La Mediterranée - Review - Fillmore - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"La Mediterranée is the spot to hit when you don’t care what you look like, but just need to eat some meat on a stick as soon as possible. The pomegranate chicken is a must, and the lamb meatballs and lentil salad should also be on your table. It’s a casual place for brunch or lunch on a sunny day with multiple street tables, but they also deliver in case you don’t want to leave your apartment. It’s some of the better and cheaper Mediterranean food you can get in the city, and it always comes through in a pinch." - Taylor Abrams

One of my new (to me) favorites!! Tried this place for the first time with a couple friends tonight, and we loved it! We got the salmon kebab entree plates and the pomegranate chicken entree plate. Both were great, and each entree came with pita and hummus and choice of soup or salad. I got the avolemono soup, which was delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and I loved the flavor of the pomegranate chicken. The ambiance was equally as nice, with a small and cozy dining area with lots of unique decor on the walls, giving it a lot of personality. The waiters were both extremely friendly and helpful. This is ideal for a date or friends having good conversation. I can't wait to bring more friends and family here.

Google
I've walked past the restaurant front a few times, but this was my first time stopping in. All the decor made the dining area feel super laid-back and cozy. The restaurant has been run by the same family for decades and the staff did an amazing job. Everyone was friendly and were happy to chat more about the dishes and the restaurant history. I enjoyed trying all the small bites with an iced Moroccan mint tea, which were perfect for a sunny 75 degree day in SF! The pomegranate chicken while sweet had a ton of flavor and I'd get it again next time I'm back.

Google
Outstanding! Delicious food. I recommend the Mediterranean platter to try multiple things. Every bit was WOW, so good. Lovely atmosphere with cozy outdoor seating. The staff was helpful and friendly. They got my order wrong and gave me extra food and were speedy to solve the issue. I definitely would go back.

Google
We tried the pomegranate chicken and moussaka. While the pomegranate chicken was great, the moussaka was average as it didn't feel authentic. The cosy vibe of the restaurant transports you back to a Greek tavern. They also offer draft beers from Lebanon which was refreshing to find.

The walls of this restaurant are alive with character - dolls from decades past, and little trinkets peeking out of nooks. The avegolemono soup was pleasantly sour and conforting, like a warm citrusy whisper. The chicken shawarma was juicy, flavorful, and grilled just right. The hibiscus cooler, though rich in color, missed a bit of the zingy sparkle I was expecting, it needed more of a floral bite. But honestly, it didn’t take away from the experience. We ate our food with ravenous gusto!

Update: came back for brunch (they recently started being open on both Saturdays and Sundays 11-3pm). Food was great - we got the two quiches (the quiche Lorraine and the vegetarian one of the day), which came with hummus and pita, as well as a side salad with a really yummy dressing. Good portion sizes too. Would recommend! Great little spot on Fillmore. Food is great, large portions, and reasonable prices. I loved the vegetarian platter.

It was such an amazingly cute ambience, as if you are in the kitchen of someone’s home in Greece. Friendly staff. Great food. Great flavors and dips. A must experience. Highly recommend. Arthur and Manuel and Juan were amazing!

The best Mediterranean restaurant we have ever eaten at. Ask for Anna. She is amazing and clearly loves her job. Great prices and fast service. High quality food.

Yelp
Just stopped in for a quick bite at my favorite Mediterranean establishment in SF. Noticed on the board situated at the entrance a few new items. Having a veritable sweet tooth, my eye spied an item that seemed new. Dessert labeled "heavenly trio". Aptly named as the 3 small tastes were perfectly matched. Starting with the simple Muhalabiye(rose water puddings/pistachios, the middle tasting was What I consider the best Baklava in the city(not at all cloyingly sweet). Finally the highlight; Chocolate Mousse. For chocolate lovers the heavenly finish. One note the Mousse comes with whip cream. The cream is not sweet which compliments the dessert, but maybe a little too much. So don't forgo it but ask if they can do just a small amount.

