The Miami Pastelito Power Rankings

"If you put swimsuits on the pastelitos from Nueva Fe, you’d think they were part of a tanning ad campaign. The golden exterior shimmers from all the butter that’s folded into the pastry dough. The outcome is a pastelito so delicate, the flakes start trickling down with nothing but a stern look. It has an edge-to-edge guava-to-pastry ratio that makes each bite gooey and crispy. If you want to introduce a newcomer to the pastelitoverse, this is a perfect example of how a great one looks and tastes." - mariana trabanino, virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer

La Nueva Fe Bakery Review - Hialeah - Miami - The Infatuation

"La Nueva Fe is an old school Cuban bakery in Hialeah. They specialize in traditional cakes and sweets, including some of the best buñuelos we’ve ever had. The twists of fluffy cassava dough are fried and then drenched in rich housemade anise syrup. But don’t be fooled by their simplicity, these buñuelos are the only ones we’ve had that have ever come close to Abuela-approved status. They also have great fried empanadas. The ham and cheese ones are the best, using a perfect ratio of ground ham to queso fresco. " - Yuliet Llanes

**La Nueva Fe Cuban Bakery: A Slice of Authentic Cuban Delight** La Nueva Fe Cuban Bakery is a true gem, offering a delicious taste of Cuba right in the heart of the Hialeah city. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the warm, inviting aroma of freshly baked goods that promise a sweet escape from the ordinary. One of the standout items is their guava pastries, which are nothing short of perfection. The flaky, golden crust encases a generous filling of sweet and tangy guava, delivering an authentic Cuban flavor that transports you straight to Havana with each bite. Their cakes, too, are a must-try, boasting rich, moist layers that are beautifully balanced in flavor and texture. Beyond the food, La Nueva Fe excels in every other aspect. The prices are more than fair, offering exceptional value for the quality you receive. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, making you feel like part of the family from the moment you step through the door. The bakery itself is spotless, with a clean and well-organized layout that adds to the overall pleasant experience. In short, La Nueva Fe Cuban Bakery isn’t just a place to grab a quick treat; it’s a destination for anyone who appreciates high-quality sweets and authentic Cuban flavors. Whether you’re stopping by for a guava pastry, a slice of cake, or just to soak in the atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed.

Google
I am so upset, not only has this placed.changed drastically. I remember as a child and adult this place always busy full of customers. This place looks like it's about to go.out of business. There barely no pastries. The cheese pastelitos are not the same. They used to be caramelized on the top. I ordered a pan con vistek to go the steak is rough it dose not have flavor. Why would anyone sell something they dont know how to.make. I am so upset waste of time and money. I dont recommend anyone to go to La Fe Bakery until they acknowledge the importance of quality. It's very sad to know the name is there but that's about it.

Google
This place is disorganized. Waited to be served and had regulars be attended while I waited. Zero attention to customer service so I left. Gave this review now because it's the third time this has happened here. Not coming back.

Google
This little bakery has the freshest baked goods. They are always so busy, that the baked goods don't stay on the shelf for long. They take special orders for any occasion. Have been coming here for years! Limited parking, but worth the wait.

Google
Love the guayaba in the chocolate señoritas‼️ They don't make them anywhere else, I find. I know it's rude maybe to show the bite mark but then you couldn't see the inside ☺️🙃😋

Google

Yelp
Croquetas are my favorite here. Everything else it's just average and typical Cuban bakery stuff. The staff is quick to attend but getting good service is a flip of a coin. Sometimes great, others not very pleasant. This looks and feels like any Hialeah bakery that needs some TLC since it looks like it's stuck in 1998. Parking is terrible and sometimes dangerous because people driving on West 4th Ave confuse it with the Daytona 500 race track. But it's worth it for the croquetas. Here is a pro tip: croquetas are $1. But 25 party croquetas is around $8 as of this writing. But you get so much more for your money. If that's too much for you, just share them with friends or family...

Yelp
This place is my go-to for birthdays. I have never ordered a cake so I can't speak on that but their pastelitos and croquetas are delicious. I normally call ahead to place my order and it's ready when I pick up. They make the croquetas on the spot so they're fresh. I highly recommend for your next party.

