Where to Order Manhattans in LA in 2024 | Eater

"Whether it’s for a pre-movie meal, a shopping trip respite, or a destination of its own, this Italian eatery at The Grove is a popular stop. On a nice evening, grab a seat on the terrace for great people-watching and the fountain show, and order an Angel’s Envy Manhattan and the cioppino (the vermouth in the former and the wine in the latter can play well together). It’s worth missing the movie trailers for a serving of the tiramisu, as well." - Vox Creative

17 Spots to Sip Cocktails in the Los Angeles Area | Eater

"This Italian restaurant and bar at the Grove retail complex provides the perfect outdoor perch for refueling with a drink and a bite. Take in the Grove’s vibrant pedestrian scene on the patio with the Piazza Pizzaz cocktail. The simple yet refreshing spritzer is a combo of Grey Goose Essences Watermelon and Basil, simple syrup, and soda water. It plays well with the menu of sophisticated Italian fare with dishes like a caprese salad or squid ink pasta with seafood." - Vox Creative

We had both pizza and pasta, and everything was delicious. The service was warm and attentive, and the freshly baked bread came to the table perfectly warm. Sitting by the fountain made for a delightful setting on a summer afternoon — a truly enjoyable dining experience! Highly recommend for a family or date night.

Came here for my birthday dinner and the atmosphere and service were great. The food was pricey for what it was but I understand needing to up-charge due to location. Before ordering the pesto, I asked if it leaned creamy or oily. The server said it was on the creamier side, and it was very oily. Ended up just eating some of my partners dish (the rigatoni with vodka sauce-it was amazing) and boxed mine up. Probably wouldn’t go back but it was a fun experience.

The food was pretty good but so overpriced! No way should I spending 12 dollars on some sparkling water! My pizza was pretty good we got the cheapest one 23 dollars which was a pretty reasonable price. The place was nice though, a band was playing near the water fountain. Seating was pretty good not very crowded, but it did take a second for a waitor/ waitress to come over to our table but once they did they were attentive. Overall not bad just make sure when you go you just got your pay check recently.

Let’s set the scene: A beautiful exterior, romantic glow, chic patio — it looks like the kind of place that should whisk you away to Italy for the night. But once you sit down and the plates arrive… well, let’s just say the magic fades. We were four people, and here’s the real tea: all four pasta dishes were underwhelming. • My friend’s ravioli? Way too salty. • My bolognese? Tasted canned, not like fresh, lovingly simmered sauce. • The “fresh pasta” they proudly market? Didn’t have the taste or texture to back it up. • Our other two friends? Same verdict — unimpressed and underwhelmed. The only saving grace? The pizza. But even then, I’ve had better pizza at less expensive spots, where you’re paying for flavor and craft, not just the Grove address. Service was okay — friendly enough — but here’s the truth: no level of polite service can fully rescue a meal when the kitchen falls short. ⭐ Final verdict: Beautiful setting, average-to-poor food, not worth the price. Come for the ambiance if you must, but don’t come expecting a pasta revelation.

Armando and Angel and Chef Gustavo and Tony were excellent This food was delicious I ordered the rack of lamb and my sister ordered the fillet and the margaritas were fire. Definitely a new spot. Oooh and octopus was exceptional 😋🥰