Yelp
Came here for their happy hour, and tried their tzatziki, avgolemono soup, chickpeas, and shared the lamb plate! The service was exceptional here, everyone was so kind, attentive, and really made the restaurant feel homey, welcoming, and intimate. All the food ordered was exceptional!! I loved the lamb, it wasn't too gamey and melted in my mouth. Everything tasted so fresh!!

Yelp
My friend and I decided to come to La Med for a quick dinner after watching a movie. We shared the Mediterranean Meza for two. It's probably the most affordable tasting menu in the city ($29 per person with a 2 person minimum). It came in four plates: (1) hummus, tabuleh and baba ghanoush, (2) falafel, dolma and Armenian potato salad, (3) chicken pomegranate, lamb lule and rice pilaf, and (4) chicken cilicia fillo and spinach and feta fillo. There's so much to like in this tasting menu but the highlight for me was the chicken cilicia fillo - it reminded me of a chicken bastilla and it was great. The dips were great and they gave us plenty of pita and veggies. The pomegranate chicken was tasty comfort food. The lamb lule was a little underwhelming for me and lamb is usually a signature item for a middle eastern place. The falafel was OK but I've had better. Overall, this was a great and relatively healthy feast. Service was fast - we were in and out in less than an hour. The restaurant is cozy and can get loud when busy. With tax and tip, this was about $40 per person - an incredible value for money. Highly recommended if you are looking for middle eastern food in the area.

Yelp
Delicious! I ordered a plate for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. I wish they included two of the chicken calicias and spinach filos to make the cost more worth it, but I was still filled regardless. The lemon chicken soup was delicious. Pita was a little tough. Online ordering and pickup was smooth.

Yelp
Grabbed lunch here with a friend and I live nearby so have ordered takeout from here on occasion - La Mediterranee is always a reliable option when I want some healthy but tasty Mediterranean food! The ambiance is very cozy and the service is very friendly. I usually get the lamb lule or lamb schwarma dishes, and the meat is flavorful and is well-balanced with the rice and salad (though the salad is pretty leafy and not my favorite). Pita bread is always warm and soft. Great place to grab a casual meal and chat. *I've also reviewed the Duboce location - food was similarly good.

Yelp
Wow, where to start! From the moment we walked in, we were seated very easily and greeted pleasantly by the host. Soon to follow would be the warmest pita breads I have had so far, with some extremely tasty sides including hummus, tabule and harissa tomato dip - whoa mouth watering just to think of it now :D Next was the main meal with the highlight of spinach and cheese filo and the falafels were sooo damn good! We would have went in for the dessert had we had space after eating such a delicious meal altogether! As for the ambiance, the place will take you back to the 80s - with the tapestry lining the walls and the very cosy interior setup - you would definitely love it! Special kudos to the host, who made us feel very welcome and answered all our questions!

Yelp
Cozy spot on Fillmore with an eclectic international ambiance. Featuring Mediterranean cuisine, I always get the Middle Eastern plate with various samplings of delicious choices such as chicken Cilicia, feta and spinach phyllo, falafel, pomegranate chicken, levant sandwich, etc. Service was attentive and efficient. I used to go to the location in Berkeley on College Avenue so it felt nostalgic eating here. Reasonably priced and consistent food, it's definitely a staple for me when I'm in the area.

Yelp
An office party earlier this year was catered by La Mediterranee. The food was so delicious that I had to come to the restaurant. I finally got the opportunity last night. Service was outstanding! The host was so welcoming and the staff were very nice. And the space is inviting. It's like being in a Nancy Meyers movie that takes place in a historic neighborhood in Manhattan. There's lots of pictures on the wall and other knick knacks. We sat at a semi private table at the entrance that separated by an oriental rug. I love that vibe. We had falafels to start. They were crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. I ordered the chicken pomegranate, which is one of their popular items. It's delicious and quite a big portion! The chicken has a tartness from the pomegranate and it falls off the bone. The rice pilaf was flavorful and I like that it had some chickpeas to give it a textual contrast. The hummus was yummy with the pita bread. It comes with 4 drumsticks and I could only eat two. There was enough for lunch the next day. Out of the three side options, I chose the lentil soup. It was comforting with lots of lentils. It was kinda like a minestrone, but better. I skipped dessert because I was so full, but I'm definitely not skipping it next time I dine here. I'm glad to have read they're staying in the Fillmore and I hope they stay there for a very long time. It would be a travesty if this place left as it brings an old-school charm to this neighborhood.

