"When you walk into La Parolaccia Osteria, you might feel the urge to say things like “ciao bella” and take pictures in front of some Roman pottery. That’s because this restaurant looks like a villa in Tuscany where servers greet their regular customers with consensual cheek kisses. Most people come here to feast with a group of friends, but there are also a couple of candlelit two-top tables that work well for a lively date night. Beyond its charm, you should visit La Parolaccia Osteria for their wood-fired pizzas and well-priced handmade pastas that deliver big flavor. Our favorite dish is their velvety tortellini alla panna, which arrives with a thick dusting of freshly shaved parmesan and tender-chewy al dente noodles. " - garrett snyder, nikko duren, brant cox

The deliciousness of this food hits you full force! They knew it was good and served it with confidence. I recommend the ravioli cacio e Pepe and the pappardelle in a saffron sauce. Good to make a reservation. I arrived at five thinking there would be plenty of space so early but had to wait half an hour.

La Parolaccia Osteria serves one of the best pizzas in Long Beach! Every visit feels like a culinary treat, thanks to their consistently high-quality ingredients and authentic flavors. My personal favorites are the Sofia and Romana pizzas—both are an absolute must-try! Whether you’re craving a classic or something a bit more unique, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Google
Excellent restaurant!I often go there with my family. I went with family again last night- we had a reservation. We got there sooner and the lady in the front was so nice and on a busy Friday they accommodated us fast. The food is beyond description delicious. Everything we tried is always delicious and you can tell it is fresh. I personally love the smooth and easy homemade tomato sauce they use, the crusts and homemade pastas. You can tell the employees care about the environment too. I got to use my Italian language too a bit. My little girl was hungry and cranky and Antonio brought water, called her princess and soothed her right away. The rest of the dinner the whole family was in good mood and enjoyed amazing food. The server ladies were super sweet and shout out to them too! The whole time they came and asked if we were ok. So all in all, the food and the service = excellent!!! Whoever owns or manages this place knows how to make a client happy.

Google
Service was phenomenal and the food was delicious. Pasta made from scratch and the rest of their menu items are a must. Try the pappardelle.

Google
The only true Roman pizza in town. Cool collection of classic Italian vintage 2&4 wheel vehicles! For serious Italian aficionados, the rest of you please go to all the other cool pizza places in town! AND they have an awesome bartender who makes fantastic cocktails.

Google
Great, relaxed ambiance with delicious food. We split 3 pasta dishes and the Bomboni con Salsiccia E Tartufo was the stand out. The Margherita pizza we got was also very good! We went on a Saturday night and they were very busy, but overall we enjoyed our experience.

Google
I had high expectations coming here since it seems there is always a long wait at night. We had a reservation so we did not have to wait long to sit. Our server was nice but it took over 10 minutes just to get water when we sat down. The food was okay but nothing that blew my mind. It was more like something mediocre that i could have made myself at home. The drinks were fine as well. Indoor atmosphere was extremely loud so it wasn’t easy to have a conversation. I honestly would not come back here again.

Going here is like being transported to Italy with American waitresses and waiters. The food is authentic and amazing! Will definitely be going back anytime I'm in town.

Yelp
Randomly stumbled across the restaurant. When we were in the area. What a gem!! It's a very quaint and cozy restaurant. I've been here a few times and they are very consistent with their dishes and service. My favorite pizza is the Sofia. They load up on the prosciutto and burrata. I'm a truffle lover so my favorite pasta there is the Ravioli Ai Funghi. For the quality and portions, I would expect their dishes to cost more but to my surprise they are actually not overpriced at all.

Charissa S.

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends and was able to try a few of their pastas! The pasta noodles themselves were great but the sauces I feel like were lacking in some aspect, hence the 3 star. But the service was solid and the place itself was great. Here's the breakdown of what we got: - marione: the seafood itself was good and fresh! but lacked salt so we needed to add more salt for more flavor. - pappardelle e burrata: I really wanted to love this one but the flavor profiles together were just a bit off. The short rib was braised nicely, but I think the mix of the cream and the burrata kind of made the sauce taste a bit like a hamburger helper (not necessarily in a bad way). The pasta itself texture-wise was excellent! - linguine porto rosso: was cooked well but again lacked a bit of flavor even in the pesto. I will say my POV is bias solely on the pastas so probably would try the pizzas themselves since that's what most people rave about in other reviews.

