La Perrada De Chalo

I used to love the food at La Perrada De Chalo but this time around it was VERY DISAPPOINTING. The flavor was not the same and the WORST part I found a hair in my food. I ordered the Hawaiian burger and it wasn't until I finished and saw the hair, the hair was on the container under where the burger came in. That's so gross!! So not only was the food not good but a hair too?! NOT WORTH IT ESPECIALLY WITH THEIR PRICES. Don't bother, you can get better quality food minus someone's disgusting hair elsewhere.

If you looking for a fast food place with a fresh food feel this is the place you can find various Colombian fast food dishes that are always fresh andade to order with a unique blend of ingredients and toppings that you would think they do not go together but blend in to make a delicious combination parking is hard but definitely worth ith i personaly order ahead and pick up to go so dont deal with the parking

This spot is an amazing hidden gem my husband took me to back in April. I can't express enough how good their burgers are, their fries are super fresh, and that chelado with all that super juicy fruit was my favorite part. Everyone that works there are the nicest people. They keep it super clean, even the restrooms were clean. Can't wait to go back to try different things. Run, don't walk.

This place is legendary among Colombians. They Colombian-style fast food. When I lived in queens I used to come here more often and I was so happy to see it and to visit again. I was craving fruit salad for the longest time and the really hit the spot. I just hope they bring a few more options just like in Colombia.

I ordered online and the food was disgusting! You can tell the food had been frozen and warmed up! the potatoes literally turned to dust when taking a bite. The flan ?! Omg please do not get the flan my husband puked ! Who is checking on the food that comes out of this place ?!

Don’t go here anymore the bad attitude of employees the food has gotten worse it’s not the same and they only take cash which is a huge inconvenience for me so add that all together and I just avoid it plenty of other spots in the area that accept cash will give you a smile and make better Colombian hot dogs …

I’ve been coming here for years! This place has always hit the spot! Great tasting food and busy atmosphere especially in the summer time and weekends! A definitely must try! So much more great food must try!

This is a long standing Colombian fast food restaurant. Their specialty is the Colombian hot dog. You can choose from a variety of toppings such as pineapple, eggs, potato chips, cheese, chicken, onions and much more. They also have hamburgers, sandwiches, and arepas as well. In terms of Colombian fast food, this place is authentic as it gets. The hot dog is the star of the menu with so many choices of toppings and sauces. I recommend the Mixto dog which comes with bacon, pineapple, potato chips and several sauces. The hamburger is great too with a nice grilled taste to it and a large choice of toppings as well. Add some french fries and some Colombiana soda and you have yourself a deliciously unhealthy meal.

Ate here yesterday for lunch by myself on a Saturday afternoon in my neighborhood. I had tried, brought and ate the "showy" hot dog combo that comes with fries, pink sauce and a choice of soda that I chose the Colombian soda. It was great and delicious. The service there was also quite good and attentive that I didn't feel rushed about what to choose a meal to try for the first time and it took awhile to get my order right and be served. In addition, the ambiance of the place has pretty good music playing like a mix of Spanish and English. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

Excellent fast food and many different choices to choose from . It's Colombian NYC good to the core. Parking is the only issue around this restaurant not to mentioned the line to get the delicious food . I will call in advance and then dine in. The resultant is spacious, clean and the waiters are amicable and courteous. I recommend La hamburger Hawaiian and La ensalada de frutas !

