La Michoacana Boyle Heights Ice Cream Parlor

First time here, and I will for sure be back many many times. The ice cream here is delicious and the variety is amazing.

Absolutely love it here. Amazing clean location and friendly help staff. I came here with my 3 kiddos and we all are enjoying our favorite Mexican snacks. My 2 year old got her chicle flavor ice cream. I got a mix of Mazapan, 3 leches and arroz con leche flavors. Let me tell you wow the flavors are all there! Authentic flavors just like what I am used to. My older daughter got her favorite which is fresas con crema. My middle child got her nachos con queso. I love this place and it’s in my home town. Prices are good too nothing is over priced at all! I will continue to come here with my family and I highly recommend you to come and enjoy with your friends and family. ❤️

Food is amazing , some women there were in a hurry when it wasn't even busy and had a little bit of an attitude but are efficient and clean!

Ice cream with fond memories from Mexico! Lots of ice cream to choose from. Paletas and ice cream and much more treats to choose from. Personal favorite: Gansito ice cream/paleta. Staff welcomes you and makes suggestions. Parking is mission impossible. It's in the heart of Soto and Cesar Chavez cross street. Thank you and God bless!

The manger has anger issues there is never parking. If you go and apply so been told that the lady only hires her preferences or family. Its always messy there.

I have a sweet tooth and love sweets a lot. Visited this store since it was really close by my house and gotta say the customer service is great and caring. They're very attentive to what their doing and are very easy going.

Food is great, everything tastes fresh, very clean environment. Josue is always greeting us with a smile. Highly recommend the fruit bars and aguas frescas.

Delicious Ice Cream every time but today was really upsetting. Tall dude with hat and glasses looked very disinterested in helping us. He rolled his eyes when asked to try an ice cream flavor. He also kept a really straight face and wanted us to check out before we were even done ordering. I will stop coming to this location now.

Everything is really good, BUT why can't they ever answer their dam phone? I called for 10min trying to add something and not once did anyone answer. Really frustrating.

Ordered tostilocos thru UberEats tand they didnt even put the pork skin. There's only jicama, cucumber, mango, tamarindo Candy, and Japanese peanuts. Crepe was also cold and didn't even add nothing on fresas con crema. The worst!! Never ordering from here again

El servicIo es horrible. La Sonora fue bien grocera y sabe tratar ha la gente. Hice orden por door dash y me falto mi Agua. La senora dijo que no hice orden alli. Le leye el recibo y dijo que le dio la bebida al que hiso el door dash. Y me dijo nimodo Nunca volvere ordenar de aqui I ordered thru doordash and I was missing my drink but when I called the lady she said I never ordered from there. I read the receipt out to her, then blamed the doordash driver n said he forgot my drink. Not only will I never order from there, and that lady could've at least been honest... horrible service If you're an owner, FIRE N REPLACE, the lady's attitude is HORRIBLE

They served me an ice cream on my long hair. I ordered, they offered to refund my entire order so I went back instead of filing a dispute with my bank, when arrived they gave me 3 dollars then got mad because I told them why did they offered the full then only want to refund 1. Now I need post after trying to be discret. The manager had a bad attitude. There's other places you'll get hair less ice cream and they'll hold on the attitude

Hay una senora que para todo dice "senorita", tiene el pelo amarillo y es muy grocera con la gente. Si no le gusta trabajar atendiendo gente ni deveria de estar hay. no sabe tratar a los clientes, siempre esta de malas. ordenamos un esquite y lo lleno de chile. lo tuve que tirar a la basura. una fresas con crema y ni pregunta como las quiere uno. esta senora es muy grocera todo contesta. deberian de cerrar el local si no saben lidiar con quien lesda de comer.

Poor customer service they are so rude, I do not recommend going there although the ice cream is good and they have the worse employees working for them.

This is probably my favorite Michoacana location! The Hot Cheeto Esquite his the spot every time!! *insert drooling emoji* I also love their cucumber agua fresca, very refreshing! I like to mix it with their watermelon agua fresca too and so bomb!! They recently starting doing tortas, which I have not tried yet but the pictures do look really good. I will say that this place has been getting packed lately.. I used to be able to go in and out within a few minutes but not anymore. I usually call in my order and stop by to pick it up, I work close by so I usually don't have enough time to wait in line Overall great location! I've tried so many Michoacana locations and this one never disappoints!