Yelp
Such a cute place! Gives very homey vibes and the owner was super sweet and welcoming. Pizza was solid def have to order one for the table. We tried the sfigata and it was super yummy. Pasta: I tried 3 and honestly only thought one was worth ordering. Lobster ravioli was ok meh...I got the pappardelle e burrata based on the good Yelp reviews but I did not like it and do not recommend it. It wasn't bad but it was nothing great. Gave me roast beef vibes and wasn't super flavorful. My friend got the bomboni con salsiccia e tartufo and it was bomb lol. Def recommend that one...the pancetta and truffle gave it so much deep flavor. I want to go back just for that pasta!

Yelp
Went here after having it be recommended by a couple people. Made reservations via phone. Street parking. Pretty empty at 6pm on a Wednesday. Fast service. Food was fresh and flavors were great. Would like to try their pastas. Pizza was thin crust. Got a glass of wine, 2 appetizers, 1 pizza and 1 pasta for $100. Fed two of us and had leftovers of pizza and focaccia. Inside is designed cute with old fashioned cars. Felt chilly in the back room we were in so maybe bring a jacket if you get cold easily.

Esther H.

Yelp
Food was good. Some homemade pastas were better than others. Service was fantastic. Fun little place. They really take care of you. It's a hoping place. Gets busy quick.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Absolutely divine! We didn't have a reservation, so we did have to wait. However, they have a standing bar (very convenient) and the time quickly passed us by! Once we sat down, our server was so friendly and knowledgeable. He guided us to the lobster ravioli and my God we almost licked the plate! Fantastic food and wonderful time at La Parolaccia Osteria! :)

Yelp
We were so excited to try this place after seeing the rave reviews. We came around 6pm on a Saturday and waited about 25 mins. Once we were seated we ordered bread ($2), Caesar salad, papardelle e burrata, papardelle alla vaccinara. The crust on the bread was hard and the dipping sauce had no flavor at all. The caesar salad was delicious. Both pasta dishes were good but not great. They needed some seasoning, salt, something other than meat and pasta. If there was some flavor I would definitely give it 4 stars but it lacked flavor for us so that was disappointing.

Yelp
Located on E. Broadway, is La Parolaccia. We had this a year ago, when we were last in the 213. The problem is, last year this would've been a 5 star review. It just seemed everything was just off. Service was lackadaisical. Server seemed not into it, maybe something on his mind, who knows. The once fluffy, chewy, 00 flour pizza, now was super thin, and super crunchy. Just over done, with no chew. Toppings really lacking. We paid $17 for 4 mozzarella slices fried, $17, come on. The Cacio E Pepe had sausage and just over powered the simplicity of the dish. The homemade bucatini was great. The tiramisu was wonderful again. I ordered a cappuccino with it and received a latte once I was done. The waiter was apologetic and said they just had purchased a new machine and couldn't figure out the frothing. Latte was good and he took it off the tab, but like I said, everything was just off. *Get it all figured out and it'll be right back up to a 5 star, can't have this spending close to $200*

Yelp
La Parolaccia hits every time. I've visited this restaurant for years as a local and there hasn't been a time I've eaten here (dine in or take out) that I didn't love. The pizzas are a must and they have a great selection of pastas. I recommend coming in a large group to be able to try more than one time. There are no reservations so you'll have to time your arrival accordingly. Weekends and weeknights are the busiest. 10/10

Diana S.

Yelp
Had a late lunch here before dinner and they were booked. We sat at the bar in front of the oven where we got to see all the pizzas be made. What a fun time to pass while we waited on are food. Waiters were attentive and quick. Good did take some time to arrive but totally worth the wait. We had the Timballo con Carner - the meatballs were so soft and the whole dish perfectly mixed. And the Ravioli Ai Funghi - the cream was so buttery and delicious. Stuffing just Devine. Can't wait to come back and try their pizzas.

Sally W.