Yelp
I met up here with a friend for lunch on a weekday and we were able to be seated right away. La Mediterranee has very friendly, cozy, homey vibes, and the same can be said about their dishes. I couldn't decide on just one thing to try so I had the Middle Eastern plate which gives you the option of 3 items, and is also served with hummus, pita, and soup (perfect for a chilly SF day), salad, or potato salad. I had the chicken pomegranate after a recommendation, lamb lule, and spinach and feta fillo. Everything was delicious and, again, felt very cozy and homey. I definitely want to return here soon and try more stuff!

Yelp
Seriously our favorite Mediterranean restaurant in SF! We've been coming here for years and the food quality and service is consistently great. We can always count on La Med for a fresh, filling, and delicious meal. My personal favorites are the combination dips appetizers and the middle eastern plate. The roasted chickpeas and combinations dips to start are always tasty. The chicken fillo is sweet, savory, and an overall treat. The chicken pomegranate falls off the bone every time and is paired perfectly with the rice pilaf. The avgolemono soup or lentil soup are refreshing. I have also eaten the kebab skewers and the saffron chicken kebab is my personal favorite. Overall you can't go wrong with dining at La Med. You'll be leaving full, happy, and wanting to come back every time!

Yelp
We went on a weekend night and didn't have to wait too long before getting seated! The food was pretty decently tasty, the price however was a bit expensive to justify the quality and quantity of the food. The hummus is very delicious! The lamb is pretty decent. The vibes are immaculate and I really enjoyed the decor and ambiance of the restaurant
google avatar

Madison M.

Yelp
Perfect lunch portions, every dish comes with hummus and pita as well as an additional side of soup or salad. I got the Avgolemono Soup - it has some great lemon flavor but I didn't love the consistency, I think I was expecting/wanted something with more texture/solid pieces. My friend got the lentil soup and said it was great so I will have to do that next time. The middle eastern coffee was great and came with some baklava. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and super cute, love the decor and how homey it feels. The individuals working were very welcoming and kind.
google avatar

Kat Z.

Yelp
Spinach and feta fillo: flavors were cohesive and they're not skimping on the filling! Texture was slightly dry, but overall I'm glad I tried. Tabuleh: loved that all the ingredients were thinly chopped and the amount of lemon was perfect. Not too sour. This app comes with pita bread. Lamb kebab entree: the lamb itself was nice, it was flavorful and not dry. The rice and potato salad were under seasoned and bland, but I enjoyed mixing in the Tabuleh for more flavor. My friend also thought the rice was a bit too oily. The dish itself overall was still yummy! This was the perfect amount for the two of us! Great sizes and great pricing.

Kayla T.

Yelp
The food is consistently great quality and fresh with reasonable price. I love the mint tea as well! Awesome customer service. I highly recommend Chicken Pomegranate Dinner - that is my go to! Ambiance is very warm and welcoming

Yelp
Walked in on a Tuesday evening for dinner and it wasn't super busy. The service was amazing, our server was attentive and very friendly. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate, beef kabob, and salmon kabob. All really tasty, large portions! I loved the ambiance! They played classic love songs and it was a lovely dinner. Would definitely come back again!

Mike F.

Yelp
I would definitely not recommend this restaurant, while the service and atmosphere was decent, we were very unhappy with the food. The food was not very warm. Pita bread was dried out. The meet was over cooked, and very dry. The meatballs seem like they were cooked earlier and either sat under a heat lamp or were microwaved. Really disappointing as I was anticipating having a really decent meal there.
google avatar

Brittany K.

