, gratuity was included. I wish more restaurants would just include the gratuity which means actually paying the staff. Dining room was clean and well appointed. I ate a loan so I sat at the bar. Very comfortable. I'm not a sports fan, but if you are there was an enormous TV with football.

Yelp
Most amazing tacos in denver!! The staff is also extremely kind and the atmosphere is wonderful! We got way too much food but we couldn't stop ourselves from trying a couple things! Can't wait to go back for a drink sometime.

Yelp
La Loteria is the Mexican bingo game! It's all over their walls! This was a chill spot for a quick dinner in the area. Parking is free for two hours on the streets on weekends. There might be some parking in the more residential areas a block away. There are also lots where you can pay for parking. Enchiladas with carne asada and green sauce - I didn't actually eat this but my friend said it was bomb. Breakfast burrito - $1 off on Sundays. Very filling! Birria taco - so good. Margarita - good for the price. We weren't even that hungry but the food was so good. I'd come back. They have other daily specials, like ~Taco Tuesdays ~ When you walk in, you order at the register, then find your seats. Your food will be brought to you. The menu is on the wall behind the register. They do have restrooms in the back.
google avatar

Angelique C.

Yelp
This place was really good. We had pastor tacos. You can make one taco into two easily. Definitely stop by on taco Tuesday they have $2 pastor tacos. The queso fundido was good as well. The margarita was okay, nothing special.

Yelp
A taste of Mexico!! Quick and friendly service. I Would highly recommend the carne asada fries, they were delicious! I will definitely be coming back here.
google avatar

Olivia G.

Yelp
YUMMMMY birria tacos! Such juicy, tender goat meat, with cheese on a corn tortilla. $5 each for a pretty small taco is the only downside. But loved it
google avatar

Yelp
La Loteria deserves a solid five stars! The food is outstanding; we tried the tacos, burrito, queso with nachos, and each dish was a flavorful delight. The service was impeccable, providing a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. If you're looking for a quick and delicious eatery in Denver, Colorado, La Loteria is the perfect choice. From the diverse menu to the tasty drinks, it's a culinary gem that delivers on both taste and efficiency. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Ok here me out.. I walked in and immediately was like meh, cause I was starving and wanted a dinner. I wasn't in the mood for tacos BUTTTT honestly, this was probably the best surprise I have ever had. The food was incredible!!! The margaritas were even better!!! I was so shocked at how looks can be deceiving that this might be my new favorite restaurant in denver. Warning- the cheese skillet is straight up cheese, not queso so be prepared to get stuffed really quickly. 1 million stars all day!!

Yelp
Loved coming here for a quick bite! For a smaller restaurant, they had tons of bar and high top seating as well as normal seating. Enjoyed the breading on both my crispy baja and crispy camarones tacos as well. Don't sleep on the sauces they bring you either! The red hot sauce had a great kick and the green sauce was the perfect sauce for any taco. Plus their tortilla chips were fresh, salty, and crispy - exactly what you'd want in a chip. Would recommend coming out here while you're walking around Broadway or just because!

Yelp
Confusing entry. You must order standing right there at the door from the menus on the wall. Blaring loud music chopping off and on the entire time was annoying. So make your selections and grab a seat if there's one available. They'll find you and bring your order. It was very cold inside and on the darker side of places, but I was able to get a table. It took a while to get our drinks but we were given the chips and salsa and guacamole tray immediately. The food was actually pretty decent, but I would not say they were generous with anything. You pay for what you want. My skinny margarita wasn't bad but it was teeny tiny. Our tacos arrived on corn tortillas much smaller than normal but loaded with meat. It was awkward to eat but was pretty dang tasty. Their squeeze bottled salsas were chili hot or smooth green mild but neither were noteworthy.

Yelp
"It's my first time, what would make me want to come back?" The cashier, without hesitation, "The tacos. Any of them." The AL PASTOR and the CRISPY CAMARONES were dynamite! Mighty in flavor with every bite, I'm looking forward to having them again. I'd also like to try the BIRRIA or BARBACOA tacos. My friends gave them rave reviews. With that said, it was still my first time (so of course) I went rogue on a few other items. The CHIHUAHUA FUNDIDO for an appetizer was massive and great if you are trying to feed an army, however, it did lack flavor for me. I thought the addition of chorizo would add to it, but it still came up short. It could have just been an off night for it, as I've read others really like it. Next time, I'll opt for chips and salsa or guac. My husband ordered the #13 CALIFORNIA BURRITO for his main meal and absolutely loved it. It was ginormous. Truly, colossal and smothered in green chili. It made my 6'5'' man very happy, lol. :D Long story short, I can confidently say the cashier was 100% right! The tacos are a VIBE that will bring you back. They easily have some of the BEST TACOS I've had in Denver, end of story.