Yelp
What's more to say than the food is great, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is friendly? Definitely expect a wait during peak hours if you don't have a reservation because the restaurant gets insanely busy on weekends. On this visit I tried the Testarossa pizza and spaghetti alla carbonara. Both were really good! My favorite part about the menu is that it uses simply pure ingredients to make insanely delicious food. Friendly and really good service. Excited to come back!

Yelp
If you haven't tried this restaurant, you're truly missing out! This was my first visit to this restaurant and I am left in AWE and anticipating my next visit. I walked into a quaint space, rustic brick design with all things Italia inspired. The food was exceptional, like no other Italian food I've ever tasted. I started off with the Insalatina which was so fresh, light and refreshing. I then tried some soft, fresh bread with a magnificent ragu sauce. Moving on to the Burina Pizza which had just the perfect amount of spice and tasted amazing! Next was the Bomboni con salsicia e tartufo which was a flavorful pasta with fresh ingredients and was splendid. To end my visit I had the bread pudding and affogato which were exceptional. The restaurant was clean and our server was personable, attentive and offered great recommendations.

Lynda C.

Yelp
First of all my husband and I love this restaurant. We come here often and have never had a bad experience other than tonight. My husband ordered the special. It was Filet mignon and prawns. He was extremely disappointed. The fillet was about the size of a slider and so thin and the prawns were very small too! Except for the legs and tentacles (which you don't eat and I guess were left on for presentation. He was still hungry after his meal. He had never seen a filet mignon look so pitiful. We definitely won't be ordering that again. Next time we go we will probably just order the lasagna it is to die for.

Maureen H.

Yelp
delicious food- great ambiance- servers are friendly We have been a few times and they are consistently excellent.

Gustavo B.

Yelp
This restaurant is my favorite for Italian. Great Roman style Italian dishes. The pastas and pizzas are authentic to what you find in Roma. Everything from the sauce to the soft consistency of the pasta to the basil and burrata is quality tasting. Inside the restaurant is actually a lot bigger than from it appears outside with about 4-5 dining areas.

Crystal G.

Yelp
Cute environment, didn't take long to be seated, yummy food & quick, attentive service!

Patrick C.

Yelp
This place was really food really good started off with the funghi of u like mushrooms goat cheese and garlic it's fire. I had the Ravioli Di Astice E Gamberetti and it was real good. Other got Gnocchi Zafferano which I didn't get to try. The little one had spaghetti he loved it. Tips Make reservations and find a good parking spot had to park around the corner

Stephen P.

Yelp
One of the top Italian restaurants in Long Beach for a long time now! Never disappoints! Actual Italians work here. We had the Fettuccine Napolitane, it's a dish from Campania, Diced angus beef, grilled artichokes, Sun dried tomatoes, garlic tomato sauce with a touch of cream. Delicious to say the least! Perfect to pair with a pizza. For Pizza we had The Totti. Half Pizza / half calzone Tomato sauce, salami, sausage, mushrooms and arugula. It's great to share, the sauce and crust are amazing. The servers are very polite and knowledgeable of the menu. They have outdoor seating, we brought our dog. The restaurant is in a neighborhood, so there is limited parking. But you can always find a spot. It makes for a great atmosphere. If you want to sit inside or have a group, it's best to make a reservation!

Jake D.

Yelp
It was our first time at this restaurant and I'd like to share that it was a great experience. We sat at the pizza oven bar area and placed our order. On future visits we'll make reservations. Atmosphere, food, and drink was exceptional. We highly recommned coming here. We'll definitely be back soon.

Gaby M.

Yelp
I have been here a handful of times over the past year or two. All times were great except for today. I came to celebrate Valentine's Day. Like many places I feel like the quality has gone down. The pizza and pasta were lacking flavor. I ended up getting food poisoning from the pasta right after. My stomach hurts alott. The waiter was nice. Aside from that it was disappointing.

Chad K.

Yelp
Great pizza, great pasta, and the best Caesar Salad I have ever had. Prices are a bit high, but you get what you pay for. The food is awesome and service was fast and professional. Fresh handmade pizzas in a wood fired oven. We got the Funghi, which was loaded with porcini mushrooms, caramelized onions, roasted garlic and goat cheese. We also got a seafood pasta that had mussels, sea bass, calamari, and shrimp. The pasta dish was good, but I think I'd like to try something else next time, especially for the price. We even got a very good mocktail. The bartender made us up something special - a non-alcoholic blueberry mojito. It was fantastic! All in all, we enjoyed our dinner date and would come back!