La Piazza is located inside the grove. It has outdoor and indoor seating. I opted to sit out door to enjoy some fresh air and the water fountain show. The atmosphere is lovely. It’s great for a casual dinner or a romantic date. Now let’s get to the food. I ordered crab cakes for my appetizer. The crab cakes were pretty delicious. It was my favorite part of my meal experience. I had the lasagna as my main course, and honestly I wasn’t wowed. For an upscale restaurant, It was good but I’ve had better. It just wasn’t cheesy or meaty enough. I’m a big “rich in ingredients”lasagna person so maybe I’m hard to impress. I decided on the creme brûlée for dessert. It also fell short of my expectations. It could have been creamier and the top thicker. The strawberries were fresh. I enjoyed those. Maybe next time I’ll try the Tiramisu because for me this dessert was not spectacular. The dining experience was nice. I people watched and enjoyed the fountain show. Our server was a pleasant guy. Some of the other staff had a vibe that was a bit off but I get it, standing on your feet all day is hard. I wasn’t feeling 100% great (not their fault, I had a bit of exhaustion) so I didn’t try their drinks. I was actually looking forward to the wines but opted to stay away from alcohol. All in all, I would recommend for the atmosphere and the crab cakes. I will go back and try their pizzas. It’s something I’m not super picky about. When I do, I’ll let yall know.

While I was eating I got something sharp stuck in my throat. I could not talk anymore and rushed to the bathroom and had to throw up to get it out of my throat. IT WAS A SHARP PEICE OF METAL!!! I took the metal piece down and I was super unhappy and asked one of the servers to bring the Owner of the restaurant immediately. A fashionable lady came and I handed her the piece of metal after taking the attached picture and she looked at it and said “this is from the metal scrubber that we use to clean the dishes!”than she took this piece of metal with her and walked away. NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY!!! This morning I waked up feeling a scratch in my throat! Also I gave the server my parking ticket to validate so I do not pay for the parking. He went inside and came back and handed me my ticket saying it is good and I do not have to worry about paying the parking which turned to be not true and I paid for the parking. Overall not a good experience and they might hear soon from me if I have to go to the doctor.

Yelp
Love Piazza - A Beautiful Spot for a Night Out After a long day of sales calls, one of our reps suggested we check out Love Piazza--and it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was stunning. The interior, the charming exterior, and especially the tables along the fountain created a perfect setting. If you're looking for a date night with music, fountains, and a lively crowd, this is the place to be! As for the food, it was a mixed experience. While the ambiance was top-notch, the Cacio e Pepe fell a bit short dry and lacking that creamy, cheesy texture we expected. A little extra cheese (and maybe some pasta water!) could have made a difference. But overall, the setting alone makes La Piazza worth a visit. Absolutely beautiful! Also, we had a really good server stayed on top of the table.

Yelp
unfortunately had a bad customer experience, had to ask for bread and eventually ask for the oil and vinegar, to my surprise it was brought in small separate plastic containers. We order Calamari Fritti, the batter was good but the Calamari were hard and very chewy, I order the Cioppino which was poor in flavor. service was also poor.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came to La Piazza for the first time. Been meaning to try it for years, so we finally decided to give it a shot and we were pleasantly surprised. It was a slow Monday night but I've seen it much busier during the weekend. Our food tasted very delicious. I ordered the chicken Marsala and my girlfriend the spaghetti cacio and we were so satisfied. For appetizers we ordered the mushroom croquettes, the fig & burrata bruschetta. As someone who's not usually crazy about burrata but can definitely enjoy it, this felt like exceptionally delicious burrata. The figs were ultra fresh. Our drinks were also delicious. Now the big issue here is the price tag. For two appetizer items, two main dishes, 3 drinks and dessert, we paid $229.95. As others said on this page, Cheesecake Factory will be much more affordable. Probably half the price. We were expecting a high price tag so I don't feel like we can complain much. Service was very kind and attentive the whole time. Would come back but consider very carefully what to order in advance.

Yelp
Very PLAIN food. No flavor. Calamari extremely dry. Caesar salad plain- no flavor. Barely any cheese. Very underwhelming. More like a tourist trap restaurant. Unfortunate for locals like us.

Yelp
Ambiance: It's front and center. They have plenty of tables outside near the fountain where you can people watch and just soak in "the grove" (we came this past Saturday during Holiday season). Food: Was excellent. I erroneously ordered the Diavola pizza thinking it would be pepperoni, but it was only cheese. But I'd be lying if I didn't say it was some of the best cheese pizza I've had. My wife ordered the avocado toast and she said it was also amazing. She said very rarely do places get the poached eggs correct and they definitely did in this case. The grilled chicken we ordered for our son off the kids menu was also super good (pleasantly seasoned and tasty). The prices are pretty typical of LA so know it wont be a $15 per person type of lunch, but either way, we left very happy.