Yelp
there's a reason i crave this place on a weekly basis... my go-to meal: 1) carne asada taco 2) fried avocado taco 3) elote 4) casa marg (or any marg really) the chipotle crema with lime, cotija, and tajin makes me wanna lick my plate and my friend's. i know it's weird to pay so much for corn on the cob but i'll do it happily here. also love a window seat on broadway
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
So, if you're wanting a salad...don't go here unless you want to order a "bowl" but it acts as a salad. Otherwise, the food is divine here. The breakfast burrito was packed full of yummy eggs and chorizo drenched in a mild green pork Chile. The enchiladas verde was good but not as good as the red enchiladas. The red sauce has more spices to it so the flavor is a bomb (in the best way possible) if you like more of a kick. Cheers to a great, small feast!

Milahnie P.

Yelp
Great service, it was quick and the servers were friendly. The restaurant has a nice ambience. I would highly recommend!
google avatar

Amalia V.

Yelp
The elote is the best I've found in Denver - I will definitely be returning! Queso fundido was huge and delicious. Great TVs to watch sports as well! Service was also great as they checked in with us multiple times. I will be back to try other menu items!
google avatar

Diana W.

Yelp
I'm a Tex mex fan and this place was delish. It kept popping up on my insta feed so I had to check it out. Spicy margarita was spicy all right. We got a ton of items: nachos were made with the thin tortilla chips so each bite felt loaded with cheese and toppings. Carne asada fries were huge and yummy as well. The tacos I got (carna asada and barbacoa) were good but I was expecting more flavors or bigger size since the appetizers were huge. Dont forget to try the mushroom queso too! Delicious
google avatar

Melissa A.

Yelp
To expensive! Birria tacos are not good. Just not my cup of tea. Mexican corn was okay! I wouldn't return.

Vionett A.

Yelp
These are THE BEST tacos I have ever had EVER. I like to think of myself as a taco connoisseur, I even had a taco truck at my wedding. I'm from Florida but have tried tacos everywhere but THESE ARE THE BEST! Service was great too! My husband and I are PISSED cause we aren't from here and can't come back as regulars.
google avatar

Steven E.

Yelp
Food was good, drinks were better... carne asada fries were on point! They give you red and green sauce for your meals.. order when you come in and they seat you from there.. would recommend and return in the future.
google avatar

Kyle D.

Yelp
One of maybe two places in Denver where you can get a solid Cali burrito. While not on the level of Carreras, it's a good option if you're tryna stay closer to the city. Verdict...doesn't suck. I'd prolly give it like a 3.8 outta 5
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on a Sunday evening and enjoyed their vegetarian options and elote! The chips, salsa and guac were nothing special but still tasty. The guac had some seasoning but enough in my opinion. I enjoyed the fried avocado taco and fried shrimp taco. The shrimp taco had plenty of shrimp! My favorite item was the elote which was wonderfully seasoned! I look forward to visiting again to try their breakfast items and margs!
google avatar

Vincent S.

Yelp
The ambience is very nice. Good music and colorful walls. I had the carne asada tacos and el pastor. They had flavor and comes with a lime to squeeze. I had some of my nieces California burrito and it was flavorful. Not greasy or heavy. A very large burrito. You might want to split it. The jalapeño margarita was a classic and has a some heat! The service was top notch. They were polite and very descriptive of the items on the menu. The speedy service was great too. We didn't wait long for our food. Overall, I'm definitely coming back. I had a group of 5 and it was perfect.

Schiara T.

Yelp
Lemme tell you, I love me some tacos. I'm always a little pessimistic when it comes to trying Al Pastor tacos at different places because some places don't have that touch. I didn't have my hopes high because I was also a little worried it was white washed Mexican food... When I say these Al Pastor tacos are HEAVENLY, I mean it. Marinated so well, the meat is juicy never dry, and that green salsa *chiefs kiss. We always get the elote too and that is just as good as the tacos. We love this place, it's our go to for date night. The music isn't loud, the aesthetic is perfect, the staff is so nice and on top of things, and the food is quick! Also we tried to volcán de maíz last night and it was delicious!

Yelp
After scrolling through tik tok for a little bit we saw advertising for this awesome little taco spot in denver. I loved the vibes of this place, both the waitress and owner were awesome and we loved laughing with them. Their energy definitely made the experience better not to mention the amazing food. Chips and Guac were delicious but the real star was the tacos and that they were. I got the birria taco and the al pastor taco and when i tell you they were both equally as amazing it's an understatement. These were the best tacos i have had in a while and they were absolutely delicious. A great experience and a fun place to check out while here in denver especially if you love good food.

Kira V.

Yelp
So good!! I like the fast casual feel of this restaurant and everything is packed with flavor. Service has always been great and the food does not miss. The burrito is HUGE. Great value and I always get enchiladas. They have great weekly deals too.
google avatar

Ana R.