Melodie G.

Yelp
The loveliest Italian restaurant in SoCal. Tasty, homey, and how I remember pasta tasting in Rome. Their service is efficient and fast while still feeling quaint and cozy.

Donna B.

Yelp
Went for a friends birthday party. We were a party of 10. This restaurant is a lot bigger than it appears. We were seated in a room in the back. All the pasta is made in house. The menu has something for everyone. They have vegetarian and gluten free options. The service was great. Our server checked in frequently and offered suggestions from the menu. They have a small parking lot in back ( I didn't know this until after leaving, that holds around 6 cars). If that is full you have to park on the street.

Javier R.

Yelp
Our best Italian restaurant. Pizzas and pastas were amazing The staff was great and friendly. With a very authentic and natural feeling inside

Goldwyn S.

Yelp
Went for the first time last night. The Fiat car inside the restaurant was pretty cool to see. As well as the Italian decor. Enjoyed 2 glasses of red wine and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the bruschetta appetizer and the bamboni con tartufo. The portions were large as well which was so nice to see. I wish I could remember our servers name, she was great. Can't wait to go back soon.

Yelp
After realizing my dad's favorite Italian place wasn't open anymore, a quick Google search led us here. It was my dad's birthday and we showed up around 7 on a Monday evening. We were met with a 15-20 min wait that ended up being more like 7 minutes. I ordered and devoured the Italiana pizza. It is a third of three of their pizzas all in one! Margarita, pesto goat cheese and the four cheese, mushroom and pancetta. They were all delicious, but the mushroom and pancetta was amazing, I'd order that pizza next time. The pizza was also large enough that I ate half and shared the rest with my brother and dad. My brother and dad both ordered the pappardelle e burratta pasta (short ribs, burratta and homemade pasta). I had a bite, it was good, but I was happy with my choice. After dinner, they brought out ice cream and a small cannoli with a candle and sang for my dad, cute! We also ordered the tiramisu. I'm not usually a fan of tiramisu, but loved it!! Street parking was hit or miss. When leaving I heard that they also have parking n the back

Ronny F.

Yelp
I had made reservations and boy was that a great move. Saturday night and this place was hopping. Parking was easy ( on the street). But without a reservation, we would have waited at least 30 minutes. The food was marvelous- the only criticism I could possibly level is that it was not clear to me that there is always a protein option on the dinner menu. Service was great and the cannoli at the end was a perfect way to end a memorable meal.

Danielle S.

Yelp
I got the seafood pasta (homemade noodles). Unreal food, ambience, and even better service. Absolute gem in the LBC.

Sid D.

Yelp
This is my third time trying this place and I can say their food, services, and quality has remained top notch. We were in Long Beach for the evening and my other half was craving for good margarita pizza! And this place does it right. Full of flavors, right amount of cheese, and perfect thinness. Other play we ordered was their night special - Lamb Shank over risotto. This dish was slow cooked braised in red sauce and wow that lamb just melted in my mouth. For dessert, we ordered Tiramisu - simply amazing. No words to describe it. We have always loved their food and we will be coming back to try different dishes.

Rose W.

Yelp
It was alright! Ambiance was great, service was friendly and quick, even for a busy friday night. The burrata was very good for an appetizer. We also got the carbonara and truffle rigatoni with sausage. Both were okay! Didn't taste homemade for the pasta; the carbonara sauce tasted more like Alfredo not a lot of flavor there and the rigatoni felt very oily.

Sharona M.