Yelp

Yelp
Fun place to stop when visiting The Grove. Cute vibes, yummy food, not overtly priced. Girls night out was accompanied by tasty pasta and salad. The penne tricolore was our favorite, add the sauté mushrooms to take the dish to the next level!! The servers were kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We were pleasantly surprised they could seat us on a Saturday night with no reservation. We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
To secure a table I made a reservation two days before. They make you give them your cc info to charge you $25 if you don't show up. We arrived for lunch at 1145. Sat outside. Service was polite and prompt. After we ordered they asked for a CC in case we eat and run off. I suppose L.A. has its issues. I had the fettuccine w/truffle oil, blackened shrimp, mushrooms and added meatballs. Was tasty. The sauce became more sticky like glue as the plate cooled. I would not eat here again. We would probably get another lunch just as tasty and cheaper at Cheesecake Factory and without the need to surrender a credit card before we got our food.

Yelp
What a waste of location! Unbelievably overpriced, crapy service , meh food and just weird everything .... Mexican pizza that used to be with shrimp for $30 before , now is $30 without shrimp . Well, you can add the shrimp now, but guess what ? Whopping $18 more for just a few small pieces of added shrimp. We did not have any drinks , just water , because , we tried 3 of their white wines , and all three tasted SOUR (as in - gone bad sour) so we passed on drinks on Saturday night all together. I had a Caruso salad with added salmon , also another $16 extra charge . We paid $100 for one crappy pizza and one mediocre salad . Don't go here and waste your money . You are better off going to the farmers market and at least, you'll have decent food with normal price

Yelp
Been coming to La Piazza for years and I absolutely love them. I mean what's not to love? Great food, wine, cocktails, service and ambiance. A good people watching spot or a spot to hit to break up your shopping day or to grab a quick drink before your movie at the theater across the way. Don't forget to get validated and if you can get a table in Edwin's section you won't regret it. His smile and cheerful personality makes you feel like you're seeing an old friend.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant again to celebrate my husband's birthday. We came on a Thursday night and were seated within 10 mins of waiting. We decided to try something new so we went with the Margherita Pizza and Rigatoni al Fue Pasta, both a great choice cause they were delicious! There were no left overs so definitely will be ordering the same items next time!

Yelp
One of the best Italian restaurants I have been to! I can't I'm for lunch and ordered an iced tea, and a glass of the Pinot Grigio white wine. My friend had a glass of their red and a coke. We loved the bread and we had to order the Burrata with tomato's. The dish was perfect, the cheese was soft and paired so well with the basil and balsamic. I ordered the gnocchi and my friend enjoyed another pasta dish. We were both in heaven! The pasta was light and pillowy and the tomato sauce that was on it was glorious. I would 100% come back. This is a pricier place, but the grove is stunning and we did enjoy our views outside on their patio. Great for a date night, or to come for a celebration. Our servers so polite, attentive and took great care of us!

Yelp
The meal was good, but they charged me $10 for a lemonade and I asked for a refill and they said no refills.. $10 for a lemonade is ridiculous! Won't be coming back just because of that.

Yelp
I went here for a valentine's day lunch and the service was good. I took the pizza to-go and the next day it already started molding. This pizza was around $30 so you'd expect it to be high quality. Honestly would not go back after this.

