Its alright 2½ stars honestly.. Wasnt happy, I came here Monday night at 8:58pm. The hostess told me they was closed. Google said they close at 10pm. I have never experienced a restaurant not wanting customers, during normal business hours.

A friend recommended La Perla Del Mar so we decided to stop when we were nearby. It’s a very casual place. We received menus in Spanish at first but the waitress quickly replaced them with menus in English. We didn’t ask for them, so maybe she saw us struggling. The food was delicious and the portions were large. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The music was great too. This is a great place to go when you’re not looking for anything fancy but you want authentic Mexican seafood and friendly service. We’ll be back!

Google
The food was alright, though I feel the carne asada could have had more flavor/seosonings. The music they had was way too loud, I could not hear my sister talking across from me. Probably not a place for families but maybe for a fun night out. Under different circumstances, I might have had a good time.

Google
Food was on point. Prices are decent. We did order shrimp dishes so it's not surprisingly expensive. Service was nice but took a long time for our food to come out. We would definitely return. Just not on a lunch hour.

A friend of mine told me about this place a long time ago and I finally had the chance to check it out. My first time here a few weeks ago and now I can’t stop going. It’s that great. The food, the service especially the micheladas! I’m a huge fan of micheladas and they also have an option to add shrimp. So yummmmyyy. I want to keep this place a secret but the world must know.

Google
our family of 12 went out to this wonderful place that serve only marisco, i on the other hand would always leave food on the plate but i really enjoy coming to this place to eat delicious marisco horchata was supper good, will be coming back here every time service is good! will be back!

Google
This is my first review on a restaurant EVER. I’m so disappointed in the quality of their food. I’m not sure if they changed chefs but since last summer it has not been the same. The aguachiles have NO flavor and it sucks for how expensive it is. It not worth it anymore. I recommend Perla Del Mar 2 instead.

😋🌮🌯🦐🦞🦀🦑🐙🐟🇲🇽🍺👍 A most excellent place to go for authentic Mexican food. Really great for seafood. I love the Camaron Azul wrapped in bacon, so delicious! Friendly staff and reasonable prices. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Wife and I stopped here after the waterpark. Chill spot with amazing seafood, atmosphere is vibing, food is delicious, the mojarra was crisp to perfection, staff is amazing and provide a caring customer service experience. Will definitely come back with friends and family.

Yelp
This was my favorite meal during my Seattle trip. We got the botana TMS, aguachiles verdes, and coctel la mamalona. For drinks, I chose Jamaica and the others got a michelada and paloma. The botana TMS came with so many shrimp- about half was fried and the other half was grilled. The aguachiles verdes was soooo spicy, but so yummy and flavorful. It's one of the best I'ver ever had. You just want to keep eating it even though your mouth will be burning haha. I didn't get to try the coctel dish, but the presentation was nice. The atmosphere is loud and service wasn't that great. We had to flag our server down numerous times because she would forget about us and we needed to order more drinks or needed utensils, etc. The food makes up for it though LOL.

Yelp
Here is the thing about this restaurant: their menu and their food is amazing. I haven't been to the other location but this one was, food-wise, great. What's not so great? Location, building and parking situation. The good: the food. We had the botana el desmadre, the empanadas and a tostada de camarón. Excellent quality, great presentation and taste, very fresh all around. My husband loved his micheladas. We left completely satisfied, hence the 4 stars. We really do look forward to their food. Why not 5? The bad: the building is not the best in the looks department which honestly wouldn't even face me had it not been in the middle of the infamous July heat wave with no A/C or fans near our table. The seating style is cramped and the windows with the bars just sort of don't help. The parking is a hot mess and beware of the homeless folks that meander back there to that cargo/metal container and look through windows. This is also where someone was shot from the outside in, so not the safest place by any means. Parking in the front is just comedy and you'll be lucky to find some in the back. Also, since it was a hot weekend day, they struggled majorly with service. There was one lady at one point for the entire restaurant and she tried her hardest. She also asked us to tip in cash so she wouldn't have to share with the rest of the staff. Do with that what you will.

Yelp
Meh, not good but not bad. Guess that's what I've come to expect with Mexican food here in the PNW. Growing up in So Cal I HIGHLY doubt I'll find any close to the Mexican food I'm accustomed to

Yelp
I have been here a few times and gotten the fried tilapia, and it was pretty good. Tonight, I got the Marlin Tacos and they went right in the trash. This probably ended my wanting to visit this place again. I come from SoCal down by the Mexican border and have had all kinds of great fish tacos and Mexican seafood. Seems these Marlin Tacos are some sort of canned fish or something. The fish is chopped in pieces Just like it came out if a can and very off tasting. Not good...

Yelp
Excellent food, and excellent service. Everything was fresh and the ambiance of the place is also great, they play Mexican music, and have sports playing on the screens, they also host live Mexican music.

