Our tour guide dropped us off in the area and we were looking for a place to eat. We didn't want to venture too far from the Tube entrance. I noticed this crepe shop from across the street and close enough to the Tube and I was curious.
We walked over to check out the menu and decided to stay for lunch. The savory crepes were reasonably priced starting at £8 to £11, but the duck crepe costs a bit more and the sweet crepes were from £4 to £6. They also offer dessert waffles, small salads and wine/beer/cider by the glass.
Our server told us that they did not receive the order today and so they may not have all the ingredients, depending on the crepe ordered (honesty goes a long way!!), but she did say she could substitute ingredients (smoked ham in lieu of regular ham). We ordered the traditional, raclette, alsacienne crepes, plus a nutella crepe for dessert. They had a menu special of a savory & a sweet crepe with a beverage for £14-that was a good deal. Each of the crepes were unbelievably delicious...I have not eaten such a delicious crepe in the U.S., not even close.
The crepes were enormous by my standard and seemed over filled and bursting with ingredients. It was so large that I had difficulty finishing....such a waste, but I did the best I could. The flavor was perfect--I didn't need to add anything. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I wish I wasn't here on such a short stay, otherwise I would definitely return. It's a small cute little shop, seating for maybe 20 people. The crepes are made in the front of the window, you could watch, if you had the desire. If you don't come here for the crepes, come here to relax and have a small salad and/or latte or cappuccino.