Yelp
Still the go-to bakery whenever I'm in town and in need of a Cuban bakery fix. Love their ham croquetas, sandwiches (pan con bistec, croqueta preparadas) & cheese pastelitos. Parking can be a bit tricky with limited spots in front of the bakery and backing out into a busy street when you leave.

Yelp

Yelp
Best place for Cuban bread and pastries. They have great deals when you buy a sheet cake and get a tray of mixed sweets like guava pastries, cookies, etc.

Yelp
Terrible service. The older lady is very rude and condescending. The pastelitos have gotten very bad. Not sure if there has been a change in ownership but I definitely don't recommend.

Yelp
La Fe Bakery used to be one of my places to go when I used to live in Hialeah.... I used to love coming here to have their baked goods. It was one of my favorite bakeries in the area and I have to say I truly miss it as I have not found a good bakery yet in Homestead. This bakery has a huge assortment of deserts, cakes, meat pastries as well as sandwiches, cafe con leche and Cuban toast/bread. This weekend I was hankering for some good Cuban bakery goods and was able to get a platter of bocaditos as well as ham croquettes... absolutely delicious...tears to my eyes missing this delicious. And of course how can you not go to a Cuban bakery and take home some mouth watering Cuban bread.... Wish they would open a branch near my house.

Yelp
Bakery items are great tasting, staff can be friendlier parking if terrible. Good prices

Yelp
A little far from where I was staying, worth the trip. True Cuban bakery. Got a sample of different sweets for a dinner later on ( capuchinos, cuernos, tocinillo, señoritas, pudin de pan). We tried most of them and were delicious. Somebody ordered a "pan con bisteck", the aroma & the sandwich looked inviting. It's also a cafeteria.

Yelp
When visiting clients early morning in Hialeah, La Fe Bakery the foto place for breakfast. They have a huge assortment of pastries made fresh everyday. I often order a cortadito made with evaporated milk and also the ham and bacalao croqueta. One other pastry I suggest you try is the paste LITO de queso with coconut that absolutely incredible. Definitely 5 stars for the Hialeah bakery!

Yelp
When I get to Miami the first place I go to is the Cuban Bakery! No joke! I don't get to eat amazing pastelitos, Cuban Bread or these types of desserts back in New York so this is a super treat for me... When I tell you that this place has whatever you can ever dream off and freshly made of anything and everything I am not exaggerating... I have been to a lot of Miami/ Hialeah bakeries in reach for the best and finally this place is my ultimate favorite!!! This is what I usually get: A box of: 6 Croquettes 4 pastelitos de carne 4 pastelitos de guajava 2 pastelitos de queso 1 slice flan 1 slice panetela borracha Total: $10.35 Really guys! You try topping that for incredible pastries and desserts! This is my Miami tradition and I will continue it forever :) Good Bakery Eats!

Yelp
I came in to order the $19 cake and pastelitos special - and when I asked them to NOT decorate it (less labor and cost) I was charged a fee, I had to pay them to do less work. That makes no sense.

Yelp
Way to expense, and parking is horrible I understand new owners from China have a diferente mentality not a Cuban bakery anymore besides not that good prefer other Cuban bakery

Yelp
I'm guessing that my bakery standards are possibly a little high. Born and raised in Hialeah we have one on every corner and this is really not a good one. The prices are really expensive I was a little shocked. The average price for a colada is 1.25 this is 1.50. A large Cafe Con Leche of evaporated milk is $5. Their pastries are definitely small and nothing special they are pretty much in line with the ones you get at Publix or at Winn-Dixie. It has nothing that would attract you to go in there and make a purchase. I give it three stars because I don't think it's right to give anybody one or two stars unless the people were just nasty and the place was disgusting and this is neither. They're just not a good example of s Cuban bakery

Yelp
Love the pastelitos and croquetas here . Super fresh . And cant beat the cake specials
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
I'm torn between giving them 5 stars and 1 star. First off this place is solo en Español and they don't even try to speak English. The service is chaotic and slow as can be, partially because they're crazy busy and partially because they are super inefficient. I think they are crazy busy, though, because of their inefficiency. Also the place is super small. That's enough of the negative, now onto the positive. Their prices are awesome. We order party platters of 75 medianoches and 75 croquetas and the price was right around $60. The food is awesome, with them having the best croquetas. It is doubtful I would ever go back mostly because of how far away they are.

