Incredible food!!! you can taste the cultural influence and Italian roots in the cuisine; one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in nyc yet. And that says something. The food was excellent and extremely fresh the atmosphere and the staff are so inviting and welcoming the restaurant is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. This place is a gem; if you’re exploring east 49th street don’t forget to stop here for some authentic Italian you won’t be disappointed. I celebrated my mothers birthday here we will certainly be returning again soon

I had a great experience here! I came here for just dessert and ended up having some drinks and a delicious margherita pizza! They also have happy hour exclusively at the bar from 3-6 pm. Service was fascinating,server will always check on us,we ordered an aperol spritz but it was a bit sour so they didn’t have a problem with redoing it,customer service is definitely given here. Food as I mentioned earlier was good,I also ordered a panacotta and we had a tiramisu! And that strawberry mule was pretty good too! I will be back for a full meal experience

We were greeted warmly by the host, whose genuine hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. There was no rush, only a sense of being truly welcomed, as if stepping into an elegant Italian home rather than just a restaurant. The atmosphere was intimate and thoughtfully curated, but what truly elevated the night was the chef Alessandro. Rarely does one encounter a chef so deeply involved in the guest experience. He personally came to our table, not once but throughout the evening, taking the time to explain each dish with passion, precision, and pride. Every course felt like a story rooted in tradition, elevated by technique, and finished with unmistakable love for the craft. Each plate arrived as a masterpiece. The balance of flavors, the quality of the ingredients, and the attention to detail were outstanding. Having the chef explain the inspiration, preparation, and origin of every dish transformed the meal into an unforgettable culinary journey. The service was flawless from start to finish: attentive, seamless, and perfectly timed. Every need was anticipated without ever feeling intrusive, reinforcing the sense of personalized and full-service. Without hesitation, a perfect score and a place I will enthusiastically recommend and return to again and again.

We had a party of 8 and were thrilled to get last minute reservations after our broadway play. The welcoming and cozy ambiance started as we walked in the door and were greeted by a lovely hostess. The waiter and manager were helpful, friendly and proficient. Our dinners were all delicious, including scrumptious Chicken Marsala and Margarita Pizza (just the best!) Two of us asked for a mocktail and were not disappointed by the bartender's yummy cherry and pineapple concoction. The deserts were large portions including a tiramisu and chocolate gelato (best to split one!) Our leisurely Venetian dining experience was just perfect for our last night in New York City. Stumbled on this amazing gem while going to the Saks light show. Between the amazing greeting by the hostess and the staff it was our best overall experience after a week in NYC! We had seafood pasta and tomato spaghetti and it was mouthwatering. How good can pasta be? Their chef figures out how to elevate the culinary experience. When we asked if they had a dessert we had experienced in Italy of lemon sorbet and prosecco they didn’t but then created it. My black Manhattan was delicious and the overall space very cool and inviting! Our only constructive advice? If you sit near the door on a winter night prepare for frequent chill as the customers come and go. One of those places that’s a must return next time we come to NY!

Such a wonderful dining experience! Every bite was bursting with flavor and the dishes tasted freshly made. The staff made me feel truly welcome with their warm and attentive service. The drinks were exceptional too, beautifully mixed and full of character. I can’t wait to visit again!

