Casual place, good service and food. They offer a taco plate which is a great value. They've been around forever and have withstood the test of time.

a simple life. (THE R E V O L T CODE)

Google
This is your quintessential late-night Mexican spot. No frills, but so good. The service was super fast, chill and friendly staff, and the food was excellent. I grabbed a burrito (barbacoa) and some horchata, definitely the best I’ve had in a while. Must visit if you’ve got late night munchies in Wicker

Google
The place has remnants of the 70s, which I was told, hasn't been changed since it opened, love it! The people working here are really kind to the customers!! I had the carne asada burrito, and my gosh it was so well seasoned, and so juicy, even only with cilantro and onions added! I also got the chips with guacamole and green sauce, and those were also so good :D. Would 100% recommend it 😁

Ben Campos

Google
Starting off by saying that the prices at this joint are insane. $19.50 for a carne asada burrito, and $8.20 for chips and guac is ridiculous 😂 gf and I came in at 1am for food and i ended up finding a hair in my burrito. They did offer to make me another one, for what that’s worth, but im never coming back here again. They’re taking advantage of people that don’t know any better in a nice neighborhood.. don’t come here, there are way better places around for your money’s worth.

At La Pasadita, it's clear that the focus is on the food. Their five-star reputation is built on the back of their Carne Asada Burrito—a hefty, flavor-packed meal. Yes, I weighed my burrito for this review and it weighed in at an impressive 1 lb 2.5 oz. The steak is marinated and grilled to create a burrito filling that's both juicy and satisfying, wrapped in a soft flour tortilla with just the right amount of onions and cilantro for a fresh kick. The side of guacamole is as straightforward as it is delicious—ripe avocados, tomatoes, and onions. It’s the perfect accompaniment to their burrito or the chips, which are always served crispy and warm. The salsa verde brings its own punch of flavor, zesty and with just enough heat to liven up each bite. La Pasadita's atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with a laid-back vibe that lets you relax and enjoy your meal. The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring that your food arrives quickly and exactly as you like it. Despite the generous portions, the prices at La Pasadita are surprisingly reasonable, giving you more than your money's worth. The casual atmosphere and the no-nonsense service add to the charm of this local spot. In a city full of dining choices, La Pasadita stands out for doing the basics exceptionally well. It’s a place where you can expect a satisfying meal without any unnecessary fuss—just good, honest cooking that’s consistently delicious. Each visit to La Pasadita is a reminder that sometimes the simplest meals are also the most memorable. Whether it’s your first time eating here or your fiftieth, the food’s authenticity and quality shine through, making it a worthwhile stop for anyone in search of a great Mexican meal.

Google
FOR ME AND MY FAMILY THEY HAVE THE BEST TACOS AND BURRITOS IN THE CITY. THE PRICES ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD SO I DO NOT GO AS MUCH AS I WOULD LIKE. IT TAKES ME 45 - 60 MINUTES TO GO TO THEM. WHEN I WANT MY TACOS, THIS IS WHERE I GO. HOWEVER, THE PRICES DO KEEP ME AWAY SOMETIMES.

Mike V

Google
I got the carne asade burrito 🌯, it was so good they use very high quality steak 🥩

Google
This is a Chicago landmark! Small, hole in the wall joint that offers simple yet great tasting tacos. I will be honest, this place does have a soft spot in my heart, so their is a little bias from me. With that said, the steak tacos are some of the best in Chicagoland. Their green sauce could be spicier, but it does the trick.

Johnfavour N.

Yelp
I really liked their veggie tostada! It's a great value and is loaded with beans, rice, sour cream, cheese, guacamole, tomatoes, onions and cilantro! It also comes with a side of salsa. There's plenty of tables to dine in but I opted for takeout. It took maybe 5-10 minutes to prepare my order which wasn't too long.

Brie G.

Yelp
Came by yesterday after an event in the area for the real food. La Pasadita delivered! I split these nachos / chachos with one other person and we were both stuffed. Portions are generous and they taste even better with the salsa verde. I heard their carne asada is great, too! They have a good sized dining room, so if you have a little group you'll be fine.

Miguel M.