Underwhelming hot dog. Very bad Cuban sandwich. The Cuban was just bologna,cheese and a leaf of lettuce with a smear of some garlic sauce. The hot dog frank itself was not great the pineapple sauce didn't add much neither did the broken up chips. Def not ordering again. Sorry

This place is a snack food gem. Lets all remember this is not a 5 star steak house, seafood etc. No.... they specialize in Colombian snack food, junk food that we all love. I use to live in the area over a decade ago and it has never changed. I now live in NJ and travel to this spot regularly for their Hawaiian burger. It has crushed chips, pineapple marmalade, cheese, pink sauce and a whole lot of goodness. My wife is from Cali Colombia and remembers this burger made the same way from her childhood growing up there. Now with that said, its not your usual cheap fast food place. A burger cost about $11 with no sides. A combo cost $15 for the burger and fries. No drink. All in its about $20. Other items are good too. The inside is nothing special basic takeout seats and tables. The people behind the counter are friendly and helpful. Two down side, if you want extra salsa de ajo, in a small stadium ketchup cup (garlic Mayo) they charge 3 for $1 and its always been like that and CASH ONLY.

Food is so delicious . People complaining about the Cuban sandwich must've forgotten their in a Colombian restaurant so it's only called so by name . Not because it resembles the actual Cuban sandwich lol . Can't go wrong with anything here . Love Colombian fast food .

What do hotdogs, Colombian cuisine, and late night availability have in common? They all happen to be things that La Perrada de Chalo does well. And that's not all, this eatery has really pulled out all the stops to showcasing their food, which is available 24/7. While they're not the only Colombian hot dog joint along Northern, they're certainly among the most popular. They've became a fan favorite amongst locals for years, and have been a mainstay for late night eats and hot dog lovers. I am a proud member of the latter. It might be junk food, but I consider it (good) drunk food. I think my personal fave has been their Hawaiana, which comes in burger / hotdog form, and is stacked with sauces, mashed chips, etc. The Showy (pineapple, ham, cheese, and crushed chips) is a close favorite. The burgers weren't all that great at first, but have taken on a life of their own with near exclusive fanfare. I'm still not feeling arepas, but no one's perfect. They were slipping a tad food wise prior to the pandemic. Many of the burgers / hot dogs were a little messy, but they tightened things up in the last year plus to be more mindful of the presentation. Or perhaps, they know the deal with food porn online, which is never a bad thing. Naturally there's a price hike, but that's kind of like everyone else. Service can be a bit of a crapshoot at times and calling ahead is recommended especially at night with the post-bar crowd. Speaking Spanish is obviously great, but certainly not required given how many people come to dine here. it's a good pick for lunch but an even better pick for late night.

This place is always a local favorite. The food is always so tasteful and fresh. Highly recommended if in the area and even if not make your way to this establishment at some point.

I have been to this place several times and the phone is pretty decent. Sometimes you order one thing and you might get something different. Once or twice, I was pleasantly surprised but since I did not order what I got, I could not order it again. There is usually seating and the place looks pretty clean.

Stopped by for a snack. Hot dog with pineapple and crushed chips with cheese and ketchup. So surprised that I liked it!! Can't give more stars since that's all I ate but I will go back and try the burger the same way!!

Came across this spot. Really good food. Didn't know what to get cashiers helped me out. Food was amazing and fast. Service was great also. I would recommend this to a friend. Check them out. Next time I'm in ny again I will be stopping by for more.

Ordered take out to be picked up during these quarantine times. Went to the store and there was no one there. Didn't look like they were open as advertised. Very disappointed. Wish I was told before hand

Let me tell you, La Perrada De Chalo was remarkable. The atmosphere of this place is great and so inviting! We are so glad that we have ordered Salchipapa, it was really excellent. The team is really pleasant. I really liked that. If I am ever in the area again I will really like to come back to La Perrada De Chalo.

Not really sure why their rating is so low. I absolutely love this place. It's one of the oldest Colombian fast food restaurants here in NY. I'm 25 and i remember my older brothers used to come here when they were my age. Im from Cali Colombia so i know good Colombian fast food. The food is very good, prepared fresh when ordered. The sauces are to DIE FOR! The menu is very extent, which is a plus ! My ONLY complaint is they don't take cards so make sure you bring cash with you! Make sure you give this place a chance. Stop being so harsh on Yelp guys, remember dialogue is key. If you're not happy about something at the moment, speak up I'm pretty sure they'll find a way to make you happy!

