We have visited La Margarita many times over the years and have never been disappointed. Staff is awesome and food is constantly on point and delicious. If I had to say one thing, it would be that the charro beans need more flavor. More onion and cilantro. Otherwise, we loved our meal!

Google
Safe bet for your Tex Mex favorites. I had the lunch special chicken fajitas. The portion was nice for the price. The chicken itself was good, but needed some more spices or to be marinated. Salsa was decent. The rice and beans were pretty standard. Overall a good option for something on this side of town, but not a meal I would travel across town for.

I rented out the party room for $25 dollars an hour for two hours for a party of 17 which it was big enough with a patio. The food was decent. The service was fast. The only issue I had was as soon as we paid the bill. No one ever came to check on use for refills or if we needed anything TOGO Management never came by once or anything it was a little different from other places that I have rened party rooms from.

Chunky guac wad indeed chunky guac. we thought it was good. Salsa was pretty good too! I especially enjoyed mixing the salsa guac. And lime! Thats was where it was at! Margaritas were good too just a bit over priced for basic syrup bare minimal alcohol. Moving on to entrees. We ordered fajitas for two steak chicken and shrimp. We got just steak! And quite a bit. So when we asked our server about the other 2 meats she brought me 2 baby bowls of VERY LITTLE CHICKEN AND SHRIMP! All the meats were super tender just not flavorful. Even the tortillas server got wrong. We asked for corn and we got flour. I will admit they were good! Kids got chicken flautas those were super large and pretty good. Rice was good and beans were meh. It was our first visit here and idk it just wasnt an omg! We must come back. For us, what made our experience was a balloon character making lady! She was amazing and talented!

Google
Wonderful greeting and clean, very clean tables. Our waitress was very patient with us, and was very attentive. The food was delicious, and it was very Mexican authentic. I thought I was at my grandma’s having supper. Food was that delicious.

Google
I grew up eating here and I love the food so my opinion may be a bit biased. However, the food has always been excellent and the service outstanding. The salsa is really fresh and the queso always great. The tortillas are freshly made every day and authentic. If you can please give La Margarita a try, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars!

Google
The waitress was very nice and helpful. The food was delicious too.

Google
Ordered the chicken fajitas and they came out light warm- room temperature. Asked the manager and he said they have the chicken pre prepared and when order comes in they throw it back on the grill to warm up. The fajita vegetables were also room temp. Hot plate was just warm. If a restaurant is charging $25 for a dish at least serve fresh hot food. This was around 6:30 pm so not even late in the day. Sorry but will not be returning here.

Yelp
I came here Tuesday night for dinner with my husband. The food was amazing. They customized chicken enchiladas for me by removing all the cheese. They also gave me a Topo Chico, which I absolutely love. My husband had fajitas and they were amazing. Also had a fabulous frozen strawberry margarita that he enjoyed very much. We also had a bowl of their chunky guacamole, which is absolutely fabulous. There is seating in both the restaurant area and the bar area. The bar area has TVs. The restaurant area is quieter traditional Mexican restaurant. Both sides are good. We ate on the bar side, which felt a little more festive. There was a balloon artist named Raz Berry, who makes balloon animals or anything you want him to make with a balloon. He was absolutely amazing. He is the best balloon artist I've ever seen. It made my night a little more festive, having a balloon dog made for myself.. I'm going to come back with my granddaughter and get her one, it is so fun. The balloons are made for tips only. When you get a balloon, please tip generously, because making somebody's night special is a good thing! I absolutely love this restaurant. I highly recommend you visit.

Yelp
Came here for an earlier Saturday dinner a couple weeks ago. My boyfriend and I each ordered a margarita- me a large house frozen and him a regular mango frozen. When our drinks came- I got a small rocks and him a small regular. It took forever for me to flag the waiter down and explain that our drinks were entirely wrong, and he kept insisting it was not and didn't seem to understand what I wanted to order. We then asked for a few more minutes to order and then...crickets. There were a couple people at the bar the waiter knew and for the rest of the night it was pretty much impossible to get him to pay us any attention. Then to top it off- he left the incorrect drinks on the bill! Service was severely lacking. We ordered chips and queso, my boyfriend got one of the combination platters and I got the chile relleño. Both plates were MASSIVE in terms of person. I really enjoyed my chile- the rice was not hot and kinda hard and unseasoned. My boyfriend said he enjoyed his. There are dozens of Mexican places like this in the greater Austin area and I've had better experiences and food at a lot so, it'll take a lot for me to return.

