Beautiful, busy, and... burned logos?
I was struck by the inviting atmosphere of pink hues and complimentary colors that welcomed me from the street. As I hopped out of my lyft, the neon pink sign confirmed that I had arrived to the best new Mexican spot in Southeast Portland.
The wait for seating and ordering food can be long, since, seating is limited. However, the team was incredible with conversation while we waited, and, the small dining space made for cozy vibes to look forward to. I let the server choose all of my dishes and drink, which was the correct choice.
Once I ordered, I was seated on a comfortable but very low couch. Those with mobility constraints may have difficulty sitting there. My drink, the Bidi Boom, arrived quickly, and, without alcohol, thanks to Dry January (for me). Thanks for the accommodation, team!
I was very impressed with the attention to detail everywhere, from unique cowboy hats, to burned logos pressed into the limes that garnish beverages and tacos. The food arrived on the iconic pink tortillas, which, were some of the yummiest I had tasted. They are thick, flavorful, and allow for easy eating with one hand - as any taco should be.
I would have enjoyed sitting at the bar, and I will probably do just that during my next adventure here. The side tables by the couch are at odd levels compared to where you are sitting, so, I recommend waiting for a table. Thanks for a great adventure! This is an ideal place to dine or drink if you are hopping around town.
