Where To Have A Date In Williamsburg

"La Milagrosa is a well-kept secret, and this is partially because it’s behind a fake laundromat on Havemeyer Street. Technically, this place is a speakeasy - but mostly it just feels like a small, casual cocktail bar where you can actually have a conversation. Although, if it’s a weekend, you might end up on the tiny dance floor in the back." - bryan kim

15 Unique Bars In NYC

"From the outside, Mezcaleria La Milagrosa looks like a laundromat. It even says “Havemeyer Laundromat” on the awning. But walk inside, and you’ll find a fake storefront with a host in the back who’ll lead you through a fake freezer door to a dark, wood-paneled space that’s about the size of a medium U-Haul. And, despite the fact that its been open for a while now, this place still kinda feels like secret. Bring a date, and you’ll immediately look two to three times cooler than you actually are. You can grab a good cocktail and hang out at the little bar, or you can make use of the minuscule dance floor beneath the disco ball all the way in the back." - bryan kim

15 Hidden NYC Bars and Speakeasies Worth Seeking Out | Eater NY

"La Milagrosa, a speakeasy and mezcaleria in one, lies behind an apparent freezer door in a Williamsburg deli. The narrow, woody space specializes in agave-based spirits used in drinks like a just-smoky-enough mezcal margarita. The hip-yet-friendly crowd is usually lost in conversation or bopping along to an eclectic music mix provided by rotating DJs." - Eater Staff

17 Top Tequila and Mezcal Bars in NYC | Eater NY

"How to outdo all the other ultra-hip New York faux-speakeasies? Williamsburg’s La Milagrosa answers that question by putting its cozy, dark, woody bar behind a deli’s freezer door. The staff and lounge itself are surprisingly laid-back, and drinks home in on mezcal, including in a smoky yet zippy margarita. Excellent rotating DJs take over the speakers, leading to impromptu group dance sessions." - Paul Schrodt

Best Brooklyn has to offer, hidden gem with amazing music and friendly crowd.

Under the radar speakeasylike mezcalaria hidden behind a bodega like storefront has some of the best music and mezcal in Williamsburg. The space is very small and intimate with an incredible Macintosh tube powered sound system and often features some of the best musicians in NYC. Check out Wednesday evenings for live jazz music that is on the next level.

Cool little cash only speakeasy. The DJ was great. Would recommend coming here for the DJs. It was vibey for sure with the fog machine.

Tacos on point, service on point. Enchiladas were lackluster - boiled chicken (unseasoned) rolled in corn tortillas thrown in an oven with some sauce.... Meh. had to smother it in salsas to give it some life. I'd go back for drinks and tacos though.

A tad pricey, but! It’s an inclusive and respectful crowd every time and the djs have also been wonderful. The bass is what unites the limited capacity room amidst a thick fog-machine haze. Check it out

Cool enough spot but the woman working the front was INCREDIBLY rude, and for no clear reason. I empathize with her for the pent up anger she clearly carries, but she shouldn’t be taking it out on the customers. She wouldn’t give it up either and took her sweet time ranting at me about how “the neighborhood has changed and it’s because people are on their phones.” I literally only asked her how much cover was for 3 people and she blew up because I “didn’t ask her how her night was going first.” She also asked me if I was from NYC or not and proceeded to chastise me for not being born here.

Cool electro music but space is super small. Anyways, the bartender was friendly and mezcal negroni was great.

Woman at the door is aggressively rude and sits around waiting to start fights with customers for no damn reason (see other reviews below).
