19 Great Places To Eat Something Kind Of Healthy

"There are a few La Meds around the city, but the Noe and Fillmore locations have the option to sit and eat instead of just getting takeout, which makes it a good place to go on a random weeknight when steaming vegetables sounds more painful than actually sorting through your junk email. If you’re a little more hungry, start out with some pita and dips, but when it comes to mains, order the pomegranate chicken." - taylor abrams, will kamensky

"La Med has been holding it down as a neighborhood favorite at this location since 1981, serving Armenian and Lebanese family recipes at affordable prices. Where To Eat And Drink Near SF’s Music Venues - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"If you don’t want to go full-burger mode, but can’t sit forever, try La Mediterranee on Fillmore. This is one of our favorite places to get takeout, but it’s also great for a quick dinner pre-show. We love the pomegranate chicken, but the rest of the menu is great, too. They also have a solid (and reasonably priced) beverage list with beer and wine from Greece." - Will Kamensky

The food was okay, but my glass where they give you water smells like fish. It was pretty stinky overall. My experience was okay. It wasn't bad. The waitress are excellent.

Google
A hearty brunch spot in the middle of Castro. Food came in big portions too. Loved everything we had. The cream dessert with rose water was my fav!

Google
I've come here a number of times. And always enjoyed the food and service. This last time I had cauliflower quiche which hit the spot. I find their portions are appropriately sized. Great flavors

Google
Delicious healthy, Mediterranean food, great friendly server, reasonably priced. I loved my meze-style plate (Russian salad plate?) and my friend enjoyed his chicken skewers. We had Sunday brunch at 11:30 and there were plenty of tables (for some reason people wait in line at worse restaurants nearby in Hayes Valley)

I love this place. Been coming here since the 90’s. The food, service and charm are what bring me back. If you want to experience a piece of true SF come here. This place has fed and delighted countless families, lovers, old friends, neighbors and visitors. Places like this cannot be replicated. Treat yourself….

We had a genuinely hard time when the bill came—not because of the cost, but because the service was excellent, while the food was hands down the worst Mediterranean cuisine I’ve ever had. I still left a good tip out of appreciation for the staff, but I’m writing this review to make sure others don’t get the wrong impression: the food was extremely disappointing. • The falafels were dry and lacked flavor. • The baba ghanoush and hummus tasted like they came from canned grocery store versions—not fresh or house-made. • We asked for olive oil, which had a very light color and almost no taste. • The dolmas were dry, missing the usual tenderness and balance. • The chicken pomegranate was okay, but the pomegranate flavor was barely noticeable. • The lamb lule had an odd, processed texture—more like store-bought meatballs than fresh ground lamb. • The rice was decent, but didn’t reflect Lebanese nor Armenian cuisines - I guess the owners were going with a more ambiguous "middle eastern" taste instead. • The sangria tasted more like Ocean Spray cranberry-pineapple juice with a strawberry slice thrown in—definitely not what I expect from a proper wine-based sangria with chopped fruits. What’s most surprising is that the restaurant’s story and branding highlight Lebanese and Armenian roots, but that rich culinary heritage was nowhere to be found in the actual dishes. I left truly disappointed and confused by the disconnect.

On a Saturday evening of a very busy tourist weekend with no reservations they gladly pulled tables together to accommodate 9 of us, in just a few minutes! Delicious food, gracious service...highly recommend!

Google
Really neat little restaurant in a great neighborhood of SF. The tables are intimate and the atmosphere is lively. The service and presentation was excellent and the food tasty. We ordered an assortment of mezze and it was perfect for two people. Great for dates! There is quite a lot of vegan options and more dessert options than most, desert was homemade and fresh.

Yelp
Had a great lunch here because of the warm and friendly service, nice outdoor seating, and good food and wine. They had a different menu for lunch and dinner, I didn't look too much at the menus because their chicken shawarma salad special for the day sounded so delicious it was an easy choice. About half of our table, if not more ended up ordering that. We also ordered some liter bottles of their house chardonnay, which ended up being perfect for the beautifully sunny day. The service from everyone working was very nice. They were quick to get our food and wine, and provided a really welcoming atmosphere. We had a group of 8 and stopped in on a Friday afternoon, they were able to quickly push some tables together and get us seated in the parklet.