Yelp
I moved to Texas 3 years ago and have been searching high and low for good Mexican food and a good Margarita. I found both at this restaurant. I loved the salsa, not too spicy and the chips were thin, just as I like them. Food was good. Not covered in cheese like so many places. The Margaritas were very good. Although this place is about a 35 minute drive I will be back.

Yelp
We have been VERY long time customers of La Margarita since they opened back in the late 1980's. However, Tuesday night 6/25/2024 the food, drinks and the atmosphere for our party of over 30 hit a home run! We had beef/chicken fajitas for the party & they all came out GREAT! However, the service.... it was OUTSTANDING! Our waitress, DAISY was AMAZING! She hustled for the drinks, the food & had a smile & was so polite to everyone! There was another lady helping her, but I did not get her name that was awesome too! So, if it is you by yourself, a few folks or a party of 30+ then please check out La Margarita in Round Rock, Texas! This is NOT a chain restaurant. Support local businesses whenever you can! Yelp
Great food! Good prices! Great service! What more can you really expect. The facility is older but has a charming layout. It is large enough for parties with plenty of parking. There is a bar and even outdoor dining. I had the La Margarita Salad. It was fresh, and the fajita chicken was nicely spiced. Delicious! There are many other options on the menu that I expect are just as delicious. Merry Christmas!

Yelp
To start we got to sit outside and it was nice. Before we sat out side we checked out the restaurant and it had good decor. Service is really good and brought us what we needed quickly. They had some good looking plants and had ok music. Now the food. The chicken fingers were bigger than my head almost.

Yelp
GREAT SERVICE AWESOME FOOD one of the best restaurants in liberty Hill. The owner is an amazing guy. I try to go there every time I'm in liberty Hill.

Yelp
Stopped by here for dinner and was glad we did. This is a clean place with a nice ambience and great customer service. The food is really good here also. I had my usual "go to" dish, Cheese Enchiladas with Green sauce. The green sauce was tangy and fresh. The enchiladas warm, cheesy and gooey yummy yum. The Hubby had the Street tacos without Cilantro - which they left out as asked. He enjoyed these a lot. There was a green sauce that came out with them that was really delicious. The rice and beans were good. The chips and salsa fresh. The service was good. We will be back.

Yelp
Absolutely a must try establishment. Very nice interior and our waiter was attentive. My man crush couldn't decide between the shrimp tacos or fish tacos. He asked if he could get one of each and that request was allowed. Both tacos were so good! My sister ordered the caldo de res. I asked if they had caldo de pollo and they did not. Bummer. I ordered the caldo de res and it was very good!! Lots of chunky veggies. My bowl definitely had more meat than my sister's. I ended up giving her some of my meat as I had a lot. Caldo came with rice which was yummy. Chips and salsa were good but I prefer a tad more heat in my salsa. We plan on going again to try the margaritas! I wish they had sopapillas as a dessert choice but what they offered sounded good. We were just too full to try anything.

Yelp
My dining experience was for mid week lunch. Took a little bit for someone to realize we were standing in the lobby (1130ish) Once we were noticed, we were seated properly, and our drinkdrink order was taken. It took us a few minutes to decide what we wanted to eat, but when we finally did, it was the third different white person, but finally took our order... Chips and salsa were average, did not appear to be fresh. Folsom and the chips were borderlines stale. The enchiladas were nothing special and buried in a mountain of cheese sauce. My dining companion had a couple of tacos, and the low budget review was they were nothing special, as well. The interior was clean and well-maintained. They had both booth and table seating, with pleasant spacing between everybody. Overall, Average food, OK service, nothing special. There's a lot of competition out there, especially in the Tex-Mex arena - probably need to come back and check out their margaritas, but given their performance in the other areas, I'm not overly optimistic

