Stopped by here on the way to Myrtle Beach airport to drop off our daughter. Not very impressive at first glance, part of a strip plaza. We arrived about 2:00 PM and apparently at the end of lunch boom - place was packed. Most were small tables or booths but we spotted a table for six that was not cleaned, so we sat down. About 10 minutes later a server came and cleared the table then returned to wipe it down.
I grabbed menus so we had an idea of what we wanted. We ordered a burrito, chicken enchiladas mole, platillo de poblanita, and chicken tostadas. Decided to try different drinks so we had 2 fruit drinks, pineapple and rice, both were excellent. I also had a Jarito Tamarind, which I had in the past and enjoyed.
We were quickly served fresh tortilla chips and three salsas, regular, an Avacado based one and a hot one, which had a nice bite. Unfortunately our food took roughly an hour to arrive so we nibbled chips for a long time. Food finally came. Some very good Mexican fare, not great. Refried beans were very thin.
I must admit there were a good variety of flavors, as we shared bites with each other, but my palate still prefers more Tex-mex fare. Interesting but not a place I would go back to visit again. And a bit pricey at over $80 for four meals and drinks.
