Iconic St-Denis Diner-Style Structure Is Up For Sale Following Pizzeria Closure | Eater Montreal

"After 28 years on St-Denis, La Pizzaiolle has closed its Plateau location and the iconic metallic, retro 1952 diner that housed it is now for sale. I read the pizzeria’s Facebook post in which owner Daniel Noiseux said that current circumstances and changes to St-Denis street — widely linked to the Réseau express vélo (REV) bike lanes that merchants say have reduced parking for customers and delivery trucks — made the restaurant no longer viable at this location. Noiseux imported the diner from Boston in 1991, had it restored and expanded to accommodate La Pizzaiolle, and its Formica‑tabled interior has been renovated over the years; he hopes to avoid demolition, will offer technical support to any future buyer to move the structure, and has set a $250,000 price tag. The chain’s two other La Pizzaiolle locations, in Old Montreal and the Town of Mount Royal, are temporarily closed for COVID-19-related reasons." - Valerie Silva

Excellent restaurant. The pizzas are thin crust and perfectly cooked. The toppings are high quality. The service is spot on. This restaurant is located inside the old TMR train station and as such the heritage decor feels very comfortable. If you're able to nab a spot on the terasse you get to enjoy the wonderful feel of central TMR. Alaric recommends. 🤌

Phenomenal place. Food was incredible. The vibe was great, the place smells awesome as well. I’m looking forward to coming back. I got the quatre fromages et pommes, a tiramisu and espresso. Absolute deliciousness.

Beautiful setting area especially outdoor! Great service! The people are welcoming. Food was extremely delicious, we tried pizza (although its not a wood oven its very good) add to it some olive oil, salads (the caesar salad comes without chicken) and the eggplant cheese dish with good Italian drafted beer!

Great food & service! We went there during the winter so we never had the chance to try the terrace. We ordered 4 different pizzas, they were all delicious, and desert was good too. Would recommend!

Our pizzas were delicious, and their prices were very reasonable. We sat outside, lovely ambiance. And there was enough room for me to freely walk around with my little toddler. Bonus that there is free parking for the resto.

Very very tasty pizza & authentic Caesar salad. The dough of the pizza is very soft and tasty. We both had the pepperoni, peppers and mushroom pizzas. Their spicy sauce ( you have to ask for it) is very good. Overall very tasty and beautiful location! The patio is gorgeous!

Today, I went in the evening to have coffee and dessert. From the beginning, the waitress who served us — a tall lady with blond hair — seemed upset. When she brought the latte, which was supposed to be hot, it was cold. When I told her about it, she disappeared for a while and then came back with the same cold drink. She was really rude and unprofessional. Honestly, she does not deserve to work in this restaurant.