Yelp
Came to this italian restaurant to drink some wine and relax during the weekend at the grove. Vibes were really nice and it made me feel like I shook go to Italy soon. Penne Pomodoro Pasta 3/5 - My partner liked this dish a lot because of its simplicity and quality of the taste. I would say it would be a 5/5 but it just was not worth it for me in the end. Pairing it with a red wine made it taste better though. Fetuccine e Funghi al Tartufo 5/5 - Holy crap I'm definitely gonna be craving this 24/7. I love truffle taste and even better when it's in pasta. I saw photos of this dish and I had to get it. Everything about it was very well put together and you can taste the quality of the ingredients for sure. They even throw in a couple slices of real truffle in it as well which was a plus. The grilled shrimp you get with the dish was huge and well worth it. Overall this creamy and flavorful dish will be forever remembered. Overall, although a little pricey, I think that this place is still pretty good since it's right at the heart of the grove. You're able to just grab a glass of wine or even a half bottle for a better worth it price and enjoy the vibes. Service was also pretty attentive as well.

Yelp
The good: the restaurant is in a prime location in The Grove. Right when you exit the parking garage and enter the shopping area, this restaurant is one of the first things you see. To improve: my husband and I were both seated at around 9:30 and our order was taken within 10 minutes. We ordered a Caesar's salad, two pasta entrees, an iced tea, and a lemonade. Luckily, we received our salad about 15 minutes from when we put our order. The salad, though, was pretty disappointing. It was a small portion and definitely not worth the $20 price. Then, we waited and waited. It wasn't until 30 minutes into service that we finally got our drinks and it was because we requested it from a different server. Our server did show up to our table once after taking our order (about 45 minutes into waiting) and he asked us if we were ready for dessert. Then, realizing we never got our entrees, laughed it off and said "oh wait, your food is coming." YIKES. And one hour into waiting, our entrees still hadn't arrived and it was already close to closing time. When we looked around, parties that arrived after us had already gotten their order. My husband eventually let what looked like a manager know of our concerns and let them know that we were no longer waiting. I was even more disappointed that there was no explanation of what had happened or being apologetic for our experience. This made me feel like they didn't care at all. They did comp our drinks and salad which was nice, but all in all, I CAN'T RECOMMEND. Save your money and eat at other places down the street (which is what we did).

Yelp
The ambience in the restaurant was nice and classic however, why would you squeeze in so many tables that people can't even come in and out of their tables I literally had to slide my chair out to the right before I could get out of my table we were backed up against a column. My ciopino tasted like it was overcooked in pasta sauce, not brothy by any standard. Hard shrimp gummy calamari, the fish was good. My sister ordered a salad which cost $34 because chicken was $12 extra. It was maybe half a chicken breast. I ordered crème brûlée for dessert. There was almost no hardened caramelized sugar. You can still see the sugar granules on top. The setting was beautiful outside facing the fountain but we were packed in there like sardines. Also, I be night we were there, the ladies bathroom had a leak coming from the ceiling light fixture. They had buckets and towels on the ground but it was a mess.

Yelp
Came here pre-Thanksgiving holiday and spotted Santa, reindeers, and sled already prepping for Christmas which was a good landmark for finding the restaurant, as Rudolph's lit-up, red nose points right to the entrance. La Piazza has more pizzas upstairs than downstairs. It is a bit noisy, especially in the outdoor seating area, due to music we personally didn't love, so we dined inside. However if people watching is your thing, you might enjoy sitting outside which is warmed by fire-lit heaters. Inside and downstairs with the doors open it was a bit chilly and drafty. The menu is on the pricey side. Out of the dishes me and a friend tired; we ordered Beef Carpaccio ($28) - told that it was great and most popular item on the menu and it was to quote my friend (who loves carpaccio) that it was just "meh... not very flavorful or impressive". However, what was impressive is that one of the seating staff, Alisa, the friendliest asset this restaurant has, took it off the bill... (something our male waiter, who asked how we liked everything didn't offer). Alisa's gracious gesture made us want to give this place a second chance. (I'll post an updated review when we do.) I ordered the Cesar Salad ($20); the other "most popular dish on the menu. It was albeit fresh, also pretty bland and just "meh". You can spice it up with a ($4) very generous portion of anchovies (the most I've ever seen added to a Cesar salad), which might make this dish more appealing. My friend was going to get a digestive (Sambuca), but at $20 for a tiny glass, he decided to pass. The service is friendly and accommodating, (especially Alisa who increased my rating of this restaurant), and overall the restaurant has a nice vibe and ambiance; especially upstairs, which closes earlier than the bottom part of the restaurant. La Piazza is conveniently located if you want to go to the movies (essentially across the street). Validation is only two hours, vs 4 at the theater, but even with 4 hours you still pay $5 for parking, and after 4, regular rates apply. Be sure to keep your movie stub to get validation!