Bomb clean looking little Mexican ice cream shop. Really good service they have a bunch of different variations with Cheetos that you can do. I for one was in the mood for some ice cream. They have tons of Palatas and also authentic Piasa flavored ice cream; like abuelita chocolate, Tres leches. I am a sucker for Oreo cookie so you know your boy got that cookie monster

You guys suck my gf (Arely) ordered right now on Uber eats and they gave her the wrong order. Didn't even get her refund. ‍

Don't get me wrong ice cream is good food as well but service is really bad. Some of the employees are rude and give you attitude. Also I was charge more than the receipt said.

Es un lindo lugar pero pésimo servicio y producto. Una señora con pelo rubio me atendió muy groseramente, mi helado de fresa con queso o cheesecake tenía un pelo negro. No se molesten por pedir en Uber a mi roomie le salieron gusanos en su paleta con chocolate y nueces o esquimales como le dicen.

First off, it was fantastic service! I came in with a group of coworkers. After the server had learned it was our first time, he was very enthusiastic and excited about explaining the menu and the ingredients. I had a lime chamoy with a complimentary cucumber water. Everything was great they have so many options for desert and snacks. I am not familiar with the area so I was unsure if the place has its own parking, so prepare to park on the street.

We were driving home from Long Beach and I was craving a popsicle (paleta) dipped in chocolate with peanuts. To be fair I've been craving it for quite some time but the Alhambra location is out of the way for me. Parking on Cesar Chavez is usually a nightmare but we got lucky- no circling today. There was a line, but I've never been to a La Michoacán's without a line in the summer. It moved fairly quickly- a lot depends on the people In front of you. The teens got a Strawberry and Cream, Strawberry Peaches and Cream paleta while I got a Coco one dipped in Chocolate with peanuts. Prices are good- extra cheap. I think my chocolate dipped heaven was $3.50 which was perfect since we went out for sushi before and that bill was far far away from this one. Hopefully we will get lucky again. It's good my days off are during the week. I bet on weekends the place is nuts. No pictures because it went directly in my mouth.

I have heard of these places but haven't had the chance to try one. Came for the grand opening and man, they know how to party. The set up with te banda in the back was great. Loud!!!! The paletas are what we went for and they did not disappoint. I had the mamey because that's my personal standard for paleta flavors. It was delicious! I recommend it wholeheartedly. The strawberry, the nuez quenrada and the arroz con leche were also purchased and each was delicious beyond expectations. Great shop. Welcome to the neighborhood.

So sad to see all the bad reviews! I've been at this location maybe one or twice, I've never noticed bad customer service and trust me, I'm a STICKLER for customer service lol. I order through door dash since deliver charge is only .99 :) prices are higher though.

i asked for crepes and they gave me a stare and ignoring me. The crepes were stale and hard it was honestly awful. They Took so long literally like 45 mins just for them to get me 1 Crepe i asked for 2 and i only received 1.

Horrible customer service No sense of urgency went in there and left with nothing because they were preparing online orders. I completely understand that but I don't appreciate the staff ignoring us completely.

One of my co-workers suggested that we try La Michoacana in Boyle Heights! It didn't take much convincing for me to oblige to try a new ice cream place with a bunch of great reviews! street parking is scarce, so its probably best to carpool if you are going to go in large group. I was honestly like a kid in a candy store but then I realized it was an ice cream parlor which I was equally excited about with so many options! they also have food that you can order too. The guy that helped us was also really patient as we asked to try all of the selections that they had to offer. I ended up settling on the sandia con chile (watermelon with chlie), the consistency was that of like gelato mixed with shaved ice. I finished it in about two minutes it was that good I almost got another one! The staff member that helped us out also gave free agua frescas because it was our first time. At the time they had four flavors to choose from, I ended up goin with the cucumber fresca. I don't live close to Boyle Heights but whenever I am in the area I will definitely go to Michoacana for ice cream!