My family and I shared some cholados next door but we were still hungry so we decided to stop by in here. A great place to come in and enjoy some Colombian fast food. Their decor is very southwest, with wooden tables and chairs. They have a lot of self seating available so it's good for groups. The best part is that they're open 24 hours over the weekend thus it's a great spot to come by for some late night hunger. Their menu has a variety of items available. They sell most of the standard Colombian fast food and smoothies/juices. I had a beef empanada, which was very tasty and crunchy. We also shared the salchipapa (French fries, frankfurter, eggs & pink sauce) and the salchi criolla (baked potatoes, eggs, frankfurter &a pink sauce). Both were very satisfying and flavorful. The cashier was friendly and recommended her favorite items. Overall, I will definitely be returning when I'm in the area.

Didn't know Colombians has their own hot dogs and how delicious they are. What rock have I been under?! The combination of toppings was perfect. Can't lie, I was a bit hesitate at first, but I was proven wrong! The look and feel of the place is perfect with the stump chairs and wooden panels has a south american feel. They were playing old spanish music along with the videos which made me reminisce to my younger days! Definitely a place to come back to!

Came here after a long day at the Beach. I order the regular Colombian hotdog and a Cuban sandwich. Both were great. Their menu consist of plenty of options. The place is small and the service is fast. You order your food at the counter and a number is given to you so when it's ready you pick it up. It's cash only. If you love Colombian food and want something fast on the go, then this is your spot.

I'll eat vegetables tomorrow. This review may be considered preliminary since I didn't get the marquee items of hot dog and hamburger, but the mini picada provided a jolt of meat madness. Sausage and pork were outstanding. Even the grilled chicken, often a subject of my disdain, was worthwhile thanks to a peppery element.

It is my first time ordering food at La Perrada. I have to say it surprised me a lot. The food was delivered promptly and the quality of ingredients was excellent. The presentation (for a hot dog and a hamburger) was very nice. I also ordered salchipapas as appetizer and I have to say that by itself it was a complete meal. I am really happy and for sure will order again. I also have to say this... I usually order through Yelp and sometimes my card is not accepted (depending the mood of the app) so I am used to pay my food cash. This time my card was accepted and when the delivery guy came I forgot I payed for the food through the app and I was giving the guy the money of the complete order plus the tip. He was so honest that reminded me that I had to pay only the tip if any and did not take the complete money. After that, I tipped him and when I closed the door I was very happy that in the world still exist decent and honest people. I have to say, "Chalo... you not only have great food but also excellent delivery people and employees".

Maybe it was just the day I was there... but maaaaan, they had nothing: I asked for a juice... they told me to pick another one, I asked for an auapanela... NO aguapanela, I asked for a cholado... NO they didn't have one! Then I just picked what they had, and a salchipapa that was full of fat. Ewww I couldn't eat it :( and I was expecting something better. The service was good but I think this one time they just had a mess. The guy taking the ordes was also receiving calls and so I had to wait too much :(. Hope they make it better because the last time I was there the service was way better and even when the empanadas were not good the hamburguer was good.

I kept calling for over 45 mins to place an order for pickup, the phone was answered but no one would talk. As I arrived to the restaurant to place my order in person the gentleman at the cashier was picking up the phone and quickly putting the phone down so he wouldn't take any orders through the phone. Very unprofessional. Once I realized what had been happening the whole time while trying to call I was very disappointed. I left immediately and ate elsewhere.

I have been coming here for years. It is my favorite burger joint. It is such a long drive from where I live ,but so worth the trip.I come here any chance I get. I wished they opened up another location near me. I have never had a burger as good as the Hawaiian burger. The juicy burger is filled with crushed potato chips,crushed pineapples, cheese,lettuce and pink sauce(mayo & ketchup) that is just simply genius. All of my family and friends that have joined me here, have all loved this place as well.