Renato G.

Yelp
The chicken wings are so tasty, yummy. Please try their asada meat and quesadillas. You can thank me later.

Yelp
I'm "off and on" when it comes to seafood and this restaurant mainly specializes in Mexican seafood dishes. I looked at the menu and found that they had Carne Asada tacos so that is what I pursued. How the tortillas were prepared were just magical. They were prepared in a way I haven't seen but were they amazing! Steve did go with a seafood dish. He got the shrimp empanadas and those were fantastic as well! Marvelous food here and a place well worth checking out!

Yelp
We went for dinner- we were seated immediately and then completely ignored for 20-25 minutes. I asked the gentleman who seated us if we were supposed to go order somewhere because no one had serviced our table. He said he'd send someone right over - we waited another 7 minutes and then walked out. The young man at the door shrugged his shoulders. They didn't want to serve us. I will be contacting the owner.

Yelp
Found it via Yelp as the dinner stop on a long drive. We thought it was a seafood restaurant but found it was a Mexican resto that features seafood. The food and service are authentic and excellent. The atmosphere is basic Formica table and simple surroundings. We had Fajitas Mixta; a blend of beef, shrimp, onion and mushroom served with rice, beans and tortillas. Really delicious.

Yelp
Really yummy food, but don't order via Door Dash. The first time they didn't confirm my order until I got there to pick up, and today, the order wasn't confirmed, and when I got there, it was closed, despite showing as open on Yelp, FB, Google, and DoorDash.

Yelp
Best michelada hands down! This place is the closest to the one I dream about daily from my honeymoon Mexico. I'll drive here just for that drink only, if I really wanted to. And not gonna lie I have a couple of times haha
google avatar

Mashayla R.

Yelp
Super authentic Mexican spot. I always get the aguachiles which is like a shrimp dish marinated with lime and chiles with onions and cucumber, it's very spicy but sooooo good. I also usually get Adrian tacos which are fried Asada tacos with onion and think bacon? prob some of the best dishes I've ever had tbh. Yum yum yum

Sar N Victor G.

Yelp
Food was delicious, family friendly. Could be loud, has live mariachi and a bar, cool security guy securing the building.

Donatto G.

Yelp
You guys have online that you close at 9:00PM and you literally closed before 8:00PM today. There was a server barely getting the order of other clients and she ignored us at the door which is definitely see through and the other woman at the bar also ignored us even though she saw us outside of the door. Your customer service is disgusting.
google avatar

Bev F.

Yelp
Very authentic Mexican seafood. The establishment was clean, service was good and food was fresh. It didn't get a 5th star because the music is really loud and we couldn't hear anything anyone was saying.
google avatar

Jaime V.

Yelp
Never in my life have I had such a rude waitress. Honestly food was great Music was fun But the fact that my server was just plain horrible ruined my experience here. She was rude obnoxious and just plain mean. I can keep on going on and on about how her service was shit but I won't. Didn't get her name but I think they call her "Chilanga" she's one of the skinnier girls Kinda dark with dark hair. ( Ovoid Her) FOOD: MUSIC:

Yelp
Great food and worth the drive from Edmonds. Their crunchy tacos were bomb and their ceviche tostadas it was more servings than I anticipated. GF got somethin ng with shrimp and it was bomb too. It was great for my GF and I. We love food the more the merrier.

Yelp
was craving mariscos & i haven't actually found or gone to any places since i've moved to WA. i found this place that wasn't too far from me & decided to check it out. we ordered the agua chiles & tostadas de ceviche & my husband ordered the carne asada con camarones. everything was PERFECT & authentic. i was also super happy with their drinks! the service was excellent, very very happy with this place. will be coming back to try other tasty dishes!
google avatar

Yelp
Felt so out of place when I walked into this joint, all the Mexi's looked up at me & I think one was about to ask if I was lost.... Nah saw that they have great Ceviche & I came to the right place. A little sketchy but they were friendly the food is good. Everything is fresh Avo & shrimp delish. This is packed w shrimp, Octo's, scallops. Server she was nice as well. I want to come back & try more of their ceviche.

Yelp
If you're looking for great fresh Mexican seafood this is your place ! I love the Green Aguachiles, their tripe tacos are great meat is crispy just how I like it. Their molcajete de mariscos is really good. Great micheladas they also have menudo on weekends sometimes. Service is good, waitress are really nice. They have the best 'limonadas' in town. I recommend this place
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
The ceviche de camaron was so delicious and fresh. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely going back to try more off their menu.
google avatar

Leanne L.

Yelp
The food was really good. Great place for Mexican food. Menu was in Spanish but they have pictures of the items. Staff is friendly. The only reason I'm going with 4 stars is because the parking situation. There's parking but the area is a bit sketchy. Wouldn't stop me from going back! Just don't leave stuff in your car. Food was worth it!

