Delicious food served up in this bare bones spot. We had the lamb and tripe tacos and both were amazing. The lamb was especially good. The jamaica was also tasty and refreshing. The service was super friendly and helpful especially since this was our first time. Will be back for more tacos and to try the consume!

The meal was good, but there wasn't anything memorable compared to the other restaurant options surrounding this that have more items, sauces and drinks as a variety. The meat is prepared well. I'd imagine just getting the food to go as your best option for this place. The atmosphere is only ok. The menu has items with incorrect prices. At least the chips and salsa were mixed with the guacamole and chips prices. I think as a specialty items place this is great, but there's great Barbacoa a minute away. As a family place, maybe not so much a place I'd bring my kids back to. Our server didn't ask what sauces or meats we wanted on our items we ordered. I will come back to try breakfast, but I couldn't see myself coming back others with tons of options only seconds or a minute away that are all authentic for the East side area.

The food is delicious. The quality is good. I went today and was disappointed to find they only have 4 options. The menu & photos are misleading on apple maps and google. Online it shows pictures of so much more. The price is high. & Their to-go option is inconvenient & unorganized; especially because they missed items in a simple barbacoa & consomé order. 🙄 Also the restaurant is located in a sketchy side of town. Really want to show my support, but I recommend they look at their business in the customers perspective. Needs attention to detail.

We get barbacoa all the time from here! Saturdays and Sundays is when they sell it, freeesh! Definitely one of the best places around the area. Kind of pricey, but the meat is always good 👌🏽

So delicious, everything fresh and homemade, from the aguas frescas to the barbacoa! Enchiladas, soups, flautas, nachos, everything has been so good, every time! They do beef barbacoa, which is best when you get it with the consommé, which comes with garbanzos y arroz (chickpeas & rice!) There's also a fruit vendor outside on Sundays, with a sweet little selection of Mexican goods at the peak of ripeness. Support small! And do yourself a favor, check 'em out!

Authentic barbacoa tacos. The pancita taco is not for the faint of heart, but was muy delicioso! As was the lamb taco. Highly recommended.

The lady was very good to my cousin and I, gave us free food for we were waiting kn our family to get there. The service, great. The food, loved it. The only thing about it is that there is a Crack on a certain window, and you can feel the cold wind blowing on your back. It didn't bother me whatsoever, however, if you get cold easily, you will feel it. Also, the main door keeps on staying open.

Big place, the food is amazing. Not much on the menu. But the sheep tacos are delicious with consome. Good for a hangover.

So so so good! We had a few tacos and the amazing broth. We will be back for sure. I am so happy we found an authentic barbacoa.

The barbacoa is absolutely incredible. The first time I eat real barbacoa outside of Mexico. It's legit, tasty, delicious. I wish I could say the same for the consomé.. oh wait I CAN! The consomé is also fantastic, properly made and full of taste. You gotta add onion like cilantro and a squirt of hot sauce to it of course. Probably the best food you can have during a hangover, nothing better than this. I've eaten here twice, once at the restaurant and once to go; both times I can only say good things about the service, the waiter was very kind and friendly. The owner is not just kind and friendly but also had a great time talking with her while my food was ready. She even gifted me a desert on the house! Absolutely fantastic place to eat; I will be coming back to try their tamales which I bet are legit and delicious as well.

The best experience, this place has the best hospitality and service extremely knocked it out the ball park. I would most certainly bring family, and friends! They really made it feel at home they provided on the house rice pudding that completed the cherry on top with such great tasting food. Ambiance is great and employees are attentive to see if you need any other items.

Really good lamb barbacoa tacos. And Pancita, which is organ meatier, and also incredible. The tender corn tortillas are freshly made and so are the salsas. Oh yeah, I actually go here mostly for the consome, Delicious .

Changing my five-star review to....another five-star review! I've been in a few times, and everything is always fresh and flavorful, and beautifully presented. Tacos, nachos, truly some of the best I've had in all of Washington, and this has been a deliberate search for me. The barbacoa with consommé is always good, and I loved the pozole. And I love the tamales!! They are "estilo Oaxaqueño," which means how they make them way down in Oaxaca: wrapped in a banana leaf and with some nice flavors you don't usually get in the traditional corn husk tamales. Definitely try them if you've never had them before! I can't wait to go back for chilaquiles.

Barbacoa is the specialty here for sure! It's a must if you're in the Tacoma area. I had the burrito plate and man it went beyond my expectations. Definitely recommend this spot. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The Mexican music is always a plus!!! I'm bringing the wife next time !

Wow, this food was amazing! The taste of the consomé reminded me of one straight out of Mexico City, as well did the barbacoa!! The service here was fast and friendly, the hostess was very sweet! She welcomed us and gave us some recommendations. As for ambiance, we went on a Saturday evening and it was very quiet and not busy at all, our food came out fast! All in all, if you are looking for amazingly authentic mexican food in Tacoma, this place is a MUST!!! We will definitely be back for more

Best authentic FOOD around. Their Barbacoa is amazing.. very reasonable prices... they care about the food they serve you and it shows in the quality.. we won't go anywhere else from now on.

I had a really negative experience here. The food was not up to par, the order was wrong, and the atmosphere was not hospitable. They were training a new employee so I give them some slack but there was just nothing positive. Price was also different from menu but again cutting them some slack with covid.

Once you go here you simply won't go anywhere else. They only use fresh herbs, nothing dried. Their street tacos have zero gristle and aren't the nasty dry things some places serve up. They have strange hours, at least for now, so call to make sure they're open.

Seriously the best consume and tacos de barbacoa for miles! If you haven't tried the camarones a la diabla you have to try them. They have such a unique flavor of chilies and spices that they are the best I've ever had in a different way. The red hot sauce is super spicy and delicious. The staff is always very happy and helpful. Hands down best authentic Mexican food in Tacoma area. They also serve tortillas a mano (handmade) which is a plus in its own form.