Yelp
I was invited here for a birthday dinner. I was not excited because I had been here before and was not impressed! But this time was quite the opposite. So much so that I came back two days later! I order the shrimp fajitas and an Al pastor tacos. I came back n ordered an Al pastor quesadilla which was not even on the menu but they happily. Made it for me! Service, price and ambiance was normal. I will be back soon

Yelp
Decent Tex Mex for a decent price. They serve huge portions here as well as complimentary chips and salsa. So you're definitely leaving here stuffed to the gills. My only complaint is that some dishes are a little bland, but then some dishes are extremely salty. I've tried out the burritos, enchiladas, Chile relleno, Changa, chalupa, and even the kid's burgers. Everything is more than edible, but I think that due to the large menu and very large occupancy rate, the food is never consistent. Overall, because of the fair pricing, huge portions, and good service, it's still worth visiting.

Yelp
We have been coming here for brunch for 20 years. Miya's con queso with a side of bacon and extra flour tortillas are the standard. Bloody Mary special is a bonus on a great drink. We will always be back. The lunch and dinner menu never disappoints.

Yelp
Pretty good Tex Mex food. I miss morelia's which was on Hester's Crossing and closed down during covid.

Yelp
Everything great here- inviting, warm atmosphere- seating for every vibe you want to have (lunch) and I'd say a great date night. Music upbeat, good frozen margaritas, lunch specials, food bold and full of FLAVOR and salsa wonderfully fresh. Service impeccable. Only critiques: salsa could be a tad bit warmer and the two tostada lunch special could have been one tostada with just melted cheese and jalapeños and/or one cold tostada with guacamole and lettuce/tomato although they did say I could switch out whatever I wanted. Bravo!

Yelp
I have been eating here for at least 20 years, perhaps closer to 30. The chips, my friends, are where it's at. Not to mention there is a lady hand-pressing tortillas in the front of the shop for your culinary pleasure and entertainment in general. My mom and I split the combo fajitas for two and it was plentiful with leftovers. I think I may have liked the chicken slightly more than the steak (it was both charred and juicy) but the flank steak was also a delight. I will say my dad got a dirty martini that was instead with a twist (so lemon instead of olive juice) and he was not delighted, but we are firmly Midwest Nice and do not send stuff back. I got a $3 weekend special mimosa which was just fine, exactly what I expected for $3. The service is fast and friendly, and I love all the decor touches that I am confident have been there since I was a wee lass.

Yelp
Always great!! Been going here since I was a baby. Great specials during the week too

Yelp
Reviewing after first visit. After years of driving by we finally stopped in to check it out. It's a locally owned restaurant not a chain. Tried their Saturday brunch. The hubs had the fajita and eggs plate. Lots of food! I ordered the Barbacoa taco and it was delicious! We washed it down with a Bloody Mary & a tequila sunrise. The service was excellent so 5 stars. See pics.

Yelp
Been coming here since 1991. This used to be the place with the best fajitas and best charro beans. Today we ordered beef fajitas for two with charro beans. I think they must have changed their recipe as the beans were nit good at all and the fajita meat had no flavor. Now we have zero reasons to go back. Very sad indeed. Been a part of our lives for so long. Not sure what changed but it was nit a good change. The wait staff if fantastic. They seemed to have changed the interior a little. Not sure if that was good or bad.. .

Walt S.

Yelp
Took my mom here for her birthday, because it's her favorite place. I had a chilli relleno that was stuffed with shredded chicken, which was a first. It was really good, sauce was great. Chicken quesadilla was really good, shrimp enchiladas were really good. Salsa is really good, but if you like a little more heat, ask for the green salsa. Service was excellent. Well definitely be back