Yelp
I came here for a quick drink before watching the re-release of Interstellar. I'd never been, so I thought "why not"? I sat at the bar. The bartender seemed nice. I didn't get a name, but that's rare these days, and I'm a bartender. Now LOVE whiskey sours. Random, but I do. I'm ordering it before I even see the price, but luckily it's $16. That's incredibly cheap for any drink in LA. Keep in mind, I was getting the drink REGARDLESS of the price; I fully expected it to be around $20. He drops off my drink, and I give him my card for the bill because I don't want to be late for the movie. He brings it, and I see I've been charged $24 instead of $16 +tax. I look at the itemized receipt, and I see I was charged for an Angel's Envy sour, not the listed one that POINTED at (mind you). I tip $5 anyway even though I knew he was being shady. I ask him about it, and he tells me he'll find out what happened. He comes back and tells me, "We are out of the well whiskey, so we're using Angel's Envy. I'm sorry." I tell him, "I get that, but there's a large difference between $16 and $22. You need to tell people." I downed my drink and left. I'm a bartender, and I know he did that on purpose to up the check. Unacceptable. The drink was delicious though!!

Yelp
Long time ago this restaurant was great but now is not good anymore we came last night for a beer and they charged us 28 dlls for 2 beers plus tax plus tip ... I don't mind to pay even more but for a place on a plaza is overprice I have been to really good famous restaurants and I had never had paid 14 dlls for a beer this is crazy service was poor too . This place is a disappointment no wonder we it's always Emphy ... they leave from tourist and fist time customers I'm 100 % sure that they done have returning traffic here !

Yelp
10/10 ! Me and my boyfriend were craving some pasta and found this restaurant right in the grove cause we wanted to shop around after. Walked up, the concierge greeted us and told us it would be.l few minutes for our table which me wanted outside and upstairs seated up upstairs! I got a Caesar salad and basket bread 10/10 so delicious. I ordered the Spaghetti Alle Vongole... HEAVEN! So damn gooood. I tore that plate up!!! Definitely coming back with my man
google avatar

Yelp
My friend and I had the chance to sit outside. The service was very attentive and served us promptly. We were indecisive of what we wanted so we decided to split a margherita pizza and carbonara pasta. You pay for the view, not the food. It's not authentic Italian, but was filling.
google avatar

Trish M.

Yelp
Nice place, but super busy. There is ample outdoor seating, but if you like a less crowded environment, you can ask to be seated on the second floor balcony. We were seated under a portico in the exterior of the restaurant. It was comfortable, although a bit crowded. I ordered the spinach salad with grilled shrimp. It comes with candies walnuts, feta cheese, and an aged balsamic vinaigrette. Husband ordered the cheese ravioli with chicken and a margherite pizza to share. The cheese ravioli was ok, but not the best I've had. The margherite pizza and the spinach salad were both very good. The grilled shrimp was absolutely delicious. All in all it was a good dining experience in a super busy environment. Our server was friendly and provided good service.
google avatar

Su L.