After wrapping up running around NYC, I was hoping to find a pizza restaurant along my way back to catch an Amtrak home. Doing a quick Yelp search & removing the promoted content, La Piazza popped up meeting my requirements. From the moment I walked in, all the way through my exit, I felt like I was appreciated by simply being a guest in their establishment. A very charming young lady greeted me and after quickly confirming they would not be closing anytime soon, I was offered options for where I could dine. Menus for dinner & adult beverages were offered, and she immediately stated, if I had questions, do not hesitate to ask. I knew what I wanted, & after closing my menus, I was promptly attended to. A margarita pizza, with a caesar salad would be perfect - along with a glass of Malbec and a Coke. Everything was handled with almost perfect timing. My salad, Coke & water made their way to my table. The Caesar salad was light, refreshing and delicious. The dressing wasn't slathered on - more is better, right? Not always & this was a prime example. A delicious balance of flavors made the salad a great decision. As I was 60% through my salad, a very nice bartender came over & poured my glass of Malbec. I was holding off drinking so I could enjoy for when my pizza arrived. The front of house manager was making his rounds and checked on me, making sure all was up to standards. I think his name was Troy (my apologies if wrong), clearly believed what he was selling: a great dining experience. He was spot on. Shortly after, he came back with my pizza and it looked fantastic. He said, please enjoy the rest of your salad but I suggest to take a bite while it is still hot. I did as he suggested and wow. Fresh, flavorful and well made- the only item I would knock is they didn't cut the 13" pizza into 8 slices - just 4. It didn't need any extras - no salt, pepper, garlic or pepper flakes. It was just right. The waiter, host & manager all stopped to check if all was still going well - it was as it exceeded expectations. As a polite and friendly gesture, the manager offered a sweet treat before I made my way home. I declined 2 times but the 3rd, I gave in. A slide of cheesecake was offered for me to enjoy and round out the meal. Truth be told - I don't like cheesecake. But, everything else was good, why stop now? I told the manager I didn't like the cheesecake (wink) after consuming 95% of it. Pretty damn impressive. I thanked the staff and they all hoped to see me again sometime soon. After a meal like this, I might be making more trips to NYC. For the pizza snobs that will say, Big Little Vinny's place is better, that's great for Big Little Vinny. This entire meal was like a well tuned machine. You will often find a place that hits 1 or 2 items of what makes a great dining experience. La Piazza was as close to perfect that 1 might enjoy. I recommend checking the menu and stopping in for lunch (they have a number of happy hour specials) or a reservation for dinner. Come hungry & come back often. It's absolutely worth it. Pathetic scammy restaurant. We saw their $10 Aperol Spritz Happy Hour promo on a Sunday and decided to try it. The blonde hostess sat us down immediately without saying a single word about restrictions. The waiter came, we asked for regular tap water - apparently too honest for them, because they charged us for bottled water anyway. When the bill came out, it showed $20 per Aperol Spritz instead of $10. We asked, and the hostess smirked and said, "Oh, happy hour is only at the bar... you didn't know that?" Obviously not, because neither she nor the waiter bothered to tell us while eagerly seating us in their empty restaurant. Honestly, this place feels like it survives by scamming clueless customers rather than serving decent drinks or food. If you want to be tricked into paying double for a mediocre experience, come here. Otherwise, avoid this pathetic excuse for a restaurant at all costs. The best kept lunch secret. They have a three course meal for $31. When you need a break from work or shopping pop in before the dinner crowds come. They give you numerous options to satisfy any palette. I chose a healthy option but when it came for desert I chose sweet in lieu of an Expresso. In hindsight I should have gotten both! The ambiance was bright and inviting. It transported me from the hustle and bustle of nyc to an island in Venice. A sweet exscape. The food comes quick and the service memorable.

I love the sunning restaurant. It was such a great experience. They have weekly jazz that you have to check out. It really added to the atmosphere of the restaurant that's already beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious. They have a lot of classic Italian dishes, but everything is elevated. This is perfect for a very romantic date night or a classic New York City experience.

The food was very good, service was kind and friendly and hey, they comped us TWO desserts cause it was my birthday. We had a Compania pizza (wood oven and perfectly cooked) and spaghetti bolognese. The cheesecake was super creamy and delicious. The Manhattans were excellent if a little pricey, but it is New York City after all. And they're open until 11pm on a Sunday. No complaints at all.

Great service. Our group lunch reservation changed from 4 times in an hour, and they ended up having to add seats that we had advised we did not need. They handled it with kindness and manners and professionalism. Never an eye roll or a sigh, but instead "We can do that of course." Service throughout the meal was great. It's a beautiful spot. The food was good. Everyone liked their meal. I recommend it. I would enjoy going back for date night. It would be a great place for that. Restaurant is well managed. Top marks.

The Scarlet Vetter says.....just wow. Some of the best Italian cuisine we have had in, well, forever. The service was bar none. Attentive, but not too much. Just right. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We ordered a high end bottle of Brunello and a Greek Salad to share to start (I know, Greek at an Italian establishment? But it had a decided Italian flair in the flavorful dressing). The server, Noufel, asked if he could split the salad for us and serve us. A very nice touch! He brought warm fresh lightly spiced focaccia (complimentary) to the table. I then ordered the Spaghetti Cacio de Pepe with shaved truffle. It was finished tableside in a huge Parmisan Cheese round, that had been carved out in the center. As they swirled the pasta in the round they scraped up shards of parm into the pasta. Then the truffle was fresh shaved over the top of the pasta, once plated. It was beautifully presented and just YUMMY. I also ordered a side steak, medium rare, pre-sliced, as I wanted some intense protein. I figured my hubby could partake as well and we were starving as we had nothing to eat all day. The hubby ordered the Lasagne Bolognese. What. Amazing. Food. The Lasagne was distinctly tomatoey and rich and nicely presented. Not salty like many Bolognese sauces. The Steak was melt in your mouth and perfectly cooked to my requested temperature. Since it was its own separate entree it came with delicious whipped mashed potatoes, seared cauliflower, broccoli, etc. Totally an indulgent, sumptuous meal. But oh, the desserts! And..... delicious rich foamy coffee and expresso!! My husband had the Tiramisu, and I ordered the Italian Whipped Ricotta cheesecake. Literally the most delicious dessert I have ever had. Ever. The owner is a chef in his own right, although he had another chef in the kitchen too. The owner, Alessandro, is from Italy and has his own cookbook which features the cheesecake recipe. He was kind enough to let me snap a picture of it and the book, which I share with you all, my lovely yelpers! We were treated to complimentary glasses of lemoncello as well after dinner! The price for food was very, very reasonable for NYC standards, or, frankly, otherwise. I really splurged on the wine, which put the total bill up quite high. But I would do it again on a heartbeat! Run, don't walk, to this gastronomic experience!