Yelp
I've been here maybe five times. Progressively gotten worse over the years unfortunately. Falafel was inedible. Literally spit out and pushed to the side, dry to the point of being inedible. "Tahini" was literally water that was white color and bitter to taste. Vegan lamb was good, dry but good covered in yogurt cucumber spread. Regular lamb meatballs were good. Chicken soup was acceptable. Rice pilaf was also inedible. Sweet and squishy. Pita is clearly not made there, dry and flavorless. Happy hour appetizers are decent deal, would not pay full price for them. Won't be back when Troya across the street is an incredibly better option. Service very friendly but not efficient. Small inside with loud music and outdoor is better option despite uncomfortable tables and chairs.

Yelp
I've been a fan of La Med since the 90's when a coworker introduced me to La Méditerranée on Fillmore street, which was opened in 1979. We would order the Middle Eastern plate and I would switch up the items, as everything I have tried was delicious. It came with soup, salads and your choice of three items. So fast forward to this past year, we went on a boat tour for work of the Bay and they had it catered by La Med. I was so delighted to be able to have this food and rave about this place again. Since then, we have had the catering a few times as it make for great snacking plates. We had a work happy hour and ordered through Doordash to be delivered to the bar. Worked out amazingly and we had the Fruit and Sweet Treats tray (small), Dips and Pita Bread Tray (small) and the Combination Tray (small) to feed a group of about 10 for appetizers. The food is still so good, the service is friendly and prompt. Always a great choice for something a little healthier and delicious.

Yelp
I revisited this spot just a few days ago and am so glad I gave it another shot! We ordered the chicken pomegranate plate and the salmon kebab. The chicken was so juicy and fell off the bone! This dish takes a bit longer to prepare but was absolutely worth the wait. The salmon kebab was also super flavorful and silky! Pairing both of these meats with the rice and hummus was incredible. The service was 1000 times better too! She was very tentative to us and was so sweet when recommending what bottle of wine to get.

Yelp
Went for San Francisco Restaurant Week Lunch Food - 5/5. The hummus and baba ghanoush were smooth with a slight bite for texture. They were salted perfectly with a good level of sourness to the point that the extra lemon was not needed. Tabouleh had a great chew to them and I enjoyed that the ratio was in favor of bulgur over parsley. Flavor was so zesty making your mouth salivate for the next bite! Lamb lule was very tender with a mild tomato sauce. Chicken pomegranate had very strong flavors of pomegranate, having the sweet and sour fruit flavors seeping throughout the meat. Rice pilaf was fluffy with bits of sweetness but was a tad bit soft for my liking. I liked that both fillos were not laden with oils making them have a crunchier texture. Chicken cilicia's densely packed chicken made for great flavor. I was pleasantly surprised that the spinach & feta was a sweet and savory dish which worked really well. Shakshuka had good tomato flavors with a hint of spiciness and the za'atar pita were packed with flavor. However, the chickpeas were undercooked having a hard center and the eggs felt overcooked. It wasn't bad, but felt like a missed opportunity. Baklava was filled with pistachios with a nice bite on the fillo. Their rosewater syrup was sweet with a beautiful aroma that livened up the dessert. Service - 4/5. Quick and friendly service. Value - 5/5. The restaurant week special was a sampling of 9 dishes including a drink of your choice for $30. I love a good sampler platter and was happy that they offered it for one person. Portion sizes were appropriate and the flavors were fantastic. Their regular menu is also reasonably priced with the shakshuka being $16.50. Fantastic Mediterranean restaurant! Parking - Street (Metered)

Yelp
Food: 3-4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 3/5 Pricing: $$ ($20-25 for lunch) Overall: 3.5/5 We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. No wait and we were able to get seated quickly. They have lunch and brunch menu. We ordered the shakshuka and Lebanese kebeh. The food was okay, nothing special. The kebab wasn't that great, you couldn't really taste the meat (maybe it had too many spices or other ingredients) and it was over cooked. The side of soup was really good (I think it was chicken and rice). The sides that came with the main dish including the rice was delicious. The bathroom is weirdly located in the kitchen area and I'm not sure how they handle that when the place is busy and packed. The waiter was nice and the location of the restaurant is pretty convenient. I would go back for a quick bite again but it wasn't something very special or memorable.