Yelp
The food was decent but the service here was horrible. They were busy but not too bad as there were still empty tables. The server acted like it was a bother to ask for a refill of our water and offered no extra cheese with our pasta. We ordered a caprese salad and asked for some extra olive oil and balsamic vinegar and our server said they were out. WTH?! Our server told us that they only had it for the kitchen. So crazy! I would not come here if you are looking for a full service dining experience as you will be frustrated with the lack of service. They they suggested a 20% tip. What a joke. Spent over $300 and felt like we would have been happier at McDonald's!

Yelp
The food was not that great. The family (party of 5) ordered one pizza, a GF pasta dish, and French fries. The pizza dough tasted old and stale. The fries were okay at best and the pasta was not great. We paid over $200 for our meal. The service was good (only reason why it was a 3 ) The young lady (Edina) was super helpful and friendly. The men's restroom was trash. It smelled and half the stuff was broken. The female's restroom was dirty as well. I know, not eating in the restrooms BUT it' speaks to your operation. Talked with a manager about it all and she knocked off $12 We won't be going back. Could have had a better experience and food at Cheesecake Factory (just saying).
google avatar

Yelp
This "Italian" restaurant doesn't serve olive oil with their bread. Not sure I buy their response that they could not find a high enough quality import (we are in LA mind you). And for the food itself, my Diavola had taste and texture to that of CPK's. I like CPK, and next time I'll just go there, because I also prefer paying CPK prices. Ambiance was good. Service was slow.
google avatar

Romina T.

Yelp
The food took me back to Italy! My family stopped by here while shopping at The Grove. It is located right in front of the fountain and it was a beautiful day to sit out on the patio and people watch and enjoy the lovey weather! Italian food is our family's favorite and we all loved our dishes! It was authentic Italian pasta just like we had in Italy! The service staff were very friendly and our food came out fast! Definitely recommend this place and can't wait to come back and try other dishes!

Yelp
I am compelled to write a review after our experience dinning here... and by the look of more recent reviews, it seems as if something has changed drastically with this restaurant. Food: I've had more fresh and flavorful food at big chain restaurants. The sauce was cold and watered down and our salad was bland with no real flavor. Paying $42 for bruschetta and having it taste like nothing is beyond disappointing. I don't mind paying top prices for my food, but I got pasta as good as the one served at Disneyland...$5 for a fountain drink.. nothing new really. But, when you get served about maybe 10 oz. of soda w/ no refills, plain robbery. Service: I get that we were seated by the fountain and that means not within the restaurants limits but we were asked for our credit card before even ordering, which again is fine. But the big issue here was that after being asked for my card, I sat and watched the waiters interaction with other tables around us...and all I will say is that...not all tables were asked for a credit card to be held.... This is a tourist trap and nothing more County Fair Food with a Gucci Belt on.

Yelp
Please be careful they will upcharge you. Please check your receipt and tips sections after they are posted on your bank. They will modify your tips as they please. They are shady business

Yelp
I visited this place yesterday and had a great time. The service was great and the staff were very friendly. Food came out really fast, drinks tasted great and the food was very delicious as well. First time here but I will definitely be back again. Great place to dine out with friends and family. The ambiance is very family friendly and welcoming

Yelp
I can't blame this place for being bad, per se, it's not, but I guess I ate here expecting it to be more of an Italian restaurant, more authentic. But It's not and reminds me of an inauthentic Italian restaurant in Vegas. I just get the feeling that it's chain food, not handmade or hand cooked, can't really put my finger on it, but definitely not a "nice Italian restaurant" for the price.
google avatar

Yelp
Had brunch here with a girlfriend Sunday and had a great experience. We sat outside next to the fountain as it was a beautiful day. I had the avocado toast and my girlfriend had the salmon eggs Benedict. Both were really good. The gal who waited on us was friendly and attentive. Good brunch spot to have--and keep--in rotation.

Yelp
This is overpriced Italian food mediocre at best. Couldn't even get bread at the table or even basic salt and pepper shakers. Do not go here, not worth it at all. Also, I've never been asked for my credit card prior to eating. Will not be coming back.