I come here pretty often, around 2-3 times a week. The service here is pretty awful but I'm passive with it as long as I get my cravings. But today was extremely unpleasant, Gisselle (the girl who took our order & helped me at check out) dropped the Elote on the floor and I don't know what she was thinking for her to still bag it!!!! I told her to please take it out and she insisted for me to take it. So awful.

Love love love this place! Nice employees, HUGE selection, DELICIOUS drinks and not to mention that the interior is immaculate. Treats for a family of 5 and it only cost $17! That's a deal!

Recently moved into the area so decided to check this spot out. I was disappointed coming here. I received stale chips, the Chamoy gummy worms weren't as good or spicy like other spots. Unfortunately will not be coming back.

Went in to get a mangoneada and came out with some pink cream based ice cream with chamoy and mangos. It was terrible.

I feel like the corn was not fresh . Should've waited for the corn man to pass by , his corn is always fresh . Idk felt like canned corn or old . Overall everything else was good but never will order corn from here again

First time here, the staff here is so helpful and very professional. I wish I could've remembered the wonderful young woman's name that helped me! She was so sweet and very helpful. It's amazing to know they have 20 popsicle's that are VEGAN FRIENDLY! And several ice creams that are as well. The guayaba flavor was so delicious, with the perfect amount of sweetness. I also got a lime popsicle so refreshing, especially for a hot day like today. Even if you don't live close by, they'll give you a bag of ice. I also purchased a kiwi strawberry one, but that ones in the freezer till later. Thanks lovely staff, I'll be returning here more often.

This Michoacana is not the best. The staff always seems to be wanting to be somewhere else. I've visited this location many times and the items are a hit or complete miss. I got some nachos today and it was more like I got some tortillas chips with a squirt of cheese . The prices are already high to not be given what you pay for. The fresh waters are delicious. Just wishing the items were more complete than just for show on the top sand im not just talking nachos, I'm talking about the corn, the chips and the Sunday's.

Today I had the pleasure I. Attending the grand opening of La Michoacana of Boyle Heights. What can I say. The location is right in the heart of Boyle Heights adjacent to many businesses that cater to the community. The establishment was clean and offered every flavor on the menu that looked amazing. I tried the Mangoneada and various types of ice creams and they were to die for. The staff was welcoming and I felt good here. Thanks La Michoacana of Boyle Heights.

Best place if you have a sweet tooth. There are plenty of options like ice cream, nachos, fresh juices, corn, and crepes. Very bright and clean with friendly staff. Family friendly and great music.

TBH I am super excited this spot is nearby me. Second time I come and bring family to try it out and everyone is happy with the product. We recommend you try the gansito paleta mazapan, and the guayaba, BOMB! I will definitely keep coming back! Update: We went second round after eating our paletas and got the maracuya ice cream, bomb!! Only one thing we werent happy with was the esquites, no flavor to it so work on that staff please, cause they were so blah.

This Michoacana is not the best. Ice cream was good, but the customer service was terrible. Employees have no interest in being there, and you can feel a weird vibe. I asked for nachos and was told cheese wasn't ready but I could have it in a cup and I can make it at home. Such a nice place to have bad service.

This location is very nice and clean and their ice cream is delicious but I rather drive all the way down to Huntington Park for La Michoacana Plus because the associates here are rude as hell. They have the shittiest attitudes. All they're doing is scooping balls into cups/ cones the least they can do is be hospitable towards customers that are actually spending money. Never coming here again.

Ditto to the previous reviewer who mentioned the terrible service. The young woman who "helped" us was super rude. Asked if they had an item and she told us coldly "the menu is behind you." Um... okay? Doesn't really answer the question. We were going to look at some ice cream but she rushed us down to the register? Treated us like we were a burden. No problem! We'll go somewhere else next time.

I was hesitant to go here due to all reviews about horrible customer service... but my experience was nothing like that. The girl who helped us was very friendly and nice, and the cashier was the same. Offered me some of their drinks and mentioned they were very good. Honestly, they did look good but I was already spending $20 so maybe next time. Will def come back again.