Yelp
UPDATE: the owner and I communicated directly and as noted below from the owner, they have reached out to the city of SF to address the pesky mosquito issues. I am happy to hear this, as we so enjoy dining at LaMed... Owners that care about their establishments and their clients are the best!

Yelp
I've come here many times over the 17 years I've lived in SF, and the food is always delicious. This review is especially for their dessert, a dessert I never tried before, called the muhalabiye. It is like a delicious rose flavored pudding, with fresh whipped cream. Decadent and delicious. The coffee I had paired perfectly with this treat. La Mediterranee has always been lovely and has an adorable ambiance. I am so happy it is still around!

Yelp
I'm so glad this restaurant has survived through the pandemic - they are one of my absolute favorite spots for Mediterranean food! Their hummus, spinach & feta fillo and Chicken Pomegranate entree are all superb and delectable.

Yelp
La med is delicious have the next platter and the baklava. They also do catering! My work only caters vegetarian food and they always do it right!

Yelp
We had a graduation party catered by Le Med recently and it was fantastic. We ordered the Meza dishes, which are a variety of small finger foods. They were perfectly flavored and easy to eat. It was a crowd pleaser. The food was prepared and displayed beautifully. We will definitely use them again.

Yelp
Had a super filling lunch here on a beautiful Sunday in the Castro! On Sundays, this street has a market, live band, and patio seating, which we took full advantage of. The last time I dined at this establishment was at their Berkeley location many years ago and it was refreshing to come to the SF location. Server was super nice and patient with us as we picked our options. We ordered a variety of dishes - each came with choices of sides (vegan potato/green salad, soups) and pita/hummus! -Chicken Pomegranate - this was delicious sweet, savory, tangy flavored tender chicken legs over rice pilaf and I chose a cool cucumber soup that was yogurt based. This was a winner! -Salmon Kebab- so tender and moist and the side of chicken soup was comforting and warm. Mom enjoyed it. -Chicken Shawarma Wrap- tasty and filling per my bro's partner. -Vegan Mediterranean plate- hubz approved! -Falafel appetizer- I wasn't a fan of their falafels, kinda dry but some hummus fixed it. We were too stuffed for dessert but I'd love to sink my teeth into some of their baklava in the future.

Yelp
We had the salmon and chicken salad. The salmon was very bad. We didn't want to complain because the waiter is so nice and times are tough. That said, my partner had a reaction (bad GI reaction) later in the evening. We think the salmon was bad. Sadly, though local, we will not return. Update: the manager called us and refunded us in full for the meal. This is super, shows integrity, and we appreciate this so much. He said he discussed the issue with his cook, no one else got sick, so we think this was a one off. Because of their honesty and integrity, we will be back.

Yelp
If you're looking for a little slice of Greece in the middle of the Castro, then look no further. This place gives a very authentic Mediterranean vibe whether you enjoy the variety of indoor or outdoor seating. Our server greeted us as soon as we walked in & immediately sat us at our table outside which is where we requested to sit considering the beautiful fall San Francisco weather. We started out with an order of Dolma & I had the Avgolemono soup which were both delicious & fresh. Then my partner & I both ordered falafels over rice which also came with a small salad & hummus & pita. The falafels were on the softer side instead of crispy which I actually kind of enjoyed because they seemed baked instead of fried. The saffron rice was cooked to perfection, the hummus was creamy, salad fresh, & the pita fluffy & crispy. Overall it was a great experience & if you're looking for a cute Mediterranean cafe to enjoy lunch or dinner in the area, this may just be your new spot.

Yelp
I haven't been here since leaving SF years ago, but I decided to revisit what used to be a reliably good restaurant experience when I lived in SF before. The food was not as good as I remember from the past, but it was still acceptable. The glaring problem was the service. It was average and acceptable until the end. My partner had barely finished his entree, and I had some left on my plate when the waitress walked over and put the check on the table. No, "Can I bring you anything else," or simply ask if we wanted more to drink or a desert. This type of subpar service is one of my major pet peeves. Please train your staff better or hire more experienced staff. That ending ruined my dining experience and made me very sad for what this restaurant has become.

Noelle C.