Not what I remembered. Smh. Standard burger with pink sauce, pineapple sauce and broken chips....the burger tasted like the frozen patties you get by the 24 pack, the bread looked like the .99 for 8 patties. Que verguenza how I spoke so highly of you guys to my boyfriend for the first time. Anddddd la arep mixta ?! WHAT?! Wow. Smh. No sauce, dry, and 3 pink sauces on the side...just meat and chicken ... that's it. We asked for hot cuss and were charged at that. Lol. Things must be going down hill....won't be coming here again. Chao perrada... que cagada.

A decade later, this is still where I go to when I want Colombian fast food. The portions are ginormous and everything is about a thousand calories ... tasty, naughty, bring you back to the streets of "el parque de el poblado" on a Saturday night, cheat day kind of calories. The decor is super fast food-ish and there's always a wait as everything is made to order. The only place I have seen that has maicitos - but they are o-kay. Favorite foods: ( only pay attention to this if you like pineapple) Hawaiano hot dog ( this gives Crif Dogs a run for their money) add green garlic sauce. Hawaiano sandwiches Okay there is a pattern lol Foodie hack - they clean their grills at 4am, so even though it's a 24-hour place you will have a much longer wait.

Where do i begin?! La perrada de chalo is just so darn GOOD! It's open 24 hours, I came here around midnight once with my cousins and I was shocked to see there was still many people here including families. They looked like if they have just come from exploring the city and were just taking a bite before heading home. This place has a ton of options, the sauces is just what make everything blend and melt in your mouth. Guilty satisfying? YES and i can't wait to go back Someone mentioned "This place doesn't catch your eye from the outside but the menu will blow your mind." and I couldnt agree more

Overall my experience was pretty great. I got the Mexicano hot dog and it was so good I had to get a second one(large). I don't know what type of sauces are on it but it is so delicious. A friend bought me here and I do not regret getting it. The only reason why I took away one star is because they take a little bit longer in the kitchen but that's expected because they have only about 2 workers in the kitchen. We are fully immersed in the culture because they play Colombian music and the tables are really nice.

This place has been the worse when it comes to deliver food , the portioning it's bad , less protein more fries them anything else in the plate (Picada). I use to pick up from this place frequently the same dish and it was great after the pandemic the place change , beef has to much fat , the chicken it's very hard (like plastic) . I would never order from this place again .

Lost in translation. La Perrada De Chalo is a Colombian spin on American fast food. Come with your best Spanish because if you come with my two years from high school, you may end up ordering something you didn't. The menu is vast starting off with desayunos (breakfast) moving on to hamburguesas (hamburgers) and perros (hot dogs) to antojitos (snacks) and other side items (tostones) and combo platters. I settled on the chicken burger mainly because it came with pineapple and I was feeling for something sweet and non meaty. At the register I ordered my piernil which got confused for pernil (the pressed pork sandwich). After going back and forth with the woman at the counter, even pointing at the menu, I still ended up with the pernil. Note to self and others: work on your pronunciation if Spanish is not your first language. My pernil sandwich was actually very good and in my opinion less of a "fast food" option that some of the other items. I was the last to get my food. The rationalization was that they really slow press the bread so that the sandwich gets delivered crispy and thin. It was well worth the wait. The pork was flavorful and the special sauce (cilantro mayo?) gave it an extra oomph. The other items ordered were just as tasty but somewhat of a gut fest. The mini picada (assorted fried beef, chicken, and pork skins with french fries, chorizo and an arepa) would have gone great with a beer. The meats were greasy and charred with bits of crispy skin. The hot dogs, as exhibited by the showy (a hot dog with gol sauce, tartar sauce, lettuce, tomato, pineapple, cheese, bologna, crushed potato chips and ketchup), were one step away from Rutger's fat sandwiches. Potato chips in hot dogs? Now I know what people think when they see hot dogs in Filipino spaghetti. It's a slight variation on standard cultural food. One item that is a must when visiting La Perrada De Chalo are the juices and shakes. I tried the papaya and what one thought was supposed to be passion fruit. I see nothing on the menu that I would know would be the green shake that I had a sip of. Guanabana? Is that guava banana? Again, I am lost in translation. Either way, it was refreshing and tasty. The food is good at La Perrada De Chalo. I just can't see myself going there in lieu of McDonalds.