Yelp
It's definitely overpriced . The food isn't bad and the portions were ok , but I won't be coming back because the prices are just too high for what you get in terms of quality . So many better places with better pricing as well. If pricing was reasonable I would have no problem recommending them but hard to justify a 20 dollar burrito that was mediocre . 3.7/5

Natalie K.

Yelp
I went here during the evening after a day out since I was hungry and it was the closest restaurant available . It wasn't the worst mexican food ive ever had but it definitely wasn't the best. The service is good and food came out fast but I was underwhelmed by the quality. I would skip the salsa and chips since there isn't any flavor. The burrito was fine but I probably wouldn't eat here again since there are much better restaurants in the area.

Tikku G.

Yelp
Hole in the wall, family-owned business. They let me try a few samples of the meat and I opted for barbacoa and al pastor. The tacos are simple but hit the spot!

Jacqueline D.

Yelp
Fast service. The tacos are pretty reasonable size. I ordered a carne asada taco but it was a bit chewy and felt the grease in my my mouth :( overall okay for a quick eat.

Louie C.

Yelp
Hadn't been to this place in years. I payed almost 25 bucks for three steak tacos and a jarrito! For the most average tasting tacos I've had in a LONG time! Place could use Scrub down too! Who eats at this dump that keeps it open? Do they survive of a late night drunk crowd??

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. We have been coming here for over 15 years and the consistency of the meat is spot on. You're going to pay almost 6 dollars for a taco but it's as if you were eating too. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Rose S.

Yelp
This is sad but I've been coming to this establishment since I was a child and now throughout the years continued to come and bring in not just family from out of state but friends. I started getting disappointed when I saw the prices going up but understood it was inflation for the same quantity. Now to return to only be price and quantity shocked! Come on Pasadita stop being ridiculous, with all that money made from your grotesque prices, never have you improved that little hole in the wall restaurant now you serve a joke of a quantity for the prices look at the pics below, you can see how skimpy my nachos were.

Diego M.

Yelp
Ehh nothing amazing but not terrible. Overpriced for tacos, tacos de asada for 6 dollars and tasted mid.

Donna S.

Yelp
I have grown up on these tacos and even tho the pricing has also grown this is my favorite taco ever. Steak - cheese and cilantro and an horchata. Minimal parking but I pick up and go! Soooo good!

Gus T.

Yelp
Want to give it 5 stars but for the reasons listed below I can't let's start with the ordering the lady that took the order was rude I give her one star tops the guy that waited our table was terrific 5 stars for him The bathroom was filthy horrible tiny and scary thought a rat was going to come in for sure bathroom gets 20 negative stars the tacos rice and beans fabulous 5 star the guacamole and tamales horrible negative 3 stars i will go back for the tacos I will not attempt to use the restroom ever again

Chainte F.

Yelp
Everyone hyped this place ... decided to check it out. Walk in smelled like a sewage facility. Started to gag walked straight out the door never turned back. Disappointed heard good things about its

Amanda F.

Yelp
Awesome food and service I just loved it. I truly recommend this place if your looking for wonderful Mexican food

Naomi J.

Yelp
$19 for a steak burrito with additional charge for CHEESE. $19 is very expensive and they still charge you for cheese? A standard filling in a burrito? These Hispanics are taking advantage of the white people in the area who don't know any better. Shame

Juan H.

Yelp
These burritos are plain and simple, cilantro, and onion. These are ghetto burritos in the hood baby I don't mean the huge they are really good the neighborhoods not that great but they open early and they close really late. If you got a mean hangover I've been going to this place for the last 30 years I haven't been there in a while but I did live in West town at one time lotta great restaurants, I seen the neighborhood change from good to worse worse the good is the original place. It's been hanging on for so long if you're in the area by accident I recommend the steak burrito.

Stephanie E.

Yelp
Great tacos (carne Asaad and chicken) which are garnished with cilantro and onions). Their nachos are delicious but I ask to add chopped tomatoes. Carry out service is very fast but the food is fresh. I think they are a little pricey (guacamole and chips). The guacamole is good but not the best I've had....maybe missing some garlic. The green salsa that comes on the side with tacos is a little spicy but tastes perfect.