Yelp
I LOVE La Med in the Castro. It's my go to for delicious, affordable, fresh, and healthy food. Delicious is the main attraction Great service, great ambiance, the parklett is heaven, I'm obsessed. I would give 100 stars if I could. My favorite is the chicken pomegranate but I've never had anything I didn't love from La Med! Highly recommend

Yelp
Yumminess supreme deliciousness for the fillo Grecian Spinach & Feta was worth the trip and the lemonade was lovely and served quickly! I keep coming back for more for the fast delivery of the morsels they deliver to you quickly, and the restaurant is like a place in time for me with so many good memories over the decades it set a standard that few is any other places have matched! So I keep coming back for more mad more at the lovely casual and friendly location.

Yelp
+ amazing food; the chicken pomegranate was tender, the rice well cooked, and the salad a bit too sour to my taste, but well flavored overall + huge portion size + lots of vegan + vegetarian option as well + ambience was very cute; both outdoors and indoor seating available + service was fast
google avatar

Ryen B.

Yelp
Ordered Uber eats- fast, fresh delivery Mezze sampler was a nice way to try all the veg-friendly options. My faves were the smoky baba ghanoush and cheese stuffed phyllo dough. Falafel was dry, but the slice of a veggie quiche was really tasty. The three bean salad was ok- fresh veggies, but not a ton of beans. Eggs that were listed on the menu description were missing, only a few cubes of meh feta cheese, and I didn't love the tomato vinaigrette dressing so $15.50 seemed a bit pricy.
google avatar

Yelp
We went to this place for early dinner, and it was a decent place. I ordered hummus as an appetizer, which comes with a pita. The hummus was not the best we've had, and the same goes for the pita. The hummus came with some veggies, which I wish they left out. I didn't like the veggie that comes with it and rather just have hummus. I got the Lebanese Kibbeh and the sandwich, which was a wrap, and both of them were okay. It could be because I'm not used to Lebanese Kibbeh; I wouldn't say I liked the taste of it, nor did I like the sandwich. My partner said it was okay so that it could be good for some people. The soup special was good for the first couple of spoons, but then it started to taste like baby food, and I was not vibing with that anymore. We didn't find anything special about this place and will not go back. The service was also okay since no professionalism is required in SF, and the waiter could be high as a kite, but it could still be alright.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our joint birthdays at La Méditerranée last Saturday. We had a wonderful time! The owner, Alicia reserved a table of 12 for us. I explained to her our needs for an al fresco lunch and she cheerfully and helpfully set it up perfectly. Thank you for making it happen. The manager, Jeff did a very good job taking care of us and the server, Aaron was also attentive. Our friends enjoyed the authentic and fresh Mediterranean cuisine. On the day, there was a band playing for the Art Walk Festival. The music was not very loud. The ambiance and vibe was pleasant. It was perfect - thank you for a fantastic time!

Yelp
La Mediterranee in San Francisco is a true taste of the Mediterranean. From the cozy atmosphere to the delicious dishes, it's a spot I can't wait to return to. Make sure to try their Mediterranean breakfast--it's a delightful way to start your day. Highly recommended for anyone seeking Mediterranean foods in the city.

Yelp
I love La Med honestly it's one of my fav places in the city!! My friend and I went to their restaurant week dinner and for $45 it was SOOO worth it. I've had the chicken pomegranate before but it's such a great experience every time I have it - the chicken is nicely cooked and the flavor mixed with the rice hits every time. We also got to try the lamb and appetizer platter - next time I would still stick with chicken and order the same apps! The dessert was also so good, I definitely had to undo some buttons after this meal but it was such a great experience. The service is so great - our server was extremely friendly and making sure that we were happy and well fed. It's on a cute corner and is very cozy inside. Will defff be back

Yelp
Food is great! Service was excellent! Ambiance was cozy! I will be going back! Vegetarian options are fenomenal!

Kate N.

Yelp
Food was okay. Service was good. Why I write is the pricing is way too much. I'm a retired senior. I was walking in the the neighborhood and decided to stop for a cup of soup, a small salad, and a glass of iced tea. Total cost with tip: $30. Took high for what I consider small appetizers. Will not return

Yelp
A lovely cafe! My first visit was in 1985. After moving to SF in the early 90s, I've enjoyed La Mediterranee ever since. My recent visit was again enjoyable. The service is prompt, attentive, and friendly. The food fresh, tasty, and plentiful. I love the Salad Mediterranee and other vegetarian options. I enjoy sitting outside especially on a nice, lively SF afternoon.

