10 stars ⭐️ We came from Chicago. We’re known for having really good food out here, and we can say this food was definitely 10 stars. Really, really good. The food came out fast, and the staff was super nice too. Fresh squeezed juice.

Great food and friendly staff. The atmosphere gives you feeling of having food in Mexico I suggest trying the Taller the Cheaper Tuesdays special, we enjoyed this game and got a good deal on our final bill

A low 5? It’s pretty great food in a fun atmosphere with good service. Just takes a long time during busy hours. Might speak to the genuine effort they put into the food. The taste was fantastic.

THE BEST MEXICAN AND Salvadorian RESTAURANT IN Hollywood. Everything here from the tacos the albondigas soup is on point you feel like family is cooking for you but it's elevated and clean. Truly one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. Call ahead they can be busy but the food is truly phenomenal. So much love to you guys for the great restaurant great atmosphere and the family experience.

Delicious food is such a great menu with a wide variety of different flavors and dishes. Service was amazing, and the atmosphere was so peaceful... for bein in LA, it's a great place where you can have great food at such an affordable price. 👏👏👏

I eat tacos every day and this place is the best in Los Angeles! always great meat! When you get a taco, they bring salsa and chips while you wait! very nice waiters! the cook is great too! I'm always happy when I come to this place! even the music plays is pleasant!) very clean! there is a place to wash your hands before eating! and the price is nice! I definitely recommend it! 5 stars ! The owner of the restaurant definitely needs to raise the wages of his employees! they try their best!❤️

Just I was thinking the tomato salsa was not spicy but was spicy to me I put a lot on the popusa and was hard to eat the food I don’t like spicy food .,

YOU CAN'T GET BETTER!!! I can't wait to go back!!! This food is AMAZING!! Tiny, sweet, festively decorated spot on Vine Street in Hollywood, La Numero Uno is my new favorite Mexican/Salvadorian restaurant!! DELICIOUS, fresh, homemade tasting dishes at very good prices! By far, THE BEST Mole I have ever tasted!!! The Goat cheese and spinach pupusa was sooooo good and tasted as if they JUST made it! We shared the 3 enchilada plate with mole which were packed with fillings (chicken, beef and cheese!) and rice and beans to die for! My favorite was the Carne Guisada (Like a beff stew) which had lots of veggies and melt in your mouth, super tender meat. The ladies who helped us could not have been nicer!! YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE - - It's wonderful!!!! PS - - they do not have a bathroom - - not sure how a restaurant can do this in this day and age, but there is no bathroom for customers.....they do have a hand washing station. Go potty before you go --- the food is worth it!

Ok ok, so this is one of my favorite spots to eat in Hollywood! The food is always great quality and fresh! The staff is attentive, but not always speedy with service. The restaurant is small so when there's more than a couple people inside it does feel crowded. I have ordered from both the Mexican and Salvadoran menu (mixed culture menu) and all have been exquisite! I came with my buddy who is actually Salvi and he told me the food was up to his standards when ordering food from "the motherland" lol. The prices are about average for what you would expect to pay in Hollywood, but I would say it's worth it because I always leave happy and satisfied! The only reason I have this place a 4 star review is because they lack a public restroom for paying customer's which in this day and age is absolutely necessary. Hygiene is important! I would recommend this place!

The food is sooooo good! I had the garlic shrimp omg we are def going back my whole family really love the food One thing lol we need a bathroom in that place but with the food being so good a bathroom really doesn't matter lol

The food here is outstanding! My coworkers and I frequently order takeout from this place, and we've never been disappointed. Our orders always arrive well-packaged with all the necessary condiments. We've ordered from here more than five times now, and everything has been great. We typically go for their pupusas, but let's not forget their caldo--huge portions that come with rice and tortillas, easily enough to feed two people. Yuca con chicharron is another one of our favorites.

Amazinggg food!! When I tell you their sauce, their rice, everything is chefs kiss couldn't have asked for better food and the ladies that work here are super friendly as well. Great atmosphere as well!

Small shop with only a few tables. They have a large menu with a lot of dishes to choose from, but it's confusing if you're not familiar with the cuisine. I ordered a few different kinds of tacos. The food was not bad but nothing amazing either.

We stopped in for Saturday lunch before a flight home. The wife had a taco plate that was served like a fajita platter with chicken, Al Pastor and chopped beef. Included rice, beans and guacamole with cilantro. It was outstanding. Very traditional but comfortable and pleasant to hang out before an Uber to the airport. I had a beef dish sautéed with tomatoes and onions, also with rice and beans. I also received two thick homemade corn tortillas which were excellent. I'm so glad i did some research before we decided to stop in. We had a great experience before finishing our last vacation day in LA. Don't miss this authentic opportunity on Vine.