I don't know why they have workers that get upset if someone decides last minute they want to add something else. I was there a couple of weeks ago and one of the workers there was ringing me up when I asked for something last minute. She looked bothered. Not only that but when I asked for all my stuff to be bagged up cause I was gonna walk home she didn't bag one item. She kept saying no and that she's gonna have to charge us cause we didn't pay for it and after showing her the receipt she was just like oh okay. Her customer service is the worst!

Worst customer service .. I had stop by to grab tostilocos and also grab some ice cream... my ice cream was serve but not my tostilocos it started to get busy and apparently my order went missing. I saw other getting there orders before me and was wondering why I waited so long and I had to go up and just get refund because this is some bullshit thing. The guy ( apparently he's the owner) at first didn't wanted to he wanted to give my tostilocos for what waiting so long while others were getting there orders ( he said that we needed to serve them first) I flipped because one I had pay already and 2nd he had the nerve to say that while I was waiting for a while and seeing others before begin made .. than said we could add something towards your order and I refuse it and he gave up and gave my refund. Honestly if you wanna run a business make sure how to do costumer service.

Carnitas are thee best. Cant order anything bad here folks. There is a reason why people risk their lives waiting in line in my old hood....JK, it's safe ....during daytime.

Ordered a crepe, said they would need to make more of the mixture and asked if I was okay waiting 10 minutes. I agreed and continued ordering a Torta, esquite, and mangonada. As they were making the torta I asked if they could put extra tomato and the girl says they're out of tomato, but she had not mentioned this while I was ordering. After waiting about 15 minutes the girl says they now have to wait for the crepe machine to warm up. Not sure why they hadn't preheated it while making the mixture. The heating took another 20 minutes because the girl then went to the back and started taking phone calls. I mentioned to another girl that I was okay just not ordering the crepe as it was taking a while and she says oh it should be ready and went to call the cashier I was working with. Overall waited almost 45 minutes. The mangonada was melting, torta and esquite were no longer warm. Not worth the wait, and people who ordered after were not waiting as long even though they had bigger orders because their cashiers didn't just walk away to the back.

This place is awesome the flavors the service been coming since they opened and man oh man the only negative thing is it's not diet friendly. But for the type of experience you will have it's worth the sacrifice. If you are Hispanic or know of some of our amazing contributions to snacking this place has you covered and then some. Gansito Ice Cream yup! Mexican Hot Choclate Ice Cream yup! Rum Raisin yup! Some favorites cotton candy ice cream is out of this world. You won't be disappointed give it a try.

Customer services is great and staff are friendly. They're paletas are BOMB! Try queso con fresa & maracuya. Definitely addicted to coming!

My first time there since it's opened. The staff was very kind and helpful. They even gave us a free scoop of a flavor we kept looking at cuz we were undecided haha. It was very nice inside and the painting inside is beautiful. The flavors were ok, some were interesting to try like the Mazapan and the gansito.. I expected a little more "out there" kind of flavors but I'm sure in time they'll come out with different flavors but I definitely will be coming back. Also, my kids loved the paletas!

Im always very patient and understanding when ordering food items for delivery. I'm paying for a service and can't predict what will happen. I rarely give bad reviews because I try to see the positive in everything. This is the 4th time I order from this place which is why I didn't write a review before, because all three times were horrible. Thought I'd give it one last chance because after all, it's La Michoacana, before converting to Daisys Biónicos, but here we are. I'm giving them a ZERO STAR. All four times I've waiting over 2 hours for my order to arrive. The worst part is they don't remake the items so they're at least fresh. The biónico llega caliente con la fruta toda aguada. Im extremely disappointed in this specific location. I live in the middle of DTLA so it's the closest to me. Sad, but oh well. The staff over the phone was nice, but that doesn't get my items here in good quality condition or in a timely fashion. Trying Daisys Biónicos from now on because it was either one or the other closest to me. I tried...FOUR TIMES. And for those asking why I don't just drive there...like I said, I live in the middle of DTLA, I ain't driving nowhere when delivery is available.