Yelp
The marisco tacos are the best!!! Hands down in my opinion the best Marisco spot in Tacoma.
google avatar

Karliña D.

Yelp
Best seafood in town !!! Even the rice and beans are delicious. The mariachi on Sunday's Is good And you can bring the whole family !!

Jailin M.

Yelp
i don't even know where to start the food as alright been to better place but we were not even done with our food and the waitress started kicking us out we payed almost 700$ worth of food and drinks we came with our kids to have dinner (family of 9) we understand if we have to leave at 10 because we come with children but it was literally not even 9

Matthew S.

Yelp
The owner is very friendly and I always get myself a burrito when I can. I also recommend the street tacos.

Michelle R.

Yelp
Looks like a little hole in the wall but one of the best Mexican food spots we've had. Everything was good, especially the mariscos. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Iris V.

Yelp
Que rico es este lugar! Me encanta todo! This place has great service and amazing food. They serve beer for the most part. A great hidden gem! The main type of that is served here is seafood. How can i explain this place it is Mexican seafood platters. Just bomb! Best micheladas I've ever had!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Had the ceviche. It was okay, but the shrimp wasn't as flavorful as I wanted it to be. A very generous serving for the price though.
google avatar

Ale G.

Yelp
DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're into Mexican food, this is the place for you great restaurant to listen to music, service is fast and really polite. The seafood has you licking your fingers. Makes you feel like you're in a Real Mexican place...don't miss out.

Yelp
Had a GREAT lunch today! Delicious food & AMAZING service! Will definitely come back and HIGHLY recommend this place!

Denise D.

Yelp
Good food not such a great service. Not a good place for families it's more just for adults or hanging out with friends
google avatar

Mad M.

Yelp
Read about this in the Tacoma Tribune. A little scary on the outside at night. Grafitti on the side. Parking not well lit. The inside is bright however. They had one 42 inch LED showing the football game. At the same time there was LOUD mexican karaoke with inebriated guy wailing away. Food was okay. Not any different than El Toro or Moctezuma and at least those places have better ambience.
google avatar

Paul R.

Yelp
Best ceviche we have had in the states, the carne asada was perfect aswel. Left here feeling full, and extremely satisfied.

Moises L.

Yelp
This is one of the best places to go for some authentic Mexican seafood. The environment is great and the staff are very attentive to your need I highly recommend this place you will not be disappointed

Ben A.

Yelp
These reviews crack me up. The food and service were amazing. Yes the music was loud...who cares. Yes I was the only person in the place that wasn't Mexican...that's awesome. So I want to try out a new Mexican restaurant and the place is filled with Mexican people so you know it's good. Best carne asada and shrimp tacos I've ever had.
google avatar

Bernadette B.

Yelp
went here and it was not welcoming. no hello or welcome, they never gave us a menu or spoke to us. we finaly just left without ordering at all. will not be back.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
Good music and food!!! Definitely good joint to go to on a Friday Saturday Night. Finally a good seafood place in Tacoma. Really like the environment. Only con I would say is the parking is not big so it's hard to find a parking spot especially on a weekend night. But other than that everything else is great!!

Jessika F.

Yelp
I got a ceviche (shrimp plate ) to go and it tasted alright but the next two days were horrible after that this crap gave me diarrhea and vomit for TWO days !!

Nee K.

Yelp
Best god damn Mexican food I ever had in my whole entire life! This is definitely a little hole in the wall place! Felt kind of out of place bc it's all Mexicans when you go eat there but you embrace the loudness & music the food gets even better! I loved everything I had! The ceviche & the big ass glass of horchata ! Everything was amazingly delicious.

TH M.

Yelp
Best mojarra I've had. Crispy but not dried out. Excellent ceviche. More items to try. Will be back.
google avatar

Henry F.

Yelp
Good seafood. Micheladas could be better. Ceviche is good! Customer service is good. Location for parking is not the best. But food and service is good!

Omar C.

Yelp
The food here is alright. It's no where close to what people hype it up to be. Also, the service here is pretty bad. We came on a Sunday to a half empty restaurant with 6 servers, and they kept on messing up on our drinks and our orders.

Aileen S.

Yelp
the food here is probably the best mexican food you can have , everything seasoned so well i just love it & would highly recommend

Mike B.

Yelp
We went to lunch there last week. I really enjoyed the fish filet I ordered (I think it was the Filete Marlin, or perhaps Filete Perla del Mar) ... very crisp on the outside, moist on the inside. The others in our group liked their meal as well. Cons? Perhaps the thermostat should have been a little higher. And it took a little too long on getting the check. My wife thought her food was a little (just a little) too salty. I really liked the way mine was seasoned. I'll be back. I want more of that delicious fish.