Tom

Yelp
Good quality steak burrito. Only cilantro and onion. Very classic traditional burrito. The only disadvantage is price. 20$ for burrito is insane . Still giving 5 stars for food

Cesar C.

Yelp
The prices are out of this world and the quality of the meat is not what i remember. Meat was very chewy and I paid close to 90 dollars for like 12 tacos and a burrito.

alexandra r.

Yelp
Decent food. High prices. Terrible smell. I would rather go somewhere else for better food then deal with the gross smell for 6/10 food.

Samantha S.

Yelp
Little hole in the wall place but clean inside. Has been in business since 1976 so doing something right. Steak tacos are quite good but on the small size. Steak is flavorful and there was a lot of it. Fresh cilantro was a nice touch. The winner were the tostadas. Lots of steak, sour cream, tomatoes and more. Excellent shell. Same price as the taco but 3 times the food. Only ding was the lack of guacamole and sangria soda. Will go again when back in Chicago.

Fiona L.

Yelp
Wow, TERRIBLE! Have been going here for over a decade and will NEVER go again. I got a burrito and guacamole for delivery. The guacamole was HALF-EATEN and brown. No joke. See picture. When I called them, they didn't care and were rude. This places used to be great, but not anymore. I would not be surprised to see the health department show up soon.

Veronica M.

Yelp
The prices for tacos are ridiculously expensive for the quality and the amount. I do not recommend coming. It has sadly lost its flavor and quality. So sad, this used to be the spot back in the day.

Melissa L.

Yelp
Fabulous food, wonderful flavor. Especially love their tostadas. Good prices, frie day service. If you are picking up, There always seems to be a parking spot nearby.

Sandy C.

Yelp
Used to come here all the time. Food is good but very overpriced for tacos and burritos!

Chris C.

Yelp
I ate here twice within a couple months, and I was really hacked off at them the second time I went, but I'll keep that from overly influencing the entire review. This is a counter joint that would be pretty much completely undistinguishable from any other Mexican restaurant. There's a taqueria up the street that's much bigger and flashier and may be 10 times better. But this place had very good reviews, so we went here. The first time, I had a burrito barbacoa and a taco asada. The burrito was spectacular. Five stars. The person at the counter told me their barbacoa is a family recipe that goes back decades. I believe it. It was great. After eating what I initially ordered, I went back to order a chili relleno taco, mainly to see what the heck a chili relleno taco would be like. It was two corn tortillas with a cheese chili relleno plopped in the middle. So ok, you better really like chili rellenos if you order it. I loved their barbacoa so much that I made a point of braving traffic to stop here during a second trip to Chicago. I walked up to the counter and of course they were out of barbacoa. The women taking my order didn't seem all that regretful about it either. So the one thing I came there to eat, they didn't have. I should have left. Instead, I ordered a chili relleno burrito. That was a mistake. It was like the taco described above, except it had TWO chili rellenos plopped inside it, along with some beans, lettuce and tomatoes. The whole stupid thing fell apart two bites in. I finished most of it with a fork. Prices were reasonable, and as mentioned, the barbacoa, which in general is hard to find, was great. But before drilling your way through all the interstate construction and nasty traffic snarls in order to get there, maybe call ahead if you want something specific to check on whether they even have it. Or try the giant taqueria down the street, like I should have done to begin with.

Miguel M.

Yelp
Not for the burrito it's good but it's not worth $20. What the fuck Are you guys out of your mind? I can buy 2 pounds of Carne Asada and make my own burrito for cheaper. Are you guys really serious?

Juan C D.

Yelp
This place is charging $6.25 for a taco that's crazy I know inflation it's still around but the meat prices aren't that high for them to be selling a taco for that amount he's just being greedy last time I eat at this place

Jaime G.

Yelp
Very bad delivery service I got no call that it was here n left in the floor of the street where it was delivery, I had a tip for delivery driver n he just drop food in ground n left . I will never again use this app

Shazeen S.