Yelp
The salmon salad was really delicious, and colorful too! There are 4 pieces of salmon kabobbed with pieces of vegetable in between. The salad is mixed greens with slices of tomato, cucumber, carrot, radish, and feta (I asked for it on the side). It also came with pita.
google avatar

Yelp
What a charm! We visited this restaurant during the Jazz Festival weekend. The inside decor is very cute. Good is delicious especially their chicken. Service is great. We had a great time and will definitely revisit.
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
They are having an anniversary promotion checking on Yelp will get a free glass of champagne! I got the lentil soup with Mediterranean lunch plate. The pomegranate chicken was amazing so as the hummus with rice. If you are first time here I recommend the Mediterranean plate because you get to choose up to three items so you can try all three items and see which one you like, then next time you order that dish. Then I got the most popular traditional dessert. It's like a fried dough fill with nuts inside. Definitely will come back for more of the pomegranate chicken dish!

Omniasolutionsla O.

Yelp
great tasting food, they know what they are doing here! quality of food feels like I'm in Greece or Armenia. service was good to always happy to take care of you.
google avatar

Yelp
I believe La Med is pretty good but it's better to go during their lunch menu. I feel as though the normal entree price is a bit pricey for the portion but the lunch menu was a couple dollars cheaper. The shawarma wrap is really delicious, the hummus was great. I wasn't a fan of their lentil soup, I prefer normally the middle eastern yellowish lentil soup. This one was red and had carrots and other veggies in it. Tasted more like chicken noodle soup with lentils. The chicken pomegranate is also another great go to. The service was good, they sat us quickly and checked in on us. The inside is so cute, this would be a great date spot!
google avatar

J A.

Yelp
Service was impeccable as always. Every bite was amazing. We love that they have plenty of vegan and gluten free options and were very careful to describe each item as they came out. Fabulous dips, great wine and a cozy atmosphere. A true gem!
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere and food! I recommend coming here on a nice sunny day or evening to sit outside. We were told the lamb kebab is often available, but is not on the menu. It is worth asking for-- especially accompanied by the yummy rice pilaf. I've had moussaka here before and liked it, but it was less traditional this time. It is still not bad, but it doesn't taste like traditional moussaka. It is more like a Mediterranean shepherds pie because it includes different vegetables like zucchini, bell peppers, and mushrooms. I prefer mine with just the lamb and eggplant. The béchamel sauce on top is still really good though!

Yelp
My favorite seat was by the window, where you can watch the walkers on Fillmore in Pacific Heghts District. Not only their restaurant had like a European aesthetic inside, their food was so good,The taste was very authentic and original. I love their pomegranate chicken and my favorite was the Middle Easter Plate. I spoiled myself here. If you can help them, they are facing possible eviction with their lease. Theyre been on Fillmore for 45 years and their will expire on July 2025.
google avatar

Nirsh A.

Yelp
This is definitely one of my favorite Mediterranean spots in the city. There's a few locations one is in the Fillmore and the other is in Noe valley/Castro. I really like the hummus here. I'm super picky with hummus and I thought this was so on point with the flavors. I ordered the chicken dish which was so freaking good, there were 4 chicken legs on my plate with hummus, rice and soup and it was the perfect meal. It was so filling. I feel like when a Mediterranean place can cook chicken well that's a really good reflection of the rest of their menu since I think they're mostly known for their Lamb/beef. I have been here multiple times now since the food never disappoints, and the service is on par.
google avatar

Maria W.

Yelp
Ordered a Shawerma Chicken Sandwich online (through the yelp app) and it was ready within five minutes! Picked it up at the cute little hole-in-the-wall location (noting it to be packed with happy-looking customers filling up all the tables) and devoured it for lunch. It was flavorful, warm, and delicious, with the perfect level of moisture--sometimes wraps can be a little dry, but the yogurt sauce on the side of this one was simply a complement, not a rescue. Great spot!
google avatar

Jimmy C.