Starting with the freshest ingredients, the dishes were executed with perfection. Options range from the tried and true (Margherita pizza with a light, perfect crust) to the more unusual (amazing squid ink pasta with squid). Tiramisu is excellent. Seating is comfortable and the ambience is lively but friendly enough for quiet conversations. Highly recommend for both business and relaxing / romantic meals.

La Piazza is a newly opened Italian restaurant that is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It encompasses two floors, has beautiful decor, delicious food, and exemplary service. I appreciated how the owner visited each and every patron and ensured that everyone was comfortable and content. Their description states it perfectly....La Piazza, where contemporary design meets classic Italian warmth. We started with the Insalata di Piovra (Octopus Salad). This salad was exquisite. I enjoyed how the octopus was thinly sliced, accompanied by tomatoes, black olives, celery, berries, and a lemony citrus oil. This starter is highly recommended and is one of their best sellers. For our entree, we shared the Pizza Napoletana. This was just as good as the appetizer and I didn't miss the cheese or basil. The ambiance of this restaurant is very relaxing, inviting, and each customer table is conveniently set apart from the other(s). Welcome to NYC, La Piazza. Came into this restaurant very spontaneously on a Saturday evening with 4 other guests. This was my first meal EVER in NY and I will say that I was not disappointed! Everything was delicious from the appetizer all the way to dessert. I ordered the lasagna and it was one of the best lasagna's I've had. I also ordered dessert which was also amazing! I was surprised to learn that they had only been open for a week! Very impressed and I can't wait to come back!

In our opinion, this is the best Italian restaurant in the United States. We had pizza and lasagna today. We ate here two days ago and only had pizza. The pizza is amazing and the lasagna is everything you want home to taste like. The espresso is amazing too. No sugar needed.

The food is delightful with some nice surprises. The octopus salad is astounding. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxing. Nice music. I would definitely come here again.

I stopped in late one evening with Ashley P and got seated. La Piazza occupies the old Casa Limone space. We were in the mood for Pizza. Ashley ordered A Margherita Pizza, and I ordered a Quatro Stagione Pizza. A glass of Gavi and a glass of Pinot Nero to go with the Pizza. Both pies were very good as was the wine. $112 for dinner with an !8% gratuity means that we will be back.

In our opinion, this is the best Italian we've had in the United States. We had the pizza with artichokes and the lasagna. The Lasagna tastes like what we had in Vience.

There's no doubt that chef Alessandro Pendinelli has left his mark here. Solid food menu with a good variety of traditional Italian dishes, which are then executed very well (both in taste and presentation). Great wine selection to accompany the meal. Welcoming staff pays attention to your needs. Recommended!

Amazing restaurant with terrific service...if I lived in NYC it would be my goto spot. I believe there were 6 of us who came in after a work event we hosted for our customers in NYC. Immediately we all loved the ambience and I could personally see myself sitting at the bar and enjoying drinks and food any time!! We were sat upstairs being a large party and it was very comfortable. The servers took amazing care of us....so attentive! Everything ordered was adjusted to the size of our party per request, which the server would go and speak with the chef about and then communicate back how it would be adjusted and even provided other dish suggestions we may want to consider vs multiple of the same type. We had several delicious pasta dishes (even accomodating for a gluten free member of our party), the tomahawk steak, wine, prosecco.... everything absolutely phenomenal. After dinner we had a wonderful display of desserts presented to us that were thoroughly enjoyed. A++++ and I can't wait to come back in the future.

Food and service were amazing. Made a perfect night out with my girlfriend, walked to rockefeller center afterwards right around the corner. Perfect date night, the ambiance was very romantic and I highly recommend the tuna or salmon tar-tar.

Great new spot in NYC's Italian dining scene! The food was fantastic -- I had the tonnarelli with red tuna, capers, and cherry tomatoes, and the swordfish with a citrus sauce. Both were super flavorful. Martini was well made, and wine pours were generous. The vibe is upscale but still comfortable, and the service was friendly and on point. Upstairs dining wasn't open yet. Prices are NYC-high, but that's to be expected. Definitely coming back soon.

This is a great restaurant if you're looking for excellent Italian food, top-notch service, and a relaxing atmosphere that takes you back to the canals of Venice. The waiter staff and management are very friendly, authentic, Italian speaking, and accommodating to provide a memorable experience. The pizza is a must try as well as the pasta and Greek salad!