Yelp
3.75 STARS COVID-19 TAKEOUT Anyone remember Rachael Ray's show: $40 a Day? She would tour a city with $40 to spend on 3 meals. If you try to do that now in SF...you better be about that IF life (intermittent fasting). Because after all the surcharges, tax, and tip, eggs benedict and a glass mimosa are the only things you'll be having for the entire day! When you want to eat out in SF on a budget, you need to know where to go... Years ago, my co-worker introduced me to La Méditerranée as one of the best bang for buck restaurants in SF. Pass forward 10+ years, they still are and it's no wonder La Méditerranée was poppin' on Friday. La Méditerranée is open for takeout, delivery, and outdoor dining. Lunch specials are served daily from 11 am - 4 pm. I ordered takeout online via their website. I arrived early and my order was all ready for pick-up. F O O D * Chicken Pomegranate w/ rice pilaf, hummus, green salad, and pita (Lunch Special-$13.95): https://bit.ly/3veI07A I ate in my car so I was a surprised that the chicken was barely warm. The drumsticks were tender but not fall-off-the-bone like the Pac Heights location. The pomegranate sauce was very sour so luckily, I ordered a side of cucumber yogurt sauce (50 cents) to mellow it out. The delicious pilaf was studded with chickpeas, currants, and almonds. I enjoyed the textures and pop of sweetness from the currants. The hummus was smooth and creamy. The salad was fine. The thick pita was ehhh, it was dry and not warmed up (5 pieces). Overall, it was a decent meal. I prefer the Pac Heights location but you really can't beat the price and generous portion for SF!
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
Pass this place all the time and the shakshuka brunch sign caught my eye - so it was on my list to try. Amazing!! The shakshuka was very fresh. Came with hummus/pita and more toasted bread to dip all the yummy sauce with. Also ordered the Greek lemon chicken soup - I always enjoy this soup and thought it tasted really good. The Turkish coffee was good, but I actually thought it would be stronger caffeine wise. I still took a food coma nap after my meal. Lol. Our service wasn't that great though - the team was a bit forgetful and my friend didn't get her iced coffee after two reminders and until our full meal came out. Not many people were there yet too. So come for the food, but service might upset some people lol My star rating: 5 - must go!!! 4 - liked it, give it a try! 3 - it was alright 2 - I probably won't go back 1 - turnaround and run

Yelp
Honestly not very many complaints we have ordered delivery twice now. The food is great, just wish they would use different packaging as the boxes they currently use are impossible to open.

Yelp
When you have that urge for Mediterranean food and you aren't in the Middle East and you aren't super rich either, this is your go-to place. The food is great and the veggies fresh. My daughter and I ordered two dishes and ate family style. There was enough left for lunch for us the next day. The hummus is great. We had the Chicken Pomegranate and the chicken kabob, an side of veggies. We resisted the dessert but I know from "before diet" that the baklava is great. You can't go wrong.

Yelp
Sheer roast-y goodness, there's nothing that satisfies quite like that char-grilled taste. The eggplant for babaganoush, the shredded chicken in the Avgolemono (lemon chicken & rice) soup and I'm sure the lamb and chicken too, not that I got closer than two bites of chicken after watching my son buzz through most of the food. La Mediterranée has very tasty hummus and babaganoush, some of the best in the city. I found their falafel to be a little mealy and the chicken in the Avgolemono was so finely shredded you taste the deep flavor but it's not shredded chicken that adds body to the soup, it's the egg yolks. More than a different recipe, it left me with the impression they're trying to stretch and skimp on the chicken. The bag of chopped up pita bread confused me. I didn't want un-toasted, slightly stale pita bread. Had I dined at their lovely outdoor tables I would've asked for it to be toasted on the grill or at least warmed. Luckily, my plate of dips came with lots of carrot, radish and cabbage slices to satisfy me. The large combination appetizer made a perfect light dinner especially when combined with two falafel that I ordered separately. Overall, I think La Mediterranée's food is very tasty, the roast-y depth of flavor from grilled meats and vegetables and the wonderful zing and brightness of lemon. I'll return.