Yelp
When it comes to falafel, tabouli, and baklava, THAT is truly Mediterranean. Avocadoes would never count as an ingredient for Mediterranean food. I love restaurants such as La Mediterranee whose ingredient selections are based on its culture. So I thought I would come to try many different foods before I fall back to indulging Chinese rice plates once again. I was impressed to see how cute La Med's small Franco interior was designed even before I stepped inside. Not as extremely narrow as Tu Lan, the height of its interior makes up for having plenty of breathing room. The service was as good and promising as ever. Btw, the housefly near my side of the wooden wall didn't seem to pester me at all while I was dining; that was a surprise. My best entreé alongside the whole wheat pita bread was the Vegan Lamb Kofta over saffron rice and veggies with the side of Armenian Potato salad. The reason why I chose to go to La Med in Pac Heights was due to its special potato salad that makes this Middle Eastern restaurant Armenian. A slew of sliced veggies, some Kofta over saffron rice was enticing enough that I might have it again. But what impressed me the most was the whole wheat pita bread. Three to four pieces; warm, fresh, and crispy with the hummus dip. Maybe I should wolf down the pita bread first next time. My work place has chosen La Med well many times as the best catering service. I like to take my time to thank the staff members for making good Middle Eastern food. If I have my way, I eat more leafy greens and plant based proteins accented with herbs and spices.
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
Wow this place is a gem. Walking into this restaurant I felt like I transported to a totally different country, the decor is great! The food was also delicious. I got a plate with chicken and rice and the flavors were so unique and delicious. Truly a standout restaurant and I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Helen L.

Yelp
5 stars for service, the most friendiest. Everyone there appeared to enjoy working there. One guy just had a natural laid-back smile. One worker just came to work and he fist pumped every staff. They work as a team. Our pita bread was refilled at least three times. My cohort loves pita bread to get all the baba ganoush.Happy Hour is wonderful. Had my chicken phyllo. Cohort said the pomegranate champagne tasted great and lemon chicken soup was delicious. The baklava wasn't the traditional one, but the filling had lots of nuts. Love their jazzy background music. This place makes me happy.

Yelp
For a party of 4, our lovely server Arthur suggested two servings of the Mediterranean Meza w/ Added Chicken Kebab. I am so happy we followed his lead because everything we ordered complimented each other SO well. From the tender pomegranate chicken to the fresh tabouleh, we left very satisfied. I can't thank Arthur enough for his incredibly warm hospitality, we felt very well taken care of.

Yelp
We came in to order take out. The server was very nice helping us pick out a meal. We got some water and a free little snack while they prepped our take away meals. The food we got was fresh, well seasoned, and delicious! My veggie meal with tofu was so filling and healthy and yummy. My friend got chicken soup and skewers which she really liked. We got some balaclava included! Which was a nice treat. Would love to come back and try more! The dining area is really cute

Yelp
Wonderful place a must stop for mezze! Small plates are delectable. Try the salmon cakes. I'm in love with the food and ambiance. The music was a wonderful touch.

Yelp
I've been coming to La Med since I was a kid, growing up in SF. It's a cute little restaurant with colorful decor and tasty food! Great for small groups or dates. For first-timers I recommend the Mediterranean Meza or the Middle Eastern plate as you get to try a variety of their dishes. I also recommend the Moroccan mint tea! My new favorite the is lamb over rice or the kebabs, very flavorful. Great service - everyone is attentive and friendly. Will continue to be my neighborhood go-to.
google avatar

Victoria S.

Yelp
I've been coming here since 1980.Today is the worst experience that I've ever had.It reflects the changing ownership and cut backs of quality and service. The staff are rude and inattentive. The food was clearly microwaved. Not once during my meal did anyone check to see if I needed anything.I feel very sad at what's happened to this one sought after restraunt
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
Super tender pomegranate chicken and good baklava. I didn't enjoy the lemon chicken soup, but I did really like the filo pastries they gave. I didn't like the little deli roll up sandwich thing, felt like it was missing some seasoning. I took the food to go but picked it up and the staff was really quick and nice. It looks like a cute little establishment. I'm not sure I'll go back again, but I did enjoy trying it out!