Service was great the food was unbelievably delicious and super fresh ! My husband got an agua de ensalada better than anywhere else I have tried. You feel like you're in the motherland with the decor. The food literally was as good as my mom and tias!!!!

Doesn't look like much when you're walking by and it's all alone the only reason we stopped cause it was open and surgery alcohol. The staff were very kind I believe family owned and the food was flavorful. Great place for some small tasty bites and to kill some time. You can tell they poor their heart into their food . I would recommend. I promise they won't disappoint. It very homey and inviting . It great for a party of 6 to 8 . Nothing was over priced . They price well for the portions.

My dad and I stopped here on a Friday evening craving Mexican food. We parked across the street with metered parking for $1.50/hr which wasn't bad. With ample indoor seating and a few outdoor tables despite a small restaurant space, although they unfortunately do not have restrooms. The service was great and space beautifully decorated with Mexican accents. My wet chicken burrito was really large and delicious with a mild red sauce, lots of sweet peppers and onions inside complementing the shredded chicken, and a great deal for around $14. My dad enjoyed his chile relleno at a similar price with a side of rice, beans, and homemade corn tortillas all included in the similarly affordable price.

Pandemic update! 4 stars for consistently delicious taste and friendly service; some dining oddities. *** I went to an event nearby and walked here for an early Saturday dinner at around 5pm. The tables and chairs were inexplicably drenched in water. We picked the driest table and wiped it down with napkins. DRINK ORDERED - Horchata ($5) Tasted a little gritty, with cinnamon but also something like chicory. Not bad, but also not my favorite. APPS/SIDES ORDERED - Beef pastelitos ($9 - 3 pcs). Crispy corn dough empanadas stuffed with ground beef, potatoes, and peas. They reminded me of samosas. The tomato sauce it's served with honestly tasted like watered down marinara, which seems weird on it's own, but the mild tomato and onion flavor works well with the pastelito. - Plantains ($6). Still going strong. They are starchy, toothsome, sweet, and sticky. PUPUSAS ORDERED All come with cheese inside. The handmade corn masa was soft and pillowy, not too thick. While the pupusas were piping hot and good, they forgot our curtido! I ate what I could off of the pastelito plate, but it wasn't enough. The tart and peppery slaw would have contrasted nicely with the richness of the fillings. - Shrimp ($5 each). The priciest, and also my least favorite. The shrimp itself were good, not mealy, but somehow lacked synergy with the cheese. - Loroco ($3.50 each). I liked the mild vegetal flavor the best. I've never had loroco before and was afraid to try it when I looked it up (the root is poisonous, the flowers are not), but I'm glad I did. - Steak ($4 each). Not the most tender meat, but still tasty. ENTREES ORDERED - Camarones ala diabla ($18). Served with rice, refried black beans, and warm tortillas. Delicious! The shrimp were big and plump, swimming in a creamy umami sauce that almost reminded me of vodka sauce. I didn't think it was spicy, but I still wanted to lick the plate... too bad we were in public. - Chicken enchiladas ($14 - 3 pcs). I chose the mild red sauce, I thought the dish was solid. It comes with rice and refried black beans.

I was craving pupusa really bad 'cause my Salvadoran friend is in El Salvador and she's been posting all these yummy looking pupusas so I decided to look for pupusa and this place was the first that showed up in my search. Well, I'm glad I didn't decide in the second option 'cause this place is the real deal! First of all the decoration inside caught me off guard as it looks very Mexican festive and they do have many Mexican dishes on the menu even on the day's special. But your girl wanted to pupusas so I saw they have the regular masa, blue corn, rice and yucca masa pupusas I decided to venture and try the yucca pupusas. Ohheemgeee! They were delightful! I left that plate clean. Those pupusas were so tasty really! And the filling was perfect that I got some on each bite. I even order some regular pupusas to take home that same day. I love how they bring you chips and salsa while waiting for your food. I had the pineapple drink witch chamoy and tajin which was yummy too. Both ladies working there were on top on their games attending customers dining in and taking to go orders out quick. I'll definitely come back and/or order delivery from here. The place does make honor to its name, they sure are number one! Sadly there's no restroom on site and street parking only.

Food was really good... the queso con loroco pupusas are really good. The service was great. My only issue is the sauce for the pupusas is a little spicy (not for me) but for our 5 year old daughter.