Yelp
I've been a loyal customer for 8 years, so I was shocked by my experience today (12/02/24) when I ordered food to go. My niece picked up the order as she was dining in the reresturant that evening. When it arrived, I was really upset. I ordered my usual--Pepperoni Pizza (with a side of goat cheese and fresh garlic) and Arugula Shrimp Salad--yet what I received was far from what I expected. Instead of my regular order, I got a kids' pizza in a large box and an Arugula salad that was missing the shrimp. For a total of $56, I felt cheated! That breaks down to $22 for arugula leaves alone and $29 for a kids' pizza. The math doesn't add up, as on top of that, there was an unexplained $5 charge added to the receipt??? For years, I've enjoyed these same items when dining in, yet somehow, ordering to go led to a completely different and more expensive meal. It's frustrating because it's not just about the price; it's about receiving what I actually ordered! When I called to express my concerns, the manager, Alisa Chiota, told me that I could choose to eat at a different place if I didn't like the prices. That wasn't the point--I simply wanted what I ordered. After pressing the issue, she escalated it to the General Manager, Reda Alili, who is supposed to call me back with a resolution. I hope this can be resolved because I've had consistently good experiences in the past. It's disappointing to see such a drop in service and quality.

Yelp
Food is amazing. I had a reservation and was sat before my time - the stand by line looked long so I would suggested a reservation. Only downside - we were sat across the way from the actual restaurant. Very chaotic and lots of people and dogs walking right near you and the food. If possible, request a table at the actual restaurant.

Yelp
Food: 3.5 stars Service: 4 stars Ambiance: 4.5 stars First, my vongole pasta noodle was not fully cooked. It was about 60% cooked, and sauce a bit salty. Spaghetti that came with chicken parmigiana also wasn't fully cooked, but it was cooked better than vongole. Chicken was good though. Pizza was better than expected, and their pomodora & burrata bruschett was very good. I totally recommend since this was my favorite dish.

Yelp
Had dinner and was disappointed. My Gnocchi was cold. The waiter was not very attentive. Lots of staff but my water glass was never filled. The salad was lacking taste and the waiter brought it after the main course. The other staff cleared our table and took our utensils and did not bring more so we had to ask for them after staff dropped food but did not ask if we needed anything. So salad was yuck, gnocchi was cold, water glass not refilled. Never asked if we wanted either pepper, or cheese on the dish. You would think they would offer grated fresh cheese grated table side. And the appetizer was not what we were told. It was taste but I specifically asked how it was served if grilled and it was actually served with cheese. Overpriced food. The heat lamps don't work well so we had to move inside. Really disappointed. They have a lot of staff but not very attentive. Food was not worth the price. Lots of options so don't waste your money.

Yelp
La Piazza did not disappoint at all. The food was delicious. We ordered two appetizers, three main course dishes and two drinks. Every dish was tasty. The server was helpful with explaining the menu. She made suggestions on the appetizer and she suggested which bar drink to get. The seating is hit or miss. We sat outside near the walkway. It was a little tight for three people. Next time we will choose a section that has enough room so that all of our plates can fit comfortably on the table. The food is a little pricey. With the items we got the ticket was roughly $165 not including the tip. Just be mindful you're also paying for the beautiful scenery at the grove. It's not a place I would visit frequently just on occasions.

Yelp
I do not have a complain with the service and ambiance. They are good. The only thing that we are not satisfied is the food. They served it very cold (calamari, pizza and the pasta). I hope they could improve it next time.