Yelp
Cozy mediterranean spot in lower pac heights SF with friendly service :) We walked in on a Friday night for dinner and was seated immediately Mediterranean meza (4/5): fun sampler to try a bit of everything! being $27/person, with min of 2 people, thought the portions would be slightly bigger. it came with an array of their most popular appetizers and entrees - my favs were the baba ghanoush, chicken pomegranate, and both spinach & feta and chicken cilicia fillos! i've never had anything like the chicken cilicia before but it surprisingly worked - was initially confused eating shredded chicken spiced with cinnamon sugar raisin but was yummy Chicken breast kebab dinner with Chicken soup (3/5): wasn't too dry for chicken breast, but was lacking in flavor. the chicken soup was also dry, but really enjoyed the slightly lemony rice pilaf They gave each of us complementary baklava for dessert :) loved the sweet cinnamon flavor, flaky layers, and how it wasn't too syrupy
google avatar

Winnie L.

Yelp
La Mediterranee is a super quaint Mediterranean restaurant with amazing ambiance, food, and service! I ordered the chicken pomegranate dinner and liked how it came with warm pita/ hummus and a flavorful rice pilaf as well as the option between salad or soup. The rice pilaf had a lemony undertone with raisins / chickpeas and soaked up the flavors of the pomegranate sauce. The pomegranate chicken was slightly sweet, fall off the bone and also packed with a well rounded flavor. However, I think it was a tad drier than expected. The employees were super friendly, attentive, and nice - even giving us a free baklava on the house as we were the last ones to leave. Made in house, the baklava was heavenly -- I loved the crunch of the phyllo dough and the nuttiness of the pistachio. It almost tasted like apple pie? I'd get this again. I've also tried the chicken kebab, beef kibbeh, and falafel in the past when it was catered to my company. While it was a bit cold by the time I tried it, all were solid but the falafel was a tad salty. Be sure to check in on Yelp for the free champagne!! Overall, I had a great experience and I'll be back.

Yelp
The best lunch options go to this restaurant! Everything you get here will be delicious. I was so impressed with the delightful flavor of every dish. Parking can be tricky, but there are a few parking structures close to Japan Town, which is a short walk from the restaurant. The restaurant is small inside, and they have outside dining. The staff is very attentive. Now for the food: -10/10 goes to their pomegranates chicken. It is tender, juicy, and flavorful. I usually get it with the lunch special so I can try other items but I can easily order this and eat it by itself as an entre. -I've also had their Levant Sandwich, Spinach and Feta Fillo, and Lemon Rice Soup as part of the lunch special, and they were all delicious. -You get complimentary hummus and warm pita bread. If you want delicious Mediterranean food, stop by here. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Amazing food !!!!! Service by Aurthur on point! Not sure what these guys do here but every single time my wife have come here we always leave full and happy plus great prices

Yelp
Simple mediterranean platters and great for a group! We got the Mediterranean Meza for 2 and the Chicken Kebab dinner for a group of 4 to share, and that was the perfect amount of food. -Mediterranean Meza (4/5): Overall a great sampler! I was a huge fan of the spinach&feta fillo which was super crisp and had a nice creamy filling, but I was even a bigger fan of the chicken cilicia fillo. It was my first time having chicken cilicia and the cinnamon spiced shredded chicken was so flavorful! The Lamb Lule was also pretty good and the chicken pomegranate was quite tender. On the other hand, the falafel was a bit dry. -Chicken Kebab dinner (2.5/5): I wanted to like this, but the chicken was really dry, as was the soup on the side. The service was really great though and they also served us baklava before we left as complimentary dessert!

John P.

Yelp
Excellent food at a good price. Recently tried the vegetarian moussaka. The potatoes had a delicate creaminess, and the vegetables were perfectly roasted. Everything on the plate was delicious, and expertly done.

Yelp
The experience of eating at La Med is undeniably charming. The decor and seating nooks make it feel like a getaway amidst the hubbub of Fillmore. That said, the cuisine punches below its weight class. While the restaurant suggests some level of culinary sophistication, the food itself doesn't transcend the ubiquitous Mediterranean menu. The service is unfortunately also spotty with long periods between seating and water and orders being taken,m. Even so, it's a pleasant option if you are in the neighborhood. Shout out to the fillos--they are terrific.
google avatar

Alison H.