Yelp
Found this spot and the asthenic, amazing. Loved the Elote and queso dip. The tacos were ok but the salsa elevated the dish. 100% recommend. Husband enjoyed it too.
google avatar

John F.

Yelp
Let's start with the salsas. All are delicious. No chunky tomatoes or peppers. Nice and smooth and range from mild to hot. I got the enchiladas, they were awesome. Different from most Mexican joints, just different...and I liked that. Food was delicious, so I will be back. Sorry for the quick review but I'm still eating and loving it!
google avatar

Austin K.

Yelp
18% service charge automatically charged. Birria and Tinga de pollo tacos for $5 and $4 each. They were both excellent. The first uses goat meat and the tortilla was slightly crispy which I appreciated, with a flavorful consome. The tinga had crispy tortillas which is why I got it but in reality, it ended up breaking and became very messy. Still good, but would opt for another taco since it seems like the regular ones already have some crisp to it.
google avatar

Virginia G.

Yelp
Here is where we start the food adventure! First stop was la loteria in Denver, I was excited to find this gem searching through TikTok and we can understand why. I mean look at that cheese pull from the Chihuahua queso The queso was nothing to write home about, it had the perfect consistency but lacked depth. It tasted as it was named Chihuahua cheese, nothing more nothing less. True star of the meal believe it or not was the Pollo Tacos. Not something I ever expected given the true complexity of creating a juicy, well done, properly seasoned piece of chicken. I paired the taco with the dark rich, spicer sauce in the rotation and was ecstatic At a steep price of $5 a taco, I would recommend a cute place for people to watch and grab a quick bite. laa·tuh·ree·uh

Yelp
not authentic at all!!! our quest was nacho cheese!! disgusting!!! never will go back

Erin W.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our food and drinks! The strawberry mojito was delicious, and I couldn't stop raving about the elote corn and fried avocado tacos. Everything tasted so good and fresh. Great vegetarian options. Service was good and quick. If we weren't from out of town, this would be in our normal rotation for sure. So good!
google avatar

Grecia P.

Yelp
I love Lotería! The tacos and drinks are delicious. The chihuaha fundido is a must-try but it is A LOT of cheese so it's probably better to try with multiple people (more than 2 lol). My favorite tacos are the chicken tinga and baja. You order at the front, so make sure you know what you want to order (food + drinks) so you don't end up standing in line a couple times like we did. Otherwise it wasn't difficult to snag a table at dinner time and everyone who works here is super friendly!
google avatar

Zenmaster S.

Yelp
Amazing food, good quality and wondering people! They are worth the visit and trying out everything on the menu is a dream of mine
google avatar

Angela E.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and good food. Not very authentic- somewhat Americanized. The owner/manager was super nice. I felt it was pretty expensive for lunch. 2 bottles of soda, nachos and 2 tacos was $45.

Jason D.

Yelp
Upon walking in, it was a loud bar vibe and their menu is right when you walk in. Your standard South Broadway hipster gave a us a fairly unwelcoming greeting asking what we want, and never being there before I had to say it might be a second to look at menu. She went away for a about a minute and came back and was about to take the order for the people who walked in after us and I was like "yeah, that's great. We're ready!" She then takes our order and says the total and then says, "oh and we add 18% gratuity automatically " I asked her to repeat that and then said "That's America!" Food was bar food grade at best. Service Sucked. And we had to ask for the chips and salsa that we ordered. One Star Not going back. Typical South Broadway trash.

Hannah M.

Yelp
This place has terrible service. The cashier and waitress were both so short with us and rude. They weren't listening either. My friend and I asked to pay separate and they billed us together and were annoyed when we asked for it to be separated. When our food came out I said "I ordered side of rice and beans" and the server cut me off mid sentence and said "yeah it's coming". They charge an 18% service charge and then glare at you if you decide not to tip even though there is no service. We order at the counter, find our own seat, and get our own drinks. The food is ok but I would pass for the bad experience

Evelyn A.

Yelp
EXCELLENT food/service ; very friendly atmosphere! . Parking is a commodity, but once inside the restaurant, all is GREAT. I had enchiladas roja....my friend had enchiladas verde...
google avatar

Mayra N.

Yelp
The food is authentic and delicious. The taco meat melts in your mouth. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Clean. The frozen drinks are amazing.
google avatar

Irene Z.

Yelp
Great customer service. The food was five stars beside the chicken tacos. I wasn't a big fan of them.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Mexican restaurant in the Baker neighborhood, among the many restaurants and bars on Broadway. The food here is some of the better Mexican food offered in Denver. My favorite items are the California burrito and solo nachos with carne asada. Both of these are meals to be eaten fresh- they do not reheat well. The salsas are tasty, especially the orange one that is very spicy. In the evenings and nights, it feels much more like a bar/club with how loud it is (both music and customers). It's not somewhere to meet up with an old friend because you won't be able to hear each other talk without yelling. Tip: The restaurant automatically adds a 18% service fee to all checks.