Oh my goshhhhhhh. This place was such a surprise. Coming up from San Diego, we knew there was a plethora of good food. We found La Numero Uno via Yelp and saw all of the raving reviews and definitely knew we needed to try it. We ordered 5 tacos and chilaquiles verde con carne asada. And lawd let me tell you. This was THE BEST chilaquiles I've EVER had. Even coming from the land of Mexican food.. and having had some amazing chilaquiles.. this place surpasses it all. I don't even know how to praise a plate like this without ordering a second... but goodness. Goooooodness. The verde was amazing and packed with flavor and heat. I dumped all the complimentary red sauce all over it and punished myself - but in a good way. The tortilla chips weren't soggy at all and ugh. It was the brunch of dreams high key. Tacos were perfect and packed with a ton of flavor. Limiting it to 5 was probably a good and bad thing. We wanted more! The chorizo was so perfect. Carnitas were off the chart. Carne asada on both the chilaquiles and tacos were perfect. The ladies in the back know exactly how to make a great meal, even if it's super simple. Their service and attentiveness was amazing. Especially for such a busy place like LA, they were on top of it... they hustled their to go orders out just like they hustled sit ins. We absolutely love this place and will definitely be back next time we're in LA.

Nice small establishment with a small menu and great food. Had the fajitas and it was full of flavor. Just enough heat with a taste of citrus. Never had fajitas with so much flavor! Highly recommend this place. Price right!

We ordered tacos al pastor and de asada. Also ordered queso pupusas & cola champagne. Tacos are presented nicely and they are edible. Not much seasoning on it so be sure to ask for extra sauces or spices to your liking. Service was great and its a quiet ambiance located at a walking distance from Hollywood Blvd.

Tough carne asada! Not the best cut of meat. I like the homemade tortilla, variety on my plate and lively music videos. Also, there's no restroom available. I don't think I'll be back. Next worth time and money.

We went to get a quick bite to eat, initially planning to get something quick like McDonalds or Los Pollos Locos. Randomly stumbled upon this quaint spot and figured why not? We started off with some chips and guacamole, which the guac was fresh and had a nice spice to it. Our entrees were the Plato Mixto and carne asada, and we also got some Horchata to wash it down. I was impressed with the variety that came with the Plato as well as the portions of food for under $20. Overall, I'd recommend this spot and we were glad we went.

I'm just getting here at 11:24 am. I realize it's early but it was just very unwelcoming coming in here. We sat ourselves since no one offered to help us, ( the place was empty except the workers). Finally after about 2 - 3 minutes of sitting down, someone asked if we were dining for here. Gave us some menus and then basically ran away. Another server escorted a family to a table and then came to us for our order. The first server came in quick, right after her to try to take our order but we let her know, just like the second server, we weren't ready yet. The second server came back with some chips and some really hot salsa. Not a good tasting hot, just spicy for no reason & the chips are stale and unsalted. It's now 11:35am and we're waiting for our order to be taken. As BOTH server keep peeking out to look at us but no one is coming to check with us, even as we're looking back at them. Pretty close to leaving and finding somewhere else. I ordered a horchata and my partner got a canned coke and I still have yet to receive my horchata as she's almost done with her soda. Holding on for hope that the food is good. 11:57am - the longest wait for food. The table that came after us is already done with their food. And we have not received anything, I only got a burrito and my partner got a pork plate. Will not be coming back. Even good food can't change this review.

Their burritos and papusa are super. We've dined in and have ordered for delivery, and each time, it's been great. Hot tip, if you like spice, get the orange spicy sauce.

Im only giving 3 stars because of the food, however my family and i went and my sister is on a special diet she took her own container to go eat with us. We order she had her container out there already. Nice we got our food the owner came by and said we couldn't bring food from outside she didn't even let us speak into why she has her food there. I understand they have their rules but why wait until we ordered we could have gone elsewhere. So service wasn't really the best. On top of that they don't have bathrooms to use. So on that note service is trash and so is communication. Other than that the food was pretty okay.

I got two pupusas. The queso and loroco and the queso and asada! Sooooo good! Been looking for a good pupusa spot for a while now. This one is it! Also, their salsa's and tamales..... YUM! Will definitely be back!

The food is really good and is pretty authentic and the service too, they do take some time but it seems they they cooks some stuff while you're waiting, there is street parking and it has a nice Latin American vibes. I Love pupusas and Salvadoran food.

Ordered a huarache de a pastor and it was absolutely delicious Limited seating but the small outdoor front patio is cute. Would definitely recommend this place if you are craving great Mexican/Salvadorian food and good service.