Yelp
Coming here was such an experience for me! My dad and uncles would come here 25+ years ago for burritos and I had no idea how close this is to where I currently live! Anyway I got to experience this place with my dad and uncles for the first time last week and we all got carne asada burritos. It was DELICIOUS. The burritos are bomb. The salsa verde is perfectly spicy. One burrito is about $15 which is VERY pricy for hole in the wall like this. I also understand covid probably impacted their business. The burrito is so good, I would still come back here again. They also don't skimp on filling the burrito up with meat and beef prices have gone up so the price makes sense. This is not a fancy/nice place by any means. Its literally a hole in the wall so don't plan on dining in. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because the burrito should be a maximum of $12 as they are at other comparable places. But nonetheless it's worth it.

Nickster H.

Yelp
Very expensive $17 Burrito!!!! Good meat but cmon these prices are beyond crazy. Even the tacos are around $6 each! This is not ok people!

Frank E.

Yelp
Way overpriced for mediocre Mexican food. Save your money and go find a taco truck. If you want to charge high end restaurant prices at least make the food presentable. The tomato & onion chunks were the size of a quarter. Also, the place was dirty and the staff was rude.

Kari F.

Yelp
It's been a while since we ordered from here. Husband said he waited 20/25 mins for 5 tacos. I was really stoked when he came back with them... then found plastic in the carne asada after already eating one. Was hoping it might be an onion... nope. It was stretchy. Never again, La Pasadita. Not worth it.

John M.

Yelp
17 dollars for a chicken burrito that my stomach couldn't hold down for an hour. Food was basically inedible. So yea, insanely overpriced and I got food poisoning.

Katie E.

Yelp
Whoa.Awful. People raved about this place, but I have never had such crappy experience at the counter. The staff is so rude, the food is so overpriced, and the taste is mediocre. In this West Town/Ukrainian Village are of Chicago, there are so many great taco stands. Skip this place and move on...

Brent W.

Yelp
My last review was 10 Yrs ago stating I'd been going for 10 Yrs at the time. Add it up and ive been in the hood for a solid 20. I walk in today having been at least five yrs since visiting La Pasadita and order (3) Three steak tacos to go. Get the food and check....$18!!!! GTFOOH.LOLOL NO way Jose, never again. Unacceptable, even in these hard economic times. Ridiculous.

Joe G.

Yelp
Excellent barbacoa tostadas. Asada items were very good also, as was the horchata. I'll be back.

Claudia S.

Yelp
If you look at my previous review, I used to LOVE this spot! Well, technically my review was for the restaurant that used to be "next door", but same thing. Driving home yesterday, I knew my bf had to be hungry and asked if he wanted me to stop, since he had never been. Figured I'd get a chicken taco, and that would hold me over until dinner. In the time it took me to drop him off, park in the "30 min zone" a short distance south of there and go inside, he had ordered 2 steak tacos, 1 chicken and was basically being handed food. Really though, everything is being cooked up and it shouldn't take too long to chop up the meat, especially when they weren't super busy. Got home and they had that old smell I recalled. The steak taco was pretty much just as I remembered. The chicken, not so much. It was definitely dry (the salsa took care of that) and just an average chicken taco. To be fair, I didn't eat the tortillas, and was just picking out the meat, but good meat can stand alone. The steak did, the chicken, not so much. When I asked if they were cheap-ish, he told me no, and then told me the price. For nearly $4 a taco, it's no wonder their reviews have gone downhill. The taste was clearly hit or miss from back in the day and with prices having greatly increased (which, some increase is expected), I don't see this as a place we'll stop again anytime soon.

Peter M.

Yelp
I haven't been here in several years but this was always one of my favorite places for a burrito. The burrito is packed with steak but is now overpriced. The last time I was here 3ish years ago the burrito with cheese added was $7.50 and now it's $12.40 pre tax! For counter service food in a restaurant that's always been rundown. Plus, the steak was a little tougher and greasier than I remember. Sometimes past memories don't live up current expectations. My new go to burrito place, which admittedly comes with less steak but better tasting steak, is El Burrito Amigo in Franklin Park and it's almost $5 less than L.P. .

Luis D.

Yelp
No better asada tacos anywhere, barbacoa clise second. Stuffed peppers good too. Salsas are great

Grant A.