Yelp
I am writing a review hoping to help those that are tired of those dried cuban pastelitos that u buy in the worse bakeries. This is the best pastelito place for parties you can ever buy! Trust me, there is no turning back once you buy these for your next party. The croquetas and bocaditos are like no other!

Danyer P.

Yelp
Used to be a great place with good Cuban bread. Not anymore. Cuban bread is bad and Tostadas aren't made fully toasted. I go here when I have no other option. They need to improve the bread and toast.

Yelp
This is my family's go-to cuban bakery. Big, clean and always busy. Great fresh selection, even at closing time.

Yelp
La Nueva Fe Bakery in Hialeah is the most delicious (Cuban) bakery in the history of the world! Ok, a little over-exaggeration never hurt anyone. Of course I'm bias. I have a strong connection with this bakery. It's extremely personal. That's all I'm gonna say. Los pastelitos de guajava and cheese are the best thing that will ever touch your tongue! REPEAT: Los pastelitos de guajava and cheese are the best thing that will ever touch your tongue! Buy a entire tray of them. The prices are affordable for fresh food and desserts. It really doesn't get better than this.

Yelp
Thank God I don't live near this place and can only go every so often. Their cafe con leche is hands down the best ever and their cuban toast is just perfect. Not to mention their bakery selection is great and very tasty. Oh that Cuban bread is a perfect combination of toasty on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Parking is an issue as its a very small place yet very popular in the area - to me it's worth the wait every time!

Yelp
I went in to pick up some stuff for my family. I asked if two particular items were dairy free and both women who were at the counter shrugged their shoulders and said they did not know, everything comes in containers and it's labeled on the containers in the back. I asked them if they could please check the containers so that I can bring something for everyone. They told me no! They then said no the two products do not contain dairy after telling me they were not sure if the products container dairy or not. I asked to speak to a manager and both women pointed at each other! So not only did they both lie again but they couldn't even get a manager to help me when it came to an allergy and each said the other was the manager! I asked them what they do when someone comes in and wants to buy something but has an allergy and they responded that people who come in to buy eat everything and are not picky.. again this was about an ALLERGY and not me being picky!! They told me to just go ahead and buy it and that everything would be fine. I told them if I buy it and it ends up making someone sick that they will then be at fault and are liable because I am clearly asking to avoid a possible food allergen. These women were extremely rude and unprofessional!! I have frequented the bakery for years and it's sad that I need to leave a one star review but it's even sadder they could not take a minute to walk into the back and look at a label. I have never come across an issue like this at any other bakery or restaurant. They did not care about a potential allergen that could've made someone very sick. My family and I will never support this business again! It's a shame!!

Yelp
Horrible service, food is old . you ask for the owner and he will never show his face. employees are very very rude. i ordered a tray of bocaditos and they gave me the ones they had on the refrigerator instead of giving me fresh ones (well i guess there were no fresh ones because all their food is old) this was for a school party they ended in the trash can . i called the bakery and ask for the owner one more time but he didnt want to come to the phone. if you dont want to get sick stay away from this place !!!!
google avatar

Brenda C.

Yelp
Their pastelitos are jammed packed with filling ingredients. Not stingy on those pastelitos de queso, which are my favorites along with croquetas de Jamon. Yummy all around
google avatar

Yaset G.

Yelp
Great place real clean and the have some of the best cakes in Hialeah

Yoly U.

Yelp
Not sure what is going on but the carne, croquettas and empanada taste really bad lately. To the point we have stopped going and had to try a few other bakerys including Vicky. Imagine my surprise when my pickiest child was okay with Vicky and not La Fe.

Yelp
ok, so this will totally reveal my roots. i am a hialeah girl, 100% born in hialeah hospital, raised a block off la cuarenta y nueva. that being said, now that i live so far from my roots i miss these pastelitos like crazy. the first time i ate their pastelitos de queso, omg...it was just SO good. everything i've tried from here has always been delicious. i am planning a trip w/ my hubby one day just to get a taste of their yummy pastelitos again.

Ayi N.

Yelp
The pastelitos were tasty, but the ham croquetas are probably the best I've had in a long time.