Yelp
Today I went to this place with my friends. My friend ordered a Coke, but instead of a can, it was a fountain drink in a small glass, costing 5 dollars. My friend asked for a refill, and the waiter said we don't offer refills on fountain drinks. I've been to this restaurant many times before, and I've always received refills. If they've changed the policy, charging $5 for a small glass with no refill seems unacceptable. When we got the check, the waiter kind of lectured us about tipping. He pointed out the suggested tips on the receipt 18%, 20%, 22% and told us to write down the tip and total. Honestly, my friends and I didn't feel very good. A few weeks ago, I went to this place with my husband. I asked the hostess if we could sit outside by the fountain, and she just handed us a menu and told us to find a table. I felt really bad because she didn't properly host us. However, she hosted other customers, and they seated at a table outside by the fountain. Which is next to our table :-0 I felt more and more uncomfortable, like I was being treated unfairly. I've been coming to this restaurant since high school. But today the more I go to this restaurant, the more disappointed I get. The owner needs to train the waitstaff and hostess some basic customer service and respect. I dont wanna go to this place anymore.

Yelp
At La Piazza in The Grove, the outdoor ambiance is truly inviting, perfect for those seeking a vibrant atmosphere. However, our dining experience was mixed. -- While the four cheese pizza was tasty, the overwhelming blue cheese flavor dominated the palate. Skip the blue for a milder taste -- The steak, unfortunately, was overcooked and dry, leaving much to be desired. -- Calamari was tasty and well seasoned -- Cesar Salad was fresh and tasty Additionally, the service was slower than expected, resulting in longer wait times for our food. Overall, while the location and vibe were excellent, we had hoped for better quality and service.

Yelp
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city. My all-time favorite dish is the Chitarrine alla Checca pasta with chicken. The service is good, but you may have to wait in line on busy days. Sitting outside near the fountain is beautiful, though it can be quite loud inside.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would. The food is so bad, no tastes, no quality, nothing. It might be the worse food I've ever had in any restaurant. And to top that there was a mandatory 22% tip. And on top of that too they didn't ask us to validate the parking ticket so we had to pay $21.00 for parking. So yourself a favor and do not eat here. Any other place will be better.

Yelp
The food was good, service was great, who ever tuned the food had a bad attitude, and my experience was not pleasant when I wanted use the restroom, it was nasty, dirty, I looked for the manager , it wasn't at the store by the time. Poor management

Yelp
This place is not worth the money. The pizza tasted old and like it had been sitting out. You're better off at Costco. Server was not knowledgeable of gluten allergy. We waited over 40 minutes for our food and my gluten free pasta came out wrong. There were nats flying around our table. The bathroom was a mess.

Yelp
The service was disappointing. We arrived on time for our 5:45 PM reservation 12/13/2024, but it took approximately 15 minutes to be seated. Once seated, a Latino gentleman was pouring water at other tables, but we were not served, possibly because our table was located near the edge, facing the movie theater, and he was clearly aware as what he was doing. We were never greeted by our server, and I had to approach the manager to request that a server attend to our table. By the time the server arrived, it was already 6:16 PM. The food was acceptable, but the overall experience seemed more influenced by the restaurant's location than its service. Additionally, the bathroom was unclean, and there were no paper towels available. The restaurant is poorly managed.

Yelp
The view from the balcony is spectacular and the service was excellent. And our group really enjoyed the prosciutto and burrata appetizer, but our entrees left us less than satisfied. We were there for a late breakfast and our order of steak and eggs came with a tiny portion of steak (perhaps 3 or 4oz?). I ordered chicken and waffles and can honestly say it was the worst attempt at the dish I have ever had: the waffles looked like eggos, the chicken was processed breaded strips, and the syrup tasted like cheap imitation syrup - don't put something like this on the menu and charge $28! The only person that enjoyed their dish had pizza. I would take off more stars, but the server was excellent and had our bill adjusted quickly.

Yelp
ordered a dish that ended up being overly salty and didn't taste anything like it was supposed to. When I brought this up to the staff and politely asked for it to be replaced, they took my plate back to the kitchen. However, to my surprise, they brought back the exact same dish instead of preparing a new one. The waitress then informed me that they couldn't replace it because I had already eaten half of it! I found this response incredibly disappointing and unprofessional, as I expected better service and consideration for my complaint.