Yelp
I have this place on my list for a while. I decided it was finally time to try it. I called and made reservations a couple weeks in advance. I'm not sure if that is necessary, but I just didn't want to risk it. For a Wednesday, it was absolutely poppin at 7 pm. I tried one of the cocktails - Dolce da vita - it was delicious and strong! We ordered burrata con pesto because it was celiac safe being that the bread was kept separate. For the main dishes, we were able to order the pasta to be gluten free. The pizzas are gluten friendly, so a good option for someone who just doesn't really want gluten. I had the papparddele e burrata and it was absolute perfection. The short rib was so flavorful. The pappardelle was made wonderfully. The tomato cream sauce was mouth-watering. The gluten free dish ordered was the bomboni pasta dish. This was also flavorful and fabulous. For a birthday the server was kind enough to bring out ice cream and sing for us. The restaurant is super cute with art pieces throughout. The restroom was single stall and clean. Parking is street parking but wasn't hard to find during the week. The only thing I wish is different is the ability to just book a reservation online. You do have to call to make one.

Jeremy R.

Yelp
I honestly didn't want to come to this place because I like to suck to the good stuff I know I'm Long Beach. But man o man was I shocked to find out I've been missing out on some wholesome Authentic Italian food. I went with it's nice to add to our list of good places to eat in the LBC. I went with the traditional lasagna and was absolutely in heaven.. My wife had the mushroom ravioli and she was very pleased. We coupled our meal with rosemary garlic, focaccia bread It's a plum pleasing pleasure to add this Italian treat to our list of good places to eat in the LBC. And shout out to Francesca for making us feel at home.

Thea D.

Yelp
La Parolaccia is a fave date night and dinner with friends spot! Amazing food and service. The Romana pizza is my go-to because it has pancetta, potatoes, sausage, fresh mozarella, garlic, and rosemary. Trust me, besties. Everything is delicious!

Nick G.

Yelp
Located on a corner. Signage for parking on the sides and front of the building. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Ordered the Squid Ink Pasta and the spaghetti with meatballs. Both were unique in there on ways. The squid ink pasta was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Homemade and fresh. The added sea bass, calamari, and shrimp were a nice touch to the pasta. The spaghetti and meatballs were also delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Meesh M.

Yelp
I doubt there is much I could say that hasn't already been said by so many so often. Probably one of my top three favorite Italian restaurants in Long Beach. Been going here for quite some time now and I've had a number of different dishes through the years. Excellent food; great service, very popular, always crowded. Be prepared for potential parking challenges, or a wait on the busier days of the week. Well worth either tbh and definitely never a deterrent. Simply the best!

Sarah L.

Yelp
Yummy food! But very slow service. Came here with a group of 8 for a friends birthday dinner, tried to call ahead and make reservations multiple times but they never picked up. Thankfully someone showed up early and grabbed a table, we came after work on Friday so there was quite a line outside. The restaurant itself is very large, but the tables weren't all full. I'm assuming they're understaffed. Very cute decor and interior! Everyone was super friendly but it felt like they forgot about us and we had to flag servers down often. Entrees took awhile to come, but appetizers and bread came fairly quick! Everything was tasty, but definitely on the pricier side. I ordered the gnocchi and it was good, but could definitely eat more after. Everyone at the table really enjoyed their dishes! They were kind enough to give the birthday girl chocolate ice cream with a cannoli, and we all sang happy birthday together. Overall just an okay experience. I would come back to try more dishes, but probably wouldn't recommend again unless the wait was short.

Ella K.

Yelp
We came for a graduation dinner and it was very good. Very authentic to romantic style pizza and the carbonara is sooo good. Get a reservation and come to enjoy, it was a good time.

Victor M.

Yelp
La Parolaccia is a family owned business serving homestyle Roman Italian cooking since 2006. Father and son, Stefano and Michael Procaccini, have been recognized as the 2024 James Beard Semifinalists for Best Chef in California. It was time to revisit La Parolaccia from my last disappointed dining experience. The place is still very popular and reservations are recommended. I came here with a large group and service was very good for such a large and recently expanded restaurant. I ordered the Caesar Salad to start and was very fresh. I also had their special meat of the day, lamb shank. It was served in classic Roman style with a red sauce. The meat was extremely tender and fell completely off the bone. One of my favorite Italian dishes was well prepared and served. They are also well known for their wood fired pizza. Their Italiana pizza is a great "sampler" selection if you can't decide on a specific pizza. It is 1/3 margherita, 1/3 mushroom and pancetta, and 1/3 Basil Pesto. My dining experience was much better than my last visit, and the James Beard semifinal recognition is well deserved.