Yelp
My office team gets takeout from here. We love the filo/phyllo. There's one that is sweet and salty. I think it's chicken with some kind of fruit. And the texture of the flaky pastry is so good. I finally got to try takeout for dinner tonight. The chicken kebab on rice was super tasty. Chicken breast was well seasoned but not overdone, which made me feel healthy. The rice was fluffy and had a touch of raisins for sweetness. Dill sauce on the side. Lots of outdoor seating available. A very alive neighborhood on the border of Castro, Duboce, Upper Market, Noe Street. I got there via the vintage above ground F Muni train. So convenient.

Tw S.

Yelp
Truly bad food. Why does anyone eat here in this era of abundant, fresh, well-prepared food? The falafel were dry as dust and literally hard to swallow, even when dunked in the tasteless sauce. The humus was bland. The rice pilaf contained just a few undercooked chick peas, and the side salad was a small pile of greens with a spoonful of unctuous dressing glopped on top, with no room on the plate to even toss and distribute it. The place hasn't changed in forever, and the food is certainly dated, too.
google avatar

Claudine R.

Yelp
This is definitely one of my top favorite restaurants in the city. The pomegranate chicken is always tender and juicy. I love the rice pilaf and potato salad. I'm usually not a lamb person but they're lamb lule is amazing, I specifically love the tomato sauce they serve it in and I always ask for extra. The service is always quick and kind and I love this location because they have a great outdoor patio in the front.

Rhoda T.

Yelp
Party tray that I ordered got delivered but it was a mess when I got it. Not what I was expecting especially for what I have paid for.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing at both Castro location which is much larger and has a large sidewalk patio- absolutely loved the staff! Fillmore location is classic and a different crowd-- very knowledgeable staff. Food is fabulous and seems healthy and whole food based. Solid on everything I've ever tried and good wine selection for a small menu.
google avatar

Ziyan C.

Yelp
Decent Mediterranean option. We got 4 dinner entrees for about $80 total. I called in for pick-up around 5:15pm and it was ready in about 30 minutes. They gave us a couple bags of little pieces of pita bread for no extra cost. This was a perfect dinner for our kiddos! * Chicken Shawarma $17.50 - 2.5 stars Meat was dry, and this was a little boring (not much sauce or flavors). * Beef Kafta Kebabs $21.00 - 2.5 stars Very dry. * Pomegranate Chicken $18.95 - 3.5 stars The chicken was moist and flavorful. * Cold Cucumber & Yogurt Soup (side) - 3 stars Not too interesting, a little thick as a soup, a little watery as a sauce. * Greek Salad - 3 stars This was fine, not super interesting.

Yelp
Delicious food! The filo wrapped rolls are so amazing! Chicken pomegranate falls off the bone!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the Kebabs! The rice was a great combination and it had plenty of spice (not spicy*). I love Tabuleh. Period. I love the zest and citrus that comes with it it, but the one I got here lacked some "zest". Not that it was great. it was just okay. I give two thumbs up for the chicken breast kebabs. The herbs they had on it was not over done and it wasn't dry. I would definitely recommend this to ANYONE looking for something new or "that looks good"

Yelp
Sometimes, you just have to order the right dish. I've been to La Med on Fillmore. I got the lemony chicken soup and meatballs with tomato sauce and I didn't like either dish. When my friend suggested going to this La Med in the Castro I was hesitant, but my friend was really enthusiastic about the place. This time I got four different phyllo dough things (filled with different veggies/cheeses/meats/seasonings) with potato salad and hummus as my sides (and pita bread). This was delightful. I ended up saving half of everything to take home and the phyllo warmed up in the toaster oven nicely the next day. The potato salad was light and vinegary - not mayo - kind of like a German potato salad. The hummus was very flavorful. The consistency is a little thinner than other places. It was a slower weekday night and they were very kind about us eating and chatting for a long while. We never once felt rushed by the server, and we didn't feel awkward chilling because there was no line out the door. This was all before Covid-19. In my experience, Mediterranean food delivers well - meaning that the food taste and presentation can still be enjoyed from home :)

Yelp
I've been eating at this place for so many years and won't stop ever! It's my go to for Mediterranean cuisine... The Levant Sandwich and Falafel Salad or favorites for sure.... Great crew and the owner is the sweetest! This is my spot!

