They don't open at 6 am sometimes . Sometimes you have to wait 30 minutes . They should change they're hours to 7 to 9:30

Perk: if youre in a diet its good because smaller portions than other michoacanas. Taste: Least tasty of the michoacanas i have been to Service: ok

This place is not good. Went in person to order to go and still got our order wrong and when I called to speak to a manager they gave me the run around. I will never go back the food did not taste good at all.

These stores have it hard with HEB and Randall's among other larger grocery chains. But, we still like to shop here, they have a great variety of meats and some that are not carried at the larger stores. It's usually easy access and cashiers are very knowledgeable on the items you're buying. I'm glad La Michoacana Meat Market is a part of our community.

The steak fajita is the best I’ve had in Austin. I highly recommend them! Also, I’m blown away at some of the negative reviews. This place is fantastic. Their homemade salsa is top level as well.

Bought chicarones con carne which I had been craving for a while. It wasn't bad but could have been less oily it was pretty chewy, hard to bite off. Ordered 1/2 lb of carnitas and barbacoa from the restaurant with limes onions and green Salsa for $11 It fed my hubby and I, so pretty good price I'd say. If I'm in the area I may go back but wouldn't go out of my way to do so.

This place is awesome! The caldo is huge, and only $5.99! The gordita was also excellent. The service was fantastic, everyone is really friendly. Make sure to wash it all down with an aqua fresca.

Well let me start just by saying I have been to michoacanas before in south Texas and different city's. We decided to go because we know these meat markets are awesome when we entered it look disorganized in all type of ways in the meat market there was a lot of confusion. They were cross contaminating my meat after they were finally getting my order right I ask for some tripas that were already cooked ready to eat as I observe a Cuban guy come from attending the meat section take his glove off one hand didn't wash his hands comes and serves me a pound of tripas goes back and weighs them on the same scale where they weigh fresh meat and to top it off some fall to the side he looks around and puts them in my bag!!!! It's the worst michoacana that I have been to very dirty. I should have took pics.

This store was very clean and the staff was very helpful. I got some small groceries and also some marinated fajita meat and it was very good! Produce section was very clean and organized. You can also order food and sit down to eat on one side. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely will be back!

No Mas. I had a credit card issue one time, but I don't go there for my meat. I got plenty of meat at home.

Great place! Very Mexican... enjoy their cafe and butcher shop.They have ingredients to make your next Mexican dinner successful.

The taqueria in the back is one of my staple lunch spots. The pastor is consistently good and the tacos are cheap and come with more meat than anywhere else. They aren't quite as good as the Round Rock location that uses charcoal to cook the pastor, but they are still really good.

A vegan walks into a meat market.... Stop me if you've heard this one. I like this place so much, because it reminds me of growing up, and the little market that was around the corner from my abuelita, who always gave me stuffed animals from the claw machine. She was really good at that game. The produce section isn't huge, but the cucumbers are. Seriously, like porn star huge. They carry several different hot peppers (only place I've found manzano peppers!), and lovely looking avocados. Michoacana also has lots of colorful pastries and fun groceries. In the back of the store, there is a large meat butcher shop thing. There's all different kinds of meats, even ready to cook, seasoned stuff, like al pastor. They have super giant chicharron, like you could wrap a baby in it. Everything is cheap, and there are sales, too. Like giant jalapeños for 39 cents a pound. And they carry Venado, the spices, herbs, chilies and dry fake meat company. This store is just charming, from the bakery, to the produce, to the taco area, to the tamales up front. It's just cute. And they have a nice selection of hot sauces, too. Sometimes, a guy will stand out front in a nice Charro suit, bolero tie, and fancy hat. And that is awesome, to be able to wear that in Texas in July, and not die from heat stroke. Good for him.

I've been to several Michoacana's, but this one was one of the nicest I've seen. And by nice I mean, clean and organized. The staff here is very helpful and if you're nice, they can give you the best cuts o' meat to take home and make you go 'MMMMM'. Close to home and cheap merchandise, if Randall's doesn't have what I need for my Mexican meals, La Michoacana will.

Great butcher shop. Very outstanding. If you don't speak Spanish just be a little payment, they will work it out with you.

La Michoacana or La Mich' as some like to call it is a good place to buy meat... yes it is. I grew up getting meat at meat markets so to have places like this in Austin is real nice. They have good produce and most of it is reasonably priced. The Tomatoes, chiles (peppers), onions, cilantro, limes and squash are usually pretty good- the other stuff not so much- this location doesn't have as big of a produce section as the other ones. The meat is in the back. They have great marinated meats, great prices on different cuts of meat and you can always let them know not to give you the stuff that is too fatty. They even have whole fryers that they will cut up for you if you need them to. They also have a really great selection of Mexican cheeses- some queso fresco or queso Oaxaca is soo gooood!! Oh and now a days they have the number dispenser- which is great- cause before you had to kinda be ready and prepared to not miss your turn or have someone sneak in before you and believe me you don't want to compete with the Mama' of 5 who is there to buy 15 pounds of meat or more haha so the number dispenser is good. Speaking a little Spanish or making an effort does help! Tuesday is when they have most of their specials BTW! Great tacos at the food counter and sweet bread is good if you go early enough!

Hmmm... I speak Spanish and I still had to call 3 times to get a price on prepared weekend Carnitas, seems that the Spanish speaking man answering the phone on this Saturday morning 6/10/17 doesn't know the pricing of the items in the store and will answer the phone although he has people in front of him that are checking out. Waited on hold after he answered and I asked him the price question, he left me on hold for over 5 mins the first time and when I called back a few min later he answered again yet he hung up on me. Great customer service! I called back a third time and thankfully a female answered that knew the pricing. Thank you! Please consider keeping the employees that are unfamiliar with the store products and pricing away from the answering the phone and if they must answer the phone then they should know how to transfer the phone to another more knowledgeable employee. Thank you, from a first time customer new to the area that you almost lost, that will use your services for catering and other large orders in the future.

Great selection of fajita meats. Great pastries. Wish they sold freshly made tortillas, though. Be careful when visiting, I've read of a number of incidents happening in that shopping center's parking lot.

I love love love the food in this place! Even their carnitas are delicious compared to other places'. May I say that their Flan Napolitano is EVIL!!!!! I probably have a slice every week! I just loooooooooove it and I have told them so! The ladies in the kitchen really know how to cook real Mexican food. Their gorditas are delish! The only think I'm not crazy about is that if you want to use your credit card you have to purchase $5.00 worth. I'm glad there's one close to work and I go there and buy me some food!