Katsu G.

Yelp
La Parolaccia Osteria offers a delightful Italian experience with a warm ambiance. The pasta dishes are homemade and bursting with flavor, while the service is friendly and attentive. A few minor hiccups with timing, but overall, a lovely spot for authentic cuisine. Definitely worth a visit!

Mark R.

Yelp
I had no reservations and we got here put in our name and said it would be an hour and a half wait. So I stood inside and watched them sit. Literally on the pizza bar that sit six people you would think two parties of three or three parties of two but some lady walked in and they sat her as a single no problem. Also heard the buff white guy with the beard say he felt bad for the woman and guy at the bar standing so he sat that couple even though they came in after us and still sat them. They do not go in order of the list you put your name down The food was okay. I ordered a pizza I would not have of waited an hour for this place. It was super flat and burnt. And had was too much arugula on it like a salad.

LeAnn F.

Yelp
This place is so cute and homey. It gives coastal Italian vibes. It's great place for group function for private parties, family dinners, birthday dinners, and dates. They make pasta from scratch. They focus on creating authentic Italian cuisine. The staff is super friendly. Our waiter gave many recommendations. He said that their pizza is very popular and you can't go wrong. He also recommended the gnocchi zafferano. I got the Ravioli al Funghi. The house sauce is filled mushrooms, ricotta, and mozzarella topped with truffle oil. I really liked except truffle oil was a little too strong. They also come around with the cheese grater just like Olive Garden and you tell them when to stop. I would recommend coming here.

Anna-Marie T.

Yelp
If you are looking for a place to load up on delicious carbs, La Parolaccia is the place to go. My party of four ordered 2 appetizers, 3 pastas and 1 pizza and we had no leftovers. My favorites of the night was the Italiana Pizza which has three different pizzas in one and the Pappardelle e Burrata pasta. We didn't have a reservation but it was worth the wait.

Amy Jo J.

Yelp
We were staying near by for the holiday weekend, and glad we ate here! We had our dog so sat outside on patio, which was great. The service was great, never had to ask twice for anything came by to check in appropriately and offered water dish for the pup. The food was amazing we started with a pesto burrata served with warm bread. It was very good we definitely would get again. We shared two mains the carbonara pizza (that egg-mmm) and short rib pasta dish and we devoured both with no shame! Would definitely go back again.

Ernesto S.

Yelp
What a mediocre experience. I have heard, read and seen many good things about this place so I had to try it out myself and what a blah experience. Maybe it was the appetizers, main entree dishes and desserts we tried but nothing special at all. Definitely the highlight of the evening was the service from our server. She was definitely on it and understood the assignment. Worth going back? Maybe not but again this is just my opinion. Happy eatings

Yelp
Great authentic Italian spot in the beautiful parts of Long Beach! Every single item we ordered was delicious. It's a very small and casual spot but still great for groups and family outings. We went here for my friends birthday. I believe you have to request the cocktail room to order drinks with your food. Our server (Patrick?) was very friendly and accommodating. The only reason I am rating our experience at a 4 is because the dessert was a little underwhelming considering the amazing meal we had. We ordered the cheesecake and I did not enjoy it at all. Next time, I'll try the bread pudding

Yelp
What an amazing and fun place! We came here after the graduation ceremony of a great friend at Cal State Long Beach. We had reservations for 10, a definite must for that size party. We were immediately seated in a more than large table and we ended up needing all of it with the amazing food and the many plates that came. This place is truly Italian, not many places this authentic in the US, perhaps Boston, New York, Chicago or New Haven that have equivalents. the decor, the festive air, the staff, the ambiance and the clients were all in unison making La Parolaccia a unique experience We started with plates of antipasti, plates of sautéed calamari with arrabbiata sauce, Suppli - rice croquettes in ragu sauce and mozzarella, and fried mozzarella. Yum. The bread work Olive oil was also on the table. A Rughetta salad followed with a delightful vinaigrette. Then of course, the main plates: Bucattini Amatriciana with guanciale, Timballo con carne, and several others each better than the rest. Their Italian wine selection is superb. Excellent choice for a celebration with friends. Service was flawless despite a celebratory crowd. Amazing time.