*CASH ONLY* that being said, I loved this place whatever the name is supposed to mean, Colombian burgers are the best, love the pink sauce with the french fries and they garlic sauce is just amazing, will definitely come back to try the hot dogs

Columbian fast food? Nope not like going to McD or BK or Taco B. You still have to place an order and wait for the cook to make it. Fortunately the menu has English translations right under the Spanish descriptions. We had the hamburguesas- Double Burger $7.50- a lot of meat be bland and dry patties. Not much in flavor. I can't even taste much of the crushed chips or pineapple and sauces. Rated 3/5. We also got the Cubano sandwiches $6.25- the sandwich was just OK. A lot of bread. The sandwich was not pressed and grilled, it was just flatten with no sign of grill marks. Rated 3/5. Overall it OK food. Tip: They stay open very later on Friday and Saturday evenings.

We have to come back to try this place again because sometimes takeout does not hold well. We ordered the Double Burger, $7.50, which was huge. It can really feed two people. Problem was the patty needed some seasoning and was a bit dry. We also ordered the Cubano sandwich, $6.25. Maybe that was a mistake since this is a Colombian place? It was too much bread in ratio to the filling. All you can taste is bread. I guess we'll give it one more chance and eat in the establishment since there was so many tables inside. It is fast food as in, you order your food at the counter and you bring it one of the tables yourself to enjoy it. The food is made to order.

This is an old school place for me. They redecorated the place so it's a new look but still the same Colombian food. The hotdogs with pineapple and chips on top mayo ketchup sauce great taste. The picada it's a Colombian plate that has all kind of meats with potatoes and yuca it's really good. This place is nice and I recommend it today, tomorrow and forever. The original fast food Colombian spot. Perfect for late night food and munchies, its the caloric bomb you've been craving. My forever favorite: Hamburguesa filete de pollo. Chicken sandwich with ketchup, mayo and pineapple jam with crushed up chips. Besides that, definitely recommend their regular Hawaiian burger and hot dogs.

There is something alluring about Colombian hot dogs! I can't fully explain it. The layers and layers of things put on the hot dog, and the colors seems so mysterious and appealing! I was watching Man Versus Food on tv, and Colombian hot dogs was featured in the episode. My initial response was "What the hell! That is some sick version of a hot dog" and "God..I wonder if I would be able to find it in NY". Lo and Behold! I did a Google search and found this place on yelp. I ordered the Colombian hot dog aka "SHOWY", and it was ginormous! It didn't look as good as the one I saw on Man versus Food, but I knew I had to eat it right away. I liked the variety of tastes it gave me. It was an interesting culinary experience for a foodie like me. I was happy to fulfill my "to eat list". However, my tummy was not feeling so great after eating it. :(

The location is not so close to the metro stations, I discovered this place through a friend of mine who live around the area. It's like an oversized fast food joint with colombian influence. The food here is decently priced and packed with flavor. They have interesting combination of flavors on their burgers. The menu is mainly in Spanish but they also included photos to make it easy for people who don't speak spanish which helped me and my friend a lot. Bottom line is that the food here is flavorful and interesting and staff at the counter are quick and friendly.

Been one of the best colombian fast food spots. Recommend trying it if it's your first time! Service is good and the food is better. Their delivery service is so also really good if you live near the area.

I really like the environment it's Colombian. I wasn't expecting the food to be so good! I ordered a pernil sandwich which was a 12 foot long. I was really hungry and it filled me up nicely. The girl in the front was super friendly. No cons at all haha.