Yelp
I've been here two weeks in a row for their pomegranate chicken dish. The chicken is tender and delicious! If you go during their lunch special, it comes with a side as well (salad, potato salad, or lentil soup), and pita. The seasonal hot apple cider is tasty too. Great service - the servers are all gracious and attentive :)

R S.

Yelp
I have been to La Mediterranean many times over the last several years. Always love the food, the service, and the setting. Tonight I ordered the salmon kebabs, and the salmon tasted extremely fishy, which in my experience is a reflection of freshness. I mentioned it to the server, and while friendly he didn't seem to be concerned. I was raised in a commercial fishing family and have spent decades on commercial fishing boats and was lucky enough growing up to eat fish for dinner that was swimming that same morning. Freshness is key. Maybe it was an off night at this restaurant or perhaps this particular salmon piece was not fresh, but in eating fresh seafood for 44 years, I truly have not had this experience before. I will definitely come back, but will not order the salmon kebabs here again. I'm hopeful the kitchen may reevaluate when they're serving the salmon after purchasing it.

Yelp
Even though I've been fully aware of the Fillmore location of this familiar Mediterranean mini-chain, I had never patronized it before even though I've been to the one on Noe several times. I liked the food there so why haven't I come here before? Gee, good question. Well, this part of the Fillmore is always bustling, and I think the smaller space likely inhibited me, especially small in the last couple of years. However, I was taking a stroll on Fillmore after a long day driving from LA and noticed they weren't busy. This was the time to give it a try. I was greeted quite warmly and handed the table for two closest to the front door. That was perfect because it didn't make me feel guilty for taking up too much space. My order was easy. I went for the $18.95 Middle Eastern Plate because I got a 'greatest hits' compilation of their best eats. It featured Chicken Cilicia Fillo, Spinach & Feta Fillo, Levant Sandwich, Lamb Lule over Rice, and Armenian Potato Salad with of course, the requisite hummus and pita (photo: https://bit.ly/3xItl9P). Not to worry as it was finger food size. The complimentary corn nuts were a satisfying starter as I was studying the rest of the menu (photo: https://bit.ly/3EDF4rA). With the outdoor seating all set up and delivery as a last resort, I'm sure I won't be a stranger here. FOOD - 4 stars...the Middle Eastern Plate is quite a treat especially with the lamb lule AMBIANCE - 4 stars...atmospheric in here and surprisingly not too crowded SERVICE - 4.5 stars...their high point as they're very nice here TOTAL - 4 stars...La Mediterranee is back in my rotation RELATED - Exploring Pac Heights? Yelp
The very best neighborhood restaurant in pacific heights. Delicious, healthy and reasonable choices for everyone are available here. The lunch specials are one of the best deals on Fillmore and their mint tea is just perfect. This family owned spot makes you feel like a close friend is inviting you into their home, and the authentic menu really can't be beat.

Yelp
This is my favorite Mediterranean food place! I always get the Middle Eastern Plate where you can pick three different items. It also comes with the Armenian potato salad, which is amazing and so delicious. This restaurant is a must whenever I go to San Francisco :) with multiple locations and delivery options, it's also super convenient!

Yelp
Searching for ethnic food on Yelp, and I get directed to this spot on Fillmore that serves Armenian fare. Need I say more?! xD Getting a table late Saturday afternoon was not an issue. The waitress assigned to my table was very helpful with suggestions and brought out the food quickity quick. I got myself the lunch middle eastern plate. It had- the avgolemono soup, a couple dolmas, one fillo and a drumstick of the chicken pomegranate, (served over rice and some hummus). The soup was tangy, hearty and served as an excellent appetizer. The dolmas were grape leaf wound up with rice filling inside- and I liked the zesty flavor of every bite that I had of these. The fillo was flaky, and had the right amount of sweet/savory ratio. The chicken pomegranate was tender, flavorful and tasted novel. I had never had anything like that before. It was a treat dining at this place and I'd definitely vouch for this place. They also gave out some walnut baklava with my check, which btw, was fire too. 10/10 would go back!