Yelp
Jeff and Alicia were great to work with. I threw a 50th birthday party on the fly with a 10-day lead on 50 plus people and they came through. I got my quote on the same day as my inquiry. They were fast at answering question and super nice. They delivered the food on time, and everything was delicious. I will be using them again for any parties I have. I definitely recommend them for any party you plan to throw. Everyone loved the food.

Yelp
A Long Friendship - One More Chance I've been going here since 1984. Even after moving to Seattle in 1988, I make this a must on every visit to the city. However our last visit in September 2022 was a big letdown on the food. Service: The service was great and friendly, as usual. They have a parklet outside that allows dogs (we have two) or you can eat inside. Food: We ordered our "usual", the Mediterranean Mezza which consists of a variety of small plates that cover the table. Standards like Falafel, Tabuleh, Armenian Potato Salad, Chicken Celicia. A great way to get a little of everything. However this time, for the first time ever, the food was so so. The Falafel was very dry and over spiced. The Armenian Potato Salad was puréed too fine so the separation of vinegar and herbs became a blend and not a good texture. Aesthetics: this is quite spoiled and picky of me so take it for what it's worth: they used to serve this on sea shells, which added to the mindfulness of the experience. It's now served on nice square edged plates. If the food was still amazing, I would not make this observation. So all in all, as a long time customer I'll go back on our next trip to the city, as it's an old friend and still friendly and I don't kick old friends to the curb over a single mistake. But if the meal is similar to this visit I may have to find a new friend.

Yelp
Eek, this place has really gone downhill. Used to be our go-to spot 15 years ago. Ordered delivery for dinner tonight, because our local place (Goood Frikken Chicken) shuttered. The falafel sandwich was flat, dry, crumbly, and tasteless. The photos make it look like there *might* be tomatoes and cucumbers in it? But it's just dry falafel and some greens. And small. The Greek Retsina wine tastes like dirt. We also got the combination appetizer (ok, but came with a 4lb bag of pita bread!), chicken shawarma dinner (small), Mary's chicken kebob dinner (small), and the baklava (which was one pasty piece, no whipped cream, for $8. Not enough for 4 people to share for sure). All around disappointing and everyone still hungry. Total: $120

Yelp
The salad dressings have soy lecithin. Additives are one of the main reasons we don't go to many restaurants anymore. I want to support small businesses and the staff is so friendly and kind. For that reason I would try again maybe to get dolma or something else that doesn't have additives. ===== EDIT: the manager wrote and was very helpful in identifying the ingredient that gave me a bad reaction (soy lecithin). I can eat soy otherwise but some people are allergic!

Yelp
We got take out because it smells inside this restaurant. The lemon chicken soup, while delicious, was way too salty and an hour later I had to drink so much water out of being thirsty. The Lamb Yule was over cooked and the lamb meatballs were hard, not tender. The humus was pretty good, but what's the five thin slices of carrot for? The yellow rice with the Lamb Yule was good. So, for the $45 it cost? The quality at this long running restaurant has gone down. In my opinion for what you get it's overpriced. The best thing about the restaurant was the host who took my order, she was very professional.

Yelp
My buddies and I came here on a whim during a festival on Castro and it was a great stop! It was a beautiful day and with their great outside seating, it was an excellent stop. I got the Middle Eastern Plate with the Lamb Lule and each component was delicious. I also got the lentil soup, which was great! It was similar to a split pea consistency and paired well with the lamb, rice, and sandwich. We also had excellent service and she was so attentive. The plate came with hummus and she was nice enough to keep bringing us pita Definitely would return here again!

Yelp
I've been in the neighborhood for 10 years and just went to Le Mediterranee for the first time. I had a good experience! During covid they are seating outside. The outside seating is ok. The tables are a bit wobbly and they have only some heaters. The food is what I expected. It's good Mediterranean food. Nothing over the top. I tried a sampler that was a special for Dining Out for Life. The value for the food you get is wonderful! Service was friendly and they did a great job. I'll be back.