Yes, I'm reviewing this restaurant again. It IS THAT GOOD. . Plus I forgot about it for at least a year and am so happy it's still open. Once again, Sopa de Gallina India will be the best you've ever tasted. It's love for the immune system but also the taste buds. Chile relleno filled with chicken was great. Main thing is the tomato sauce--so so good. You won't get a review here that uses phrases like "on point" or breaks down the menu as though it's a wannabe 2 star Michelin restaurant subject to undeveloped tastebuds. Ugh. Especially if I'm ordering takeout. If you like delicious food, this place provides. I'm still enjoying the hint of smokiness on the chili relleno while waiting for the best bone broth ever made to cool down. I have to get over my ordering rut to enjoy more of the menu. I stumbled upon this place when in LA for an obstacle course back in 2018, and today I stumbled upon it again...when in LA for an obstacle course race! I guess it's meant to be - this is now my pre-race dinner go-to when in LA. Great food, a lot of movement but mostly takeouts these days it seems. Nice little neighborhood hole-in-the-wall, decent price point compared to just a few blocks away at the tourist intense streets... Had the chicken fajitas this time, great portion size, flavors on point, juicy chicken. Just be aware that this place has no restroom! So plan accordingly.

Everything was just so good. You can taste the love that was made with it. Nothing was greasy or over cooked. Just straight perfection. Service was amazing. Didn't have to ask for much because they brought everything as needed. The atmosphere was peaceful and felt very homey. I will be back !!!

Best Pupusas I had in LA was at La Numero Uno. The main question was, what to fill inside your Pupusa??? So many combinations. Pupusas from La Numero Uno Salvadorian/Mexican Restaurant are just mouthwatering yumminess! It was my second time here, and they did not disappoint--still the same authentic and homemade feel--so many different Pupusa filling ideas, almost any combination that can be chopped-up or mashed-up. My preference was the "Revuelta Pupusa" (bean, cheese, and pork). It was nice to see so many vegetarian options too. It was tempting to try the goat cheese, Monterrey cheese, and Spinach filling - a modern twist. Pupusas are made to order in about 15 minutes and served with a fresh, crunchy Curtido relish (Salvadoran cabbage slaw). Each bite had a generous amount of filling and oozing melting cheese. The Restaurant seems to have inside seating once before, due to COVID, they are receiving orders at the doorway. A small seating area and 2-person tables are outside on the sidewalk. A quick note about the Menu: The menu is very cluttered, and so much to see on 1 page. They really should have a menu just for pupusas, so look at my pictures if you want to find them more accessible. I enjoyed the Pupusas at this place. I would make this a regular thing if I lived here.

This is a Hollywood gem, the food it's incredibly authentic, I love the chilaquiles, the flautas are crunchy and very flavorful, everything taste fresh and homemade, service is great and friendly, I highly recommend to try this restaurant for its authenticity!

I looked up place on fly where I really didn't get to look at food. I just assumed that it would of been really authentic and good quality. -star no bathrooms -star food -star quality Dishes we ordered weren't great and prepared the lazy way. I got chilaquiles and it was chips out of the bag. They should of just called it "no cheese nachos" My mother in law got steak and meat was very tough and overdone. Guacamole seemed old it had a weird taste. Juices were water down too. It was a cute place over all I just wished the food was better quality and more authentic.

Yum yum YUMMMMM!!! Their pupusas are top notch!! I love the bean and cheese pupusa and my bf loves the Revuelta Pupusa (bean, cheese and pork) We also love getting the yuca frita !! Mmmmm. I love supporting this small local business :) Sometimes the phones can be wonky so try a few times and they should answer!! Keep ordering and supporting esp right now. We were initially gonna just grab something quick from Los Pollos Locos across the street but randomly ran into this quaint spot on Vine. The service was hospitable and the ambience was clean and chill. Started off with some chips and guacamole. The guacamole was fresh with the perfect amount of spice. We then had the Plato Mixto, Carne Asada, and some Horchata to wash it down. Best part of the Plato was the chimichanga, but having some of everything was nice. Overall, recommend over any mexican fast food in the area if you're willing to spend a little more (around 15-20 per person).

Really delicious food. We had a chicken and a beef soup and they were equally delicious. We also had the chorizo and potato burrito and that was yummy. Everything had great flavor.

Went here on Saturday around 6 pm for dinner . We found a cozy table on the patio. Their indoor is not open yet . We were seated immediately . There was plenty of meter parking on the street . The order is taken inside at the register . I would suggest they take the order at the table , since they don't have that many tables , they should be able to manage it I think . Ok, I'm not a Salvadoran food pro, but I went with a Salvadoran friend . It was their first time too and they assured me that it was pretty good. We ordered: One pupusa with beans and cheese. It came with the sour cabbage topping and the sauce . It was not greasy or dry . Just the freshest I ever had and very tasty. We also ordered as main course, the bistec encebollado and camarones rancheros. I did ask for the steak to be cooked medium but it was kind of well done in my opinion. The dishes were both pretty tasty and big plates . We had ensalada and tamarindo to drink . The lawas friendly and she also provided a good service . Overall, I do recommend this place for the food variety and the good quality . My real rating is 4.5 but I will give them 5 hoping for some minor improvements for my next visit :)