Yelp
One of the worst Tex Mex experiences I've had in a while. My friend and I went last night and were the only young Hispanic/Latino people in the room other than the servers, which should have been the first sign to run lol. We asked to be sat at a booth instead of a table. We waited a while and a waitress never came to greet us. There was an older couple that had been sat at their table after us who one waitress was going to greet first. The waitress's name was Jessica E, according to my receipt. We had to get her attention to let her know that we hadn't seen a waiter yet, either. When she approached the table, she said "sorry guys, I didn't know they'd double booked me." So clearly the communication between the hostesses and waitresses was lacking. But this comment was unprofessional as it makes the restaurant look bad. Instead of saying "sorry," a better approach would be "thanks so much for waiting!" We went ahead and ordered all of our food the second she got to our table. I ordered the $5.95 margarita martini special and even pointed at the happy hour menu to confirm. My friend chimed in and asked if they had any marg flavors. She said, we have mango, it costs extra, but I'll still bring it out for you guys. She made it seem like we were going to be charged the happy hour price. But at the end of the night, we were charged full price. When we asked the waitress, she got defensive and didn't remember having told us this. At that point, we just paid the higher price and called it a night lol. But yet another sign of incompetence from the staff here. The food was sub-par at best. We got the $12 loaded queso fiesta. Cheese was a bright yellow, which is a red flag. I grew up on velveeta cheese, and this tasted very similar. My friend got enchiladas with a crunchy taco on the side. That chicken was okay, but tastes like someone threw it into a crockpot and only put minimal spices lol. It was also stringy and hard to chew. My chicken fajita quesadilla tasted off and was so bad I stopped eating and we had to ask for a refund. Which we did get. But I've tasted better pre-cooked, pre-sliced frozen chicken at home. This was a completely different chicken from what my friend got, which is how we knew the difference. My chicken did not taste fresh at all. The waitress was super understanding about my quesadillas, but she did say the manager was going to come out and talk to us-- which he never did. We really were not interested in speaking with the manager, there was nothing else to say. But if you tell us the manager is coming to speak with us, again, that is what should happen lol. If it's a packed night and he can't come see us, we totally understand. Just maybe don't offer that to us LOL. I will leave the reader to come to their own conclusions as to why we were given worse service from every table around us. I'm not sure if the waitress was new, it was a lack of training, etc. I feel we remained calm and respectful to the waitress despite our experience here. But service aside, the food was still not great. I would only recommend this place for the salsa, which was delicious!! And the happy hour drinks lol. With so many other great Tex Mex spots out there, my money would have been better spent literally anywhere else, even at Taco Bell. And since I see the owner Eli comments on every post, I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yelp
I can't think of a single time we've eaten here and the food not being excellent. I was going to say that the star of the show here is their fajita beef but honestly, everything is so well executed that I think the entire menu is worthy of trying. If you enjoy spice, their green salsa is very spicy and delicious. Their chips are excellent and their flour tortillas are made in front of your eyes. I haven't had better tortillas anywhere in the world. I usually try to remember to order a dozen to go because they make the best quesadillas at home. Their kids menu is very high-quality. Our 10 year old almost never wants to order anything off of a kids menu because it's not tasty but their kids menu is just a smaller portion of their adult menu and even then it is plenty of food for a child if not an adult. The service is consistently good and you can tell that they take great pride in their quality. Their beef just stands out ahead of the pack in every way. People talk about Lupe tortillas fajitas but I think these are consistently better. They get bonus points for a wonderful breakfast menu and multiple outdoor seating areas. It's helpful to those of us who aren't comfortable eating indoors just yet. I just posted updated pictures of their menu and their kids menu because I noticed most of the photos from Yelp were outdated. If you find my reviewer photos helpful, please like them!

Yelp
Went for breakfast today 05/20/23 and had breakfast tacos. I will say that the flour tortillas were good as was the service, however the food was average. We had one bacon, egg and bean; one potato, egg and bacon and one barbacoa. All on flour. The potato and egg wasn't mixed it was scrambled egg with a few potatoes on top. The bacon was greasy and limp. The refried beans were bland and runny. Barbacoa was greasy, not fresh and crunchy like it had been heated up in the microwave. If you have other choices I was skip this place at least for breakfast. Had the green and red sauce and they were not spicy at all, very mild. Coffee was good. I left the barbacoa taco unfinished if that's says anything.