Food is good but they are raising their prices to astronomical levels. This is my go to spot for late night food but I can't justify paying 16.50 for Hawaiian hamburger combo. Not to mention the last time I ordered I had gotten food poisoning. I won't be ordering from here till they realize their price gouging is too much.

Got the hawaiian burger- love the medley of crushed potato chips, pineapple sauce, and cheese on a medium-sized beef patty. That- with an order of fries and a fruit shake- hit the spot. Definitely fulfills a burger craving!

Price was good. Open space so it was good to watch soccer games. Order at the counter. Burgers were okay. Don't get the one with shrimp. The hot dogs were delicious. Get the one with bacon. The papaya milkshake was the best. I just want to come back again and drink that.

Over the years i can say they have gone down! I paid $30 for a Picada and i didnt receive no cassava, chicharron, and also on top of that they gave me about 8 itty bit pieces of steak and 5 bite size pieces of chicken. And they made the tray smaller. Definitely not worth $20 definitely wont be buying from them again. And this occurred today! They were my number one spot for picada and etc! Wish i took a picture!

This hole in the wall is the best thing my best friend ever introduced me to. The Colombian hotdogs are beyond amazing. The Mexicano is my favorite with pink sauce. Anything with pineapple sauce and potato chips is delicious. I know it sounds weird. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

So I visited this place due to a referral. But... 1. Service was below POOR, 0 star 2. Food is very mediocre for price: 1 hamburger, 1 quesadilla like flat sandwich (Cuban??: 1 slice of ham and withered lettuce), 1 order of fries, soda came to $24+ all served on paper and plastic tray. 3. Ambiance? Think of an Empty Cafeteria in the middle of the woods.

I have ordered from this place for years and it's great until today whoever is in charge of the phone is so rude. This is the first time in a long time I ordered from them and I get really bad customer service. I ordered online waited an hour for it and had to call. The lady told me the app didn't notify them that it was delivery so they were just going to send it. 40 mins after, I still haven't received anything so I called back. The lady tells me that I should wait because I am not the only delivery and there are 7 other deliveries so I should keep waiting with the nastiest attitude as if it was my fault that I had to wait for over an hour and 40 mins for my food that was promoted as "max 45 mins" in the app. So I had to keep waiting for my food because of a mixed up on their end as it clearly states in the confirmation email that I got from that that it was "delivery" with all my information. Finally after almost 2 hours, it arrives and of course, cold and all over the place in the containers. Do not recommend this place anymore. And apparently she is the manager of this place. She was even rude to my bf and hung up on him.

Mind-blown. I often daydream about this place. Burgers, hot dogs, and the shakes are phenomenal!! The fries are a miss though, nothing crazy about them... Kinda bland actually. Please give us great fries!!!!! Colombian food is my weakness lol

Dont know what the racve is about... went for a early dinner with no one else there... food took over 30 mins... the picada is dry.. plate looks big but on the bottom of the meat is a mountain of fries.. def not worth the money... burger was decent. Chicken nugget for the kids was just frozen nuggets that they reheat. Will not be going back

Overpriced and nothing special. $5 for a hot dog?? The toppings were good but I wouldn't ever pay $5 again for them. I was still hungry after the ONE hot dog so I ordered 2 beef empanadas. Again, nothing special at all. Blah. I had read about how great these hot dogs were supposed to be, I found the toppings to be the best part of the whole "meal". The dog itself had no flavor and was a cheap variety. Usually if an empanada isn't all that flavorful, if I have a good salsa to top it off, I'll be happy but, in this case, it was just the plain green sauce. Bad experience. Will not return.

Been coming to this place for years. Live a block from this location. My TO-GO burger place . They dont do curly fries anymore. They need to inprove better their fries & make them crunchy like 2 rs ago. The hawaiian burger , is the best one on the menu ; FRESh & JUICY . MY FAVORITE IS THE CUBAN SANDWICH. Very Hot toasted , Delightful , delicious. Juices are great also. Customer service is alright. FOOD still Great.