Yelp
It had been a few years since I had dined at La Pasaditia. I was at a bar before the New Year and the discussion got to tacos and burritos I knew I had to return to la Pasadita. I ordered 2 tacos and a burrito. I had a stuffed pepper taco that was filled with cheese. It had an interesting corn bread cover. It made me thirsty and was wrapped in 2 tortillas. Got a 2nd taco that was more traditional. Meat, onions cilantro. Added some of the green salsa they hand you in a bottle. The true star of the show is the burrito. I ordered mine with rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, Barbacoa, cheese. It was big! Not gigantic, but it seemed to carry a lot of contents. I also added green salsa throughout my dining to the burrito. The meat is tender, the right amount moist. Families come in, individuals.

2serve4Christ ..

Yelp
Carne Asada Burrito is still THE BEST after a 5 year hiatus. CAUTION THEY ARE NOT OPEN PAST 12(midnight). Also, prices are way up due to increase in costs of beef. Expect to pay 2X the costs vs. back in the day, but also expect the same DELICIOUSNESS drunk or sober. Asada steak so tasty Black sauce so savory Green sauce so spicy in a great way. Me love some Pasadita.

Sabrina ..

Yelp
So saddened to write this review. I've been going to this place since 1987, it was my go to burrito spot. My family and I bonded over this authentic Mexican spot. I continued going till around 2018 when the price for a burrito and coke became $18! Reading the most recent review I am appalled to see the price is now $21! No matter how bad inflation gets I will NEVER justify buying a burrito for $20! I'm so sad, because the food is genuinely so good. But as they began to skimp out on meat and raise prices, I can't do it anymore. I hope one day they will go back to their roots, until then I am sad to say goodbye

Joana H.

Yelp
Don't waste your time ordering ahead. We arrived 30min after placing our order... wasn't ready. Waited 15-20 min. Let's talk about how $$$$$$$$ expensive .... this food is 6/10

Tom C.

Yelp
Pretty good food, but wow it is expensive! I've been coming here for years and the quality had been getting progressively worse while the price has continued to rise. It's absurdly overpriced now.

Anais H.

Yelp
My parents had come to this place a few years back while on vacation in Chicago and raves about how good it was. We were in town due to an unexpected event and decided to take advantage and enjoy local eats that we always love. First and foremost, the line was ridiculously long. At first thought, I assumed it was because that's how good the food is. At the time of our order, the cashier had to re-enter our order more than once because she was misunderstanding what we wanted. We waited a good 30 minutes for our food to arrive and our order was still incorrect. Instead of fixing our order on the house due to her mistake, we got charged extra for the items that were incorrectly added to our order. Then, based on the food quality, I found it to be HIGHLY overpriced. The food at Taco Bell is better than what we got served here. I ordered a barbacoa burrito bowl. The meat was dripping in grease. I barely ate a quarter of the meat. I went with a burrito bowl to try and go for a healthier option, but I think I would've clogged my arteries in an instant with how much grease and fat was on the meat. My family got Chile relleno "tacos", which is basically a deep fried chile filled with cheese. It comes served on a tortilla. What the heck is that? A chile relleno should be just that. A chile relleno. No tortilla is needed to wrap around it! The breading on the chile has the consistency of a deep fried Oreo. It was disgusting. My parents were super disappointed and said the quality highly declined from their visit a few years ago. I in turn got sick from the food a few hours later. Never again returning and I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. I rarely leave bad reviews, but it was just such a terrible experience that I had to say something.

Shardool P.

Yelp
Pasadita is definitely an institution and the steak super burrito is really solid and recommended for sure! That said, there are better quality (meat) burritos at half the price in Chicago (ex: Chilango, Taco Veloz etc) so 3 stars for *insanely expensive* $15 super burrito with mediocre quality steak. Also because they used to be one of the better late night options but they close early now.

Marcus P.

Yelp
If you want authentic Mexican food anywhere in Chicago this is your place. Nothing compares in the area. I grew up in Arizona and traveled to Mexico often growing up and this takes me back to those times. The burritos were stuffed and it was a lot of food for me (I'm a 6'2" and 246 lb man). The green sauce is my favorite and the horchata is muy bueno.

olivier s.

Yelp
This is the best taco/Mexican restaurant in the chicago area. there tacos are really really really good aspecially the steak taco definitely recommend 10/10 The staff are kind/nice One of the 4th best Mexican restaurants in my opinion.