Yelp
Came here with my girlfriend after a flight from Chicago and MAN, did this place hit the spot! As soon as you walk in you can see a person working a flat-top in a kitchen-island-style station cooking tortillas. Pretty cool and stylish! The host took us past a room full of people and into a room full of empty tables which was much appreciated after being stuck on a plane. Our server came by and told us about happy hour margaritas for $4 which sounded great and tasted delicious. The menu had a lot of options so we were a little overwhelmed. We asked our server for guidance and ordered the Fiesta Platter (a sampler of most of the apps) which came out SUPER fast. It was all very good, but what really blew me away was the Mexican Wings (chicken breast meat stuffed with jalapeño, wrapped in bacon and deep-fried, covered in hot sauce). For mains we ordered shrimp enchiladas with Ranchero sauce and combo fajitas with steak and chicken. Everything was so flavorful, but the steak was unbelievable. Whatever it was marinated in was incredible. I HIGHLY recommend this place. We ate like kings for under 65 bucks! Highly recommend this one.

Fidencio R.

Yelp
Been here multiple times and today for breakfast it was horrible. Both mine and my wife eggs were not fully cooked, Still had the slimy texture. The fajita had a weird taste. I bet it was left over from the night before, they just reheated it. I asked for both flower and corn tortillas and only got the flower. Waitress not once asked how our food was. Time to look for a new location for weekend breakfast.
google avatar

Patricia R.

Yelp
The food is delicious and savory. You never have to wait too long for your food to be served. The wait staff is so very friendly!
google avatar

Julie T.

Yelp
The server had a language barrier. The drinks were yucky. The food was greasy and mediocre. I was starving and ate most of the food. Not for me.
google avatar

Gagan J.

Yelp
Service is average and Lime Chicken salad that I ordered needs some flavor may be Lime flavor in itself. It feels very average grilled chicken thrown over (not so fresh) greens and few avacado slices. I did not drink any alcohol during this lunch. So can't comment on that.
google avatar

Yelp
We celebrated my wife's birthday with 25 family members last night, on Sunday evening. La Margarita could not have done more for us as everything was 'better than perfect'. The long table for all of the guests was set up immediately for our arrival time that I had given the management. All 25 family members were served at the same time. The food was delicious as always! Special mention goes to our waitress, Karen, who is really second-to-none fabulous and is a true asset to La Margarita Restaurant! Thank you so much, Karen! We have come to La Margarita for 17 years for our family celebrations, and since our grandchildren were very young. I highly recommend La Margarita to everyone! Thank you, La Margarita!

Yelp
Recommend. Thick salsa with tasty chips. House made tortillas. Yummy carne guisada, chicken mole enchiladas and bean/cheese nachos with No Jalapeño as requested. As good as I remembered back when I lived in Round Rock.

Yelp
Good food !!! Good Ambiance Service good too !!! We love this place and we probably come back soon Thank you

Yelp
Hometown favorite, friendly service, great food and truly a Round Rock icon. Try the Mexican White wings surly to please all wing aficionados.

Yelp
We love their tacos. They have a discount on Tuesdays. House salsa and chips which are great. Friendly service. Decor could be better but nobody is perfect.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that this place has some of the best salsa that I have tried here in Austin yet. I could not stop eating it. We had a meeting their with a bunch of people and they took great care of everyone there. Really enjoyable place to have a party at. Then I got to eat their food and was blown away by that. Great service great food definetly a place to go eat and have a great drink. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Grace R.

Yelp
Margaritas are FANTASTIC (hence the name). Food and service were okay. Will definitely be back for happy hour. Great sizes, reasonably priced, and well balanced drinks!

Yelp
The food was nice, our waitress was very rude. She grabbed my cup right out of my hand while I was drinking to refill it, didn't say anything and then walked by and put it back on the table. When my husband ordered his beer she slammed it on the table once again without saying anything. And when we asked to pay my husband asked for the bill, and she replied "oh you mean the check" with a rude tone. Once again, the food was good, we enjoyed the food. NOT the waitress, she was so rude

Eric F.

Yelp
Mostly just ok. The tacos Al pastor were good but the drinks not so much. You'd think they'd have an amazing house Margarita but it was way too heavy on the sweet sour mix. And for the love of god this mutant Mexican martini thing; just don't. Good lort', why would you put olives and olive brine in a margarita. Disgusting. Me no likey...

Emilio B.

Yelp
Good service, good food i ordered, good atmosphere. Great restaurant, not long wait when really packed, recommend.

Andrea G.

Yelp
Came with family for dinner we were a very large table of 19. Service was great for how many people the waitress had to serve. The drinks were good the food not so much. I got the most basic tex mex item enchiladas, I was given beef when I ordered cheese enchiladas. I did not have them swap it out as I was very hungry and again our table was large. The food lacked salt, the texture or the meat or odd and I got food poisoning shortly after leaving. Giving two stars on just service.
google avatar

Hunter M.

Yelp
A friend of ours recommended this place, and I was definitely not impressed. I was trying to order some guacamole, said they made a side dish fresh per order, although they forgot to mention that it was almost $12 and enough for four people. I should've just ordered the normal one... Im not gonna lie though, it was definitely my favorite part of the meal! My entrée was chicken & spinach empanadas, they were soggy and nowhere near fried how they should be. The edges of the empanadas are an example of how the entire empanadas should look, golden and flakey. All in all this place was OK, over priced mediocre food... my drinks weren't even that good either. This place needs to step up their game.

Michael A.

Yelp
Quick service. Beef fajitas cooked to perfection. They fall apart in your mouth. The rice and beans were tasty. The temperature was a little cold.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is one of our family favorites. This place is family-friendly. The ambiance is warm and there are many different sections to accommodate various family sizes. The staff are very friendly, and caring. They make sure you are comfortable and that you have everything you need. They make me and my family feel welcomed and safe(like home). The food is on point! Even though we typically order Fajitas for the whole family, with their homemade tortillas, which are exceptionally great! We've never been disappointed or dissatisfied. However, I wish they could provide more flavorful tortilla chips that they provide after ordering drinks. This place is very popular! So, it would be best to make reservations in advance, if they allow it. We've never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes, until recently, when we went on a Sunday(6/6/21), the wait was 45-minutes long for a family of five.

Cindy P.

Yelp
Overcharged my debit card. Total was $35.30, but they charged $45.30. I even lined out the amountbefore and after and they still cheated me. Left a message to resolve the issue, but have not heard back. This occurred Saturday, October 28, 2023. Always check your bank statements.
google avatar

Belle T.

Yelp
Thanks for the reply but your website pricing still is incorrect over a month later and your people on the phone are still rude. Fajitas and sopapillas are still great but the queso leaves lots to be desired. The girl that charged my card and took my order told me the $6.40 tip that had been added was "taxes." Y'all need to take care of some financial and legal issues it seems. Thanks for listening.

Yelp
Last Friday evening my GF and I had dinner here. For a change, I ordered their Chipolte Chicken. It was really good. It had a legend on their menu that it was very hot. I asked my waiter and she indicated it was a "5" on a scale of one to ten. Just right on my spicy index. The chicken was marinated and very tender. The Chipolte sauce was very tasty and did have a little slow bloom on the spicy burn, but was still just right for me. It was topped with pico de gallo, rice, and cheese. The portion was huge and I took home 1/2 of it for the next day breakfast. It would easily be shareable by two hungry people. As is typical of La Margarita, the service was excellent and the margaritas good.

Yelp
Today, I came here with a party of four for a late lunch/early dinner. I have been here before but have been too lazy to write a review--so here we go. We ordered several items, however I will only review the two that I sampled/ ate the most of. Carne Guisada: Generally, this dish is made of chunks of beef simmered in fragrant brown gravy until tender and the meat should be fall-apart tender. Some people opt to cook their meat with tomatoes, potatoes and sweet bell peppers, while others just simmer the beef in water and chiles. But, this was not the case here. The meat was a bit tough and still very chunky when presented. The flavor profile was meh. This is clearly not a guisada that was simmered as it should have been. Otherwise the meat would have been tender and the profile would be more well-rounded and robust. The beans and rice that accompanied this dish was okay, it wasn't stellar and it wasn't terrible; just average. Nachos al carbón: The meat for this dish was similar to carne that can be found on tacos a la plancha. The meat was charred as expected but had very little flavor aside from this. This dish too was just meh. Overall the food and the service s'aight.

Yelp
Went there today to enjoy my some time with my work coworkers and we got kicked out after we paid our tabs and weren't bothering anyone. This was my 1st and last time going to this place. Do not go there trust me

Yelp
These are the 10$ cheese and bean nachos I ordered. Had 8 chips in total ate one then after realized how disappointing they were, then I put salsa on them to give them some flavor but I've never seen such depressing nachos.
